Exceptional Langtang Valley Trekking Experience with Nepal Wilderness Trekking - Solo Female Traveler
From the start, the manager, Himal, was very quick to respond and patient with answering all the questions I had for him. The process to book and secure the trip was very effortless, and he was very professional in his work. As a solo female traveler, I had specifically requested a female guide and was assigned Diku Sherpa, who was an amazing guide. She is very strong, extremely knowledgeable, and knows her way around the mountains well. She taught me about the various plants and spotted many wildlife along the way. Trekking in June i was worried about the monsoon season and not being able to catch the views of the mountains. Diku adapted our itinerary such that we could reach the peak of kyanjin ri view point early in the morning before the clouds came for the beautiful view to be seen! I was not feeling well halfway through the trip, and she went out of her way to ensure that I was okay and took good care of me, which made me feel much better. Overall, I had a very good experience and would highly recommend travelers to choose this company for their next trip.

Three passes - 17days with Diku Sherpa Female Guide
I was fortunate to do the Three Passes Trek with Diku Sherpa from Nepal Wilderness. Due to my travel buddy falling ill, I unexpectedly ended up alone in Namche Bazaar and when I reached out to Nepal Wilderness Trekking, Himal was very helpful. He organised Diku at extremely short notice, which was my very good luck as she turned out to be an incredible guide. Diku was funny and kind, and always encouraging when the going got tough. Having grown up nearby, and being Sherpa herself, she was full of knowledge about the local customs, flora and fauna. Her English is excellent and we spent lots of time playing cards and talking together during the journey - not to mention she is an excellent photographer with the best poses! I’ll always be grateful to have had Diku as my guide - she truely enhanced my trekking experience!

Fantastic experience, great guide, super well organised. Unforgettable!
Absolutely fantastic experience. My partner and I booked a private tour to Gokyo Ri and lakes and went in May 2024. Himal, the organiser, answered all our questions throughout the months - and I had many! He was super responsive and paid attention to everything I mentioned (e.g. I told him we are not into social media and he made sure the guide knew!). Our guide, Indra, is a fantastic person. He took care of us for 10 days, making sure we had fruits every night and checking on us. I got some altitude sickness and I was very slow and weak, Indra always made sure to walk at my pace and was checking on me to make sure I was doing ok. He re-planned our way back to Lukla to accomodate it to our needs and pace. He took care of the flights and all the organisation and did it very well, so we didn’t have to worry about anything. He is a very kind and open person and we were so happy to have had him as our guide! He made this a truly unforgettable experience! Our porter Sabin was lovely - he offered to take my backpack when we were in Gokyo lakes cause he could see I was struggling. He always arrived before us at the accommodation and made sure our bags were ready. All the tea houses we stayed in were clean and lovely, we really enjoyed staying at all the different places. We always had a private room and, when possible, our own bathroom. Loved the view from our window, especially in Gokyo! All our meals were good and there was a good variety of food - we always ate well. I recommend them with all my heart!

4 days Poon Hill Trek with Bhawana
I have just finished my 4 day trek to Poon Hill. I am simply thrilled. The trek is great, it goes through a lot of forest and jungle and in between you always have a view of the mountains, which really impressed me every time. However, you have to walk a lot of steps up and down every day, which is not easy. My guide Bhawana made the trek even better, she is a very experienced guide and just super friendly. There were usually only the two of us, as it was already off-season, but it never got boring and we had a lot of fun. I am very happy that I was able to do my trek with her!

Highly recommended (trekking agency and the female sherpa
This was a trip I had planned for a year. My first concern was going solo but Himal made sure I had a female sherpa to feel comfortable with. her name was Pasang Sherpa and she took good care of me. She is a very strong woman, fast and resistant. I was pleased with the hotel booking in Kathmandu, transportation arrangements to/from the airport, flight ticket to Lukla, and all the arrangements during the trekking route. It was a relieve not having to deal with anything.

          Perfect 5 day trek
We had an amazing 5 day trek with our guide Sujan Tamang, and Porter Karna Gurung. They made sure everything that we needed was provided and let us go at our own pace. The food along the trek was amazing and Sujan taught us a lot about the mountains and culture within Nepal. It was a pleasure to have them with us and we would recommend the trip highly.

Pikey Peak Trail with Lukpa Sherpa
Had the greatest opportunity to experience the Pikey Peak Trail. The trail is said to be easy but there are some difficult parts during ascend, nonetheless, the challenge made the experience fulfilling. Our guide, Lukpa Sherpa, we got to experience local cultures, beautiful mountain views and hidden gems deep in the Himalayan Mountains! Highly recommended for beginners. But do go at the right season!

Loved our family 2 day Poon Hill trek!
Just returned from a great family trip on the two day Poon Hill track. Our family of four, including parents and two college aged daughters were excited to get out and see the Nepalese nature, but didn’t have time on our itinerary for a multi day trip. After researching a lot on TA (thanks TA community!), we came upon this well rated tour company and decided to explore it. Himal, the owner, was very communicative from the get-go. I was much more comfortable prepaying our deposit knowing that many others on TA had had such a great experience. Our trip was very well organized, and we were picked up exactly on time. Our guide was DB and he was kind, knowledgeable, and very considerate to all of our needs. Our porter was a great sport as well. We took our trek mid May and shoulder season. Got some Himalaya sunrise views on Poon Hill, but it was a bit overcast. I think April might’ve been a preferable month to trek but didn’t work around our families schedule. I gather later May is a start of monsoon and may involve leeches. Fortunately, we did not encounter any monsoon or leeches! Good food was provided for us all along the way, and even our finicky American stomachs did fine. A couple of footnotes with regards to packing that may be helpful; the teahouse that we stayed in overnight had electricity in the rooms as well as private bathrooms. No toilet paper in the rooms, but available for purchase in the lobby. We did not need sleep sacks as our bedding was clean and comfortable. We had brought water purification filters, and tablets in case we needed these. On the two day track, there was enough bottled water along the way and in Ghorepani that we did not need to self filter. As Ghorepani is actually accessible by road, we felt confident that our empty bottles would not be thrown into land waste. We brought small daypacks with us during the hikes which held water, sunscreen, bug spray, cameras. We were able to give other light bags to our kindly porter to carry as well. We had used larger size backpacks for these, but a super lightweight, drawstring duffel, like a sleeping bag cover, would’ve been a better choice as the porter collects all of the bags into one big sack that he carries. Our hotel in Pokhara graciously stored our larger bags for us during our trek. Probably best to book the same hotel for both before and after the trek to keep your luggage in one place. A headlamp was useful for the predawn climb up Poon. Another note for the trekking, the brief part of the Annapurna trail that we hiked was comprised of at least 50% stone stairs. Speaking to someone who had done a 10 day Annapurna base camp trip, there are many more stairs along the way. Just a note for anyone with bad knees or hips, who are sensitive to stairs. The natural beauty was amazing and we loved our trek . This company does an amazing job with amazing staff, and I encourage everyone to book with them. Thank you!

          Poon Hill 4-day trek
We have just completed a 4-day Poon Hill trek with Nepal Wilderness Trekking - and we had a great time! The trek was very well organised and the pre-departure admin (email correspondence, payment, etc.) was very efficient. Our trek guide Bhim Ghale was excellent and made every effort to ensure that the trek was enjoyable. And Bhim taught us how to play ‘Dumbal’, Nepal’s favourite card game which provided much evening entertainment. Thanks to everyone at the Nepal Wilderness Trekking team for a great trip!

          4-day Poon Hill Trek
My partner and I just completed the 4-day Poon Hill trek - a loop from Nayapul to Syauli Bazaar (via Ulleri, Ghorepani and Ghandruk) with our guide Sabin and porter Sudip. Both were super helpful, cheerful and accommodating. (Sabin was a very competent guide and, lucky for us, has very strong English. He was also very patient with our many photo stops and rest breaks.) The trip itself was well organized and the accommodations were good. Although we did not get a clear view of the mountains because of the cloud cover, the trails themselves were beautiful, and we passed through a number of different microclimates - with a variety of flora - along the way. We highly recommend this tour.

4-day Ghandruk with kids - top notch!
We took a 4-day Ghandruk trek as a first initiation into trekking with our children (8 & 10yo). Our guide Yakub was a gem, very organized and flexible to meet our needs. Great with the kids and a fantastic source of local knowledge. Our pre-trip communication with Himal was also prompt and spot on, absolutely professional. We highly recommend this company and any trek you could / would want to take.

          Manaslu circuit trek
We did a girls trip on Manaslu circuit and that was very great experience for us. 😊 We spent 2 weeks in the mountains with an awesome guide Ganesh and had really great time. He planned the trek according to our wishes and conditions and we safely reached a Larke Pass (5105m) without any big problem. Still thinking about the good mountain time, thank you! ✨😊

Trek to Langtang and Kyanji Ri
I just completed the 7 days Langtang valley trek. Langtang is like a piece of heaven. From day 2, the trek follows the river all the way to the source - a massive glacier. Along the trek, i saw yaks, jopos, monkeys and my guide spotted a wild boar too ( i didnt but i heard a loud warning grunt). It was just amazing. The view from Kyanjin Ri was definitely the cherry on top! My guide, Lal, is extremely knowledgeable and familiar with the route, the little villages and surrounding. I particularly like this trek as it feels less busy compared to ABC but to each his/ her own.

Our guide and porter were extremely helpful and easily catered our needs. Our mother is 61 so we took 2 extra days to complete the trek (recommended) and were very happy to have a knowledgeable guide to help us stay where it made sense. We are all Jain vegetarians but our dietary needs were always met with delicious food. To speak of the trek itself, the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges are two of earth's treasures and we will be going back to the Himalaya agajn. The guiding company made the logistics easy so all we had to do was show up in Kathmandu and hold on for the ride. If you're a logistics guru and a capable trekked and navigator, a guide isn't essential, but for us it was money well spent. Nepal is a very special place!

        Apr 2022 • Solo
I was pretty anxious before this trip, not only was I just weary about safety (as always on solo trips) but also about my fitness level (not high) and on top a back injury I got just 3 weeks before the hike. I made it to Pokhara after almost 4 days of travel and meet with Manoj my guide and porter and just hours laters all my worries went away. He was knowledgeable, always prepared and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I felt super safe and taken care of at all times. I turned the poon hill trek into a 5 day hike and he made sure I got the best rooms in every tea house and the best food. We listened to Nepalese music, showed me what locals eat, and encouraged me to push through on the tough hikes. THANK YOU MANOJ! Would recommend this 100% if you are looking for a hike and experience some true Nepalese culture.

Would highly recommend the three day Poon Hill trek! Our guide, Lal, was incredible and made sure we had an amazing time. He was so knowledgeable and loved to talk to us and answer our questions. He did a great job accommodating everyone’s different comfort and fitness levels and kept everyone comfortable and having fun. Our porters were also amazing; we cannot speak highly enough of the team at Nepal Wilderness Trekking.

The hike has spectacular views the whole time, and the beauty of the summit of Poon Hill cannot be overstated. The accommodations along the way are comfortable, the food delicious, and the people very kind. We went in May; if you are going in a warm month expect to sweat lots and be very very hot.

In the beginning of Febuary I did the poon hill trek in 3 days and it was wonderful! Riddhi had a lot of knowledge about nature, was extremely helpful and most important, a really fun companion. I recommend everybody going there with a tour guide (yes it is a bit more expensive but in my view worth it) to make sure you have a trip without any small problems. Riddhi, I miss you already..

We had an incredible time hiking Poon hill with Vishal. He was incredibly accommodating, made sure we were always comfortable and also adapted the itinerary well to our pace. He also held my hand whilst going down the slippery downhill! We had lots of fun with him. I’d highly recommend this company we had a great, smooth experience. I also thought it was reasonably priced. Huge thanks to the hardworking porter too.

Ghorepani/Poon Hill trek in October 2022

We completed the Ghrepani / Poon Hill trek with Yakub and Silas in October 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The trek itself was a great length of time for people looking to feel emersed in the Himalayas and with a limited time. It was a great level of difficulty where parts felt challenging but not unachievable or too long. As our first time in the Himalayas, the scenery and environment was simply breathtaking and something I thoroughly recommend to do at least once in your life!

However, it was Yakub and Silas who really made the trip extra special and memorable. They were absolutely excellent from start to finish - both as knowledgeable guides and the most attentive hosts.

We were incredibly well looked after, made to feel comfortable throughout and given a fantastic understanding of both Nepalese culture, the environment we were trekking and history. We saw many other guides during our stay and this only reinforced how lucky we were to be with Yakub and Silas - they really went above and beyond. So a thank you is well deserved.

Doing a trek like this is really something very special and we couldn't have picked a better Company to use from responsiveness in booking, to the experienced and attentive guides. By the end, we were simply doing this trek with our new, close friends. We could not recommend this trek or Company more to anyone looking to explore Nepal.

We went on a 3 day trek guided by Bishal Gurung.
He was friendly from when we first met and was very knowledgeable about the area and the route.
You could tell he loves what he does and he went out of his way to give us an authentic experience. He cares about the local community and loves nature. We had a lot of insight into Nepal as a country and we got much more than just a trek on our 3 day trip!

As for the trek itself, as first time trekkers it was not bad! Of course we were tired in the end but everything is paced out well and is not too hard. We even saw children on the trek! The tea houses are simple and cosy, you really feel like you are in an adventure!!

We also want to give a shout-out to our helper who carried our bags for us. She was amazing!!

This hike is perfect as an introduction to trekking in Nepal. I went with my partner and we have caught the hiking bug for real and already want to plan our next trip.

The mountains and the jungle areas are beautiful, like nothing anywhere else in the world. The hike is moderate, and our guide did an excellent job keeping the pace and making sure we took regular breaks for water and rest so that we enjoyed the whole climb without fatigue. We were even lucky enough to see Grey Langur monkeys and a snake! Words and photos cannot do justice, the breathtaking views from the top of Poon Hill. It was truly spectacular and heavenly.

DB Basnet was our guide, who had 30 years experience and shared so much great knowledge with us about the nature and Nepal. He and our porter looked after us very well, recommending the best food to try at each hotel. DB had a great sense of humour and was very kind and polite. He is going to help us plan our trip to Everest base camp as well!

We did some research before booking with this company, and they are very good value for the excellent service you receive. They even took us on a detour there and back to see the views from Sangurat. Highly recommend this trip.

I recently had an stunning 4day/3night hike with Vishal around the Poon Hill area.
He is an incredible guide - professional, knowledgeable, supportive and spoke English.
He allowed us to tailor each of our days to suit our needs and introduced us to many interesting people working in the villages we were trekking through.
All good and accommodation was included in the price. From our own research we found the package to be better value than organising our own permit/guide/porter/accom/food/transport.

Our porter Prasad was also great - strong, playful and knowledgeable too.

Overall the hike was not difficult, if you have experience in hiking. I loved seeing all the villages, and small mountain towns, the many animals. The landscape changed each day keeping the trek interesting and we were consistently surrounded by the mountain vistas. The highlight was watching the sun rise each morning, especially at Poon Hill and the way the light hits the mountains at sunrise and sunset.

We have just got back from the three day Poon Hill trek with Nepal Wilderness Trekking. We had a fantastic experience. Our guide DB and porter Ohm were both fantastic. DB was very friendly, knowledgable and always went out of his way to make sure we were having fun. He also adjusted our itinerary to make sure we had the best chance of getting a good view from the top of Poon Hill which we were very grateful for.

I would recommend Nepal Wilderness Trekking to anyone considering booking a hike in Nepal. From looking around online their rates are also very reasonable!
