Was a unique opportunity to learn and experience the Buddhist culture and religion. Was very interesting to learn all about Tibet and its people and our guide was so eager to share his knowledge with us. Highly recommended!

My son took this tour and had an excellent experience. This is his review: The Tibetan people I interacted with were really nice and inviting. It was fascinating to learn about their traditions, culture, and history. There were four of us on the tour and people took time to really talk with us and show us around. We even were invited into their homes, where we were served very delicious butter tea and roasted barley flour. Through this tour, I gained a unique and educational perspective on the rich history of the Tibetan people. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in cultural experiences and gaining appreciation for the Tibetan people and their heritage.

Absolutely incredible experience! The guide was lovely, attentive and extremely knowledgeable. It was great to get some in depth knowledge about Tibetan culture and the struggles of Tibetan refugees. Definitely a must do if you are in Pokhara!

This tour was amazing! I read about it in the lonely planet and was looking for some cultural thing to do around Pokhara so went by there office and booked the morning tour for the next day. Thupten, the guide, was just wonderful. He was able to tell me a lot of things about the history of Tibet, current situation and Buddhism in general. I didn’t expect a lot but got one of the best tours I have ever done. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for cultural education about Tibet and Buddhism.

Our guide had been giving this tour for 14 years. He was a very knowledgable, learned man who ran a very educational tour. * Morning Prayer with the Monks: For me this was both moving and fascinating to witness * Breakfast with a local family -- delicious and very educational! * Talking one on one with a monk -- what a once in a lifetime experience. We had a full hour and could ask whatever questions we wished * Learning about Tibetan medicine, also a one on one conversation -- interesting * Touring the village -- extremely educational with pictures about the settlement, how it changed over time, the state ot Tibetan refugees today, lovely handicrafts I can't recommend this tour enough, definitely a highlight of our trip to Nepal

I joined the full day tour with my Mom, delivered by the truly excellent Mr Thupten. If you are interested in Tibetan culture and the story of the diaspora, this is really hard to beat. Mr Thupten shared so much knowledge, my understanding of the Tibetan experience has really been enhanced and I feel that I've had a genuine and in-depth insight into that world. From the visit to the refugee camp to the time spent in the monastery, everything was extremely well organised. Mr Thupten not only made the day interesting, but also fun. He also took great care of my Mom which was an appreciated extra touch. Sign up and you won't be disappointed.

The experience was truly amazing. Thupten was incredibly knowledgeable, providing detailed explanations about the history and culture of the Tibetan village, as well as political and religious perspectives related to the Dalai Lama. He was open to any questions we had. I initially signed up for a half-day tour, but after the morning session, I joined the afternoon session as well. The entire tour was very diverse and offered a deep insight into authentic Tibetan life, from visiting the village and school, consulting a Tibetan doctor, chatting with monks, observing prayer rituals, to visiting a Tibetan family for snacks. Each experience was profound, and I highly recommend it.

Thupten is an amazing guide. He explained everything very well from how to make a tea to dalaï lama’s teachings. We met a monk at a monastery and he explained very well about monks life and few other questions about budha”s teachings and meditation types. Incredible afternoon Learning about Tibetan culture from Thupten, a Tibetan refugee himself. Thupten was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable… I got so much out of the tour. I could have listened to him for days. One of the best things I did in Pokhara - can’t recommend highly enough.

This was such an enjoyable afternoon. In just 4 hours we covered a lot of really meaningful experiences. Speaking with a monk of 25 years experience in a small group of 3 was really insightful, Thupten was so knowledgeable and passionate about the Tibetan culture and history. I would totally recommend this tour for the legacy it will leave you with.

It is a unique experience to meet with Tibetans and their community. Very informative about their situation and a concrete experience on the living culture. I would recommend this to others who wish to understand more about Tibetans or those who look for an alternative day tour!

If ypu don't do anything else in Pokhara this tour is a must do. Thupten was a great guide, passionate and knowledgeable- we learnt from him first hand about Tibetans in Nepal and their journey to get here. We spoke with a Monk about his life's story and that is completely different to what we believe in the western world. We were able to sit in on a prayer ceremony and indulge in some Tibetan butter tea- which is nicer than it sounds. My only regret is we didn't do the full day tour. Thank you Thupten we take our experiences home with a grateful heart 🙏

Me and my friend read about Tibetan Encounters in a travel guide and were delighted to join a tour. Tashi was an excellent guide who gave us an amazing insight regarding Tibetan History and Culture as well as Buddhism. We visited a monastery, had a lovely conversation with a monk and drank tea at a tibetan house. We totally recommend joining a tour while in Pokhara.

Definitely reccomend! This your was a great experience and introduction to Tibetan history and culture, as well as buddhism. We did a half day tour but a full day tour would also be worth it I think. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to speak with a monk!
