Thank you to Pasnag and Mingmar for finishing the trreking safely and I hope to be able to do a more wonderful trreking with MOSTREX next time.Written November 22, 2024

- Q1939NOjohnj0 contributionsTilicho lake/Annapurna TrekI have previously visited Nepal with Mountain Sherpa Trekking so when planning my second trip I knew who to call straight away. We had an amazing trip with our excellent guide Tashi, who was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and adaptable to our needs and the weather we encountered on our way. All aspects of the trek (Tilicho lake/Annapurna) and travel within Nepal were organised by the company making the trip very easy and relaxed. I would strongly recommend Mountain Sherpa Trekking to anyone considering a trip to Nepal.Written March 27, 2024
- N8538EPjohns0 contributionsCustomized Solo Manaslu Circuit & Annapurna Circuit w/Tilicho Lake - Soti Khola to JomsomLast August (2023) when I found that I would have the month of December free to visit Nepal for the first time, I contacted a number of trekking providers, hoping to join a group tour of the Manaslu and/or Annapurna circuits. I found that the prime season for group treks ends early in December so I was very pleased to hear from Pasang Sherpa that although group trips would be finished by then, Mountain Sherpa Trekking could offer me a solo trek with guide and porter. How fortunate I am to have come across this trekking company! They took care of every detail of the itinerary from the moment I was met at the Kathmandu airport until I was dropped off for my flight home 29 days later. And wow! what a wonderful itinerary it was. Everything I encountered was a new and enriching experience for me: from the first day city tour and welcome dinner with a music and dance performance, to the long and fascinating all day jeep ride to the start of the trek in Soti Khola, 22 days walking, another long and very scenic jeep ride from Jomsom to Pokhara (2 nights), walking tour of Pokhara, flight to Kathmandu, and day hiking in the hills above the city on my last day in Nepal. And, especially, I appreciated all of the wonderful, friendly people I met along the way: Nepalese villagers, farmers, shop owners and workers, porters, shepherds, welcoming families with kids and grandparents; and also fellow trekkers who shared my delight in walking among the valleys and mountains of Nepal. I am an experienced traveler and capable wilderness hiker and backpacker. Yes, I could have figured out the way on my own and often find that to be a satisfying aspect of long treks. But on this trek, my first with a guide, above all I am extremely grateful to my very experienced and knowledgeable guide, Tashi Tamang, and porter, Kaji Sherpa, who took care of every detail along the way, kept me on track and watched out for me every step of the way, always treating me with kindness and good humor. It has been my great pleasure to walk with them every day for more than three weeks. Thank you. "Ah, chillaway!" :-)Written January 12, 2024
- I4262KOmichaeld0 contributionsEverest Region Trek: Gokyo Valley and Renjo La Pass 16 daysI had previously used Mountain Sherpa to do the Annapurna Circuit Trek and went back to use them again to do a trek in the Everest region. The trip was an amazing experience, a lot of which is due to Mountain Sherpa and our guide Pema. The trip was well organised and Mountain Sherpa are incredibly accommodating when it comes to changing aspects of an itinerary and putting a trip together. Pasang was quick to respond to all our queries and requests. I have now done two trips with Mountain Sherpa and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to go trekking in Nepal.Written January 2, 2024
- W4858MOelizabethb0 contributionsExperience and attention to detail: we highly recommend this companyOur experience with Mountain Sherpa Trekking was excellent. We approached them about a trek somewhat unsure of what would be suitable for us and how we would fare at high altitude. Pasang Sherpa told us that a couple qualified for the group rate, and he worked with us to design our itinerary with extra days for acclimatization. We ended up choosing a trek in the Khumbu region, not to the Everest Base Camp but instead to Gokyo and over the Renjo La. We were told, rightly, that this would give us the best views with fewer crowds. Everyone took perfect care of us from beginning to end. In Kathmandu, we were received graciously by Pasang and his brother Tandi, including a welcome dinner. They chose pleasant accommodation for us and were helpful when we decided to change hotels. Two private guided tours in the capital itself and in Patan and Bakhtapur gave us a brief but wide-ranging introduction to the main sights. On the trek, our experienced guide Tashi Tamang saw to our every need. He sought out the best rooms for us in the lodges, made sure we ate adequately, and set a steady pace on the trails, attentive to our physical condition. He was able to re-fashion our itinerary (in terms of where to spend extra time) according to our progress. He answered our endless questions about local culture and the natural environment and even taught us Nepalese card games before dinner. Our porter Ambir carried our heavy gear not only with astonishing strength, but with good humor. All this made it possible for us, despite our misgivings, not only to reach the 5400m pass but to enjoy the entire experience.Written December 3, 2023
- Curtis O0 contributionsExcellent Himalayan Trekking CompanyFrom the moment we met with Pasang Sherpa at the Calgary, AB Canada adventure show to the moment we landed in Katmandu to the conclusion of our Mera Peak trek, our group (2 Canadians & 3 Americans) was very impressed with the professionalism, expertise & care of the entire Mountain Sherpas team. We were provided with a detailed itinerary at the onset of our planning phase (1 yr+) and Pasang Sherpa was very responsive to our team inquiries. At the time when deposits were requied, the payments were handled securely & efficiently. We obtained Visas at the Napalese embassy prior to travel and this step streamlined the arrival process. Tandi Sherpa attended to greet us at the Katmandu airport and transported us to our pre-trek hotel. The next day, Tandi Sherpa picked us up and transported us to the Mountain Sherpa arranged accommodation (Yak & Yeti Hotel). This hotel is centrally located and close to the Thamel tourist neighbourhood. That evening, we enjoyed an authentic cultural dinner including music & dance with our assigned guide, Mingmar Sherpa. To assist with the time change the next day, we also toured the Swayyambhunath Stupa and Durbar Square. Mountain Sherpas arranged air travel to Lukla on the next day and we arrived on time as planned. The trekking experience was both exhausting & exhilarating and Mingmar Salaka Sherpa, our guide, expertly assessed & supported our progress everyday. He was positive, professional and attended to our every need. His leadership was exceptional and he was able adjust itineraries to accommodate specific members of our group. We were very fortunate to have him as our guide. His assistant sherpas, Niima, Bimba & Roksha, we’re integral to the success of the trek. A special shout-out to Niima and Bimba for really stepping up when we needed them most. Only one member of our climbing group made it to the summit due to a few health issues that affected our group along the way. Upon our return to Katmandu, Tandi picked us up at the airport and took us to several locations, including the Boudhanath Stupa. All in all, we had a terrific expedition and would highly recommend Mountain Sherpas as a go-to company for trekking in Nepal. Dhanyabād!Written November 22, 2023
- Y2860POkeithb0 contributionsWonderful experience despite challengesThe views were certainly amazing as expected. The service from Mountain Sherpa was outstanding. When a member of our group experienced knee problems, he was given a Sherpa to guide him in a more suitable trek for his capabilities. He got an amazing experience while the rest of the group continued on to Mera Peak. Further support and accommodation was made when three others of the party struggled with illness and stopped pursuing the summit. Only one out of the five made it to summit but the support along the way allowed us to still have a wonderful experience.Written November 22, 2023
- Y8913NHmikem0 contributionsAnnapurna circuitThe Annapurna circuit was a breathtaking high altitude romp around the Annapurna massif. I was successful in summiting the high point at thorung la pass, a lung crunching 17,769 feet above sea level. My guide Pemba was excellent in his knowledge of altitude trekking and ensuring my success in completing this trek. If your looking for a knowledgeable company to trek the Himalayas I strongly recommend mountain Sherpa trekking expeditions.Written July 1, 2023
- 814paraskevask0 contributionsBeyond the OrdinaryIn general , going places is like collecting valuable stamps in our memory passport! In particular , my visit in Nepal was an unforgettable experience!! Νepal is a country rich in history and traditions , spectacular wildlife, towering mountains , amazing views and very kind people. The combination of all these along with very good planning from local travel agency contributed to make our journey there an unforgettable experience. People of MOUNTAIN SHERPA work with absolute professionalism. Sherpa leader and all backing team guided us in trekking path with safety, providing us with any kind of support. Apart from trekking to Annapurna Base Camp , we also visited many touristic attractions in capital city - Katmandu as well as in Pokhara and Chitwan cities. Not only we followed the foul package tour we had prepaid without any omission , but also the guide added extra activities when there was some free time. Sure ,staff members deserve many thanks for their professionalism. The holiday was great value for money , absolutely does it worth. So , if you want to live your myth in Nepal don't feel any doubt that MOUNTAIN SHERPA's staff will help you make it true. Paraskevas Kalantzis - Athens/GreeceWritten June 21, 2023

- josephfT3470EA0 contributionsOnly positive comments for Mountain Sherpa Trekking & ExpeditionsI spent 16 days in Nepal in a group of 9 persons, from Greece, most of us in our 50's and 60's. We visited Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan while 8 days were dedicated to reaching Annapurna Base Camp. Pasang arranged reservations, transportation and guides and accompanied us himself at the trekking part. Moreover, his team was very responsive to my multiple questions and requests during the months before our trip. We appreciated the fact that he was ready to adapt to our needs. Both himself and his porters were friendly and supportive. As this was my first visit in Nepal I cannot compare MST&E with other agencies (there are so many in Nepal). but should I visit Nepal again I would not look elswhere, I would be more than glad to meet again Pasang and his team.Written May 24, 2023
- okmtngirl0 contributionsAbove and BeyondMountain Sherpa Trekking and Expeditions (MSTE) is owned and managed by three brothers. They were always reliable and on time in picking us up and did some extra transfers/side trips that were not part of our package. Our small group booked the Three (High) Pass Loop plus climbs of Lobuche East and Island Peak. Booking flights from KTM to Lukla is challenging and not always reliable. MSTE worked hard to secure direct flights for us, and when our flight was canceled due to a mechanical problem, they were able to quickly negotiate a helicopter into Lukla so there was no interruption in our schedule. The trek and climbs went as planned, with an excellent guide staff accompanying us. Our assistant guide and porter, Mingmar Sherpa was exceptional and always went out of his way to help us. Upon our return to Kathmandu, we had the chance to meet more of the brother's family, which made the experience even more personable. Pre-trip communication in English was always expedient and understandable. This is my second trip booked with MSTE (the first was Annapurna Circuit in 2010) and I hope to have the opportunity to book another trip with them in the future.Written November 25, 2022
- MountainGal20250 contributionsChange in PlansWe were 3 days into the Manaslu Circuit trek when rockslides caused by unseasonable monsoons made the trail impassable. I was amazed at how quickly an alternate plan was put into place and executed. We switched to Annapurna Sanctuary and MSTE was able to get a private van for the next day. Others we met on Manaslu weren't so fortunate. Our guides were knowledgeable, professional, accommodating and pleasant throughout. It wasn't the trek we expected but thanks to MSTE it was the best it could be. Also of note, the pre-trip planning/communication, KTM airport transfers etc all went smoothly. I highly recommend MTSE.Written November 9, 2022

My girlfriend and I did the private ECB trek. Although I generally prefer to hike without a guide service on less crowded trails, at no point was I anything but impressed with the experience and this company. Even before entering the country, Mountain Sherpa was more than accommodating even with some last-minute tour plan changes. Our guide was always pleasant and very knowledgeable and clearly prioritized both safety and customer wishes. They really went out of their way to accommodate any requests, preferences, or concerns we had. I would not hesitate to recommended this company to any friends or family travelling to Nepal, nor would I hesitate to book with them again.

We trekked to EBC over 11 nights and had a great time. We were so happy with our porters, our guide and the staff at Mountain Sherpas. We took a helicopter to Lukla when all fixed wing aircraft were cancelled and a few of our group took a helicopter part of the way down and our guide and the owner of Mountain Sherpa arranged everything with very little notice. It really was very easy. I loved that our guide and our porters were Sherpa as this made us feel like they knew the mountain and terrain very well. We loved our guide Pema and by the end of our trek we felt as we had become friends with everyone. We are just so happy with how Mountain Sherpas handled every aspect of our trip. I highly recommend Mountain Sherpas for any type of trekking in the Himalayas.

We just returned home from an amazing experience with MST! I completed the EBC Luxury Tour (Helicopter return) with my 10 year old son & 11 year old daughter. Our entire experience was phenomenal and I highly recommend Mountain Sherpa as a guide.
Our tea house accommodations were very comfortable (obviously the higher you go, the fewer available options there are). And our entire team (guide + trustworthy porters) were so great with my kids; they made the trek fun for them & were absolutely critical to their success of completing the trek!
We didn't participate in all the extras in Kathmandu. I personally would have loved to, but I was focused on managing my kids energy levels between the trek and flying across the world. The team was accommodating for everything we needed.
I highly recommend.

My wife and I just finished the 9-day EBC trek with helicopter return, and it was an incredible experience! Our guide, Pema Sherpa, was fantastic. He was very friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable of the local culture in every town we stopped at. Pema was also very attentive to every need we had and made sure to keep the trek at our pace. Our porter, Nima, was also great, he was always helpful and stuck with us the entire trek. He even knew a decent amount of English, which made communication easy and fun.
I noticed that compared to other trekking companies along the way, we would always take a more scenic route which we really appreciated (the main path can be quite congested). Lastly, the helicopter return at the end was awesome. All in all I highly recommend Mountain Sherpa Trekking for anyone considering an EBC trek!

If you want all the comforts of home all of the time—maybe just stay home. But… if you want an adventure and to see things you have never seen, then talk to Mountain Sherpa. They take care of the little things so that you don’t have to and you can spend more time being amazed.
You can set your pace to something you can live with. Alas, not everybody is athletic and still 18 years old. I have a bad hip—I tried to prepare my myself physically, but there are some things that are not easily changed. Altitude effects people differently. My Mountain Sherpa Guide was a good observer and changes were made to help me meet the goals that were most important to make my trek enjoyable and as successful as possible.
Communication to key to any interaction. The Team at Mountain Sherpa took the care and effort required. And not just on the trek either. Afterwards, there were options to discover the cultural side of Tibet.
I am very pleased with the service I received from Mountain Sherpa. I think that you will be pleased also. Talk to them and see for yourself.

We did the 16-day EBC trek with PD and one porter (I’m so sorry I forgot his name but he was amazing!) and we were very well taken care of since our arrival. They are always ready to assist and always made sure that we were comfortable, safe, and well-fed. They were very eager to help whenever I needed it and were also very happy to do it. They always had a smile on their faces even when we’ve had long exhausting days. If we ever come back to do another trek in Nepal, we will definitely book with them again. I am very happy and satisfied with their service.

My trip was all that I had dreamed about. Everyone at Mountain Sherpa Trekking was extremely helpful and professional. The itinerary, lodging, transportation, etc were well planned and efficient. My guide (Ming-Ma Aprehs) was knowledgeable, always pleasant and supportive, and for a bonus would airdrop me fabulous pictures that he had taken during the day. By the end of the adventure I had made a good friend.

My wife and I along with friends recently completed an Everest base camp trip with Mountain Sherpa expeditions. Pasang Sherpa and his team were excellent in their hospitality right from landing in Kathmandu. They were always present to take care of our issues and concerns.
Accommodations were the best we could find in Kathmandu and our hiking route.
Our guides from Lukla - Mingmar and Pema were knowledgeable and kind.
We would like to give special thanks to our porters Pemba and Sonam.
The team supported us when the going was tough.
It was once in a lifetime experience for us and our friends and Nirvana was only possible because of the excellent guides and porters.

This was my second trek with Sumba and PD and it was excellent! What makes them stand out?
First- PD was once again an excellent guide. The Renjo La trek is a real physical challenge and I am lucky to have had PD with me. I've done several high altitude treks - both in Nepal and Pakistan- and this was a tough one. He did a fantastic job making sure I got up the mountain and over the pass.
Second - and perhaps more important- is the logistics of putting a trek togther in Nepal. Sumba and his team were able to get me on a direct flight to Lukla when most of the other flights were re-routed to a distant inconvenient airport at the height of the trekking season in November. Also - when bad weather closed down Lukla airport on the day of my return to Kathmandu- Sumba scrambled to make sure I had a seat on one of the first flights when the airport reopened the next day. Many others were marooned in Lukla.
This is why I continue to rely on them for my trips to Nepal.
