About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- mireiagagi0 contributionsTo love and learn.I came to Nepal with little expectations of what I would find here, but the experience and the volunteering exceeded all expectations. The construction program taught me so many things about architecture that I would have never learned in my career. And the teaching program offered me the opportunity to have an amazing close approach to Nepali's culture. I think the little kids in the school taught me so much more than I could have ever taught them. But I must say this experience wouldn't have been the same with the amazing support and help from GAP, this team will always be there for you and welcome you with the biggest smile. GAP gave me not only the chance to learn, grow and help, but to do it with love, laughs and lots of new friends.Written July 31, 2022
- Steppen W0 contributionsA Different JourneySimple and effective! Basically you walk up a mountain after a thoughtful discussion with your guide on religion/spirituality. Then meet a few nuns at the top and enjoy a nice meal. Maybe they can't speak English but you enjoy the purity of a a simple but valuable experience.Written July 27, 2022
- 256adriend0 contributionsAmazing experienceAmazing volunteering experience with GAP! First week to help in a school and second week to work on a construction site. The team is great, I can only recommend it!Written July 16, 2022
- karinacP9177VZ0 contributionsInternship ExperienceThis summer I interned with Himalayan Circuit, a travel company located in Nepal. This experience was unlike any other previous ones that I have held. I am an avid volunteer in my community, whether it be helping children or packaging foods. This role had me strategizing with two key players: Shiva and Anish. These two individuals led me to my success by assigning me work and checking in with me. I am grateful for this experience due to the fact that I was able to build connections with people and gain a better understanding of Nepal. Within this internship, I focused on the social media for the Instagram and Facebook pages. Other elements include correcting the English language for the travel and trekking descriptions. Some other projects included working on cover stories for raising awareness and why choosing Nepal after COVID-19. All of these projects utilized my grammatical and syntax skills. These skills allowed me to become a better writer and focus on a different type of writing.Written August 12, 2020
- riac6190 contributionsVirtual Internship in NepalThis summer I interned with Accessible Nepal, a company focused on bringing people with reduced mobility closer to the beauties of Nepal. As someone who loves volunteering in my own community, it was an amazing experience to step into an unfamiliar place and learn about their lifestyles and customs while completing this internship. This past month, I worked with both Anish and Shiva. They both helped me successfully complete my assignments by checking in with me twice a week and giving me feedback on the work I had completed. With their guidance, I was able to build connections and immerse myself in the Nepali culture. Within this internship, I worked on the social media posts and stories for the Accessible Nepal Instagram page. By doing this, I learned more about marketing and how to address different audiences via social media. I also have created lesson plans for the ages 7-16 on topics such as maintaining a healthy lifestyle and having good behavior. Through these tasks, I learned how to adapt to an online working environment and work collaboratively with the challenges of time zone differences. Overall, I enjoyed my experience with the Accessible Nepal team thoroughly and hope to have the opportunity to visit Nepal soon.Written August 8, 2020

- Judy R0 contributionsKathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara and Annapurna - 15 daysWe had the privilege of designing a trip to Nepal. Santosh of GAP-Nepal was our contact person. He was very patient with our changing ideas and really worked to find us a great trip. I would recommend this organization as a good place to organize a hassle-free vacation. The trip was very organized with experienced guides along the way. Bijaya met us at the airport with a big smile. She was knowledgeable and organized. Our Kathmandu guide, Subods, couldn’t have been better. His knowledge of the temples and culture made a great Day 2. We had a great stay at Hotel Buddha. We spent three days in Chitwan National Park at Park Safari Resort with Ram Bot and Kumah Lama as our guides. Both of these men were very connected to the local culture and loved to share. Ram had an extraordinary ability to hear and spot animals on our jungle trek. Kumah Lama was a real go-getter who has a drive to learn from you as well as teach you about Nepal. I highly recommend these two if you get to Chitwan. Our Annapurna trekking guide came to Chitwan to gather us up and settle us in Pokhara. We were surprised by an unexpected visit from Bijaya and Subods. Family! Sanu was a quiet soft spoken gem. He was saddled with two SLOW hikers but never failed to encourage us. “It’s no problem.” His knowledge of traditional uses of plants for medicine, building, animal fodder was a big plus. His helper Saran didn’t speak English but spoke volumes with his smile. Our tea-houses were oasis’s after long days of trekking. Sanu knew the owners and always seemed very happy to work with old friends. We adjusted our trek mid-stride ( It’s no problem) adding a rest day in the mountains-beautiful scenery and warm sunshine. Our last day trekking included a hike along a dusty dirt road. Sanu decided to call a Jeep! Perfect... Kuti Resort in Pokhara was very comfortable and in walking distance to the lake and shops. A flight back to Kathmandu for one last relaxing stroll through the Thamel shopping district and a delicious Dal Bhat. This was an eye-opening experience. All of the folks connected with GAP-Nepal went above and beyond. We can highly recommend the crew. I felt them really working to make this two weeks our vision.Written April 1, 2019
- josephinedc0 contributionsAmazing experience, very well organizedSo I've been volunteering for 2 months in Nepal and my mother came to visit me. Gap Nepal organized a whole trek for us to Poon Hill, everything was taking care of. Even if I got sick during the trek, they were super reactive and made it really easy for me and we were able to finish the trek in full health!Written November 11, 2018
- Caroline G0 contributionsAmazing, active, and all included planning! This company arranged everything for me! I had one week travelling from Kathmandu to Pokhara to go trekking, and I did not have to worry once! They planned everything for me from Kathamandu and back home again including: 5 days of trekking, meals, accomondation, hotel booking, transportion, and meeting with guide. Everything was very well planned, and was the reason my trip went absolutely amazing and problemfree. Thank You for very much for a high quality of planning, it made me enjoy the trip 100%!Written July 20, 2018
- Jeremy J0 contributionsTerrific company thinks of everythingNepal’s infrastructure is uhmmm still quite challenging :) so what you need is a travel planning and support team who are fully engaged and always thinking one step ahead - Which is what you have here. This is organisation at a level I haven’t experienced anywhere outside Japan, accompanied by great and genuine hospitality and enthusiasm. I was solo on a custom hiking itinerary. Tremendous experience. Definitely going with these guys again !Written May 27, 2018

- Matou_crd0 contributionsNurse internship and amazing tripThank you for welcoming us in Nepal ! We are 6 student nurses and had an amazing experience thanks to gapnepal, the equip listened to our wantings and help us during all the trip. We were in internship in a private hospital during the week and the association organized our week-ends to Chitwan to do safari jungle, Nagarkot to see sunset and sunrise, Pokhara to start the Poon Hill trek and even a week in a village to teach what we could to the children in a school ! An amazing trip thanks to Gapnepal, always here for us, welcoming and smiling people. Hope to come back again soon !Written April 19, 2018
- EverGon860 contributionsExcellent trip to know all facets of NepalWe spend a whole month in Nepal and the Gap Nepal team helped us organize every single aspect of the trip. One of our most important criteria was getting to know Nepal off the beaten track, and they made an excellent plan to show us every bit between China and India: we had the excitement of Holi Festival, luxurious stays in the jungle around Chitwan, a week at social projects with marginated communities, and of course, the amazing Langtang Helambu trek, our travel had everything! Thank you very much and see you next time!Written April 15, 2018

Excellent! Anish was able to accommodate last minute changes, and tried his best to make alternative arrangements due to unforeseen circumstances. Always checking in on how we are doing.
