Other staff members will include one experienced cook and necessary Sherpa staff, mostly assistants who will assist in setting up camps during the climb.
  • This arrangement of staff will ensure the safety of each and every member in the group; also if any member falls ill, the trip will still go ahead as planned. Please also note that the maximum number of people in a group will be 12, as this is the optimum size for a successful trip.
  • It is a condition upon joining any of Himalayan Glacier's trips that all clients be insured for comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and treatment costs). Please note that we don't arrange or sell insurance.
  • The difficulty for Mera Peak climbing is rated 2B. This means that the technical requirement is very basic and includes use of ropes, ice axe and crampons. You are also required to have good cardio-vascular fitness. Mera Peak is not categorized as a technical peak but a bit of technical knowledge would be beneficial for a small section of the climb which is about 50m. This will probably be the toughest part of the climb as the slope is around 40 degrees of ice/snow. Previous experience with using ice axe and crampons is preferred, although not mandatory because a basic ice-climbing training will be provided before the summit. Lots of willpower, the ability to tolerate harsh conditions, reasonable fitness and good health will help in making this trip successful. It is important that participants with pre-existing medical problems or conditions make these known to Himalayan Glacier at the time of booking.

The true test of a Trekking Company - especially in the Himalayas - is how they handle crisis situations. I came down with Mountain Sickness 3 days into my Mera Peak trek and their response was swift and potentially lifesaving. My Sherpa - Min Bahadur Thapa Magar and Porter - Gore Bahadur Rai stayed by my side from the time my illness started until our rescue helicopter arrived Kathmandu and I was ambulanced to a local Hospital. Min stayed late and was back checking on me the next day, as was Himalayan Glacier Founder/Owner Sagar. THIS is when you are happy you didn't "cut corners" when choosing a Trekking Company in a very dangerous corner of the World. This was my second trek with HG and I'll be coming back for more! I cannot thank Sagar and his Team enough for their rapid response in a dire situation. I can also not say enough about Rayuna Shrestha - please ask for her by name as she leaves no stone unturned to ensure a FANTASTIC experience, from initial planning stages until your safe return home. JUST A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE ALL THE WAY AROUND! THANK YOU, HG!

We did Mera Peak and Amphu Lumbcha pass October 2019 with help of Himalayan Glacier trekking company. From the beginning of planning to the very end of this adventure I couldn't be happier. People from this company are truly doing everything to make sure you are getting what you want and you leave with best possible experience. They are really professional at what they doing. My trip was tailor made according to my time frame and a budget. Communication and planning was like a talking to long time friend. Cant say enough thank you to Rayuna and Ashmii for planning and taking care of logistics in the office. At the trekking itself we had two best possible guides, Sherpa Ongchhu and Sherpa Saila, who were making sure we are safe and have the best possible experience in the mountains.
This company is always doing extra step, like surprising me with a birthday cake, which sometimes means a lot, especially when you'e far away from home. Thank You Ashmii for that.
And of course big Thank you to the owner of this company Mr. Sagar. He was realy doing for me much more then he should. He makes me feel like I'm part of his family, like a brother. Thank You again.
Bottom line this company learn it's reputation and it is highly recommended. I've been working with them several times and I will work with them again on my next adventure.
