The trek in advancing to the base of the world's tallest mountain maps out spectacular vistas from such celebrated viewpoints like Gokyo Ri and Kala Patthar. The trek also awards us with great views of the Khumbu Icefall. Trekking to the Everest Base Camp through Gokyo Lakes, in a nutshell, will be a lifetime experience with the enthralling sights of Mt. Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Amadablam, Pumori, and Tengboche Monastery - the largest monastery in the Khumbu region of Nepal.

All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests.
  • Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best months for this trip.
  • In difficult treks you are likely to walk for 6-8 hours, cross steep hilly terrain and occasional high passes with daily ascend and descend of around 500-1000m. You are likely to be on a remote environment with extreme weather in some days where you might be facing high altitude air with low level of oxygen and only basic facilities on some nights. Previous trekking experience, physical fitness and positive attitude are therefore essential.
  • Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with Himalayan Glacier. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required. Please note that often the Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu flight gets delayed by a few hours or may even be canceled for one, two, or more days due to unfavorable weather conditions. Such conditions may arise even in the best seasons. Hence, in such cases, you must be prepared for long waits either at Kathmandu or Lukla airports, as this can happen either at the start or end of the trek or even both! We will do our best to avoid such delays, and arrange the next flight for you. We also organize Helicopter rescue in such conditions, if it is available and upon request by our clients. The helicopter charges around USD 3500 and it can lift 4-5 persons per flight. Still, we suggest you to be prepared for possible delays/cancellations, and if possible to come with some extra buffer days (1-2 days) at the end of the trip to accommodate such delays. If everything runs smoothly and you still have a few days of your buffer days left then you may even engage yourself in optional activities which can be arranged by Himalayan Glacier upon request. The optional activities may include visiting places/landmarks of your choice, adventure sports, shopping, etc. In case the flight delay/cancellation happens at the start of trip and it goes so long that it disturbs your onward travel schedule, you are free to choose an alternative trip such as a trek in the Annapurna, Langtang, or any other region. If you are not interested in the alternative trip and would rather wait for your original preferred trip, you are welcome to wait in Kathmandu for as many days as it takes to get a flight to Lukla. However, please note that there will be no refund, if you lose time waiting at the airport and do not take an alternative tour or you only do a short trek later due to time limitation. If the cancellation happens before the trip, we will provide you accommodation and lunch in a guesthouse in Kathmandu. In case of the flight delay/cancellation after finishing of the trek, you will be responsible for all your expenses. Please also note that you will not be entitled to any refund for the services (such as hotel, transport, flight, etc.) included in the package that you would not use later.
  • We will be accommodated in Yatri Suites & Spa or Hotel Moonlight or Similar in Kathmandu and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 515. Himalayan Glacier will arrange rooms with attached washrooms; however, teahouses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities. Also note that single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu and the trekking regions at lower elevation but it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.

‘Once in a Lifetime Divine Yatra’ to collect the Divine Energies, Blessings and the Aura from Lord Shiva Himself to fulf
Kailash & Manasarovar Yatra of 15 days Tour in Nepal and Tibet. (Sep. 2023) The above Himalayan Yatra was conducted by ‘Family Owned’ business of Mr. Sagar Pandey, the owner, and his extended family with Personalized and Customized attention to each and every Yatri (Pilgrim) on continuous basis throughout the 15 days and beyond. We were served delicious Indian 🤤 meals throughout the entire Pilgrimage via his traveling Indian cook and the staff. They not only provided transportation to and from the Airport but also touring the City of Kathmandu, Lumbini and others along with tailor made Airline, Hotel and Personalized Driver reservations. ‘Cream on the Cake’ indeed! Hospitality by the owner, Sagar Pandey and his entire staff was extremely inviting. I can personally vouch for the owner’s and staff’s genuine attention towards my temporary ill physical health labeled as “High Altitude Sickness” which presented in a display of symptoms of: lack of appetite, Headaches, nausea, fatigue due to loss of electrolytes, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. Of course, all of these ailments were resolved to nil upon return to lower altitudes locations and acclimatization. As I was physically unfit at ~ 10,000 feet altitude, as stated above, a Mount Kailash Parikrama (Circumambulation) for three days at ~22, 000 feet altitude at very cold temperatures was not available to me. However, with “Divine Intervention” from Lord Shiva Himself, Pramila (the owner’s wife) was in dire need of shoes as one of her hiking boots 🥾 had lost its ‘Sole’. This necessitated requirement for balanced boots or shoes. Since circumstances did not allow me to do Parikrama, she asked me if I could lend her my tennis shoes, which I did. Thus, with ‘Divine Intervention’, although my Atman and body were unable to do the Parikrama, my tennis 🎾 shoes did! 🤩 WOW!!! Lord Shiva’s Grace was indeed in full display!! During the Parikrama by other Yatris, I requested to remain in the same hotel in order to rejuvenate and ’Nurse’ my body. Mr. Sagar Pandey, suggested that I move into that room which had a Majestic view of Mount Kailash. Thus, for the next three days and nights, I indulged and immersed in Divinity by Meditating🧘‍♀️ on Mount Kailash, engaging in Pranayama, Yogasans and of course, repeating Japamala Mantra of “🕉 Namah Shivaya” and “🕉Trayambakam Yajama He…..” for numerous times. Again, a Lucky recipient of such Lord Shiva’s Divine Aura and Energy which I basked in. I would highly recommend a “Buddy System” during such Pilgrimages, as I was Blessed with. My two Buddies, Shefali and Geeta, were not only of great Moral Support but also A-Z support during my temporary health impairment. Perhaps, if possible, one could find out one’s tolerance to higher altitudes in advance and train as such in order to prevent such predicaments. I would highly recommend this ‘Once in a Lifetime Divine Yatra’ to collect the Divine Energies, Blessings and the Aura from Lord Shiva Himself to fulfill your Atman. I would also recommend to engage in safety of one’s entire health in every acute manner during the entire Yatra in order not to inconvenience oneself or others. Again, I thank Mr. Sagar Pandey and his entire staff for their acute attention. Thank you for reading the downloading of my unique Yatra, Seema.

    Amazing! Beyond our expectations!
Himalayan Glacier took such good care of us! From the welcome at the airport by our guide, the explanation of our upcoming journey at the office in Kathmandu and then the days on the trek, we could not have been happier! Our guide Man and porter Krishna were super professional. They made sure we were always comfortable and knew what to expect. The health checks at the end of the day added extra re-assurance that we were not going to cause ourselves big issues as we progressed to base camp. The accommodations chosen by Himalayan Glacier were excellent on the luxury trek. The Yeti mountain homes were far better than we were expecting! Above Namche the choice of accommodation becomes more limited obviously due to the altitude. We made a couple of changes to our itinerary along the way and they were gladly accommodated. There is no doubt the trek is challenging, but with Man's support and his understanding of our abilities, we took our time and walked within our own abilities. We would not have made it to base camp without his guidance and support. A big thank you to Man, Krishna, Rayuna (our planner) and of course Mr. Sagar Pandey, CEO of Himalayan Glacier who checked in on us throughout the trip to make sure our expectations were being exceeded.

An incredible experience trekking and climbing Mera Peak with Himalayan Glacier. Our guide - Tenji - was extremely experienced and looked after us from start to finish. The scenery was beautiful, the lodges were comfortable and the people were amazing. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in a slightly more remote trek or who wants to get into mountaineering but doesn't have much experinece.

    Exceptional Service At Every Step
Himalayan Glacier provided amazing service from the planning and prep phase with Prasant to the actual trek to Everest Base Camp and back. Every detail was handled by the company and our wonderful and experienced Guide Ashish G. We received truly white glove service throughout and our guide took excellent care of us ensuring our accommodations were adequate and we always had plenty of great food. The company was able to quickly modify our trek after the airlines caused our luggage to be delayed and they handled ALL the logistics and details around our nightly lodging, food, our general health, local flights, park entry fees, etc. We had several people throughout the Trek ask us about Himalayan Glacier after seeing how attentive and friendly our guide and porter were. An example of this was that I would wake up very early every morning and after realizing this, our guide would also be the first one awake in the tea house with me so he could get me coffee as soon as the kitchen opened. Now that was truly above and beyond! My son got a little sick on the trip and our guide sprung into action instructing the kitchen on what to cook to help him feel better and always putting his health and safety first while he recovered. The Luxury Package was well worth the money as the accomodations were always the best available. The Welcome and Farewell dinners were delightful and a great way to meet other trekkers and the members of the Himalayan Glacier company, including Sagar the owner. I really can't compliment this company enough as I did not have a single complaint or problem the entire time! I would highly recommend this tour group and their guides for this once in a lifetime experience!

My Trekking Experience with Himalayan Glacier
I started my trek with Himalayan Glaciers in mid- May in 2023 when I was 15 soon to turn 16 along with my dad beside me. After I arrived at the airport in Kathmandu our guide, Babu was the first to spot us and give a ride to our very nice hotel. Babu gave us a tour of the surrounding city blocks around the hotel, allowing us to convert money, buy souvenirs, and just show us some general landmarks. When we first arrived to the Kathmandu airport to start our Trek, the weather wasn’t looking good. Cloudy weather all across the live camera showing Lukla (our flight destination). The flights were cancelled, however Babu was quick to find us a way to get up onto the trail. Babu organized a helicopter ride up to a place just below Lukla. Then our trek was started with Me, my dad, Babu, and our porter who was aptly nicknamed “Superman” Nikesh . As we traveled up the trail Babu would mention every mountain peak and every stop, Babu would give us the best of accommodations. Even as we were nearing the top Babu never lost momentum and kept us going. When we reached Basecamp Babu was more than willing to take photos and share the beautiful view with us. Nikesh had come with us and was more than willing to carry our bags, which at that point had become rather difficult to carry with the altitude affecting us. Throughout our whole journey, Babu, Nikesh, and Sagar (the company owner) were very accustomed to tourists and very accommodating and caring. Even when we were tired and grumpy, Babu would keep the energy up and wouldn’t let us keep ourselves down. So all in all I would highly recommend Babu as our Guide, Nikesh as a wonderful spirit and porter, and Sagar as the man who organized the whole adventure and was very kind to us when we were back in Kathmandu. Thank you Himalayan Glacier!

Outstanding Climb to Everest Base Camp
My son and I booked a trip to Everest Base Camp through Himalayan Glacier and it was all that we hoped and more. Our guide, Bobu, was with us every step of the way with the help of our porter Nikesh. Nikesh, who we nicknamed “Superman” carried all of our additional gear and had everything ready for us when we arrived at our next tea house. Any trip has unforeseen challenges but Bobu was flexible and took care of any and all issues that popped up. He was able to quickly find alternative transport when all flights to Lukla were cancelled due to poor weather. A delay like that could have thrown the entire trip off but we were on the trail and back on our scheduled itinerary on day 2. Bobu played the role of fixer, medic, tour guide and photographer along the way. He could not have done more to make our trip a special one. Himalayan Glacier owner, Sagar, put together a great duo for our trip. I highly recommend this team if you’re considering a trip, they truly take care of you and ensure you make it to the top - safe and sound.

    Everest base camp trek.
I trekked to Everest base camp with my guide Deu Ghale and porter Nikesh Khatri. Deu was an amazing guide and helped me every step of the way. Our mantra was slow and steady as we made our way up. Deu was very patient and always willing to share his knowledge of the area pointing out the names of all the surrounding peaks. Nikesh was the best! He was so strong carrying our gear it was amazing. He helped me many times during the hike. He would guide me thru the really tough spots showing me the best way to go and even offered a little assistance when needed with a steady hand. He even returned to the tea house one day when we were on a acclimatization hike and I realized I had forgotten my phone. He was down and back so fast it was amazing. I can't thank these 2 great guys enough. We had tea and cookies every day at 5. Deu would recap our day and go over next days itinerary. We would take our oxygen levels and resting pulse which was great feedback. Nikesh had fresh fruit at lunch and dinner which was delicious! I would recommend Himalayan Glacier to anyone wanting to trek in Nepal. They gave me the royal treatment in every way. Thank you so much!

Entire booking process with the HG team was smooth and easy. They were detail oriented and able to accommodate all my customization requests with ease. Everest Base Camp Trek May 2023
I did the EBC trek in May of 2023 with 5 friends. We had an amazing experience with Himalayan Glacier from landing at the airport to taking back off. Our guide, Aasbir Gurung, was very attentive the whole time to any physical concerns and was fully committed to making sure we were in the best physical health to make it to the top. He even went over and beyond to help our friends do a last minute anniversary ceremony along the trek. I had such a great experience and would definitely recommend Himalayan Glacier/consider doing another trip with them!

Jiri to Gokyo to Everest Base Camp
EBC was on my bucket list for quite some time. Since I am retired and have a lot of time I decided to try a trek that would, at least partially, show me how people were getting to Khumbu Valley before the Lukla Airport was built. I searched the internet and decided to go with Himalayan Glacier. We exchanged emails for almost a year and agents that I was dealing with were very professional, knowledgeable and patient as I was making changes to the itinerary and asking a lot of questions. I was trekking with one of the best guides in Nepal and he was taking very good care of me, making sure I was comfortable with the pace, the accommodations, that I was eating well and drinking enough water/tea. The porter was very good as well, always walking ahead of the guide and myself and waiting with a room key in hand when we arrived to the next teahouse. Everything, from the airport pickup on the arrival to Kathmandu to the celebratory dinner after the trek, was organized perfectly. If I decide to return to Nepal I will definitely be contacting Himalayan Glacier for my next trek.

An amazing experience from start to finish. The team at Himalaya Glacier took such great care of me answering my barrage of questions before I left, their hospitality in Kathmandu and the care taken by my guide Pradeep on the walk itself. Every aspect was meticulously planned and executed. I can't recommend this team strongly enough.

Our Amazing Annapurna Adventure with Himalayan Glacier!
Wow, where do I start? Our trip to Annapurna base camp with Himalayan Glacier was just out of this world! Right from when we landed at the airport in Kathmandu, we were taken care of. The team from Himalayan Glacier made sure everything was sorted for us - from transport to accommodation, it was all handled perfectly. Our guide, Homnath, was the best! He knew everything about the trail, the culture, and always had a positive attitude. His energy was infectious and really made the journey so much more enjoyable. And let's not forget about the awesome porters who worked tirelessly to make our trek hassle-free. The tea houses we stayed in were way better than we expected. They were clean, cozy and the food... oh man, the food was so good. We never had to worry about hygiene or food quality because the Himalayan Glacier crew was on top of it. They checked out the kitchens at every place we stopped, ensuring everything was clean and the food was well prepared. Honestly, we were pretty nervous about this whole trekking thing. But thanks to the professionalism and genuine care of the Himalayan Glacier team, our worries melted away. Instead, we found ourselves having the time of our lives! The whole trip was way beyond our expectations and we're already planning our next trek with Himalayan Glacier. These guys truly know how to put together an unforgettable adventure. Thanks, Himalayan Glacier! Can't wait for the next one!

Very happy with the overall experience provided by the team at Himalayan Glacier. Good communication at the front end answering any questions I had. Both my guide and porter went out of their way to make sure I was cared for throughout the trip. I felt like I had the support I need throughout the entire experience. Regards, Zach.

This was my first time being above 5000 metres and multiple day hike for more than 3 days. I am not that fit :p. Our guide, Ganga (Man) Bahadur Tamang ensure that we are all safe. He was joyful and full of encouragement, and really keen to make his client successful in the climbing.
We all made it to the base camp and no one get sick. Man ensures all of our food and drinks are clean by entering the kitchen himself.
We have the best porter too, Jiban. He assisted carrying my day bag too to help in the Chola Pass and Everest Section when he saw I am struggling.
Both Man and Jiban go far and beyond to make us comfortable, enjoy the trip, and safe. Putting our guide Man phone number here, and photo. +977 984 2868506

I had done a lot of research into companies to choose for completing a trek to Gokyo then over the Cho La Pass and up to Everest base camp. I settled with HGT as I liked the itinerary, the positive reviews and the price. I was not disappointed with my choice. My trek ended up being solo but was still great. It gave me a little room to move with the itinerary as we went which was great.

From the start my contact with Rayuna who was my travel planner sent me a detailed list of things I needed to do and know before coming to Nepal. She also answered every question I had prior to my trek with great detail and effeciency.

On my arrival to Nepal I was met by my guide Sudar who looked after me for the whole trip, always there when I needed him. A highly professional guide who not only would help me out but would help others out if they needed. A lot of other guides also would seek his opinion or help at various stages throughout the trek. Any question I had for him he would answer or find the answer. He knew all the mountains and heights. I was highly grateful to have him as my guide and we devoloped a life long friendship.

Not once on my trek did I feel unsafe or pushed along by Sudar. He was very attentive to all my needs and always making sure that I was doing fine. He also carried and extensive medical kit for any ailments that may occur along the way.

My porter Bir was fantastic, doing all the heavy lifting so to speak. HGT look after the porters that they use which is a major thing for me as some porters on the mountain can be taken advantage of. Bir had all the adequate clothing and equipment to make sure he was safe and well on the mountain. He even had crampons for one of the glacier crossings we did near the Cho La Pass which was good.

The city tour of Kathmandu was great and very interesting, allowing you a day to see the city and its tourist attractions. I had a private car with a/c and another guide who was very informative.

Also the welcome dinner was fantastic. The food absolutely amazing and the dancing and singing from the different areas of Nepal was great to see and hear.
At the end of the trek you have a farewell dinner which was again great, tasty food in a very nice restaurant.

The hotel in Kathmandu, Hotel Moonlight is a very nice place to stay, very clean and free buffet breakfast is a plus. The location is great with it being on the edge of Thamel so not far to walk in and explore.

The trek itself was an amazing experience, acclimatization days are good to help with altitude, the tea houses that you stay in are basic but get the job done for resting and sleeping. The food is fairly good throughout. The best you will get is in Lukla, Phakding and Namche but that being said the food for the most part was good, considering where you are! Dal Bhat is a good option if you are hungry, although altitude does suppress your appetite.
You do spend a few days breaking the 5000m mark which is taxing on the body but a good challenge.

You get several views of Everest on the trek, one of the best is from Gokyo Ri but weather permitting of course.

HGT give you a T-shirt, duffel bag and map of the trek to keep which make great souvenirs.
They also supply you with a warm sleeping bag for the mountain and a down jacket for when it's super cold which I didn't need.

I highly recommend this trip, Gokyo Lakes shouldn't be missed. The Cho La pass climb is tough but such an amazing challenge to complete. Then there is base camp, which is just such a cool place to be, standing at highest base camp in the world. I went on the trek in the middle of May so base camp is busy which is awesome to see. The weather was mostly good with mornings super clear and afternoons cloudy.

Definitely check out this trek if you like a challenge and you want to see some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, you will not be disappointed.

I did this Trek end of April/early May 2023. It was a fantastic experience. Kudos to the Himalayan Glacier (HG) team for their excellent work on every detail of the trip.

When I first reached out trying to decide what trek and company to choose, the sales team (Sriju in my case) was very responsive over email and WhatsApp, sharing lots of information about the itinerary, what to pack and other tips. This really helped me prepare well for the trip.

I liked that HG starts and ends the trip with nice dinners. On the first evening dinner we went through the details of the trip with the Sherpa. On the last evening we reviewed the trip and the HG team (Deepesh, the operations manager) asked for feedback on what could be improved.

The route is perfect. I really liked this itinerary for a few reasons:

1. There are less people going to EBC via Gokyo than the regular EBC route
2. Gokyo is a beautiful place and crossing the Cho La pass was a wonderful experience, just a bit challenging but very rewarding
3. HG does this route clockwise (first Gokyo then EBC) while most other companies do it counter-clockwise (first EBC then Gokyo). It makes the route feel less crowded

My Sherpa was Nurbu. He is an amazing guy, with decades of experience. He has worked for HG over 20 years! He knows the mountains really well, keeps a regular eye on you, makes sure that you move at your own pace without over-exerting and takes really good care of you while at the tea houses.

Our porter was ChinDu. A strong and friendly guy, he made sure that my bag was at the tea house ahead of arriving every day (heard from other trekkers that sometimes they had to wait 1-2 hours till their bag arrived).

I also enjoyed that Sagar (the HG owner) met me for tea in the Kathmandu hotel on the first day to get to know me and wish me a good trip. I could see that he really cares for his customers and for his team. The fact that people like Nurbu have been working at HG for over 20 years is a really good sign. Kudos to Sagar on how he runs the company.

What was my feedback to HG on what could be improved? Just a minor thing…it snowed quite a bit while we crossed Cho La pass. I had asked them if I would need crampons for the trip and they said no. I think that you really don’t need them with light snow or good weather but, in heavy snow, crampons are definitely a good idea!

I look forward to my next trip with HG and to be in Nepal again!

Dear Josep, Namaste! First and foremost, we would like to express our gratitude for choosing Himalayan Glacier Adventure company for your Everest Base Camp Trek and Gokyo via Chola Pass Trek in 2023. As a customer-centric company, we truly appreciate your positive feedback on Trip Advisor and the constructive feedback regarding the crampons needed for crossing the Chola Pass. We assure you that we will make the necessary improvements to address this issue in future operations. We are thrilled to hear that you had an excellent experience during your EBC/Gokyo/Cho La Pass trek with the Himalayan Glacier. The entire team at HG worked diligently to ensure every aspect of your trip was executed flawlessly. From the moment you reached out to us to decide on the trek and company, our sales team, especially Sriju in your case, was highly responsive via email and WhatsApp. They provided extensive information about the itinerary, packing essentials, and valuable tips, which greatly assisted you in preparing for the journey. We take pride in starting and ending the trip with delightful dinners. On the first evening, we thoroughly discussed the trip details with our Sherpa, and on the last evening, we conducted a trip review session where Deepesh, our operations manager, welcomed feedback on areas that could be improved. The chosen route for your trek was perfect, and we are glad you appreciated it for several reasons: The EBC via the Gokyo route attracts fewer trekkers compared to the regular EBC route. Gokyo offers breathtaking scenery, and crossing the Cho La Pass provides a challenging yet highly rewarding experience. HG follows a clockwise route (Gokyo first, then EBC), which sets us apart from other companies that follow a counter-clockwise route (EBC first, then Gokyo), making the journey feel less crowded. Your Sherpa, Nurbu, is an exceptional individual with decades of experience. He has been with HG for over 20 years and possesses extensive knowledge of the mountains. Nurbu ensured your safety, guided you at your own pace, and took excellent care of you throughout the tea house accommodations. ChinDu, our porter, was a strong and friendly companion who made certain that your bag arrived at the tea house before your arrival. We have received feedback from other trekkers who had to wait for 1-2 hours until their bags were delivered, but we are glad to hear that ChinDu provided efficient service. Additionally, we are delighted that Sagar, the owner of HG, took the time to meet you for tea at your Kathmandu hotel on the first day. His genuine care for customers and the team was evident during your interaction. The fact that individuals like Nurbu have remained with HG for over 20 years is a testament to Sagar's exceptional management of the company. As for your feedback regarding improvements, we appreciate your input. It seems there was heavy snowfall during your Cho La Pass crossing, and while we informed you that crampons were not necessary, we acknowledge that they would have been beneficial in those conditions. We will take this into account and ensure that we provide better guidance to future trekkers in similar situations. We eagerly look forward to welcoming you on your next trip with HG and having the opportunity to explore the beautiful landscapes of Nepal once again. Sincerely, The Himalayan Glacier Team

I have just finished the most amazing experience of trekking in Nepal with Himalayan Glacier. The company were always helpful during the booking process. The trip itself was incredible. My guide Man was fantastic. We were looked after so well with hot teas in the morning in our rooms and daily cookies and chats after each day trekking. As well as making sure we were well looked after, Man was very keen to keep us safe, hiking at a suitable pace and ensuring our food was clean and safe.

After the trek we had a celebration dinner with the companies owners who were eager to hear how we had got on.

I couldn't recommend the company more. I suggest you request Man as your guide and you'll be guaranteed a successful and fun trip.

We had a great trip, largely due to the efforts of our guide Ashish. It was well organised and Ashish took care to minimise risk in terns of food and altitude. With nice weather it resulted in a fantastic trip we will remember for years to come. Sure there are cheaper tours around but we got great value in terms of our experience and the inclusion of everything in the trip meaning minimal additional expenses. No fuss, great value highly recommended.

Did the EBC Trek via Gokyo Lakes and Cho La Pass in November/December and had a first class experience all the way! It was just my nephew and I on our trip along with Rishi as our guide and Foo-man as our porter. As promised, Rishi met us at the airport and took care of us until we got back to the airport in Kathmandu. Some of the guest houses were better than others and we found the conditions are little more "basic" the closer we got to EBC but what do you expect. I would highly recommend HGT for a trip as they seemed to be the only ones that carried hand sanitizer with them (may not seem like much but it is very important to have) and also fresh fruit for our enjoyment. Also at each tea break, Rishi provided us with Oreos or other cookies, again not a big deal but what a great unexpected extra. Rishi's English was very good and we had no issues with communication. Another nice touch was that I got worn out on the "optional acclimatization" hikes so our porter gave up his days off and came along with us and carried my back pack. He also carried tea in a thermos for us to EBC to enjoy along the way. I would definitely use a guide for this trip as we noticed some people doing it alone or in groups of two and having difficulty making sure they were headed in the right direction, thankfully Rishi was able to help them out. It is a very hard trip but just remember it is one step at a time and the beauty of the mountains is priceless and enjoy every moment!

My wife and I booked a recent trip to Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lakes and Cho La Pass. We can't express enough gratitude for the wonderful treatment we received from the entire Staff at Himalayan Glacier, (especially Pramesh and Narayan) which greatly exceeded our expectations making this adventure a complete success. Charlie the United States contact stated that from start to finish we would be taken care of and that we were. From when we landed in Katmandu to when we departed, Himalayan Glacier Staff assisted in any way possible to ensure our trip as problem free as it could be. From itinerary changes, Flight adjustments, Airport transportation for our entire stay and other travel needs that might arise. During our time Trekking with our Guide Ashish and assistant Guide Bhakta we were well watched over and all of our needs were met. The conditions on the Mountain in November are challenging, especially dealing with the cold and altitude, their expertise and experience was invaluable. Without it we would not have had the incredible experience we did. The other integral part of this trek was our awesome porters Char and Rhana who carried our duffel bags with 15kg per bag (each porter carried two) up the mountain and had them waiting for us at each stop. We also used Himalayan Glacier to book a trip into Tibet after our Trek, they handled all the necessary travel arrangements from contracting with a tour company in Tibet, securing of a Chinese Visa and providing the do's and don't of travel and behavior while in Tibet. We would, without hesitation, highly recommend Himalayan Glacier and would most definately use them again.
