Fantastic EBC trek with our guide Nima
We had the best experience on this trek with Nima as our guide. He was exceptional in every way and made the entire trek comfortable and easy. I cannot recommend him enough, definitely request him as your guide! This was the trek of a lifetime and so worth it. The views and memories you will make will last a lifetime.

4 Day/3 Night Poon Hill Trek
We had the perfect trek to Poon Hill. We did the 4 day/3 night trek to Poon Hill with our guide Manoj Adhikari and our porter Lok Pandey. We met up with Manoj at our hotel in Thamel one day before our bus ride to Pokhara. Manoj explained to us the overall plan and logistics of the trek and what we would do each day. He was very thorough, telling us about the weather, what to pack, what we could expect and answering any and all of the questions we had. We were a little anxious prior to the trip but after meeting with Manoj we felt much more at ease. He told us not to worry about anything since he would be there to take care of us every step of the way Manoj arrived the next day and walked us to our bus to Pokhara. He would meet us later separately at our hotel in Pokhara. We booked the Deluxe bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The seats were roomy and comfortable, we were given a snack and water bottle at the start of the bus ride and it included a lunch stop at a hotel on the way. The only downsides to the bus were that the AC vents were broken in some seats so look out for those before picking a seat and there hadn't been any wireless internet as advertised on the side of the bus. After staying in Pokhara for a day Manoj and Lok arrived the next morning and we took an all terrain jeep to the village of Hile. The roads were very muddy and steep and we would often go along cliff side roads but our experienced driver handled it perfectly During the trek Manoj and Lok were always looking out for our well being and comfort, always alert and making sure we were having a good time. Whether it was treading on slippery terrain or looking out for leeches they were constantly on the look out. We went during the rainy season so although there were risks of encountering leeches Manoj and Lok were always keeping an eye out to warn us whenever we had them on our boots. Manoj and Lok would tell us stories and explain to us things like the history of the trek or the mountains. They would teach us Nepali phrases and we would joke around. The atmosphere was always relaxed and easy going. Manoj was able to tell us the exact elevation of all the mountains on the Annapurna range by memory, an impressive feat! Lok as our porter carried one big bag which held all the majority of our belongings while we carried a day bag with things like water, snacks, and other necessities. Sometimes we would meet Lok at checkpoints where there were villages but most of the time he would just go up ahead at a slightly quicker pace and then wait for us. He would sit and play music using reeds so we could often hear him in the distance as we approached We were able to set the pace and stop for breaks whenever we liked. Going at a quicker pace would get us to our guest house earlier in the day. Once we arrived we would have lunch/dinner and generally explored the area by ourselves. During the meals, Manoj or Lok would take our order and bring our meals out. At night there's a lot of downtime so we would recommend bringing a book or a deck of cards. On one of the nights we sat and played cards with Manoj and Lok. They taught us how to play Dhumbal, a fun and easy to learn Nepali card game. The trek itself was very strenuous and although we were able to make decent time each day we would definitely recommend being in overall fit/athletic form We would hike during the day for 3-5 hours and end in the early afternoon at the guest house where we stayed for the night. The first 3 days were generally uphill or up what seemed to be endless stairs and on the last day we coasted downhill which still can be tough on the knees and glutes. On the first day we started out in the village of Tikidunga and ended in Ulleri Second day was Ulleri to Ghorepani Third day was Ghorepani to Tadapani Fourth day was Tadapani back to Ghandruk where we took our jeep back to Pokhara. The highlight of the trip was our sunrise trek on the morning of the third day to the top of Poon hill. We woke up at 4am and trekked in the dark with head lamps to around 10,000 ft elevation at Poon hill. Since it was the rainy season there was a huge risk of cloud cover completely obscuring the beautiful views at the top. Luckily we were still able to get a great view of many of the mountains such as Fish Tail, Annapurna I and Annapurna South. The Dholagiri mountain range unfortunately for us was under clouds. Overall we would highly recommend taking this trek. It's a nice short trek for those who can't stay for the 20 day Annapurna Base camp trek. We would also recommend you definitely ask for Manoj and Lok who absolutely made our trek extremely enjoyable and memorable. We could not have asked for anything more. We became very close to them by the end of the trek and can say that they made the trip perfect for us. We saw that the dynamic was very different with other travelers and their guides/porters and luckily with Manoj and Lok we hit it off and it was as if we were trekking with our friends.

    Nagarkot Sunrise Tour
Highly recommend this trip. I traveled by myself with a very friendly guide. Went to see the sunrise over the mountain range which was spectacular but really, the highlight of the day was when a leopard crossed the road in front our car. Amazing. What a great start to the day.

    Everest Base Camp Heli Treck
From the moment we hopped off the plane Nepalese hospitality was everywhere. We were warmly welcomed by representatives from Kathmandu Adventures who promptly took us to our hotel where we were soon greeted by Shree, manager of the tour company. He talked us through our itinerary for the upcoming Everest Heli Trek and assisted in arranging activities / tours for us on the days before the trek began. The Heli Trek consisted of a helicopter flight to Lukla, hiking the track to Everest Base Camp, a helicopter flight from Kala Patthar / Gorek Shep back to Lukla, then to Kathmandua and airport transfers throughout. We were so glad to have chosen the helicopter option. What amazing views we had of the surrounding valleys in the Himalayan range, and it was a much more settling alternative to landing and departing Lukla airstrip by plane. Our guide Ramkumar Adhikari was outstanding. His knowledge of the Everest area (in fact any part of Nepal we enquired about) was second to none. We were his complete priority during all aspects of the Heli Trek – his desire was for us to feel as comfortable as possible and at all times it meant he went above and beyond to ensure this in the challenging conditions. Ramkumar was very helpful with advice and good food options to minimise sickness, and checking our health and wellbeing in relation to diminishing oxygen levels. Our porter Bupal (who was as strong as an ox) was always well ahead of us during the day to ensure our rooms were ready with our duffle bags inside when we arrived. We have the most amazing pictures and memories of our time in Nepal and the Himalayas. Thank you to the crew at Kathmandu Adventures for making our time so memorable by providing many extra touches – meeting family members and sharing a meal with them, cooking school and endless advice and support. We were also impressed with the company’s commitment to giving back to their community - proceeds from the cooking school are donated to supporting a school for the blind. If your are considering a Nepal adventure, be sure to give Kathmandu Adventures the chance to provide that for you.

    Nargakot Sunrise Tour
The Nargakot Sunrise Tour was a very enjoyable half day trip from Kathmandu. One way to beat the local traffic is to get up an hour before sunrise as we did for the drive to the hillside. The last stretch of road up to the top can get a bit bumpy at times so be prepared, they are working on it but then it looks like they might always be working on it? It can get a bit cold at the top, especially depending on the time of year, so wear layers, I saw a few people who were not very happy campers because they dressed too lightly. We got to see the sunrise which was beautiful, it is not uncommon for the weather to prevent this which would be dissapointing but obviously nothing to be done about that. Great views of the mountains but honestly I found the views of the terraced farms, local homes and the Kathmandu Valley on the drive back much more interesting and was very pleased that we were allowed to ask them to stop whenever we wanted to take it all in and take allot of photos. The view of Bhaktapur was enticing and caused me to book a tour there for the very next day. Right after taking in the sunrise we were treated to breakfast at a local Inn perched on the hillside which was quite enjoyable, glad I already had my coffee though. Kathmandu Adventures is a social enterprise that gives back to the community through their activities which added an extra level of enjoyment to the experience and they were very professional in all aspects.

It was decision in last minute and worth every cent. If you wish to escape noisy city, it's excellent option. Service was amazing. Guide Manoj was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I had the best driver and really good weather. Shiva statue is breathtaking. Namo Buddha exceeded my expectations. Monks served us with tea and cookies for free, monastery is amazing. Even driving back to city in traffic jam was nice, because of beautiful day. I highly recommend, because tour gives you opportunity to visit two most sacred places in Nepal and join two religious.

Took a taxi for namo buddha from hotel grand Kathmandu. It costed around 9000 nepali rupees. He came and picked up at 12 and we were back by 7 pm. The trip was not worth it. Very bad road and too much traffic and at the end been to the monestry for some half an hour. So don't put it on your list unless you have no other option. Chandragiri is far better place and has better view.

This was an excellent trip to the Namo Buddha monastery with guide Ram. I highly recommend this half day trip, which also included a visit to the 144 foot Kailashnath Mahadev Statue (Shiva) statue (which was magnificent).
