What is Travelers’ Choice?
Tripadvisor gives a Travelers’ Choice award to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travelers and are ranked within the top 10% of properties on Tripadvisor.
For this Trip you need to be physically fitness and mentally well prepare.  Some days you need to walk 8 to 9 hours, which is more than average walking in a day. It could do just Camping organize trip last three years ago but there is basic Teahouse entire trip now a days.  Mostly, you will stay in Lodge and have food same place (Dhal Bhat=main Nepali food, Fried rice, Bread, Boiled and fried eggs, Potato, Noodles, porridge, tea coffee tec.)  But if you have added some days you may visit the Tsum Valley area also, this is a homestay trip (where you can have the food there at someone's house and provide accommodation). If you have time, I would like to recommend you Tsum Valley too; which is itself a restricted area and open since 2007.   This trip is a combination of culture and religion, which is a unique trip among numbers trekking trails of Nepal.

3 High Passes with trek to Everest Base Camp with Nepal Mother House Trekking Company
Nepal Mother House Treks and Expeditions were recommended by a friend who had used them on a trip to Nepal a few years ago. Our planned trek was crossing 3 high passes with a visit to Everest Base Camp. From the very initial contact with Nepal Mother House, Karna, who runs the company was very quick to reply with plenty of information. Once we had decided on dates and booked our international flights, Karna was once again quick to provide all necessary information required for our trip. Our chosen trek was for 18 days but from experience, I would strongly recommend adding some extra days for contingency especially when international return flights are being booked. For example, our flight to Lukla (where the trek starts) was delayed by a day due to poor weather but we had heard of people being delayed by up to 4 days the previous week. We were met by our main guide, Pratap, at Kathmandu international airport and once we had dropped our gear at our hotel (which Karna had booked), we followed Pratap on the short walk to the company's office to meet Karna in person and discuss the itinerary of the trek and make sure we were happy with everything. Nepal's infrastructure had been very badly damaged due to the earthquake in 2015 and again due to late monsoon flooding this year some of the main roads to and from the capital were severely damaged or impassable. Our flight to Lukla was from Ramechhap which is usually a 5 to 6 hour drive from Kathmandu but due to the flooding, the main road was impassable so we had to endure an 11 hour minibus trip, on the evening of our arrival, following back "roads" to get there. Not the best of starts considering we had spent about 13 hours over 2 international fights and a bit of stop over time. At least our delayed flight gave us a chance for a proper rest in Ramechhap before our trek began in earnest. The flight to Lukla lasts about 20 minutes with stunning views of the region and before you know it you have arrived with a bump ! There were just 2 in our group and as part of the package, we had our main guide and a porter to help carry our gear for the 18 days of trekking. I decided to hire a second porter to help share the load not that we had a lot as you are restricted to what you are allowed to carry on the Lukla flight due to the size of the planes (10kg hold luggage and 5kg hand luggage per person). Our itinerary was a mix of long and shorter days trekking with some rest (acclimatisation) days in between. Due to our days delay in arriving at Lukla, Pratap, our guide asked if we wanted to miss our first days scheduled stop over point and continue further up the Khumbu Valley to our second stop over at Namche Bazzar to catch up time wise. After discussion, we agreed. That was a tough first day !! I wasn't expecting such a variery of path type and condition as we travelled up the valley - some a lot better than expected and as well as trekkers, we encountered porters, donkeys, yaks and horses all using the same route, carrying vital supplies up and down the valley - completely new and wonderful experience. Pratap kept us right when passing these animals on the path and kept our pace slow to allow our bodies to get used to the increasing altitude. We had a rest day in Namche Bazzar which included a walk up to the Everest View Hotel where we had our first sight of Mount Everest which was amazing to see with my own eyes. From Namche it was down to the nitty gritty of daily trekking with jaw dropping views and new experiences along the way. The last section of our first high pass Kongma La was pretty steep in parts and tough but so satisfying once we reached the top and where we were once again met with breathtaking views . We had our first experience of trekking in snow as the upper section on the other side of the pass was covered - I don't think that was expected. We had noticed that our guide Pratap had been hanging back at bit on our decent to our overnight stop and he was quite a bit behind by the time we arrived. He didn't look his usual bright self. By next morning he was really unwell and the call was made to air lift him out and down to a hospital in Kathmandu. All very worrying at the time and uncertainty what to do next. Once again Karna was at hand on the end of a phone this time to discuss what next. It was agreed that we would carry on and Kishor, who was our primary porter and trainee guide would take over the leading role. Although his understanding of English wasn't as good as Pratap's, he did a brilliant job for the remainder of the trek - getting us to the Everest base camp of 1953 and over the 2 remaining high passes - Cho La (my favourite for the variety of terrain including walking over a glacier) and finally Renjo La, before starting our return leg back to Namche Bazzar and then Lukla. My first visit to Nepal and I had a fantastic experience trekking with Nepal Mother House. The three high passes were tough for me but the whole experience was phenomenal and "breathtaking". Being in the mountains you need to remember and accept that sometimes things don't go according to plan and you need patience and trust in the company you are with to see you through. Karna and his team were there for us every step of the way and I would thoroughly recommend Nepal Mother House for any trip anyone was considering in Nepal.

          Great experience!
Nar Phu Valley Trek with Annapurna Circuit We had a great trip! Jayram and Kishor took very good care of us. The trekking was beautiful and our guide could give us a lot of information about the mountains, wildlife and Nepali culture. The food was good and they provided us the best accomodations during the trip. We felt safe and our guide was well informed about the circumstances during the trek.

3 Passes Trek - You can’t go wrong with Nepal Motherhouse
I did the 3 passes trek with Nepal Motherhouse and they were a delight. Karna was very responsive and set everything up perfectly. I met my guides Aidhan and Ratnam in Lukla and for the next 3 weeks they looked after me like family. Highly recommended and plan to book again!

Amazing professional , knowledgeable and friendly company
Nepal Mother House Treks is such a fantastic , friendly , fun , professional, knowledgeable and caring company - look no further 🙏🏻 Having both travelled extensively we can honestly say this was our best holiday ever and truly an experience of a life- time . It was all down to the company - mainly two things . Karna and Sab . Prior to booking , we explained what what we liked and were looking for and from this Karna planned an amzing trip for us and was so flexible with our last minute change of plans . He really understood our needs and the trek was so well tailored - neither too easy nor too difficult . Karna was also easiy contactable when we first had to learn how Nepal worked !! Sab , our guide , as we nick named ,him was bloody fantastic. . He also gave us nicknames - Didi and Bainewhich again added to his personal touch . His cheeky sense of humour shone throughout and he made sure we enjoyed every step of the way . Sab chose excellent accomodation which cooked the freshest food ( not many other companies did this ) .Sab also cooked for us one night when the chef was off in a lodge and his Momos were the best we have ever tried 👏👏. We not only learnt about the Annapurna trail from Sab but also how life and nature is … and the odd word in Nepalese - including one we can’t repeat 🤪 We can’t recommend Nepal mother house trek enough and its people - we certainly will sending friends and look forward To returning and trying out a different trail

Nepal Mother House and Jay are amazing!!
I cannot recommend Nepal Mother House and Jay as a guide highly enough. Before the trip began they worked with us to customize an itinerary based on our time constraints. Jay could not have been a better guide and our porters were truly great. When we encountered difficult travel conditions at Lukla while trying to return to Kathmandu the team worked wonders to get us to our flights home on time. Nepal Mother House and Jay made our trip incredibly special and memorable. If you are considering exploring Nepal I urge you to use Nepal Mother House and request Jay as your guide.

          Great!
We had a wonderful time doing the Annapurna basecamp circuit. Karna was very helpful and responsive during the planning! And Pratap was a great guide, looking after us all the way round. We would definitely recommend, and look forward to our next trek!

          Incredible travel experience
My wife and I did the Manaslu Circuit with side trips from late September to mid October, lasting 20 days. It was a fantastic experience for both of us! It was certainly the richest, most challenging and rewarding travel experience I’ve had, and we are very grateful to Karna, our guide Jayram Magar and our porter, Kishor. Karna was very helpful in providing all the information we needed, responding very promptly to any enquiries, and there were no hassles when we decided to change our itinerary to the Manaslu Circuit with side trips about a month out, instead of via Tsum Valley. We’re really glad that we made the change, as having the side trips factored in gave us a lot of flexibility to make changes to the itinerary as needed during the trek. Once you’re on the track you’re in the hands of your guide and porter, and we couldn’t have been happier with both. Within a week, we had created a strong bond as a team, and by that time Jay was saying “We are family”, so naturally the Sister Sledge song became our anthem! Our first real challenge was the side trip up to Serang Gumpa. Apart from climbing almost 1000m in a day, there were hundreds and hundreds of steep steps we had to climb in steady rain (the first day of the terrible Nepal floods). It was also the first time hiking up to 3000m for both of us. We stayed 2 nights at the Gumpa and it was a glimpse into a culture (Tibetan Buddhism) which was much as it would have been for hundreds of years, except for the mobile phones! The setting is absolutely extraordinary and the full day we spent there was unforgettable. As a result of the floods, there were many landslides on the track back to Bihi Gaun after our stay, and 2 sections especially were hair-raising, with only a sliver of unstable track left and a steep drop of hundreds of metres to the river below. Jay and Kishor showed great skill and care in keeping us safe, for which we were very grateful. Although we didn’t end up doing 2 of the longer, very demanding side-trips, the upside of this was the flexibility it gave us in adapting our itinerary to suit our needs. Jay was very helpful in making suggestions when we would discuss the plan for the next day, so that we ended staying in places that worked really well for us and going at a pace that was manageable. Although we were both very fit, the reality of being in your early-to-mid 60’s is you don’t have the same energy and drive as a 20 yr old! The biggest day on this trip is undoubtedly getting over Larke Pass, which we managed after a great deal of difficulty for myself( a combination of factors). Jay stayed with me the whole time, gently making some helpful suggestions that made a real difference to me getting over the pass. We again changed the itinerary so that I didn’t need to walk any more that day after getting down from the pass, and the rest of the trek worked out beautifully. Something I wasn’t prepared for was how rich and wonderful the cultural experience was, both in terms of cultural understanding and interpersonal encounters. The mountains really sang to us and so did the culture and people of these Himalayan valleys. The originally planned post-trek celebration dinner (included in the package) became a celebration lunch in the following week, which suited us all better. And we had a wonderful time eating Tibetan food and enjoying a special Tibetan drink afterwards. We highly recommend Nepal Mother House treks! We would walk with them again in a heartbeat! Big Walk, great views.
Amazing experience. At the start of the trip we lost a few days waiting on the weather in Lukla (heavy cloud grounding flights) Our guide Kul managed to make up the time, we walked longer days and did acclimatisation hikes when we arrived at the end of each day. We made it to EBC on schedule and managed to make our flight out of Lukla as well, amazing work Kul! Obviously the landscapes are amazing, every day you are walking through surreally beautiful mountain landscapes. The temperature and kind of environment changes a lot from the start to the end of the hike. Initially you walk through lush and shaded pine forests which give way to alpine deserts and finally rocky mountainsides. The accommodation covers your basic needs and we rented sleeping bags from Nepal Motherhouse which was definitely something worth doing, especially on the colder nights. The whole experience was as smooth and easy as walking to Everest Base Camp can be. Would recommend!

          ♥️ Langtang valley trek - as a family! ♥️
♥️♥️ Please book with these fantastic people! You couldn't be in better hands with Karna and his team! We booked the Langtang Valley Trek online and immediately had a warm contact with Karna. Once in Nepal, we met Karna in person, but also with guide Jayram and porter Sumon. We couldn't have asked for a better experience with nicer people! We are a family with an 11 year old boy. We had the best time hinking the valley, 'climbing' the mountain, seeing the animals and great views. Very easy for our boy, a little harder for us 😉. EVERYTHING was arranged very well. They thought of every detail during the trek (but also during the rest of our trip in Nepal). Nice accommodations, tea and lunch stops, trekking poles (which I thought I wouldn't need, boy was I wrong!) etc. We didn't have to lift a finger, just put one foot in front of the other. Thanks again for the great time we had as a family - we would highly recommend others to book with you! ♥️♥️

Highly recommend Nepal Mother House for a professional EBC trekking experience
Can't recommend Nepal Mother House Treks enough. From the initial contact with Karna via email regarding our custom trip for the Everest Base Camp trek, to making a few changes along the way (and even during the trek), everything was handled professionally and without issue. Airport and hotel pickup/dropoff was also handled without any question and we were greeted warmly. Myself and my father opted for the drive in EBC trek and our guide, Jay, and porter, Audiraj, couldn't have been better. The first day of trekking took its toll on my father's old knees, but with Jay's patience and experience of many (25 successful!) EBC treks we reached our day 1 guesthouse. The following few days we took it slow to help my father recover a bit and with Jay's guidance we successfully reached EBC according to schedule! Along the way Jay couldn't have been more helpful with taking our breakfast, lunch and dinner orders at the guesthouses (and organising a melon/apple with pomegranate desert each night), taking strategic tea stops during the trek and explaining clearly the trekking plan for the following day. Jay's English is superb, he has alot of local and cultural knowledge and was able to answer any of our random questions along the way. Also hats off to Audiraj for carrying the majority of our gear there and back! I will be fully recommending Nepal Mother House Treks and Jay to my brother and his partner (and anyone else) when they come to do the EBC trek (or any other trek in Nepal). When I am back for some of the other treks I will also be using Nepal Motherhouse again! Massive thanks to Karna, Jay and Audiraj for making our EBC trek a successful and memorable experience!

          Langtang 7 days Trek Private
We took 7 days Langtang Valley Trek with Nepal House Mother. There is nothing we can complain, as we are very satisfied during the whole trip. During the trip we were accompanied by our lovely guide, Jay and helper, Kishrul. Karna the owner was also very helpful in providing pre arrival information . Our trip was lovely, pleasant and wonderful. Both of them are very professional, kind and nicest people we ever met in Nepal. I was travelling with my 60 years old dad who has knees problem. We felt safe as both of them took care of us very well. Everything was well organized, from the accomodation, meals and transportation. Surely we will choose Nepal House Mother along with Jay & Kis for our next Nepal trip in the future.

Cultural and natural treasures: Kathmandu and Annapurna Base Camp trek.
From the moment we arrived at Kathmandu airport, we felt like we were visiting friends. Karna warmly welcomed us with marigold lays, drove us to a charming hotel and in the morning we started visiting the Kathmandu Valley with a knowledgeable guide. Prior to starting the Annapurna Trek, we saw all the mandatory historical and cultural sites, with all the rides and meals organized for us. I read that roads, and flights inside of Nepal are unpredictable, and it was a great relief, not to have to worry about delays, because somebody else took care of everything. For example, our flight to Pokhara was delayed, which could interfere with our itinerary, yet Jayram, our guide, organized transportation to make up for the lost time, so that the next morning, everything was back on schedule. The trek itself was beautiful, gradually ascending through Himalayan valleys, until we arrived at the Annapurna Base Camp. Every day, the views were spectacular, each day, unique, and different from the previous one. Our guide and porters, Kishor and Vijaya, took care of us, as if in every lodge they were welcoming us in their own homes. In the end, I don’t know what made the biggest impression on me: the grandeur of the mountains, the clarity of the sky or the care of the Nepali people. Overall, it was a great cultural adventure."

          Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Embarking on the Annapurna Base Camp trek was an unforgettable adventure. The entire experience was exceptionally well-organized, thanks to a capable guide and reliable porters who made the journey smooth. The breathtaking views along the trail, especially at the base camp, left me in awe. From lush forests to the majestic Annapurna peaks, every step was rewarded with nature's grandeur. The trek not only tested my endurance but also provided a profound connection with the stunning landscapes of the Himalayas. Undoubtedly, a must-do trek for any avid adventurer seeking a perfect blend of challenge and scenic beauty. Karna is very experienced and did excellent job organizing our adventure.

Karna was extremely friendly and professional throughout our entire trip in Nepal. He made the entire process so seamless and easy for me and my group.

Jaya is an incredibly funny and knowledgeable guide - always laughing, dancing and singing along the trek.

Kishor and Ganesh never failed to impress us with their speed and strength while carrying over 20kg on their backs. Both porters were always so quick to help the second they spotted any of struggling with anything.

Despite only knowing the crew for less than two weeks, we all built such a strong bond together and felt like a family in the end 🫶

I cannot recommend Nepal Mother House enough!

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish: crazy bumpy ride in jeep, subtropical vegetation in the lower parts, bath in ice cold stream, waterfalls, hanging bridges, teahouses, snow covered peaks, a hint of the altitude sickness, just enough to tell you you're halfway between the sea level and the 8000ers' summits, herds of yaks, a match of football with Nepali porters on the stone courtyard of the school in Shyala, stars and sunrise during ascent to the Larke Pass. And Bom - a great guide. Bom, thank you, it was a great trek. Looking forward to walking with you again.

I would highly recommend Nepal Mother House Treks & Expedition. Our Manaslu circuit trip was handled amazingly from the start to finish. They took great care of us making sure we arrived to and forth Kathmandu and the airport.

The trip itself was managed by an excellent guide who kept us informed about what we would expect along the journey and made sure we were fed, happy, and comfortable along the whole journey. This trek would have been daunting without him.

We also hired some porters to help us carry extra luggage along the way: Their upbeat nature and helpful attitude never stopped. They made sure we were comfortable as much as they could whilst carrying most of our weight.

If you want to do a trek with an experienced group of hard-working, friendly and hospitable team then you must choose Nepal Mother House Treks & Expedition. I promise on the mountain you will be thankful to have such a fantastic team with you!

Incredible trek led by Karna, Jay, Kishor and Ganesh. Everyone was incredibly supportive and helpful and ensured our health and safety every step of the way. We are so fortunate to experience this trek led by this team. They spent the first day with us to help us with our permits, gear and debrief us on the days ahead - this was incredibly helpful. We had so much fun as a group as well - happy spirited and uplifting energy from this company! 100% recommend to anyone interested in trekking in Nepal.

Our porters; Kishore & Ganesh were incredibly deligent, yet a joy to spent time with too.

My wife and I recently completed a 23 day trek around Manaslu with Nepal Mother House Treks and were very pleased with the overall experience. Karna, our trekking agent, was exceptional in organizing and tailoring the trek to our specific needs given we are an older couple and wanted to ensure we had amble time to acclimatize and take in the additional side trips the circuit had to offer. Our guide and porters were extremely friendly and always made sure our safety and comfort were a top priority. With Nepal Mother House you get a very competitive price but what stood out for us, was an experience that allows you to go off the beaten path and be immersed in the real culture.

Karna Rana was very professional during the booking and preparation. The guide Sabut and his cousin porter Ganesh were very kind, easygoing and knowledgeable. They were friendly with hotel owners and I felt included when eating with them in the kitchen. Although the mountains were often cloudy in the afternoons, we had good views during mornings and only two days of light rain among the 19 days of the trek. I really enjoyed the side trips to Serang Gompa, Kal Tal, Hinang Gompa and Pungyen Gompa. I had heard of Milarepa caves in Samagaon, and Sabut, with the help of local villagers, was able to find them. Very recommended guide, porter and trekking agency!

Dear Etienne Namaste! Thank you very much for sharing your unforgettable experience on the 19-day Manaslu Circuit Side trip with our guide, Sabut Magar, and Porter Ganesh through the TripAdvisor Review. Your experience the entire trek in the Manaslu circuit through the Larkya La Pass seeking the spiritual places in the Pubri Valley at Manaslu such as visiting the Serang Gompa, Kal Tal, Hinang Gompa, and Pungyen Gompa, and Milarepa caves in Samagaon and the birthplace of the Mingyur Rinpoche and his childhood playground. In contrast, visit the Birendra Lake and Manaslu Base camp. Sharing your experiences is not only telling the story, but it will also guide the spiritual seekers in the Himalayas on an adventure journey with a unique rich culture. Once again, Thank you very much for your review on TripAdvisor. I greatly appreciate your support. I look forward to seeing you soon. Best Regards, Karna Rana

The communication with the office was always smooth
        and everything was well organized.
I really enjoyed my trek of the Manaslu circuit and Tsum valley with Pasang. He is an excellent mountain guide, funny, entertaining, and very knowledgeable.
There was also so much wildlife he spotted which I would have never seen without him. During the trek, he proposed to adapt the route according to the weather, which was not always the best. This turned out to be exactly right and a sensible choice.
In addition, he is a great ambassador for Nepali culture and explained so much about the different cultures, languages, foods and traditions we encountered on our way. Here it helped that he speaks so many local languages, that allowed him to translate between the locals (not always speaking Nepali) and me.
All the best and thank you so much, Pasang!!
