This was the most organized tour I have been on! From the airport pick-up to the very end of the trip Indira and Ram were so very helpful and communicative. Everything was so smooth and seamless! Ram was our tour guide throughout our 13 day trek and he was beyond patient with me, kind, I never felt rushed, he was very attentive, and knowledgeable and made us comfortable our entire trek. I highly recommend booking with them for any tour, as they are locals, knowledgeable, and very kind!

It was the most unforgettable experience of my life. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to see such amazing things. Without a doubt you should definitely hire the services of a trekking company, they know what they're doing, and really help make the adventure go as smooth as possible. Lok was an incredibly knowledgeable and friendly guide. We really appreciate everything him and his team did for us. Without them we would have been lost for sure. A big thanks to everyone at Icicle Adventures

Namaste! Our trip had two parts, most of it was trekking across Tibet and the then we opted for an additional day in Kathmandu. When we were in Tibet, our guide was contracted out by Icicles because it's the law to have only Chinese or Tibetan person. Though this guide got us to places on our itinerary and took care of the hotels and guest houses for us, he wasn't considerate to our needs on the road and only cared for himself. In the service industry, he should have been courteous as to tell us why we were stopping every few miles (instead of just hopping out so he could pee beside the van). This frequency had me wondering if he has kidney problems, which one of my travel buddies has and he didn't have to go as often. The guide walked so fast too when we were at sites while my mom walked with a cane and we were all struggling to breathe. At high altitude, aren't we supposed to take it easy? The temperature inside the van was also a constant battle because he would roll the window up or down whenever he wanted, even though we complained more than once. The restaurants were "safe" in the sense that all the tour groups met at the same restaurants, at the same time, and the guides all sat together to eat their free meals. It would have been nice to interact more because in the van, he only spoke to the person in the passenger seat. What about the rest of the van? Despite the lack of quality in his service, the things that we saw, when we did see things, were excellent. The few minutes (literally) when we were on Everest annoy me too because we should have left earlier in the day, rather than heading out to see it so late. It was already evening and the fog covered everything! We weren't even allowed to go to Base Camp, due to Chinese government closing it until further notice for clean up. I seriously saw so many tourists littering; it was disgusting. The most memorable and favorable part was trekking with my family and friends in the small van, so I guess that's something.

The end of the overland tour was in Kathmandu. We finally found the YETI! Thank you to Indira and her team (her startup company 🙌) for taking such great care of us, remotely in Tibet and personally in Nepal, and for replying to all my hundreds of emails so quickly and respectfully. Her husband gave us a day tour that felt like we were good family friends of theirs, and he was so knowledgeable without being a Mr Know-It-All as well as being so respectful and considerate of our well being! This is what I expected the whole trip to be. It’s a shame not everyone in this world is like this. Her business partner provided our most comfortable stay in his hotel. Every time he saw us, there was a welcoming hello or goodbye, and he wanted to know how we’re doing with our tour and our stay. And that rooftop view was spectacular! Icicles Adventure Trek and Tour also gave us team jerseys, and it’s true that “teamwork makes the dream work”. We had the most amazing adventure that we’ll never forget. Thank you!

Thank you for your detailed review. We have to admit sadly that chinese guides are not that welcoming and friendly to travelers compared to Nepalese guides. They seem like they don't care, I think this maybe like their nature?? their culture??. Anyway we have to take help of chinese guides as per the system. Despite this you seem to have enjoyed the experience, I appreciate that. Of course everyone in the world is not same. Nepalese guides, specially Icicles Adventure's guides are all friendly, professional, knowledgeable and serve their guests welcomingly always with a smile. Thank you for your review and appreciating Icicles Adventure's team work. We look forward to your "comeback"

Shiva Shrestha and Prakash Chhetri were our guides. It was our first mountain trek and it will never be forgotten. We had some problems about the acclimatisation process but they helped us get through it. Espacially when we needed to get down they really came in clutch. I have nothing but positive things to say about them and the "ICICLES" team. It was truly an experience, one that would have been not as enjoyable as it was if it wasn't for the "ICICLES".

Just completed the Everest Base Camp trek with my 81 year old father in law! This company is great, you can’t go wrong. We got great hospitality and care from the moment we landed to the moment we left. We were set up with an excellent and very experienced guide who was attentive to my father in law and ensured he was well cared for while also ensuring that the other trek members had everything we needed. We did the EBC overnight, and was I shocked to find that we actually spent the day and evening with climbers! It was a true Base Camp experience. Add in the fantastic tour of Kathmandu as well, and this company did it all. Highly recommend them for your trek!

We are so thankful we found Icicles Adventures Treks! It's easily tempting to book through a company in your local country to ensure you'll get a quality experience. We were happy we managed to find a Nepalese company to support instead.

Things started very well with Indira providing great communication via email and being very accomodating in organising a private trek for my friends and I with a custom itinery. No question was too much, and the trek was revised a few times, and never seemed to be a problem for them.

The actual experience from the management team and our guide and porters was second to none! Not only did we have an amazing guide and porters, but the care they put into looking after their staff was also good to see. We had a trainee guide (who has experience elsewhere, was just learning the Everest trek) as one of our porters and was great to see the company helping her get promoted onto the bigger tours. Our other porter was a local in the area, so great to see this company helping put money into the local area.

Our guide, Lok, had over 20 years experience in the region! He was very knowledgeable and ensured our safety and the entire team's safety at all times. He work tirelessly throughout the entire day - from when we got up, until we were finished for the night. He and the team ensured we were well fed and cared for any needs we had. The teams assistance and experience played a massive part in ensuring we reached our goals on this trek with minimal issues. From checking in on our health on a regular basis, to recommending which food choices were ideal during each meal, they certainly went the extra mile to look after us.

I also unfortunately did get sick on the first day (probably something from Kathmandu), and Lok's gentle and caring nature made me feel a heap better and helped get me through that first nasty day. I can't praise Lok's experience and attention to us enough. Being the slowest walker in our group, Lok also hung back and made sure I was ok and going at a pace suitable for me. Any time we hit some difficult sections, he was right there to help me across, or catch me when I stumbled.

We also noticed the little things that our team did that other tour guides didn't. It seemed that we always got the better rooms wherever we stayed (and it seemed we stayed at the better teahouses). I noticed that one of our porters would always check our rooms after we left to make sure we left nothing behind (which in one case we did, so we were thankful we didn't lose something!). They were also checking the kitchen to ensure we would get quality meals throughout the trek.

Lok was also a very encouraging guide through his own quiet and gentle nature, great for a laugh and joined in on our fun (and helped create some fun as well). The rest of the team would join in as well and it felt like a little family completing a big journey.

I can't recommend this company enough for any Nepalese treks, and hopefully you might be lucky enough to get the very experienced and capable Lok!

Thank you for a wonderful review highlighting the total commitment of all our team to caring for our guests. This is key to our approach and one of Nepal's nicest attributes - the unaffected, unforced charm of her people. There is a Sanskrit saying "Athiti Deva Bhava" meaning Guests are Gods - and this is naturally taken to heart at Icicles Adventure. Thank you again from whole Icicles Adventure Team and we look forward to your next time.
