Taudaha to Champadevi Day Hiking around Kathmandu

By Himalayan Advisor
The Taudaha to Champa Devi Day Hike is a delightful day trip to the top of Champa Devi Hill to see the beauty of the Himalayas as well as the Bagmati River Valley below. Taudaha Lake teams with fish and is a popular place for visitors. Champa Devi Hill rises to an elevation of 2278 meters and is the third-highest of the hills that ring the Kathmandu Valley. It is a relatively easy hike to the top where there is a sacred temple dedicated to the goddess Devi and is a popular pilgrimage destination for both Hindus and Buddhists. Trek through dense pine forests to reach spectacular overlooks of the mountains and valley below. In the area are Buddhist monasteries as well as Hindu temples that your guide will share with you. You travel by private car. The hike takes about ½ day, then spend the rest of the day seeing some of the religious and cultural sites in the area.

Exceptional UNESCO Heritage tour with Shanti, the guide extraordinaire
I was fortunate to have Shanti as my guide for the full-day UNESCO Seven World Heritage Site Tour. Shanti knew so much about each site, as well as points of interest along the drive to each location. Prior to the tour, she reached out to me to confirm the pickup location and time, as well as what to make sure to bring. Shanti arrived on time, and then we spent the next nine hours touring so many sites and seeing one-of-a-kind Temples and historical locations. One thing I did appreciate, as this is my first time in Nepal, was that she helped me know where it was appropriate to take photos, where it was not, what spaces I could enter, and which ones I could only look at from the door. The entire experience was great, and I have nothing but positive things to say about her, as well as our driver. Also, great suggestion on where we stopped for lunch.

          Impressive day and tour!
I had a great, rewarding and also tiring day. Kabita picked me up at 700 AM and showed me the seven UNESO heritage sites. She was eloquent, friendly and knew her way around. One of the most impressive sites was the Pashupatinath temple, where people were cremated. The trip went by a convenient car and excellent driver. Highly recommended!

          Must do in Nepal!!
This was an amazing tour! We learned so much from our tour guide, Shanti, while experiencing the rich culture in Kathmandu. If you are going between this tour with a cheaper one, you MUST do this one. Each temple and square had unique characteristics that Shanti was able to explain. She answered most of our questions before we could ask them! We got to see a Rice Ceremony for a baby and an 84th birthday celebration just while eating lunch. We did this tour on the first day of our trip to Nepal and so glad we did! We were very interested in buying a Thangka painting and Shanti took us to an art school were you can watch them work and buy the master or students artwork. They even gave us the stories for each painting.

excellent, knowledgeable guide, who has a true academic understanding about the history of Nepal
I did the tour with Sarita as my guide and she did a great job taking me around all the important temples in the greater Kathmandu area. Sarita was very informative and clearly explained to me all the stories of the people who lived in the kathmandu valley starting from 4th century and onwards

For those who have limited time in kathmandu
It was perfect, Shanti, our guide has all the knowledge possible to explain every detail in each step we were. The timming in each place was good. The driver was always on time, it was a really good experience for those that don't have much time to visit it all.

          Great experience!
Wonderful experience going up to Chandragiri Hills with Shanti, our tour guide. The cable car ride was smooth. The skies were not clear on the day we went but we still had a great time and beautiful views of the city and temple. Shanti was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. Would recommend.

          Fantastic trip
Really great trip. Kind and considerate company. When I was sick on the day of my tour, they happily postponed it for me and I booked the next day at short notice. Ananto was an excellent guide. He let me take things up my own pace and he was also very spiritually and culturally aware. He knew a lot about Namo Buddha and shared his knowledge. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and I highly recommend him.

          Om Shanti Shanti!
If I could put here 100 stars instead of 5, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Shanti, your guide on 7 Heritage UNESCO trip - is a star herself. Professional, polite, attentive, service-minded, smart and knowledgeable, I was so lucky to have her on my first day in Kathmandu. It’s worth every penny you pay for your private tour. I felt so welcome and safe during the whole day, this matters for solo travelers! It’s a lot of information to digest at once but at the same time it’s the best way to see all in one if you are limited in time and your guide will make sure you don’t get too tired or bored, always checking on you and leading with good pace. Shanti took great care of myself and my needs, and I’m very grateful she was my guide in creating all those amazing memories. Visiting Nepal was my dream since a while and this tour showed me so many reasons to fall in love with Nepalese culture. Thank you guys for this smooth experience, special thanks to Shanti!

          Friendly and courteous
Wanted to cover the most important heritage sites of Kathmandu in a day, since I only had one day to spare. The guide Mr. Anant is an excellent guy who knows a lot about the places to be covered. Very friendly and knowledgeable guy. Always enquiring if I understood what he said.

Full Day Tour Unesco Heritage Tour Kathmandu
I was fortunate enough to have a private tour of these amazing Temples. My host, Shanti, was a pleasure to have as a guide. She is very informative and knowledgeable and went out of her way to make sure that I was safe and well looked after. We were lucky to have Hindu and Buddhist festivals on the day we visited so there was lots to see. A special mention to our driver as well (Gorgon?) who was very patient in the crazy traffic and a very safe driver. It is a 'full on' day covering all of the Unesco sites but for someone like myself who was short on time, it was good to see it all in one go. Thankyou Shanti !

          Perfetct Experience!
If you plan a trip to Nepal book this tour immediately! We had a whole day trip in Kathmandu with a comfortable and air conditioned car. The service and the guide is great and well informed about everything. Especially try to get guidance from Mr.Ananta as a guide if possible. He is a an excellent guide, very helpful, kind and he always thinks one step ahead and provides you with a well informative history of Nepal. We had great fun and spent a great day that will never be forgotten.
