- 954harin0 contributionsWhat a supper moments in NEPAL at himalayaI recently completed the 12-day Manaslu Circuit Trek with Mount Mania Treks and Expedition, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the entire team was incredibly professional and attentive. The trek itself was breathtaking, offering stunning views and a true sense of adventure. But what really made the trip special was the exceptional support provided by Mount Mania. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The entire staff went above and beyond to ensure our safety and comfort throughout the journey. I highly recommend Mount Mania to anyone considering this trek or any other adventure in Nepal. They truly offer a top-notch experience that you won't forgetsWritten August 1, 2024
- 210giangt0 contributionsIrresponsible and inexperienced companyI and my partner booked a long-day trek with high passes/cols (over 6000m) with them. We are totally disappointed in how they handle the issue and prepare for the trek despite it is known as one the hardest trek in Nepal - As itinerary, we should start the trek on May 1st as we landed in Kathmandu on Apr 29th. But they told us to start on May 2nd because their porters were not ready on May 1st. So we had 1 day delay because of unknown reason, very less-prepared - Our guide is a nice person but his English is very limited that makes our communication very difficult. Many times, he wrongly understood our points. He rarely talked with us during the trek and even didn’t pointed out for us the famous mount (until the very last day) which is one of the destination of the trek althought we asked about it for the whole trek??? Sometimes, he trekked so fast to talk with locals and left us behind so we didn’t understand what is the point of a guide who should be your partner of the whole trek - Initially, they said that our guide had a satelite phone so if we had any problems during the trek, he can call to arrange a rescue. However, when we were at nearly 6000m, our guide told us that the satelite phone was out of battery so we cannot trek further. Since we trekked slowly, if we have any problems while we trekked, he cannot call a rescue. It forced us to go back. How can we go up if we don’t have any kind of contact for emergency. The trek was failed at that point because of the useless phone. What a ridiculous reason!! After we went back to the basecamp, the phone was charged but still cannot be used. It has been never worked during our trek and we had to call by another phone of the basecamp manager of another company - Lastly, because of our headache, the guide called (by another phone of another conpany) for us a rescue helicopter to Lukla. He said that we will be checked by a medical team in Lukla for insurance but it never happened. We cannot claim for the insurance we bought and provided to them in advance of the trek because of their inexperience of insurance and less-prepared of equipment To sumup, I don’t think this company is capable of long-day trek, or at least our trek/this particular route. They are inexperience and irresponsible for solving issues which creates the failure and damage of the trek and clientsWritten June 30, 2024
- 430allyc0 contributionsA Breathtaking Adventure on the Manaslu Circuit TrekMy partner and I had the most amazing experience on the Manaslu Circuit Trek in April 2024. We can't thank Mount Mania team enough for taking us on this truly unforgettable adventure. Over 14 days, we journeyed through the Nepalese Himalayas and crossed over the Larke Pass at an elevation of 5106 meters! The trek had some of the most stunning landscapes we have ever seen. Each day brought new vistas even more breathtaking than the last. The panoramic views from the Larke Pass were a highlight, offering an unparalleled sense of accomplishment and awe. One of the most enriching aspects of the trek was the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local culture. The teahouses provided a cozy and authentic experience, with delicious home-cooked meals and a chance to learn about the local customs and way of life. The trek was challenging but incredibly rewarding. The trail was varied, with some steep ascents and descents, river crossings, and suspension bridges. And let's not forget our mountain friends - the beautiful mules, we passed many on this trek. The gradual acclimatization was well-planned, ensuring we were well-prepared for the high altitude of the Larke Pass. Our guide, Ganesh, was knowledgeable and supportive, providing us with invaluable information about the region and ensuring our safety and comfort throughout. Tips for Future Trekkers: • Physical prep: Make sure to be in good physical condition before attempting the trek. The altitude and duration require a reasonable level of fitness. • Packing: Pack light but ensure you have essential gear for cold weather, particularly for the higher altitudes. A good pair of trekking boots is a must. • Acclimatization: Take this process seriously to avoid altitude sickness. Listen to your guide and your body. • Guided vs. Independent Trekking: We highly recommend going with a guide. Mountain Mania are a wonderful team and their knowledge and support are invaluable, particularly in remote areas. The Manaslu Circuit Trek was a life-changing adventure that exceeded our expectations. The combination of natural beauty, cultural richness, and the sense of achievement made it an experience we will cherish forever. If you're looking for a challenging yet incredibly rewarding trek in Nepal, the Manaslu Circuit should be at the top of your list!Written June 5, 2024
- Jiri_Jana0 contributionsIn love with NepalWhat a great experience. Thank you to Mount mania - since I decided to do the trek just a week before the start and I had just 7 days to do it, I sent a request to Mount mania. Rupak was very helpful via whatsapp and the wish came true. The trek itself is perfect combination of Nepalese - tibets culture and nature. Old villages with not easy but happy life, colourful nature of rododendrons woods, alpine flowers and wild animals (marmots, mountain goats,...). The trek is demanding while doing in 7 days, but the guide Balu was very professional and planned accordingly to the situation. Balu recommended the best tea houses, traditional food (yes, mostly the Dal Bhat and the Mo-Mos are the must :). Thank you Balu, my friend, for showing the best of Nepalese heritage - kind and friendly man.Written May 9, 2024
- irenevL6114EX0 contributionsGreat hike in Manaslu & Tsum ValleyWe had an exceptional experience with Mount Mania. We did the Manaslu+Tsum valley in April. Highly recommended. The owner Rupak was very nice and quick in answering to all our questions ahead of the trek, and he met us in Kathmandu for the briefing. Ganesh, our splendid guide took care of us in everything! We’ll miss him a lot! We also brought a bag of clothes for the kids in the high villages, thanks to our porter Jivan. Overall an exceptional trek, combining the local culture and remote areas of the Tsum valley with amazing scenery of the Manaslu circuit.Written May 4, 2024
- 187yt0 contributionsVery organised tripI went on a private solo trek in Nepal and everything went better than expected. The communication before the trip was very smooth and all my questions were answered right away. When my flights within Nepal were canceled due to weather, again the company went above and beyond to accommodate. They were very flexible with my requests, responded right away and were great to deal with. Highly recommend!Written April 28, 2024
- cristinaeZ2808NH0 contributionsAmazing Manaslu circuit in 8 days!Nepal is an amazing country full of contrasts! You will encounter a huge diversity of mountains, forests, rivers, flowers, animals, climates, and people. Our family (Mom, Dad, and 16-year-old son) only had a limited amount of vacation time so we compressed the Manaslu Circuit into a challenging but rewarding 8 days of trekking. We had a day before of private jeep transfer from Kathmandu to start and a day back (highly recommend the private jeep vs the bus). We were all in pretty good shape but I would highly recommend taking a couple extra days to acclimate if time allows. The short circuit made each day very challenging. We started our hike in hot humid temperatures (25C) and did Larke pass on a crisp, bright, -12C morning. The views are stunning along the whole trail! Ganesh, our guide, and Sangan, our porter were both wonderful. Ganesh picked us up from the airport, picked up microspikes for us (definitely needed on the pass), assured we always knew the plan for the next day, and got us great rooms with a view at the tea houses. They gave us our privacy but where there whenever we needed anything and were super helpful when our son had some altitude sickness. They always made sure we had enough food and Ginger/Lemon/Honey tea which they helped prepare and serve. Their support, encouragement, and supply of Oreos and Snickers at just the right time were invaluable! Rupak was our main contact with Mount Mania and his communication and logistical help were perfect. It was reassuring to have a great trekking company supporting us along the whole way! We would highly recommend Mount Mania!Written April 17, 2024
- migueldQ3354LJ0 contributionsLangtang-Gosaikunda Trek. 10/10! Great Trip.Great Trip and Great Tour Agency! Rupak was easy to talk to and explained well what would be expected for the hike. My guide, Ngima, went over and beyond expectations and took great care of me during the hike. I unfortunately had altitude sickness due to the elevation, but Ngima was able to help me recover with lots of Garlic Soup. Overall a great 10-day trip to Langtang-Gosaikunda. Highly recommend!Written April 10, 2024
- LimaAlphaEcho0 contributions17 Days Annapurna Circuit, March 2024We organised our trip on the Annapurna Circuit through Mount Mania. During this process we communicated a lot with Rupak, who always responded very quickly to our questions and put together an itinerary according to our wishes. Once in Kathmandu we received a final briefing where we also met our guide Ganesh for the following trek. Ganesh has close to 20 years of guiding experience from which we greatly profited. He always chose teahouses along the way with fantastic accommodation and dining and always had our wellbeing at heart. He also did a fantastic job at getting us acclimatised to the altitude aiding us in crossing the pass safely and with hardly any symptoms of AMS (Thorong La is, after all, 5416m above sea level). During the trek slight changes in the itinerary were never a problem and promptly managed. We had an unforgettable trip and hope to do the Manaslu Circuit with Ganesh in two years time. Thank you Rupak, Binod and Ganesh for making this trip possible, we will definitely recommend Mount Mania!Written March 26, 2024

- 160olgar0 contributionsMost amazing trek thanks to Mount Mania!Mount Mania organised my Manaslu Circuit Trek and I cannot recommend this enough! We had an amazing guide and porter. Rupak and his team were so friendly and helpful. We decided to go for a 14 day itinerary. This gives you a bit more time to take in all the beauty and to make sure you at times feel like you’re the only tourist there. We had an excellent briefing from Rupak and our guide Indra in Kathmandu before we left. During the trek we always felt very safe and taken care of. The Manaslu trek is very diverse in terms of landscape and culture. The views are absolutely stunning. It’s already quite developed, but that also means you’ll have nice tea houses to stay at along the way. Our guide really knew the area and the culture well and explained everything we wanted to know. His English was excellent and his sense of humour too! What else can I rave about? Just book this trek at Mountain Mania! You’ll have a journey of a lifetime! Thanks Rupak and team!!Written December 3, 2023
- eugenecP4737SP0 contributionsAmazing guide Nima, for short complete 7-day Manaslu Circuit Hike !!!For those with prior high altitude, and/or long distance backpacking experience (i.e. 15-20 miles a day) I highly recommend 7-day Short Manaslu Circuit with Mount Mania. I just got back an amazing solo trip with Nima as my guide, and absoluetly recommend him. Initially I was unsure if the guides could keep up with the long hiking days, yet Nima handled it like a champ, and was able to set a good schedule and pace. His English is good, with a bit of an accent. I felt he was genuinely looking out for my safety and wellbeing the whole time. My only critique with the front office, wish they could have been a bit more proactive with the communication. It would have been better to not find out last minute, that my tight schedule + arrival during Diwali/Tihar - would recommend hiring of private jeep transportation($). Yet in the grand scheme of things, this is small nitpick. I am extremely happy with my experience with Mount Mania, and the fact they delivered what they promised. I cannot recommend Mount Mania w/ Nima enough for those looking for a shorter Manaslu circuit hike.Written November 26, 2023
- hashimma0 contributionsSolo trek - 3 High PassesAs I enjoyed Annapurna Circuit with Mount Mania (Binod) last time in 2019, I came back with them. This time, I asked to arrange a porter cum guide for 3 high passes, Everest region, I met Dilip at Lukla airport. Dilip is good personality, made full efforts for me to succeed in the trip. I didn’t notice before I arrive in Lukla that my physical strength got much weaker because of dormant life during Covid and I could walk only very slowly. I couldn’t have completed Cho la without Dilip. I had to change the itinerary after I started trekking, Rupak perfectly rearranged. That kind of flexibility was wonderful. I will revisit 3 passes near future and surely come back to Mount Mania.Written November 24, 2023

When I decided to went in Nepal for maked the Everest Base Camp trekking I had just booked the hotel in Kathmandu. I just arrived in the capital and immediately I talked with the hotel owner that he offer me a 16 days trekking pack with nepali guide with Mountmania.
I accepted and 2 days later me and Binod started the experience. We went to the airport for catched a plane with 18 seats, head to Lukla, the most dangerous airport in the world.
Right away i felt very well with the guide, he was very alert my pace, about my breath and about my physical condition at the end of the day.
For me start a trekking at 2860 mt was a new thing and he knew it.
We walked from 6 to 8 hours per day, respecting the right relax days for acclimatize the bodyto the altitude.
You can sleep in the “lodge”, typical nepali house for travellers. For everyone is the same, there aren’t a 5 stars hotels. During the night is very cold, i reccoment to buy a very good sleeping bag.
The unique heat source is in the main room and they use the yak dry sheet to burn inside the stove because the wood is so difficult to carry at the high altitudes.
The trekking pack was composed by the bedroom in the lodge and meals (1 main and 1 course each). The EBC Trek consist of 67 km pathway inside a beutiful valleys, glaciers between the higher mountain of the world.
From the Base Camp, the Everest view is very tiny but i reccomend you the Khala Patter escursion at 5550mt for have a special view of the highest mountain of the world. We planned also the Gokio Ri lake escursion for have another panorama of the Everest, but I had some physical problem and I desisted.
For me the Everest Bae Camp was a dream made possible by my diligence and physical training but also by the lot of advices of my guide Binod.
When we came back to Kathmandu, Binod accompained me to the hotel.
Outside the guide/customer relationship, me and Binod went together to visit the Ancien District of Bakhtapur, world heritage site UNESCO.
I can say that i find a friend for walk in the hymalaian mountain.
THANKS BINOD

I am so happy I found Mount Mania a local traveling company from Nepal. Rupack the owner was so amazing, friendly, helpful and at times would fo out of his way to make us feel comfortable like the he invited us into his home for Bada Dashian festival.
We did the 12 day Everest basecamp trek. Our guide was on point, very knowledge and helpful. He got is the best Tea houses along the way and was always there for us for any concerns. At first we were clients, but by the end of our trip we became friends with Rupack, our guide Lakpa and our porter Milan. We will forever cherish the all the memories from the moment we received a warm welcome from Rupack, to our trekking time with Lakpa and Milan, and to our last days in Nepal.
I highly recommend this company if you are looking for a great experience at a great price. I wish i could give them more than 5 stars. Please support local companies like this one.
Good luck and enjoy your trip in Nepal!

My trekking journey in Nepal, with the two most wonderfully kind supportive and inspirational guides you could ask for (Binod & Ballaram), was a truly magical experience which I will never forget. This Everest Base Camp trek was the most challenging yet rewarding trip I have ever done. I am looking forward to coming back again and trying a different scenic tour of this stunning country.
I highly recommend using this company and their genuine wisdom for any of the magnificent treks they offer.
