The owner of the travel agent Puru is very supportive and helpful. The company emphasize on safety and comfort of the journey. The guide and porter are professional and flexible to accommodate to my changes of the itinerary. The overall travelling experience was great and pleasant.

This was our first acquaintance with Nepal. And we were not mistaken in choosing Puru and his team. I've been on several treks now with Puru and his Above the Himilaya team. I can't speak highly enough of them. They customise everything to your needs and take care of everything. Better still Puru is extremely responsive and will adapt and rearrange travel as needed. His support in country is nothing short of superb. As just one example returning from Pokhara to Kathmandu on this last trek the Pokhara airport was closed due to smog/smoke putting our international connections at risk... a few messenger exchanges with Puru (who always seems to be immediately available to his guests) and 15m later a new electric van with a lovely professional driver arrived picked us up and took us all the way to Kathmandu. Crisis averted while so many others remained stuck and missed flights. Above the Himalaya was an awesome tour agency. Their communication was super fast and they worked with me and my wife to created a perfect itinerary for my 2 weeks in Nepal. They answered my questions right away (I had a lot of questions) and we kept changing the plan until it was perfect. Met us right away at airport and we didn't worry about a thing for 2 weeks. We did Katmandu, Pokaharu, ABC trek and Chitwan. We were always put up in great hotels and had great guides. Best thing it was great working with a local company based in Nepal and having always local guides. Also constant contact while in Nepal if we had any questions or changes. I recommend Above the Himalaya with 5 stars!

Went on a three day trek to Ghandruk with my 9 yea old children and husband. Trek was amazing. Hard at times but the guide and all porters were absolutely wonderful and adapted the route when needed. Fantastic views and experience. The tour company even changed the day for us last minute when my little boy ill.

As Canadians, we were hesitant to book with an “unknown” company but our Everest experience with Puru and Above the Himalayas was perfect. Puru was an excellent communicator and was anxious to help us develop the perfect visit to Mt Everest. With our input, he designed a custom visit within our budget that checked off all of our interests. Our guides, hotels, pilots, flight schedules and his recommendations were excellent. If you’re thinking about visiting Everest as an experienced climber or for sightseeing, Above the Himalayas will make your dreams come true. Ours did!

I did Ghandruk trek with Above the Himalaya trekking. Everything went in smooths and I had a great time. As a single female traveler I was worried about safety issued. The owner Puru was always prompt to answer all my question and he was assigned me a very honest and trust worthy guide Ramhari. It was an great experience on my short visit to Nepal. Highly recommend these guys special for solo female travelers.

Review for Poonhill trek, 6-9 Feb’24. The tour was very well organized by Puru who was responsive and helpful. The landscape is fantastic and it was great to have free choice of lodges/lunch places along the way. The food was healthy and delicious (there were great vegan options), and the lodges I stayed at had basic amenities incl hot shower, nice views and a great atmosphere. Met nice people as well. As a female solo traveler I felt safe at all times. As it was just my guide and me I wish that there had been more flexibility in the hiking schedule as I like to start early in the morning, walk rather fast and have a long lunch break. The timing in early Feb is good in that there are no crowds. We were lucky in that the views were mostly clear.

A very last minute decision to visit Nepal for the first time, and 2 days later I was received by Puru at Kathmandu airport, with a 5 day itinerary planned at short notice. As a single female traveller in Nepal, the company has made me feel safe throughout the journey from Kathmandu all the way to Everest View hotel. All logistics were taken care of swiftly and efficient, from domestic flight, to a lovely 4 day trek with Sitaram (he is very caring and paces the speed well according to how quick or slow I can go) to a private helicopter flight above the Khumbu icefall right next to Mt Everest. Well executed planning, given the last minute cancellations that can happen in Nepal, Puru was able to make sure things go accordingly. In a short 2 hours, we went from Everest view on a chopper, landed at Kala Patthar, rushed down the valley to Lukla where the domestic plane was waiting to bring us back to Kathmandu. A big shout out to Sitaram and Puru, who made the spontaneous adventure possible and safe!

I recently took the Luxury EBC trek and had a great time. I booked almost a year in advance and had good advice from Puru on the best options. He is always easy to contact. The trip itself was well organised with a good guide in Suresh and porter in Palden. It was certainly harder than I expected with very cold nights but really spectacular being in the mountains. Puru and the team at Above the Himalaya can certainly be relied upon to ensure you have a safe and comfortable trek

Mr Puru and his team of guides were excellent! One of the goals of our group was to use a Nepalese company and Above the Himalaya did not disappoint! We were a group of 12 friends, with some planning on going to Everest Base Camp and others doing the longer Three Pass Trek. Due to unforeseen circumstances (one party member with Acute Mountain Sickness and Pulmonary Edema as well as underestimating the rigors of the Three Pass Trek} our plans changed several times mid-trek. Mr Puru and his team handled all these events flawlessly-from arranging for a helicopter to evacuate our ill friend to rearranging the trekking routes (which involved splitting the party and the guides/porters as well as changing the lodging) so all could have a memorable experience. And have a memorable experience we did-from the scenery to the culture to the people! Above the Himalaya made it happen!

Puru promised us the best accommodation on the Everest Base Camp possible and that is what he delivered. The whole team delivered as promised and went the extra mile where required.
