About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- deepsungr0 contributionsAmazing experience with AceEverything was excellent and well organized. I joined last minute, and ACE made helped me quickly make necessary arrangements. Our guide, Madan (Maddy), was very knowledgeable and helpful every day, always smiling and funny. He was patient and genuinely cared about our well-being, checking in often. Porters Birkaji and Sauman did great job, always smiling and ready to help. I highly recommend Ace for a trekking tour. It was an incredible, once in a lifetime experience.Written July 24, 2024
- ujalaa20220 contributionsEverest base campLoved my trip. Madan was our guide and he was very helpful and guided us throughout the journey. He was super helpful to the few of us who got sick as well and made arrangements that we were taken care of. I definitely recommend madan as the guide and ace the himalaya as the company to travel with.Written July 8, 2024
- K2814LQlindab0 contributionsGreat tour around Manaslu CircuitMy experience with Ace the Himalaya was wonderful. I did Manaslu Circuit Trekking with Ram as a guide and Ramesh as a porter. We were only a small group and didn’t meet lots of other trekkers which made the experience around the stunning nature amazing. Ramesh the porter was also really helpful and supporting as well as Ram, who was always really caring for the wellbeing of the group. I always felt save and really appreciated the option of adapting the route on the way depending on physical fitness and wellbeing. I will definitely come back! Thanks for this beautiful experience!Written June 30, 2024
- Vacation558520332860 contributionsTerrible experience on a solo luxury EBC tripI paid for the luxury Everest Base camp trip with helicopter return to Lukla and it was a really terrible experience. I was a solo traveler, not by choice, just the way the schedule worked out. The trip started off on the wrong foot when I arrived at about 1 am and was dropped off at the wrong hotel, quite far from where I was supposed to be. Once we got on the trail, the guide never spoke to me. He was always about 50-100 paces ahead of me, sometimes watching stuff on his phone, I could hear laughter like it was a sitcom. I learned nothing about the area we were traveling through, nothing about the culture or people, nothing. He would leave me to hike on my own sometimes while he stayed and talked to people in the villages. I had to ask for directions from a stranger once. He left me while in Namche once, even though I told him I wasn’t sure how to get back to the hotel. So he found some random young man to take me back. He never took my blood oxygen levels until I finally said something when we were in Dingboche. I got sick with a fever in Dingboche and he refused to listen, saying I need to think positive. When I asked if he had a thermometer he said it was broken, so I asked if he could get one from the other Ace guide. I could go on and on, but I think that’s enough to prove my point. I paid extra for the luxury tour, thinking the guide would be excellent, but that was not the case. There was another group traveling with Ace I would run into daily and they had an awesome guide that helped to make their trip special. They saw how I was being treated and asked me to join them, but they were much younger and I knew I couldn’t keep up. Spending time with that group and their guide was the best part of the trip. Ace did arrange to bring a cake to EBC for my 60th birthday, which was a really nice surprise. And the guide did offer to take my picture occasionally and he carried my daypack twice, which was nice. Expect for that, I can’t find much good to say. I paid a lot for the trip and got the bare minimum. Deepak is the worst guide in my opinion. I’m adding photos, look for the orange backpack, that’s my guide.Written June 25, 2024
- Edwin J0 contributionsTrip of a lifetimeWhen we arrived in Kathmandu, we had a briefing telling us what to expect in our upcoming trip. Very well explained. Madan was our guide for our adventure. He was good to check with us daily to make sure everyone was feeling well. He was organized and did a great job of looking after us. Our porters worked extremely hard and were always good to make sure our belongings were at the accommodations before we got there. Suman was also a guide and did a great job of leading the way. I decided that I didn’t want to spend the three days hiking out so I asked Madan to arrange a helicopter. He made a phone call and it was done. The day of the summit, we had 1000 m to climb. Pippy was my guide for this part of the trek. He was awesome. I found the last part of the thousand metres to be challenging. Technical and Harder than I was anticipating. But with his encouragement, I was able to make it to the top. I travelled with a great group of guys and the scenery was amazing. It was the trip of a lifetime and provided me with memories that I will have forever.Written June 25, 2024
- dnrosenthal770 contributionsA trek setting new highs in what a holiday adventureEverything about the trek was fantastic! Ace The Himalaya provided clear, honest information from the ad, through the planning, all the way through to the last step ( literally and figuratively). Sushanta Neupane was the best guide, making sure I was informed and as comfortable as can be. I'll definitely recommend this group and guide to anyone considering a trip to Nepal or any adventure trek.Written June 20, 2024
- fernverliebt0 contributionsAmazing experience at 5.160 m of altitudeWe had a most amazing experience walking the Manaslu circuit trek at the end of the season with hardly any other tourists around, while weather conditions were amazing. The organization by Ace was great, we never had any safety or health insecurities, our guide Ram and porter Rames were always kind, attentive, helpful and competent - we wouldn’t want to have missed them! The trek is unique in its own way, as it’s really authentic, not touristy at all, so you are able to experience authentic Nepalese life and culture. In the evenings we enjoyed the wood fire with the natives, had always delicious dal bhat and fresh tea. We stayed in comfy guesthouses that had everything you need to recover at high altitudes - hot showers, good meals and cozy beds, as well as stunning glimpses of the majestic mountains. I’m really looking forward to coming back soon, and do another trek with ATH! Thank you 🙏🏻Written June 17, 2024
- 565shauryab0 contributionsAwesomeExceptional service! Our experience with Ace Himalayas surpassed all expectations. From the moment we inquired about their services to the end of our unforgettable adventure, the professionalism and expertise of their guides Madan and Sauman were evident. Safety was paramount throughout, yet they also ensured we had a thrilling and memorable experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking adventure in the mountains!Written June 13, 2024
- lukesM5153NA0 contributionsFirst Trek in NepalThe experience was excellent, the package covered absolutely everything you could think of, and made very easy to just go. The guide and porter I was assigned were very very nice, and made the experience very smooth. My guide (Raj) is very talkative, and loves to interact with passers by, so it won’t feel like you are isolated and unable to interact with other people on your trek, he loves to joke around and will keep the trip very upbeat, but still make it seamlessly smooth, and organize anything you could possibly need. He will even give you a meditation session or council you if you need to get your mind right. My porter (Bishal) is such a nice guy, he might come across as a touch shy at first, but I think this is because he isn’t as strong at speaking English. But he is a very nice guy, always positive, upbeat and incredibly strong up the mountains. He even does so many little things such as cleans up after you at meals, and is always willing to help. It was my first time in Nepal, and even though the people are very friendly having a good guide makes the experience very easy. Do you need something? The office will book it for you, whether it’s a plane ride, taxi, or just about anything, they are even flexible to your own personal day schedule and plans. When traveling you often have to worry about many many different things but this made it very easy, I just had to make sure I booked my flights, visa, and had the right gear, that's just about it. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek itself is amazing, but doing it with so much provided will save you days/weeks of planning. Would definitely recommend.Written June 10, 2024
- WorkForVacations0 contributionsGlorious trek from Lukla to Island PeakThis company receives my highest commendation. I’ve trekked in India, Colombia, Bolivia and Ecuador - this Nepal experience surpassed them all. Ace’s planning, execution and attention to detail/safety was impeccable. If you get the chance to request guides, Madan (chief guide) and Sauman (assistant) will not disappoint.Written June 9, 2024
- 93kaisal0 contributionsBest Manaslu Trek everSunil Ghale and Roonan Ghale were FANTASTIC guides/porter. They were attentive and very organized. I had the best time on the trip because of their ability to lead and provide motivation during challenging parts of the trek. I will 100% recommend this trek to my friends! Hopefully they get lucky enough to have this fun, energetic duo whom I felt very safe with throughout my 13 days.Written June 4, 2024
- Tour618939497410 contributionsTop notch experience with Ace the Himalays! We were a group of 8 friends fromCanada, we have been doing summits all over the worlds for many years, our experience with Ace was amazing right from the beginning dealing with Sujan for booking and arrangements; our experience with Madan who was our lead guide was top notch , he was there to receive each of us who arrived separately at the airport to the end of drop off on our return. Madan ensured the entire expedition went as per plan and went over and beyond ensured every members individual was taken care of .. he was very eloquent in his English and great friendly laugh. He also joined us to attempt the summit Island peak with our team ! Suman who was our assistant guide always had a smile, were friendly and always knew our individual preferences and needs for food and drinks from day two to the end! Our porters Anil, Jeet, Gambhu and Bhupendra were so amazing with our bags and supplies always ensure our bags arrived before us and placed near our rooms and tents without fail! Over all I would also rate our mountain Sherpa excellent the main guide had also climbed the Everest! I would any day recommend Ace the Himalays for your trips in Nepal and Madan and Suman as one of the best rated guides we have experienced.Written June 2, 2024
- Les J0 contributionsImpressive trek, that will reward you again and again.Embarked on an adventure to island peak with the Ace group. What an incredible experience in the stunning raw mountains of the Himalayas. We had an exceptionally talented guide (Madan) who was both friendly and talented who seemed who made the tough times easier and helped us understand the unique culture of the kind Nepalese folk. Thank you to both Madan and Sauman for all the encouragement and sharing their knowledge and skill and making this trek so enjoyable! When you’ve had a great time, you want others to experience it too. I encourage others with a sense of adventure to do this trek. Prepare to be inspired.Written June 2, 2024
- Roving386041869070 contributionsBest ever guide to explore Nepsl HimilayasWhat an amazing experience. Only made possible because of Ace Himilaya arranging it. Then our group had the best luck ever to get Milan as our guide. This man and his 3 Sharpas couldn't do enough 4 our group. We where taken care of like blood family. Our safety , health and well been was Milan and teams top priority. Milan's knowledge and experience was amazing. Seeing Nepal through his eyes took this experience to the next level. Then there was Gambu, Bishal and Suresh our Sharpas. Man these guys should be platinum Olympic medalist. Our trek was stunning but no joke and when we struggled these guys would take even our backpacks together with the loads they already had hanging from their heads. Guys you all have become brothers from the world roof and Nepal. Our future planned trips to Nepal will definitely have Ace Himilaya at the very top of our list who we going to use and we will not settle for anything less than Milan Athikari . This man should be made minister of tourism in Nepsl.what a asset to his company ,country industry and the people of Nepal.Written June 1, 2024
- cyrillej20240 contributionsAn amazing trek with an amazing team!I did the Manaslu Circuit in May 2024 with Ace The Himalaya (ATH) and it was excellent. First of all, the trek itself is challenging but amazing. Expect a large diversity of landscapes (forests, plateaus, bushy areas, rocky and icy or snowy mountains, rivers, suspended bridges, hot springs, waterfalls) and wonderful scenery, villages, and people all along the trip. Also, it is important to emphasize that, although accommodation and food remain basic (the trek is not as busy as ABC, EBC, etc.), it is comfortable enough, and we even had sufficient hot water, electricity (and even some Wi-Fi) during the trek. Regarding ATH, they were perfect. Yes, ATH was pricier than many companies, but they were responsive and more eco-conscious (we didn't use a single plastic bottle of water in 11 days). In hindsight, considering the extra costs from other agencies and comparing them with ATH’s high-quality services, I actually don't think ATH is significantly more expensive. If I do another trek in Nepal, I will definitely choose them again. I would also like to warmly thank our guide, Shyam, and our porter, Govinda, for their dedication. Shyam was extremely knowledgeable, concerned for our safety, and always caring. Here is a non-exhaustive list of his efforts: he made sure that we ate enough, drank more than 2 liters per day, had enough blankets, checked our O2 levels regularly, and filtered our water daily. Honestly, from what I observed during these 11 days, he was clearly a head or two above the other guides. Govinda was systematically helpful and caring as well. Not only did he take great care of our stuff, but he was also always assisting Shyam. He was always positive and even accompanied us during the resting day! Last but not least, both of them were very nice and are pretty good at (Nepali) card games. :)Written May 29, 2024

Firstly I’ll start by saying that doing the Basecamp trek in winter is extremely difficult. The actual walking was easy, it had a few hard parts but overall quite a good trek. The hard part was dealing with the cold especially coming from Australia when it’s been over 30+ degrees and coming into temperatures of -20 to -30 degrees. The altitude was a hard one to judge. Sometimes you felt great and then other times you walked 15 metres and you we’re out of breath. Overall the trek was amazing but I think I would’ve definitely preferred it in the summertime.
My guides name is Pasang Dawa who works for Ace the Himalayas. He’s very good at speaking English which was very helpful because a lot of other guides struggled with that. He was very caring and always put others before himself. I fainted one morning and he was there by my side the whole time making sure I was alright and my partner had a sore back so he straight away volunteered to carry her bags for her for a few days. He also helped the other couple we were with in their own ways and he overall was a perfect guide and someone I’d definitely recommend if I was wanting to find the perfect guide. If I came back I’d request Pasang again because he is very loyal and cares about everyone else before himself. He also knows a lot about each mountain and any information we asked him he knew exactly what to say.
We also had Resham (another guide) who helped our group out a lot. He was assigned to another climber who decided to stay with us because her trek was to hard to do. He was really helpful and very kind. He’s a very good guide and knows a lot about the mountains but he just need to work on his English a little. That’s the only fault I have to say about him because he was so amazing. Both guides were amazing and we were very lucky to have them both.
Ace the Himalayas had a good pre trip meeting which helped a lot to understand everything about the trip. They do have a couple faults which can be fixed easily. One being the item list (clothing, equipment etc) for winter needs to be longer because there were a few things which would’ve been helpful if we knew about it before we started hiking.
Overall the trip was amazing. The guides we had were great and made the trip so much easier and we always felt very safe with them.

What an incredible adventure! We had an amazing trip with Ace the Himalaya and could not recommend them enough. From the minute we booked we were impressed with the communication from Lokesh and the team who speedily answered all of our questions and provided us with a comprehensive pre-trek packing list.
When we arrived in Kathmandu, our trek manager Sajiya gave us a comprehensive outline of the itinerary and what to expect which prepared us for all eventualities.
We struck gold with Madan as our tour guide. Over the course of the two weeks he went from guide to friend to family. Madan having done over 200 treks had so much knowledge of not only the Himalayas but also medical knowledge on how to minimise the chances of altitude sickness, which none of us got. Because of him, we were able to achieve 100% success rate with all members of our group not only making base camp, but also making the difficult yet rewarding trek up Kala Patthar.
Madan kept us laughing, even when we were altitude trekking in -17 degrees! He kept us humble with the number of times he beat us at UNO, and always reminded us to stop and admire the view. He was constantly checking for altitude sickness so we felt safe and well cared for. He even brought up a pulse oximeter to check our oxygen levels. His passion about preserving the beauty of the Himalayas and caring for its people was infectious, and he helped us recognise the importance of sustainable trekking.
Our wonderful Porters Raj and Dhan made the trek much easier for us and were always there if we needed help. We couldn't have done it without them. Dhan especially was like a second guide and joined us for acclimatisation treks and the trek to base camp.
Overall this was the a trek of the lifetime. Going with Ace the Himalaya made it the perfect trip.

Having just finished our Everest Base Camp trek with Ace the Himalaya, it is hard to find the words to describe how amazing our experience has been.
From start to finish Ace the Himalaya team has been outstanding.
We booked 5 months before our trek and it started with Lokesh in the office answering patiently and diligently all of my questions to help prepare for the winter trek. Lokesh made us feel that we were in good hands from the start.
Our trek began at the airport pick up, when our guide Madan Kandel and a driver picked us up. Although our flight was delayed the team and Ms Sajiya waited for us to ensure we had a proper briefing before our trek. We could not have asked for better service!
As for the trek, what an incredible experience! Madan was absolutely amazing, enhancing the trek at all levels.
First of all he made us feel safe, from the flight to Lukla to anything along the way. I got a cold on Day 3 and started to feel the effect of the cold temperatures early on, Madan always arranged extra blankets, extra great food, and checked in on us to ensure we were well, happy and safe.
Madan is very knowledgeable and has done Everest Base Camp over 200 times! His patience, fun nature and gentle soul made him the absolute best guide! We could not have wished for a better one.
From Lobuche guesthouse to Base Camp I felt the effect of altitude sickness and can honestly say that without Madan’s support and expert advice I would not have been able to complete the trek. I’m so happy he was our guide, and wish that he wins the Ace the Himalaya guide of the year award a second time!
Lastly and not least, we cannot complete this review without mentioning our porter Dhan. What a legend! Dhan carried our overnight bags, every day no matter the weather. He was the man in the shadows, always early and bringing our bags before we arrived. We loved Dhan’s company on the last night and hope he can become an assistant guide soon.
If you are wondering which company to book your trek with, do not hesitate and trust Ace the Himalaya.

I started the Everest Base Camp trek with Nimesh in March 2019, and I absolutely loved having him as my guide. At every step, from the initial pre-trip meeting to handling flights to Lukla to directing the porters and dealing with our crazy group, Nimesh was kind, patient, steadfast and intelligent. I hurt my ankle in Namche Bazaar and, since I insisted on continuing, Nimesh quickly arranged a horse and horseman to take me to Tengboche. He treated my ankle that night with knowledge and care. When the next morning it became apparent I could not go on, he immediately called a helicopter and had me on it in less than 20 minutes, then had his friend meet me in Lukla to meet the helicopter and arrange the flight back to Kathmandu. I can’t imagine what it would have been like to try to do all this myself, but Nimesh handled the situation with empathy and urgency.
Nimesh’s insight into the culture, expert counsel to his clients and skill on the trail are beyond compare. Plus, he’s a great conversationalist and very funny, and truly wants to learn about his clients.
I am returning this year for another EBC trip with Ace, and insisted on having Nimesh as my guide—because I wanted the best, and that’s what he is. I can’t wait!

What an incredible experience! This trip would not have the same memories if not for the experience and knowledge of the Ace the Himalaya team.
Sajiya handles much of the logistics and was more than willing to answer any and all questions that my group had before we even stepped into our plane.
Their years of experience helped to make us aware of any potential changes to our itinerary beforehand and really helped to give us peace of mind. There a lot of moving parts to make a trip like this happen but good weather is never guaranteed for flights into or out of Lukla. Our trek was delayed by a day due to weather but our guide, Pasang, had things well in hand and pre-arranged for us to stay at a local hotel before the weather cleared the next morning.
Pasang, his assistant Sunny, and the Porters worked incredibly hard to make sure our group was well taken care of. We never felt rushed and Pasang did an amazing job of managing the faster hikers and the slower hikers so that we each had our own experience and not forced to stay together.
I would highly recommend Ace the Himalaya to anyone thinking of booking their next trip to the Nepal region! Thank you Sajiya, Pasang and the Ace team for a wonderful experience!

Excellent trek guided by Ace. Ravi, Ramesh, and Raj did a great job working with a large group of varying skill levels. A fun group of guides to be around who made sure the group took the time to adjust to the elevation and took their time to set up a sustainable pace. They attended to the group making sure people made it to destinations safely and coped with the elevation increase.

When I was a kid I received a book on the visual atlas of the world as a gift and it gave me the inspiration to see the world. Fast forward twenty years and I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to visit many diverse parts of the world, but what I can confidently say is that the Khumbu region is one of the top three places I have visited so far in my life. The Himalayas, and specifically Nepal, have been at the top of my list of places to visit for years and trekking to Everest not only exceeded my already lofty expectations but belongs in its own league of travel experiences.
As far as organizing the trek, Ace the Himalaya did an amazing job at accommodating me at the last minute because I only confirmed my plans to trek two days before my flight to Lukla. Due to the pandemic and the dramatically lower tourist numbers as a result, it was possible to do this but once tourist numbers start to normalize again, I would highly recommend advanced planning for a trek. My guide was Raj (Rajkumar), and he is a great guide who is very knowledgable with the Khumbu region. Every question I had about culture or a specific mountain he seemed to have an in-depth answer. On the acclimatization hike from Dingboche, Raj also chose to carry my backpack, which I really appreciated because I was feeling the effects of altitude that day. My porter (I'm not sure how to spell his name) was also great. Without his help, I wouldn't have been able to complete this trek. Two other notable people I met are Sajiya and Lokesh. Sajiya is a cool girl who manages operations at the office and seems to have a lot of pride in her country. She spoke great English and I enjoyed our conversations the couple times we met. Last but not least, Lokesh was the person I was communicating by email with prior to going to Nepal and he answered many of my questions that helped ease some of the uncertainty I felt about the trek.
Just a few last things I want to note about the trek. I personally started to feel the effects of altitude at Dingboche (4,350m/14,270 ft) and I noticed a lot of other people did as well. The days in Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorak Shep made me feel a little discomfort but the effects of altitude generally felt mild. Teahouse accommodation is basic but it's manageable. Food quality and choices seemed constant throughout the trek. Overall, I would definitely come back to Nepal and do a tour with Ace the Himalaya again. There are so many companies to choose from, but I think what makes Ace the Himalaya stand out is their online presence that shows a proven track record of people who have had great experiences in the Himalayas. That is what caught my attention before traveling to Nepal, and now I can personally say that Ace the Himalaya is the easy choice when it comes to trekking in Nepal. If you want to see the Himalayas then I would recommend just doing the mountain flight or Everest helicopter tour. But if you want to experience the Himalayas and the culture of the Tibetan and Sherpa people while being in the shadows of several of the world's highest mountains, then trekking to Everest may be one of the best things you can do in life.

Dear Stephen,
Thank you very much for taking some time to write this detailed review. The title of your review itself is very encouraging. We are very glad to know how beautiful time you had in Nepal trek. The way you have shared your experiences on the trek especially focusing Khumbu Region is absolutely phenomenal. Everest Region is definitely not an easy trek and the way you have elaborated your experiences could be really helpful to all the traveler/ trekkers from the world especially who are planning to trip to Nepal. So we are extremely thankful for this. Lastly we agree on how you have also acknowledged on our team members. Your guide Rajkumar, your porter, Sajiya and Lokesh from our operations indeed are the hardworking team who tried their best to contribute from all the aspects in order to make our client’s trip successful. They would be very happy to get this appreciation. We really hope to see you again in the future. Stay Safe!

Having never hiked before or visited Nepal, I was unsure which trekking company to enlist for my adventure. When researching which company to use, I was at first sceptical of the overwhelmingly positive reviews Ace had received from their previous guests. Now that I have completed my trek up Mt. Everest with Ace, I can confirm that all these reviews do not even begin to do this company justice!
Ace places their guests’ experiences and safety at the very heart of their business. From the minute you land in Kathmandu, to when they drop you off at the departures lounge, Ace is there to look after your ever need (24/7) and ensure you’re having the best time possible! It is a very slick operation they have built; their communication / response time from the very first day of booking has been exceptional.
The 14 day trek up Mt. Everest is a once in a lifetime trip. It is a very challenging exercise, however with our guide Milan by our side 24/7, constantly providing us with support, banter and assurance, the entire group was able to reach Base Camp.
Milan is hands down the best guide Ace has, and I highly recommend requesting Milan in advance for when making your booking. His language abilities and very caring nature put our entire group at ease from day one, and we have left as lifelong friends. He is extremely knowledgeable of the terrain and I never once felt uncomfortable in my surroundings. Milan goes over and above to pass on his extensive knowledge of the rich history of this amazing country.
Finally, two of the greatest assets that Ace had to offer is their stance on coping with Altitude Sickness, and their vast network within the Nepali tourism industry. Milan ensured from day one we had the correct amount of water at all times, moved at a pace which was comfortable for everyone in the group, and ate the appropriate food to help our recovery. Ace has been operating for over a decade, and has worked to secure the first flights in/out of Lukla (very important) and the “best” rooms in the tea houses.
I hope this review helps you to decide that Ace is the trekking company for you…. And if it does, I hope you chose Milan to take you up Mt. Everest, you won’t regret it!

The magnitude of completing an EBC trek is not fully realised until days and weeks or reflection are absorbed.
Our Ace manager Sajiya briefed us comprehensively on trekking conditions and our schedule prior to departing, and organised our resort accommodation (upon request) at our return. Her attention to detail is reassuring to say the least, we had absolute confidence in her helmsmanship of Ace from there on in. For our first experience abroad, in hindsight, we wouldn't change a single detail.
Picked up in the late evening from the airport by our plucky guide Deepesh, it became evident that his ownership of our Himalayan experience was personal. He sold the total package of EBC on his amicable, unflappable conduct. Throughout the entire trek Deepesh was right about wherever you needed him to be, whatever the requirement. His converse with the porters and hosts was on par, and he always negotiated an accord in our favour.
One of the Himalayan heroes was our porter Kumar, always making himself available as the personal host. Many times Kumar would return unladen from despatching our baggage at accommodation and assist a struggling group member by taking a daypack or offering stimulating support. Having being blessed with good fitness, some days I delighted in catching up to Kumar climbing a pass during the days trek which would draw a chuckle and a positive response.
In reflection our EBC advice is to go with Ace, go hard, go prepared and go without expectations. Because the real reward will come later, reflecting on your journey a lifetime away in the warmth and comfort of your humble daily existence

Trekking to Everest Base Camp with Ace The Himalaya was an experience of a lifetime. Every single aspect of the journey was managed to perfection. Upon arrival at the airport, our guide was waiting to pick us up. He took us to our hotel, got us settled, and informed us of our next steps. Before starting our trek, we met with the Operations Manager of Ace to discuss in detail the trek and what we should expect. She was extremely thorough and left us with every question we had answered. The trek itself was incredible. Our guide, Raj, and porter, Sauman, were the best. They were funny, knowledgeable, and were an absolute pleasure to trek with. They made sure we had everything was just right and went above and beyond to make sure our every need was met. If you get the pleasure to trek with Raj and Sauman you will have one of the best experiences of your life. After the trek was completed we had a post-meeting with the Operations Manager to discuss how the trek went. Ace even helped us set up transportation to and from the hospital to get a PCR COVID test needed to depart for our home country 5 days AFTER our trek was completed. I highly highly recommend Ace The Himalaya if you want a trek to Everest Base Camp that will leave you with an experience that was better than you could have ever imagined.

Hi, I was wondering about the COVID restrictions. As an American I was looking to try to come in the middle of May and I see Nepal requires a 10 day quarantine. I was wondering if I could come with a negative test in hand or get tested in Nepal if we could bypass the quarantine? Thank you

Hi guys,
Heading to EBC in a week or so with G adventures, how much cash should I take? Need to buy food and other bits such as showers, electricity etc. Accomodation has been covered. Read somewhere about 400 USD worth should do it?
Thanks in advance!!

Hello,
I am planning to start the EBC trek on 5th Oct.
Could you please confirm, I can book 5th Oct & plan my flight tickets accordingly ?
Thank you,
Tanuj
Written January 27, 2020
You can book your reservation for the EBC trek and then book your flights. I would advice including a couple of extra days before and after the trek in case there are weather-related delays to flights to and from Lukla. Also, local flights might either originate from or land in the other domestic airport which is a five-hour drive from Kathmandu, which is what happened to us on the way back.

Hi,
I want to do this trekk in about 9 days. Is it possible? Other travelers doing it at this time of the year?
Written January 15, 2020
Yes, it’s possible to do it in 9 days.. 5 days up and 4 back . Get a script for “ DIAMOX “ from your Doc for altitude sickness and drink 4l of water each day.. even in cold you dehydrate with the altitude/exertion.. it’s hard going in stretches. You’ll need cleats for your boots .. the tracks are icy and very slippery with the snowfalls ... it’s Winter there now and really cold . I did it mid December , last month .. -15 at night , -30 at base camp and 0 to -10 daytime ... villages up higher are closing up now so probably limited accomodation now.. most hike groups/ higher villages close up for jan- March .. too cold and too much snow . I’d recommend waiting until April or getting 1/2 price deals on offer for end of season nov/ dec .. and yes, flights in / out of Lukla are delayed in Winter .. good luck !

Do you have to walk with the group at all times or can you walk ahead if some in the group walk a little slower?
Written January 8, 2020
We had a group of 8 and with 2 guides they allowed us to walk pretty much at our own pace. Our team ended up with 2 pace groups; the "fast" group and the "slow" group. I was in the slow group.

Hi , can a kid about 12 or 13 do the trek?
Written November 16, 2019
I have seen young children on the trek . My son was 17 he did get a cold and like a young person it did make him lethargic. I did have all correct medicines from the doctor which greatly helped.

Hi,
I am planning to do the Everest Base Camp trek during the last week of December. I was wondering if December last week is an ideal time to do this trek? How much more difficult will be it be to do this trek with the dropping temperature?
Written November 11, 2019
I believe it is feasible to do a trek in late December and when we were in Namche we asked one of the lodge owners if the lodges are open year round and he said that most are open. The main challenge would be the temperature. It was already very cold when we did our trek in late Oct to early Nov.

Could you please advise the difference in price between 14 & 16 days as we are interested in completing the 16 day trail but there is no link
Written June 18, 2018
Check the website Bookmundi out. It goes over each itinerary but from what I can figure, the 16 day itinerary gives you an additional day in Kathmandu on each side of the trek which is awesome for those who want to take advantage of being in the region and exploring the local culture a bit more!
