Our trip was supposed to go EBC and Gokyo Lake through Cho La Pass. Due to the bad weather for a few days, there were no flights to Lukla, we departed from Kathmandu by off-road car and then start to trek from Kharikhola to EBC. Our group faced many issues (rainy, snowy, cloudy, delayed flight). Luckily we have Raju - an excellent tour guide. He always thinks about the solution for many scenarios and gives us updated information every day. We feel safe when accompanying Raju and porters. We were very appreciative when Raju woke up early every morning to check the Mt. Everest view and then call us to see the view if not cloudy. For days to EBC we could not see Mt. Everest due to fog and cloudy. We were like brothers, and family, sang songs, danced together, enjoying so much fun. He also tells me many interesting things about Nepali life and culture. Good to know new friend Raju.

What an amazing experience. From the second I messaged the company inquiring about the trip I was guided through the whole process by real professionals. Especially in the midst of the pandemic, which made everything a bit more complicated, I can’t say enough good things about how helpful and flexible the staff was. From helping us prepare for the trip, to picking us up from the airport and taking us to our hotel, to the trek itself, everything moved seamlessly. Raj, our guide on the trek, was amazing. After our trek we had an extra week and our other guide Ashok, suggested we ride motorbikes across the country. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. I now consider Raj and Ashok great friends. If you’re reading this review and you’re thinking about booking with Himalayan Recreation, I recommend 100% that you do it. Trip of a lifetime!

My dad, his two friends Ray, Linda and I completed Everest Base Camp trek in December 2019. Varat was our guide and he went above and beyond to make sure we had the trip of a life time and that we did! Nir Kumar and Chantra were our porters who were also incredible and cannot believe how strong they both were! A big blizzard hit the region the day we went to base camp and covered all everything in snow the way to Lukla, This then turned into extremely slippery ice and these boys basically ran down the hills with massive packs, have no idea how they do it??
From when he first greeted us at the Kathmandu airport we knew we were in great hands. He welcomed us and made us feel extremely comfortable with his contagious smile (He looked just as excited as us). Our plane was late arriving and he acted like it was nothing having to wait out in the cold Nepal winter for us.
The hotel was lovely and beyond my expectations, this seemed to be a common occurrence for the whole trip.
Varat was extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer all our questions, trust me I had millions! He was also very honest and would let us know when he was unsure and would always try his hardest to find the answer. We all really appreciated his honesty, modesty and cheerful spirit.
We past many other groups on our trip and no one seemed as happy with their guide, porters and trekking agency as we were.
Varat also made many upgrades for us in regards to rooms, our accommodation was always top notch and had beautiful views and attached bathrooms whenever possible.
Even though the trip would have been incredible as this really is the trip of a life time and been on my bucket list for many years, Varat made it more special than you could ever imagine! He made us feel like family and hope we are able to book another Nepal trip with him in the future.
The trip itself was breathtaking both literally and figuratively (Altitude really does get you haha). The people the culture and the scenery with unreal and I wish our trip was longer than 16 days.
Thank you so much to the Himalayan Recreation Treks and Expeditions team for making our dream come true and making sure everything was planned down to the little details. We were very anxious about our journey and didn’t know what it would entail but they put our mind at ease. Trust me you will not regret booking with Himalayan Recreation Treks and Expeditions and hope your trip goes as perfectly as ours.

It's hard to describe the experience of the 11-day trip in just a few words but I had such a memorable trip and was very glad to have a companion like Subash. He was thoughtful, experienced and more importantly, patient and encouraging when times were challenging.

At first, my journey faced hiccups as bad weather condition the flight couldn't take off, 3 days delays, we decided to switch plan to jeep off-road experience. Rainy, slippery, waterfall edges, landslides, all lead to the challenging but most excited journey. Believe me this lifetime adventure was awesome.
After all, the nature served us with the most breathtaking view of snowy mountain, vast valley and gorgeous landscape. Word couldn't be enough to express how much we appreciated the local guide (Raju Sim Khada) and porter team who did unconditionally assist our group throughout every steps.
This was the best trip ever to all of us. Highly recommend anyone to go and enjoy every breath with nature alongside.
Note: recommend to reserve tour directly with Himalayan Recreation to have the best services.

Bharat ever conscious guide kept me informed of each days activities including time and space. His knowledge each location was outstanding and would explain my questions in great detail. He also advised me of any difficulties we were about to encounter. The lodges he chose for me were exceptional. This is the second time Bharat has been my guide and he gets 10 out of ten. A very good and caring person.

The company itinerary for 14 days trip is quite exciting and accurate, started when I arrived at the Kathmandu airport. First day I went shopping, second day, the company sent me a day guide to show me around. We saw several temples, the guide was very knowledgeable. Third day we flew to Lukla and started the trip.
I did Everest trekking experience with Narayan, He helped me to choose right gears and was with me as a friend and professional guild through my trip. He always made sure I eat the right food and stopped at the best places. Thanks Narayan for your patience.
Over all I enjoyed the trip very much. It was wonderful and strongly recommend it to all people who like hiking.

I just wanted to thank you all at Himalayan Recreation Trekking for a fantastic experience. My son and I have just returned home recently from a group trek to Everest Base Camp, from September 30 to October 13, 2019, with your wonderful guide Raj. Your company looked after all of our needs brilliantly, including accommodation at Hotel Nepalaya, a great trek to base camp, a fascinating tour of Kathmandu and a very enjoyable cultural dinner and show to finish off our time in Nepal.
Our guide Raj did an excellent job of helping us along every step of the way. He was so helpful in making sure that we got our flights to Lukla, including the bus trip to Ramechhap. He looked after us at all times, ensuring that we were safe and well and able to fully enjoy the experience. Raj is a great asset to your company. He was great. The porters also did a great job in helping us with all of our gear. We appreciate everything that they did for us.
We will definitely recommend Himalayan Recreation Trekking to our friends and maybe one day visit your wonderful country of Nepal again with your help!

Himalayan Recreation is an excellent company to go with. From pick up from the airport, accommodation, guides, food, overall experience and back to the airport, we were looked after the whole time. Our guide Narayan, was an absolute legend who gave us information throughout the trek and allowed us to experience part of the Nepalese culture. Highly recommend going with Himalayan Recreation!!

Had the best time on this adventure. We did the 10 day Base Camp trip. The whole experience was awesome from the moment we were picked up at the airport until they dropped us off again. The staff were fantastic and looked after our every need. Our guide Varat was AWESOME, such a great guy and really went out of his way to make sure we were happy. At the end of the trip, the company took us out to dinner wth a show, this was a really nice way to end the trip. I really recommend this company if you are planning on going to Nepal, could not fault anything. I loved every minute of it and hope to return for another trip and will definitely go with this company again. Thanks for everything, I will never forget it.
