Itinerary
- 1After breakfast, you will meet your tour guide at your hotel lobby at 10:30 am or 1:30 pm and head-off to do some sightseeing of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. The monuments to watch inside Bhaktapur Durbar Square are the following: 55 window palace: It was built in 1427 AD during the reign of King Yaksha Malla and was again remodeled in the 17th century by King Bhupatindra Malla. It is considered to be a unique masterpiece of woodcarving. Golden Gate: The gate was constructed by King Ranjit Malla and is the entrance to the main courtyard of the palace of fifty-five windows . It is said to be the most beautiful and richly moulded specimen of its kind in the entire world. Lion's Gate: The magnificent and beautiful gate was created from artisans and later their hands were cut off by the envious Bhadgoun King so that no more of such masterpiece would be produced again. Mini Pashupatinath Temple: The holy god Shiva temple, the mini pashupati, is believed to be built right in front of the palace after a Bhadgaun king dreamed of it. Batsala Temple: Batsala Temple was the stone temple of goddess Batsala Devi that included many intricate carvings; however, it was most famous for its bronze bell, known to local residents as "the bell-of barking dogs " as when it is rung, dogs in the vicinity bark and howl. Statue of Bhupatindra Malla: This is considered to be the most magnificen statuet. The Statue of King Bhupatindra Malla can be seen on a column facing the palace in the act of worship. Nyatapola Temple: Nyatapola means five stories - the symbolic of five basic elements. This is the biggest and highest pagoda of Nepal. Bhairava Nath Temple: The Bhairab Nath Temple is dedicated to Bhairava the most fierce and manifestation aspect of lord Shiva. Move towards Pottery Square, where the streets are lined with small shops selling innumerable items produced in baked clay and the pavements are filled with black clay items drying in the strong sunlight. Visit Dattatraya Square. The Dattatraya Temple is the main attraction of the Square which is constructed by King Yaksha Malla. The temple is believed to have been built with the stem of a single tree. Visit The Peacock Window, it is also called the "Mona Lisa of Nepal", is a rare masterpiece in wood. Dating back to the early 15th century, the unique latticed window has an intricately carved peacock in its center. Enjoy lunch at best available local restaurant. Transfer back to your hotel at 2:30 pm or 5:30 pm in Kathmandu Valley.

- drmarkstravels0 contributionsSpices and Fine Shopping of True Nepali CraftworkThe Asan Bazaar is a wide area that also includes the Durbar Square of Kathmandu and leads right into the Thames shopping area. Durbar Square has a fee if you go over to see the sites and historic building. The 9 story palace is still under re-construction. Asan Bazaar is filled with great spices at very good prices. Most spice prices are fixed but if you are looking to buy a large quantity you can bargain. This is also the place to buy the women's Kurta (tunic) and other nice tea sets and other finely made metal wear, chess sets, and more.Written June 20, 2024
- nigla20220 contributionsExpensiveI used Nepal cab to go to the airport. It was expensive. The hotel transfer costs more so I contacted Nepal cab. They were only marginally less than the hotel car, but still exhorbitant.Written May 9, 2024

- guy_paenen0 contributionsNice views on (the way to) the top.We took a taxi to take us to the entrance. "InDrive" is now also operational in Pokhara, and the price in the app appeared as 580 NRS to take us there starting from the Lake Side Rd. It's a steep ride and we asked the driver to stop a couple of times to take pictures. As he picked us up in the city, the driver proposed to take us there, wait for us while we visited the pagoda, and take us back. He asked for 1500 NRS which I found a very honest deal. From the entrance point there are approx 300 steps to the pagoda. Enough resting spots/restaurants/souvenirshops on the way up. The view on top is very nice. No entry fee to the pagoda. Depending on the weather or the season, better to plan this trip early morning or late afternoon ... and not around noon as we did.Written September 28, 2023

We loved seeing the town and the beautiful drive up to Nagarkot. Praha also assisted me after I returned home when I had a question about some art I had purchased and was being shipped to me. - Winter D0 contributionsBhaktapur and Nagarkot SunsetWonderful tour of Bhaktapur - guide gave us both a great historical tour and a great "slice of life" tour, showing us the real, living side of the town. He was very kind and flexible with us. We then went up to Nagarkot to catch the sunset. Unfortunately it was too hazy to see much, but the tour itself was great and the guide was very friendly. Highly recommended!Written April 29, 2023
- KMenjivar0 contributionsAmazing little private tourI loved just touring the different squares and temples. It felt very catered to us. Our guide was very informative. He even took us to see healing bowls and to a grocery store to find some authentic goods.Written April 27, 2023
- S8970SFmeganp0 contributionsHistory at its finestWe booked this tour to get a better idea of the area we are staying in including the sights, culture and history. However, what we got was much more than that. We were greeted at our hotel by our guide Ramesh at our hotel. Ramesh graciously waited while we were a few minutes late, then started us on an amazing tour into the older part, down to the old palace and back to the newer part. Ramesh was friendly and fun with loads of knowledge and the ability to speak many languages. We are very happy we booked this experience and had Ramesh as our guide.Written April 9, 2023
- 469anitad0 contributionsDo not use or book with this company!!!’Terrible. Do not use this company. Driver took me to an unpopulated parking lot. No one else was there. The “luxury” vehicle they were supposed to come with was a very small compact at best. No sighting whatsoever. No satisfactory response from the company. Buyer beware!!!! This agency is absolutely terrible and a complete money ripoff. Not happy at all!Written March 2, 2023
- nickrylancetravel0 contributions3-Day Trek to Nagarkot via ChisapaniWe absolutely loved our private 3 day trek with Phul, our expert guide, who accompanied us and cheered us on as we trekked through Shivapuri National Park, into Chisopani and finally Nargarkot. It was stunning, the views of the Himalayas are breathtaking and the villages we passed were fascinating with local children returning from school, families cooking and goats hanging out :) Namaste, Phul, thank you for being such great company and for guiding us so well. We miss Nepal and the people.Written February 8, 2023
- podrozniczka600 contributionsVery pleasant introduction to Nepali diningThe venue seems to have many nicely appointed rooms in which they entertain groups of tourists. The decorations through the Nepali Chulo are beautiful exemplifying the beauty and rich culture of the region. You get greeted in a traditional way at the door. Seating is at long tables with a good view of the stage. Multiple courses of elaborate dinner are served as well as local rice vodka . The food and service were good. We enjoyed also the entertainment portion of the show featuring regional dances.Written January 28, 2023
