Really good walkingtrip with a lovely guide, Tilak Kaflet
We went on a 11 days trip to Poon Hill and Annapurna base camp with a friend. It was amazing and everything was well arranged ( hotels and transport). Especially because we had an amazing guide, Tilak Kaflet. He was friendly, arranged everything, made some good changes in the tour for us, thought us a lot about de culture, the food and the people. And when I got sick, due to bacteria, he brought me to the hospital. Even when his work as a guide was over he visited me everyday in his own time and brought me when I left the hispital to the hotel. I advice everybody this company and thus guide.

      Unforgettable Annapurna Base Camp Trek!
The trekking was wonderfull and a unforgettable experience! We really recommend to do it if you visit Nepal. Organisation, guiding and also the views are amazing. We had a really great time with our guide Raju Tamang and assistant guide Bikram Rai, we couldn't wish for better ones. Their knowledge, responsibility, great service and fun we made together was very nice. We will never forget this cultural and nature experience in the beautiful mountains. If you book a trekking with Royal Mountain Travel ask for Raju Tamang and Bikram Rai to guide you ;)

      Good customized trip overall!
Choosing Royal Mountain Travel has been the biggest blessing of my 7 day Nepal Stay! After traveling to 45+ countries I can honestly say this is one of the most authentic cultural experience I have ever had, in any country. I walked into their office and met my wonderful travel agent Sabita on day 2 of travel, gave her a fixed budget and she made the best out of it. When my trip to Pokhara was cancelled due to weather, I was immediately rebooked with a monastery trip on the same day with adjusted itinerary, so I didn’t feel bored. Every day Sabita made sure I have a full day of itinerary at my request. My driver Guvinda speaks very good English which made my pick up very easy (I stayed at a very difficult area), he was able to pick up/drop off at my place of request without issues. Always came to work with a smile. Cared for my safety. My guide for 2 days, Anup was very knowledgeable and patient with me. All around a good guy! We are at the best Newari places at very fair price. My office agent Kabindra is also very patient when working with me. My cooking class was hosted by one of the senior guide’s wife Saveena and we had such a good time visiting local markets and just talking about life. Oh did I mention my mask painting class, wood carving class and my Everest mountain flight? 10/10 will chose this honest travel agency again. If there’s 10 stars I’d honestly give it to them. This review is not commissioned. I hope you have a good time in Nepal! ❤️🤞🕉️ last pic is me and Govinda’s goodbye ice cream. I will miss everyone here!

      A group tour of Nepal
Royal Mountain travel arranged a cultural highlight of Nepal with a 4 day trek to Poon Hill. I worked with Sabita their business development manager to arrange the tour and she exceeded expectations and went above and beyond. Narayan was my guide and he is very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I am so thankful to work with this company and highly recommend for anyone who is coming to Nepal, Tibet, or Bhutan.

Breathtaking 10 days trekking to Poonhill and ABC
Together with my wife and my oldest son we had a breathtaking 10 day trekking tour from Pokhara to Poon Hill, further to Annapurna Base Camp and back to Phedi. The professional guide Sandepp Basnet supported us together with two very friendly porters throughout the tour. They were a great team with us. He gave us a lot of background information about the culture, the religion, the food, the education and the life in Nepal, which was fascinating for us. We learnt a lot about his country. Sandeep was taking great care of us. We were hiking 4-7 hours per day, in some cases steep up and down, through 3 climate zones from subtropical to minus 8 degree centigrade. We had bright skies, short rain falls, a thunder storm and snowfall. We also had the chance to watch a Buddhist temple festival for Nepalese New Year. All in all, it was a great. All our expectations were more than met. We are planning to return back to Nepsal and we will definitely rely on Sandeep‘s services again.

      Stunning eco-trekking
Wonderful experience, 6 day community trekking. What an amazing trekking this was, with stunning nature, nice climbs, lots and lots of stairs 😊 and nice walks ans -luckily- some days clear view so we could see the Annapurna from Mohare hill.. what a stunning experience this was.. we felt especially in Tikot really dipped into the local culture and could have an exyhow it is to live in a village like that. The local hotels and homestays (which were actually also kind of B&bs with mostly very nice rooms especially in BAs Kharka, what exceeded every expectation also by the very friendly owners. Great food and nice companions that we met during our trip were a good extra😊 For travellers in spring: it can be warm but some nights it can be very cold😊 luckily our sleeping bags and blankets from the lodges kept us warm at night. The skilled, very friendly, patient and ever helpful guidance of Raju Tamang and Surat Lama, such truly nice people were key to the trip and made it an unforgettable experience. We had a lot of information to our countless questions and were helped so friendly.. there is a lot to learn from this attitude in Holland😊 I give this a 10 out of 10!!

      I wish….come true!
How to put into words what I have experienced so far. Imagine spending years and years thinking about travelling to Nepal and going for a 6 day trekking. Then one day it’s finally happening and on top of all that you get to have a guide like Raju Tamang and a porter like Surat Lama. The both of them went out of their way to make my trip the best experience I could have hoped for. Both of them ever so humble yet informative, both of them quiet but leading the way if necessary. Never have I felt more secure in my ways, my every need tended to and al my questions answered. A big thank you to Raju, who so quietly stayed ‘behind’ I order not to put any pressure on my slow pace going uphill. Bistari-bistari, langzaam-langzaam. A big thank you to Surat who carried the big backpack all those days. I wouldn’t have been able to do this trekking without his help. All the days spent on the trekking I only needed to submerge myself in the beautiful landscape, the breathtaking Mountain View’s, the interaction with local people and enjoying the excellent food and drinks. And how much fun it was to play a Nepalese card game all together. I will surely introduce the game once home in Holland. I could go on and on about these wonderful days with Raju and Surat, but best to experience this kind of adventure yourself. I know I will keep this in my heart forever.

ABC Annapurna Base Camp with Sandeep and Uma Nath
Met Sandeep the evening before we left voor ABC and helped me to prepare as good as possible. He is a young experienced guide who knows what he is doing, knows how to plan the travel days as optimal as possible and cares for your wellbeing. Together with porter Uma Nath he forms a good team. I recommend him as your guide.

      Turning wood into art.
My experience learning about and practicing wood carving at Nyatapola crafts was totally enjoyable. To learn and practice this incredible craft from the people who have been immersed in it for generations was truly memorable. Monica and her team were very welcoming and made the learning fun. If you would like the opportunity to immerse yourself in this fascinating culture of turning wood into art and learning the skills to take away and practice yourself then this is an experience that I can highly recommend.. Fantastic experience
My wife and I enjoyed this wonderful hike with our tour guide Raj. Raj was very professional and friendly. He gave us plenty of time to stop and take photos. He explained the area, the plants, everything round us. He is very knowledgeable and speak very good English. He treated us to tea and went out of his way to give us the most wonderful experience during this hike. We’re planning to do other hikes with this company and Raj. Bravo!

A wonderful experience in Bardiya NP and Naarkot with RMT
I travelled with RMT back in December 2019 and was very pleased to contact them again in April 2023 to arrange my visit to Nepal last month. This time, I spent about nine days in Nepal visiting Bardiya National Park and hiking in the Nagarkot area. Sabita Khadka from RMT put together a very good itinerary which enabled me to enjoy both places in a very relaxed manner. I stayed at the Tharu Community Homestay in Bardiya and the hosts made we feel very welcomed and as one of their family with their warm hospitality. I also enjoyed the walks through the Community forest with the guides. The highlight was the two jeep safaris in Bardiya National Park where I was fortunate to see the Bengal tiger on both days. Again, my thanks to the guide and driver who were very alert throughout to make this a memorable experience. I spent half a day in Bhaktapur and had a good tour of all the cultural sights with the excellent guide, Anup and driver, Shanti. The three nights at the Country Villa Hotel were very enjoyable and the location and views of the mountains from there are simply majestic. The two treks I did from Nagarkot were very nice walking through different terrain and landscapes. My thanks to Anup and Shanti for their wonderful guiding and driving respectively. I hope to travel to Nepal in the future and use the efficient and personalised services of RMT once again.

Amazing 5-day trek to Poon Hill
We did the 5-day Poon Hill Trek with Royal Mountain and it was great! Every aspect of the trek (accommodation, food, transport) was perfectly organized. Be prepared for the cold, if you are planning to do this trek in the winter (we did it in January), but also, be prepared to get blown away by the astonishing views of the Annapurna mountains. We enjoyed every bit of it. Our guide Yuvi and porters Man & Coron were extremely helpful. Yuvi is a great trekking guide who - besides being a very nice guy - takes his work as a trekking guide serieus which makes you feel comfortable and safe. We would defintely recommend booking this trek with this organization!

Overall the place is definitely mesmerizing. However my guide didn't seem to have much to say about these places. Felt like we were just strolling through and getting it done.

They advertised to finish the trip at 6:15pm but was actually asked to leave with them around 4:30pm. I reasoned and wanted to spend more time there then they did stretch it to 5pm... So I let him go and stayed back on my own. Took a ride at my own expense and went back.

Overall I felt like I could have just been with myself and had a better time. More like I paid for transportation, that too was one way only.

Wouldn't recommend based on my experience.

Was a great intimate tour of two culturally significant Nepali cities. The tour also provided a wonderful insight to Newari culture (the local people). The guide was very insightful and knowledgeable - their excitement and love for their city was amazing. Would recommend for travellers looking to explore these two cities!

We had a wonderful tour to the Unesco site Bhaktapur and quiet old town Panauti with guide Dilip Shakya and driver Shanti Ghisting.

Dilip’s knowledge of Nepalese history and culture was above our expectations.

it was the last and the best day during our visit to Kathmandu and we highly recommend this tour to travelers.

We liked Royal mountain travel company - everything was very well organized and guide Dilip and driver Shanti made our trip unforgettable.

    Thank you!

Dilip is really knowledgeable and fun. The reason I rate this low is because of a few decisions he made during our tour. First, it started raining in the first city (there's 2 cities the entire tour). My partner and I were the only ones on the tour with Dilip. When it started to rain, we went into a local shop to wait out the rain. I had thought that would be for a few minutes. It was for over an hour. Dilip didn't want to go into the rain to the car, even though my partner and I, the guests he is serving, had rain jackets and were fine going.

Second, as I said earlier there are two phases to the tour. The first is Bakhtapur, which was awesome and had some really beautiful temples. After that we went to Panauti to walk around. However, getting to Panauti takes 40 minutes. We walked around for maybe 20m. That means we spent 1.5h travelling to see a very small town for 20m. The economics don't make sense.

Effectively, we lost an hour from rain because Dilip didn't bring his rain jacket that day. We also lost 4h in traffic because the entire day was pushed because we waited in the store for the rain. The tour was supposed to end at 430pm, instead we got home at 730pm. Again, Dilip is really well acquainted with the stories. However, you need to serve your guests. If your guests want to go, while it's raining, you go. I could have saved 3h+ of my time by not taking this tour

I had the most incredible time on my tours with Royal Mountain Travel. My tour guide (and the tour company itself) were both professional, extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and hospitable. I loved both towns so much. They were deep and rich with history, so fascinating to learn about them and the rich culture. I loved the food, the local arts and crafts, the temples and architecture...all of it! Just a wonderful country in general but this tour company and my tour guide really made it that much more wonderful! I cannot wait to go back and do another tour with them!

Dilip is a very sympathetic and knowledgeable tour guide with many insider's tips, e.g. for interesting/special Panauti places (only few tourists get to see these) or for the best Juju Dhau Joghurt in town. Reliable transport with cold water available. Highly recommended trip for tourists interested in Nepal/Bhaktapur/Panauti.

Guides are a must to understand this fascinating medieval city. As in most UNESCO sites, street vendors are as thick as soup. No to them means maybe, if they persist enough, so just ignore them. If you buy one trinket, they will be on you like locusts for more. Public toilets are filthy. Carry your own toilet paper. You probably do not want to sit down, so try to go before you get there.

We had an outstanding day thanks to Dilip and the driver (sorry, name forgotten, but she was great at taking advantage of the narrowest gap and keeping us going despite the busy lead up to the festival)!

Unique and unmissable experience in the rural town of Panauti, learning about the Hindu deities and understanding the meaning and history of the temples, and then walking around after the rice has been harvested watching the sifting and dryng in the open spaces.

Then the classic tour around the amazing Bhaktapur, seeing historic monuments and the royal palace, though disappointed that as non-Hindus we were not allowed into the central courtyard of the palace. We were surprised by an impromptu course in pottery and also in Thanka painting.

Not to forget a great Newari lunch with local specialities known to Dilip and very well chosen and explained by him, and rice beer!

Full marks for a great experience and for Dilip responding to our interest, and fit making us feel so welcome.

I enjoyed visiting both destinations. I learned a lot about Nepal and it's people from my guide, who was very knowledgeable.

Bhaktapur Durbar is extremely fascinating and definitely worth a visit. I didn't know about Panauti as all, and was also positively surprised. It is a traditional, tranquil Newari town, where you can escape the hassle of the big city.

    Overall, fully recommended :)
