About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- A5308YDsandys0 contributionsGreat trek in a short timeWent for 4 days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, my guide was Season. I asked to join just 3 days in advance and they arranged the trip well. My guide shared his knowledge and experiences on trekking, so as life in Nepal. And most important was - I was too careless leave my personal belongings in one of Guesthouse on the mountain, he tried his best to call everyone so that I get it back on the next day in Pokhara. Thank you so much and really appreciated that. So as the guesthouse was honest & trustable! And for the trek itself, It's a rather easy trek. But for people who has limited travel days or just like me want to see how trekking in Nepal looks like, it's a good start. Trekking thro nature, rice Terrance, villages, forest in mountain && We were so fortune to see golden sunrise on the Annapurna range during on top of Poon Hill, it's surely the highlight of this trek :)Written September 24, 2024
- S6059SWkyleh0 contributionsTake Your TimeSeason (the guide) was pretty cool. The porters were awesome! Definitely be selective about who you choose to do this hike with. The guide will tailor the hike to the quickest in the group. The mountains are beautiful and the tea houses were good. I only wish we had more time to ask questions, learn about the surrounding landscapes, and take in more of the scenery, otherwise I would book with this company again.Written June 2, 2024

Knowledgeable and professional service as they answered all questions and kept us well informed throughout the trip. I would highly recommend this company for any trekking adventure you are planning. - Jens and Ros R0 contributionsGreat company and best guide everThe end to end process was great and everything was planned really well by Himalayan Recreation. We couldn’t have had a better guide, Raj. We are in our 70s and Raj always believed in us and gave us confidence that getting to base camp was going to happen. He knew all the ins and outs of everything, he was kind, considerate, patient, helpful, informative and we were very lucky to have him as our guide. He’s a thoroughly decent guide. He turned our dream into reality. Ask for Raj as your guide when you book with Himalayan Recreation.Written May 21, 2024
- helenaa4920 contributionsTrek & Yoga combination for Mardi Himal.Fantastic trek. Great Yoga teachings. This company really gave an attention to every detail, need, and level to make this a great experience for me. Along the trek my guide was open to modifications to make me wake up in great places and have maximum energy for going to mardi Himal base camp…. Where we had a yoga session after sunrise and we were alone in this beautiful space. Everything was great and this organiser have experience. I will definitely book with them again. However I will be a little more demanding in what hotel to stay at in Pokhara, now that I have understood that if hotels don’t treat monthly against cockroaches, there will be a problem for that. That is the point that can be better. For the rest of… amazing attention, teachings, and trek ! And the food at the tea houses are fantastic and fresh. ! I will come back to discover more.Written May 19, 2024

The prices were reasonable and the guide (Varat) and his team were helpful to support me to finish the ABC trek successfully. Afterward, the guide took me around Kathmandu, explaining Nepal's history and culture. I recommend this company for its good prices, friendly staff, and cultural insights.Written May 11, 2024
- J2789GImeganr0 contributionsGreat TourI went on this trip with my mom and I. While it was a cloudy morning our tour guide, Krishna Acharya, made us have a really good time. He is very kind and knowledgeable. The drive is peaceful and so beautiful even if it’s a cloudy morning. The rainforests are lush and the Bhaktapur is a one of a kind experience. You can connect with culture and see the beauty that is Nepal.Written April 27, 2024

- georgiec570 contributionsAmazing Khopra Danda trekWe did the 9 day Khopra Danda trek with guide Narayan and Rajan and it was amazing! Very challenging but rewarding hike. We went in January which was the off season which meant that some parts of the trail were hard to find and a couple of the lunch spots were not open but this was not a big problem. Our guide Narayan and Rajan were incredible and supported us and made us feel safe throughout the trip. Would really recommend this trip for hikers looking for a quieter walk away from the busier tourist trips.Written January 19, 2024

- 957paulo0 contributionsGreat experience if planned properlyGreat hike, but could be better. It was a 5 day hike so there was one day when I descended a huge distance on very steep stone steps. Very hard on the muscles. I would make it 6 days and descend an easier route. And then add on a trip to base camp - I just went to the viewing platform. Also, a lot of hiking was in the woods, which got a bit boring - I prefer the open.Written January 1, 2024

We had a great tour with Sudipa, a very friendly and well informed female guide. She has a good knowledge and answered all our questions. After all there’s so much to see and she taughed us also a lot about culture and the life in Kathmandu and Nepal. When we got tired she changed the tour a little so we were able to see everything, she’s very caring. We enjoyed our day very much and would definitely recommend this tour.

This was my first trip to Nepal. I am absolutely in love with Nepal and her people. I toured the city with a friend with Jamuna as our guide. She arrived ahead of schedule for our pick up. Politely waited for us to finish our breakfast and we were on our way. She was a lovely person. Walked and talked patiently with us. I love all the colors of Nepali traditional dresses. I enjoyed walking through historic parts of Darbar Square, lunch with a fantastic view at Boudhanath. My favorite of the day was Pashupatinath Temple. We sat on the other side of the river banks and observed funeral pyre ceremonies. It was very moving for me to see death handled with such care and reverence. Jamuna filled me in to the rites and rituals that I was seeing just across the river. It was like seeing the city with a knowledgeable friend. Thank you, Jamuna, for a wonderful day.

We toured these highlights of Nepal with Jamuna. She was an excellent tour guide, very punctual, friendly, kind, informative, sociable and she took us to a lot of extra spots for shopping and for food that were all great experiences. We saw a live cremation ceremony, got to see the living goddess Kumari, we made pottery in one of the ancient villages and even decided to add a second tour the next day because we really enjoyed her company and how accommodating and patient she was with us even though we took extra time shopping and doing other things not scheduled. She definitely went with the flow and catered to our needs! Would definitely come back and do another tour with her again!

This is a really good 1-day tour that covers a number of highlights in Kathmandu. Or guide, Jamuna, was very knowledgable about all of the locations we visited and was able to explain the history behind each location which made the day very informative. It would have been preferable if the tour company had been up front about the entrance fees needing to be paid at each location but this is mentioned in other reviews.

The guide was fine in the end, but they were over an hour late, and only came at all because my hotel called several times asking what had happened.
When I called they claimed I had no booking. So I asked the hotel to help, they called and the tour operator claimed the car was on the way, 20 minutes later they said the car went to the airport (5 minutes from my hotel). 20 minutes later they said the car was on it's way again.
After an hour of waiting, and being lied too, the car showed up with no guide, we had to go get him.
Now 1.5 hours behind schedule the guide said he was called earlier that morning and asked to quickly come get me, he made it clear he didn't work directly for this operator.
Lots of other people offer this tour, book with any of them just not these guys.

This is the 2nd time that my tour guide is Jamuna. She is very knowledgeable about the heritage sites and communicates very well. She can answer all the things that interests me and made me curious of the things I see. She is also good in taking photographs and really finds a way for me to have good pictures. Overall, the trip to Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the tour itself is highly recommended.

We took this full day tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO heritage sites. Outstanding experience and the main reason for this was the brilliant guide, Jamuna Khatri who is knowledgeable, mindful and attentive. We enjoyed the tour so much that decided to have another private tour with the company and Jamuna.
Kathmandu is an enticing city that comes a live with a good guide. I highly recommend this tour and Jamuna.
