This is an excellent tour if you're interested to learn about Hindu and Buddhist religions and how these are inscribed across Kathmandu's landscape. At the stupa, you have the option to learn more in-depth about the craft of mandalas, the artisans that paint them, and what they represent. You are able to purchase if you're interested, but you are free to decline and just learn (they're not pushy).
My guide, Rita, was open and informative, and I felt gave me insights into Nepali culture beyond what is described as part of the tour, which I loved. I happened to be the only person on the tour, and I was impressed that the company didn't cancel the tour. Perhaps a benefit of going solo was that Rita let me determine the pace and time I wished to spend at different locations, and she was open and responsive to my questions and conversation. I found Rita very approachable and friendly, and highly recommend her as a guide. She even helped me arrange and Pathao ride and waited until the driver picked me up at the end of the tour. Highly recommend all around!

This tour was my first experience of Nepal, reccomended to me by Intrepid Travel. I had an absolutely incredible time. Pratistha was my tour guide for the day and she was excellent. Extremely kmowledgeable and informative, very funny and friendly, made sure you saw and did everything you wanted to, and made the trip completely hassle free to ensure you had the best time possible. The sites were extremely interesting and deeply spiritual, there lies a rich cultural experience in this trip, and if you take the time to learn so of the history and language, which Pratistha was readily able to teach, you'll come to have a much more profound experience. 10/10.

This tour exceeded my expectations! Pratistha is a fantastic guide. She was very informative, patient and friendly. I would have have been able to do this on my own. I felt completely safe with her and she made sure that I was comfortable the entire time. I learned so much on this tour and will not forget this experience. I highly recommend this tour!

Attended the so called Spiritual tour in early November 2017. Very good guide, a young woman named Gyanu, and she spoke just about the best English I ever heard in Kathmandu. But why, according to the costs in Nepal, so expensive? Over 50 US dollars for about three hours? (when you can have a decent hotelroom for 5 dollars and a good 3-course dinner for 10) . The answer is obvious when googling. Urbanadventures is not nepalese. Furthermore you are expected to pay everyone involved, from the guides to the rickshawdrivers (took part in an evening rikhshaw tour as well) quite some tip. Why? Why are they not paid by the company? There is a company named Socialtours, an better option. Cheaper and you support the locals! Because of the price, I am not giving a top score.

Hi traveler,
Thank you for taking time to write this review. We admit that our tours might seem slightly more expensive in comparison to other tour-providers, but we have to let you know that paying fair wages to everyone involved, paying all the taxes and ensuring the best quality products tend to cost a lot. We are glad to know that you enjoyed the tour despite your concerns about price though! And we will look into ways to make them more affordable for everyone in the future. Regarding the tips, it really depends on your level of satisfaction and the decision to tip them is entirely yours, no pressure at all.
Thank you again for the feedback,

I did this tour on my last afternoon in Kathmandu, and it was perfect: a wonderful guide (Kishor) who gave clear insight into spirituality in Nepal and knew everything (seemingly!) about the sites we visited. Kishor also has perfect English so he was able to answer all my questions, and a curiosity about other cultures and countries as well as his own. If I hadn't been leaving the next day I would have booked him for a private tour of something else in Kathmandu :-) Doing this tour in the afternoon is ideal too because that's when Boudinath Stupa is most beautiful and busiest - with maroon-robed Tibetan nuns, monks and other pilgrims circumambulating the stupa, a sight to behold.

I toured the temple and stupa and also stayed for the priest lighting ceremony in the evening. It's not to miss. Not only sacred but very festive and gives you a true feel of Kathmandu. It's attended by many locals.

Jaw dropping experience at both Pashupatinath Temple and Bodhnath Stupa. We were lucky to catch a special celebration at Bodhnath Stupa, learned about Buddhist art, and received blessing from a monk at temple. Then we arrived at the Pashupatinath Temple just in time for their nightly festival of light. We learned a lot about the religion and their rituals. The festival was a great experience mingling with dancing and singing worshipers. A highly recommended experience!
