We were incredibly lucky to have Fred as our driver- he drove brilliantly on the interesting terrain and happily turned his music off, so that we could sleep for most of our long distant drives. He was incredibly knowledgeable and seemed to know everyone and every dialect, which was very helpful when we were trying to decipher what the children were saying to us. We were unlucky with the group on our first gorilla trek and we were very grateful to Fred,l for making sure that our second gorilla trek was a success. We can’t thank him enough for his peaceful kind manner, throughout our trip, which was brilliantly organised, from start to finish.

From the beginning Stephen and Kjong stood out as knowledgeable and informed about what would be possible (we had wanted a customised itinerary) in the amount of time and budget we had available. Abdu, our guide, went above and beyond what we had expected. Uganda is magnificent and yes, the gorilla trekking was a highlight, but we also enjoyed the experiences recommended by Kjong that we would have skipped without their guidance and encouragement.

We spent 9 days in Uganda starting in Kampala then Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi forest with the Gorilla Habituation Experience and Lake Mburo national Park. Except some minor issues at the start that were solved immediately by Stephen, our contact at Kjongugandasafaris, this trip was one of the most memorable we ever had. Everything was perfectly organized and flawless. If you ever take a trip with them which we highly recommend make sure that Justice is your guide. He is a careful and thoughtful driver and made sure that we felt safe and pampered the whole time. Apart from that his knowledge about the country and the animals was outstanding ( especially when you are a bird lover). Every wish or suggestion we made he took care of( buying street food, going to a typical Uganda restaurant) and his sight was outstanding concerning animals. If we ever go to Uganda again we will surely try to be on the trip with him and Kjongugandasafaris.

Uganda is an incredible country, with the combination of savannah and rainforest endowing it with unmatched diversity of wildlife and terrain.  The wide range of experiences we had in one relatively small country was unmatched in our travels.  Additionally, the Ugandan people are hardworking, happy and friendly, and many waved to us in each rural village we drove through or visited.  We could not recommend Uganda highly enough for anyone considering a trip to Africa, especially if you want to steer clear of the usual tourist circuits where you often encounter more mzungu than locals! The team at Kjong worked with us to prepare an amazing itinerary, which included some unusual stops in addition to the normal Ugandan sights.  We visited Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls, Kibale Naitonal Park, Bigodi Swamp, Queen Elizabeth NP, Kyamburra, Rushaga and Nkuringo at Bwindi, Mt Gahinga NP and Kigali. Stephen was a great organiser and when things went wrong - he was always very quick to do whatever was required to resolve the issue.  He even drove 10 hours to meet us at the end of our time in Uganda, just to make sure we had a good time and to seek honest feedback on what Kjong did well and what it could do better.  That is a great approach, in my view.  He also arranged accommodation at sensational lodges, and negotiated prices on our behalf that were far far better than we could have got if we had bought them directly. Justus and Solomon were our guides in Uganda, and they were both excellent guides and drivers, with Justus in particular having enormous knowledge about animal/bird species and going to any length necessary to make sure we were happy and things happened as we wanted them to.  In Rwanda, which is a very different experience to Uganda, Moses was an outstanding guide also, going over and above to ensure we saw and learned what we wanted, and got a great knowledge of the country, its history and its people during our stay. In summary, I am very happy to recommend Kjong to be your partner on any Ugandan and/or Rwandan journey.

We had an amazing two weeks with Moses as our driver. This is the second year we've been with Moses and he goes above and beyond for us every time. Nothing is too much trouble! Excellent and safe driving, very knowledgeable of the the roads and always reliable. He helps us and gets involved with every aspect of our trip, and provides a lot of fun and laughs too. Kjong always listen to our needs and provide a reliable vehicle suitable for our needs. We had a great trip with Moses to Kidepo National Park at the end of our time in Uganda which was amazing and so beautiful. We went to Murchison last year with Moses which was also amazing. We have had the pleasure to be driven up to Murchison three times with Moses and once with Angelo to Jinja. We have been to Uganda 22 times and we love Kjong so much that we would never change our driver. We were just there last month and Moses picked us up in Hoima from Kampala. On the return trip we decided to visit Ziwa Rhino Santuary and Moses made it happen! We had such a great experience. First we went to a nearby restaurant to order our lunch then travel nearby to visit the rhino. I was amazed how close we were able to get. Two rhinos were pregnant and we just missed a baby rhino being born by two days! We will go back next year and bring others with us. The food at the restaurant where Moses took us was excellent. Although the trip back to Kampala is long, Moses is always friendly and he will stop whenever we need to. I totally recommend Kjong Safari whether you are going to Murchison, Kiwa Rhino Sanctuary, or just need a ride to and from the airport. We have been driven all over Uganda by Kjong and we always feel so safe. If you want friendly, safe and to have a great experience -use Kjong Safaris!

Wow! What an amazing two weeks driving from Kampala, to Jinja, through Queen Elizabeth and all the way down to Kigali via Lake Kivu and back. Fred made the entire trip so much better. He was always smiling and helpful and knew everything that needed to be done, so that we never had to worry about a thing. Couldn't recommend him any higher. Just back from 2 weeks in northern Uganda, driven by the lovely Moses of Kjong. With Becca and Hugh of NUOP, we were delivering water filters and Afripads in Agago district. This involved some long drives, searching for villages with sometimes hazy directions, and the kind of road where you just have to pick your pothole! Moses was fantastic, totally involved not just in the driving but in all aspects of the project. With friends Kisiki and Geoffrey to accompany, guide and translate, I cannot thank the whole team enough.

Started their trip by providing us information on the tipping system..not a good start! Then the taxi driver tried to improve it by at one point he was all over when we just wanted to relax..

After sending many messages to companys frecuently named in travelled forums (Spain) asking for a taylored budget trip Uganda, a friend of mine recomended Kjong as a marvellous experience he had as touring with them some years ago. Kjong give us a complete plan with all details for touring all the highlights in 12 days. Have to say that the tour was absolute amazing including Kidepo Valley, Murchinson Falls, Ziwa rhino Sanctuary, Kibale Chimpace Trekking, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest, Buyonyi Lake and Mburo lake and finally a interesting quick kampala tour. The Ceo Stephen always was taking care of us about any troubles could happen on the way (really there were not and single incident and even he take his time to reach with us our lugagge that did not arrive on time with the flight.) Our driver Justice was fantastic all the way and he really is as good driver as a fantastic eagle eyed to located all the animals infinite birds and even the invisible leopard. Just to resume a pair of incredible weeks with the highest human team you can find in Uganda.
