Francis was a great tour guide who made sure we had correctly sized bikes before even arriving in Uganda. He also assisted with a pickup/drop off from our hotel for a very reasonable price.
The ride itself was excellent and provided a great experience of seeing small family and village life. The trails went through tropical fruit plantations and had some great downhill speed areas. It was a wonderful experience with the added touch being a short boat ride across Lake Victoria to start the ride.
Highly recommend this trip and for those wanting more, longer or multi day bike ride tours are also available.

It was a great tour and fun to just take a boat and it seems like you are hours away from the big city. Beautiful ride through the woods and nature, Francis was a great guide, the bike I got was a good one and the tour was a little hilly but doable and it made it even more fun. So I can easly recommend that tour.

Yesterday, I did a daytrip to the island, actually a peninsula, guided by James. James genuinely cares for the safety and well being of his guests. He is also an excellent guide, identifying all kinds of animals and plants. We were a group of 4 expatriates, with different riding experience and we got along well. This trip is accessible to anyone with regardless of your level of fitness and your cycling experience.
The bikes were as good as you can get, all with 29 inch wheels with disk brakes and XT 1X10 drivetrain. I highly recommend this trip.

Great experience! I cycle a lot in the Netherlands, but what I experienced during this ride cannot be compared to anything else. I took the route to the ssezibwa falls (70 km incl retour) with a private guide, and that was great fun. Everything was very well taken care of, and above all, a day to remember. Furthermore, what a nice people the Ugandans are!

The tour starts from the shore of Lake Victoria and runs through the off-road stretches between local villages. The ride is very relaxing as you watch the locals go about their daily lives. At the same time, there are some exciting downhills throughout the ride, making it a very satisfying experience.

This trip starts after a short boat ride from Kampala to a nearby peninsula. The duration of the trip felt just right. Long enough to see a lot of animals and scenery and enjoy the calmness of the area, but not so long as to be tiring. The bikes are modern and well maintained. They have disc brakes, front suspension with optional lockout, 27,5” wheels with off-road tyres and well adjusted gears. The route is scenic, alternating between dirt roads and trails. The topography of the route is such that it should not be a problem for any healthy person to do the trip. Our guide (Francis) did a good job and communicated well after we made the booking. All in all it was a very nice experience and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoy cycling or just want to get a break from the noise and pollution of Kampala.

Did the Hal day Victoria trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. Due to my tight schedule I only had an afternoon to do this trip but red dirt were able to reorganise what is normally a morning departure to midday for me. My guide (Zaga) and I rode about 25km through peaceful back roads and small villages where small children wanted to wave and do high fives with a passing mzungu. Zaga was happy to stop at any times for photos/breaks etc and even bought me a Rolex (the snack!) All in all it was a very enjoyable afternoon out

We really recommend this cycling tour. We had a great guide James. First we took a boat to teh island and started. It was sometimes hard cycle but with those very good bikes we managed. I really recommend this tour away from the busy Kampala and to teh nature and the local people.

Trip started with beautiful boat ride on the calm Victoria lake. Although the bike was little bit too small for me I enjoyd the ride much. The nature with threes, monkeys and birds was great experience. My quide was professional and very caring. Still he had time to answer to all of my questions. I hope I have time to go hiking also. Great way to end year 2022.

Well what a morning! Superb, fun, relaxing! Mr Francis Kizza, our guide, was patient, helpful and just downright amazing. My son Caelan, wasnt feeling well...we canceled initially, but then he brightened up...and off we went. Francis accommodated all the randomness of bringing a teen along. I'm very humbled at his kindness. The chap that made our rolex showed me how to cook them. They were yummy! We has a wonderful morning! So much fun! Dont hesitate peeps, you wont be disoppointed! 6 ⭐ if i could!
