What to expect
  • Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP. Hopefully, your flight is scheduled for an early morning landing in Uganda. Your safari will start from Entebbe airport where you will be picked up by your Driver/Guide who will brief you about your tour and then depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Accommodation: Irungu Forest Safari Lodge | Meals: Lunch, Dinner. Day 2: Chimp tracking in the Kyambura gorge and launch trip along the Kazinga Channel. Be up early, have breakfast and proceed for the Chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge. Thereafter, return to the accommodation for lunch. After lunch you will go for a two-hour launch trip on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes George and Edward and you will surely be fascinated by the concentrations of giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles among others. Accommodation: Irungu Forest Safari Lodge | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Day 3: Exit Queen Elizabeth for Bwindi with en route game drive in the Isasha sector. Have breakfast then set off for Bwindi National Park through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park – famously known for its resident tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions is about 70% though sometimes they are really hard to spot (most especially when they’re down in the grassland looking for prey). Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. With a strenuous day ahead, you will do less on arrival but just check in your accommodation, relax as you prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the following day. Accommodation: Broadbill Forest Camp | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Day 4: Go gorilla trekking Bwindi and later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored. Return to your lodge. Have your lunch and thereafter check out for a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation and sightseeing. Accommodation: Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Day 5: Depart Bunyonyi for your outbound flight in Entebbe Airport. Have a relaxed breakfast at the accommodation with spectacular view of the Bunyonyi little islands just right in front of you and thereafter embark on your return journey to Entebbe, arriving late afternoon/evening. Accommodation: Not Provided | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

5 day trip with Karim
Nov 2021
First of all I want to thank Home to Africa Tours and Travel for making this experience happening. What an Amazing experience to travel in the beautiful landscape of Uganda. Gorilla trekking was of course the main attraction and it definitely did not disappoint , we saw them in just over an hour of walking , thanks to the trackers and our guide. Talking about our guide , Karim I 100% recommend him to be your guide in Uganda we learned so much from him and even ate chicken on the stick together. All I can say is if you want to book a getaway for the family or just as a couple , Home to Africa is the place to go to. Thank you and wil definitely see you guys in the future.

Very well organized, memorable trip in a beautiful country
Sep 2021
Spending time with our primate ‘relatives’ was truly a once in a lifetime experience. The rest of our time in Uganda was also beyond our expectations, it’s a very green and welcoming place. Home To Africa organized everything super smoothly, the programs were very varied (water and inland safari, visiting lakes, community tour etc) and the accommodations were all clean and of high standards. Our guide Derrick also made us feel very comfortable.

GREAT PLACE AND ANIMAL IN SOUTH AFRICA
Jun 2021
I came there 3 years ago and here is my experience. It is a beautiful place in Africa because it has a while of ecosytem there, especially Africa Chimps and Gorilla Trekking Safari. We can visit and take pitures with them to save our unforgetable memory. I wish I would travel there again

The guides were very educative and informative. The safari trekking was so amazing and we got to see more Gorillas than we expected. If you are looking to go for an East African Safari, then Queen Elizabeth National park is a good place to start.

Horrible trip with Home to Africs
Sep 2019
They gave bad advice & poor planning. Don’t trust them. We did not receive a full day tour of Kampala. Two days at Queen Elizabeth NP w no wildlife other than the occasional bird or kob. Their vehicle was beat up and very uncomfortable Their guide was inflexible and difficult to deal with All together at least half the trip was a waste. They put us in a very dangerous situation after a boat ride. We had to climb a treacherous jungle slope to get to our lodge with no assistance Our guide said he wasn’t aware of serious and treacherous trek (
He could have picked us up at the starting point). Their guide in Rwanda was really only a driver and provided almost no info. Stay away from this operator.

Dear Matt, First, we do respect your expressions. However, for the benefit of our potential clients, we would like to respond and shed some light as below: 1. "They gave bad advice & poor planning" A trip/safari has quite a number of aspects e.g. accommodations, activities, weather, clothing, travel time/distance, program flow among others that can be attended to. Looking at your review, we can't help but wish you had pointed out such specifics that you felt you weren't adequately advised on. We really don't think you were given "bad advice" but maybe you were not adequately advised on some aspects (which unfortunately you haven't categorically stated). Now, we may never know what exactly we didn't attend to (very well). Talking about planning, you were involved right from the start until when the final itinerary was generated. In fact, you inquired by providing us your wish-list and the program that you agreed to had taken into consideration all your areas of interest (provided). You may recall that whenever something wasn't clear enough (on email), you could get in touch with Hedmond via skype video call and actually the two of you worked together very well to craft a program that could meet your requirements. It's actually a surprise to see that "poor planning" is being mentioned here and you were part of that planning till the end. It is possible some things may have not hit your expectations but we doubt the magnitude you portrayed it here. 2. "We did not receive a full day tour of Kampala" The above is true. However, if you were such an understanding client we don't think it would have been mentioned over here. Even if you were to mention, maybe you could have mentioned it in some ways that give your fellow travelers clarity on why it happened so. Hopefully, you may recall that there was a heavy downpour that morning which affected the start time of your day. That was a natural happening that we completely had no control over. We can't help but wonder what you would have felt (like) seeing the drive-guide asking you to enter the car and start moving around with you in that heavy rain. We truly regret the fact that you missed a bigger part of what was planned for that day but also we would wish that you show some understanding to our position as well. 3. "Two days at Queen Elizabeth NP w no wildlife other than the occasional bird or kob" It was unfortunate if you didn't see any wildlife of your interest while in Queen. However, it's important to remember that we are talking about wildlife and nature which are very unpredictable. Flashing back, we can clearly recall that we had recommended Murchison Falls NP in your program so as to increase your chance of encountering wildlife within your interest but (unfortunately) you requested that we drop it (Murchison) off the program. As already mentioned, it was very unfortunate that you didn't encounter a good number of wildlife of your interest while in Queen but hopefully, you will understand that it wasn't within our control. If they were tamed, you could have expected us to plan ahead and keep them in some spot but unfortunately that's not true. 4. "Their vehicle was beat up and very uncomfortable" We shall have to double check the above claim, more so with the specific car that was used for your trip and if true, then the challenge remains for us (Home To Africa) to improve on the vehicle condition. 5. "Their guide was inflexible and difficult to deal with" It's unfortunate to hear such a comment. It's something we never expected given the fact that his (guide) previous undertakings had been very good. We can't help but wonder what exactly could have caused a drop in his performance for this particular trip. Well, we shall have a talk with the driver-guide in question to enable us hear his firsthand account as well as point out the above claim and offer some guidance (caution) with hope of avoiding any future occurrence of the same. 6. "They put us in a very dangerous situation after a boat ride We had to climb a treacherous jungle slope to get to our lodge with no assistance" We can agree that the lodge in question is on an elevated setting and it was among your choice of accommodations for reason that its settings provides great view good for taking great pictures. However, the claim that "We had to climb a treacherous jungle slope to get to our lodge" seems blown out of proportion. It could have been fair to say that the walk back to the lodge wasn't easy due to the elevated setting of the lodge. Consequently, suggesting to fellow travelers to request their driver-guide to pick them when returning to the lodge. 7. "Their guide in Rwanda was really only a driver and provided almost no info." This trip wasn't the guide's first and is one of our most requested guide. We are so surprised by the above comment as all our previous clients have not mentioned this to us. This is tempting to think that your comment was intended to give weight to your negatively intended review. Having stated all the above, we would like to let our potential clients know that the above review was blown out of proportion and didn't give a true reflection of our endeavors. We therefore encourage our potential clients to check other reviews about our service before using this particular review as a point of conclusion.
