About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 706ingat0 contributionsGreat afternoon in the park!Great afternoon in the park, the driver Shem picked us up on time, assisted one of the other guests with there online booking to gain entry to the park. This caused a slight delay, I would highly recommend that you do this before hand. This is my second visit to the park, great to see a jackal, hyena and cervil cat plus giraffes, zebra, buffalo, eagle, hippo, crocs, antelope and rhino. The lions were about but we just missed them, our driver Shem did his best to ensure we had the best experience. A few tips, it is dusty on the road bring along some extra water and a couple of snacks, be prepared to go down a few bumpy tracks and enjoy the views! oh yes the birds are amazing, saw a kingfisher. EnjoyWritten September 8, 2024
- 71seana0 contributionsNairobi National ParkOur guide Lawrence was very courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. We saw Giraffes, White Rhinos, Black Rhinos, 2 Prides of Lions, Water Buffalo, Zebras, Ostrich, Crocodiles, Antelope and Wildebeest.Written September 4, 2024
- Jet2436190 contributionsGood trip and a great guide! This is a great trip made even better by Lawrence, our driver and guide. Lawrence was very patient and knowledgeable. He made every effort to get us as close to the animals as possible. The open top van allows you to have a better view and for taking photos. The online sign up and ticket payment is quite long and not straight forward. I had to ask the tour desk assistant at my hotel to set up for me. This part has nothing to do with Kenya Bush, that’s why I’m giving 5 stars, not 4. In fact, Lawrence was very helpful when another guest struggled to do the online payment.Written September 4, 2024
- Trabelsi K0 contributionsUnforgettable Nairobi National Park Tour with Kenya Bush Expeditions and EdwinI had an amazing experience with Kenya Bush Expeditions on a tour of Nairobi National Park. Our guide and driver, Edwin, was outstanding—extremely hospitable, knowledgeable, and passionate about the park and its wildlife. He ensured we had a memorable journey, providing insightful explanations about the animals and making us feel comfortable throughout. - 197sangeetab0 contributionsamazing experience/great guideWe booked this fairly last minute as we were visiting the Elephant Orphanage, and wasnt sure what to expect but the Safari was an incredible experience. Our driver/guide Edwin was brilliant and had so much knowledge of the park and its wildlife. We saw most of what the park has to show (Crocodiles, Hippos, Rhinos, and much much more, all in 4 hours) but the real highlight was the Giraffes. An amazing experience, highly recommended to get a taste of safari without spending a fortune.Written September 3, 2024

- J1977CLgeorger0 contributionsTony Cruise made the tour!Tony Cruize was our magnificent guide. He was professional, entertaining, personal, went the extra mile at every turn. He was knowledgeable about the park, animals, country, culture and so much more! We saw almost everything we asked to see and Tony made the experience well worth while. I HIGHLY recommend Tony Cruize!Written August 30, 2024
- 741jo_g0 contributionsExcellent service and super experienced guideWe took the one day safari to Amboseli, the agent John was really easy to work with and made the whole process super easy. Our brilliant guide, Laurence, clearly had a lot of experience and really knew his stuff. He was able to show us all the wildlife we wanted to see and made sure we caught all the best sights as soon as he had word, using his extensive knowledge of the park and his network of other guides. Unfortunately Kilimanjaro was covered in cloud but Laurence made sure we had fun and saw plenty of cool stuff to make up for it - we even got to see a pride of lions stalking a giraffe. We were gripped! To this day I don't know how he spotted the lions, they were very well hidden until he pointed them out. Lunch was also incredible, in fact one of the best lunches we'd had in Africa on our two week trip. We can't recommend Kenya Bush Expeditions enoughWritten August 29, 2024

What an amazing experience! The hotel takes care of all of the arrangements - all you have to do is get yourself to the bush plane check in desk in Entebbe (located at the international airport) and they take care of the rest. The lodge is gorgeous and comfortable plus tucked away into the jungle. The actual gorilla trek is a once in a lifetime experience. I'm 70 but in fairly good shape. Had two porters to help me hike up the mountain to see the gorillas in their nest. Spent an hour with the family of gorillas. My friend who isn't in the best of health was also able to see the gorillas because there is a nest close to town - about a 20 minute walk down the road, so she was able to experience seeing the gorillas in their habitat as well. In fact the gorilla center does a good job making sure all levels of people can experience seeing the gorillas. In my friend's group there was also a woman in a wheelchair and a 90 year old lady who they put in what I call a Cleopatra chair with 4 porters hoisting her up to walk down the road to see the gorillas. Such a wonderful opportunity for everyone.
The service and food at the hotel are excellent. They offer other local excursions. We did a local tour to an orphanage, a woman's center that teaches women who have lost their spouses a new skill so they can support themselves plus we watched someone make coffee, banana beer and banana gin. Yes we tasted the gin. Tastes just like moonshine!
The only drawback is that it is about an hour drive down a bumpy road from Kihihi airport and the hotel/Bwindi Spend the money and go!

Dear Iceberg,
Thank you for sharing your incredible 5-star review of your 3 Days Gorilla trekking Safari in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest! It's heartwarming to hear that you had such an amazing experience. The convenience of the hotel taking care of arrangements and the comfort of the lodge nestled in the jungle surely added to the overall enjoyment. It was through a company called Natural Habitat, organized by Jill and Brian of One World Dive and Travel. Both are higher end travel companies, but well worth it. They make sure you know exactly what you are responsible for and what they are responsible for and take care of every trip detail. Remember those companies: Natural Habitat and One World Dive and Travel.
Just before the first trek, I hurt my foot and couldn’t put any pressure on it. I was thinking I came all this way only to stay back at the lodge, but two guides lifted me for the entire trek, through rough, steep, densely wooded, lush green and slippery terrain. Everyone was so nice, professional and informative. If I had the money I would go again!
Regarding the gorilla trekking, it was one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever been on. You can see a family’s dynamics. We saw them napping and waking up, hugging and grooming. We saw adults and youngsters having discussions and disagreements. We saw infants gently held and being cared for by parents. We saw toddlers tumbling with each other and being disciplined when they got too disruptive with an adult. When adult gorillas looked into my eyes (yes, you get that close), I felt them reaching in and touching my heart strings. You can sense their plight. If you don’t feel anything, then you have no soul.
Just go!

How long does it take to see gorillas? What is the trekking like? Trying to understand it it’s too hard work for me aged 61? Would you need to have a fitness regime to ensure you can do it? Are you guaranteed to get to see gorillas? Thanks.
Written February 16, 2019
Gorilla trekking takes about 1 hour to 8 hours but all depends where they put overnight. If the last night put up was near to starting point was near then it will take few hours walk to reach the gorillas .At 61 your are fit to track gorillas provided you do not have hypertension causing diseases. If you are fit to walk like 6 kilometers in day then you are fit to track gorillas. Yes you are guaranteed 90% of viewing gorillas in their natural habitat. at Travel Hemispheres our company in Uganda will arrange for you all.
