It was an amazing experience of almost 2--3 hours trekking. We were surrounded by 12-15 Gorillas which was truly an goosebumps memory. Guide was very well experienced and professional. Recommended to all who wants to do Gorilla 🦍 Trekking in real life.

Our last holidays in Rwanda was incredible, we did many tourist activities and the most lovely was a safari in Akagera, John form Universal made the safari a best experience ever. Amazing safari with a flexible company owner, Emmanuel from Universal Rwanda was good , caring and responding to all our needs, my husband and I planned the safari on last minutes and the guy was available for a simple call and agreed our request. Our purpose was to see the big five and we saw faux in big five which is not bad because we sow a variety of wild animals. We did a boat cruise in ihema lake which was a complimentary to our safari and form there we sow crocodiles,hippos and beautiful Birds. A lovely experience all around. Universal was very professional and arranged the permit for the gorilla park. The car was very comfortable and everything was arranged very smoothly. Christian was a very good guide and was great company for the journey too and was happy to explain and discuss all facets of Rwanda and its history. Gorilla experience was absolutely surreal - highly recommend it!

This experience will leave you speechless and if you're here for an answer to the big question; YES, the price of the permit is definitely worth it. Our driver picked us up in Kigali early in the morning for a drive to Volcanoes National Park in Northern Rwanda. There, we met our ranger guide and they paired us with other people who would be visiting the same family. The trek began by driving about an hour up rough, dirt roads to the trail head where we were given walking sticks and the option to hire a porter (10 USD) to help carry your bags. The hiking time is dependent on the family you visit and can be anywhere from 45 minutes to three hours. We were fortunate and seen a family that was lower on the mountain and only had to walk about an hour from the trail head to the families location in the park. Words cannot describe how amazing this experience was. We were fortunate to visit the famous Susa Family and the ability to stand 3 feet from a Silverback and observe how the babies, females and juveniles interact in their home, was truly a privilege. These beautiful animals welcomed us into their home and allowed us to share an hour with them. The ranger and trackers are well equiped for your protection (machetes to cut thought the jungle and AK47s to guard the family from poachers). There was not a single moment I felt unsafe or uncomfortable and the staff shared in our excitement. Tips are expected but there is no pressure on how much to give (we did 5,000 RWF per tracker and 10,000 RWF for the ranger/guide and our driver). Tipping in foreign currency should only be done in USD. This was one of the best things I've done in my life and is something I will never forget. The experience is breath taking and hard to put into words just how amazing it was. If you have the time and the means, visit the mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National Park is a must do when in Rwanda.

Wawoo, what a day, the safari was amazing, we saw almost all animals inside akagera, Christian our guide was a senior man capable to show us animals even far from us, he did good job which made our safari being successful, we highly recommend this safari and don't hesitate to ask Christian to be your guide of the day. This is an incredible experience every one who like to visit Rwanda must definitely book with confidante, i spent a full day in jungle with animals around me, it was first time to see animals in real sense , my guide did a good job, from the pick up in Kigali to the droop off, he was a kind man with enough skills and passion for his guiding carrier, we sow 4 in big five animals which even made our experience excellent. thank you team Universal to make my day, i can't wait recommend this company to any one who wont to travel in Rwanda.

They picked me up at exact time. Very comfortable ride from Kigali, it's a long one but I felt quite safe. It took an army of guides, rangers and porters to help everyone to ensure that we had the gorilla family in close capture, but safety as the priority. The time (12 hours), money and rough terrain are all worth it. The entire team made it a great experience.

We had a great experience in Akagera and Vulcano area! We recommend taking a couple of days for each area if you are leaving from Kigali because it takes up to 3 hours to reach either the Vulcano park or akagera.
