- Climber583462349050 contributions1 Day Gorilla Trek with Heritage SafariVisited Kigali in October and booked a 1 day Gorilla Trekking with Heritage Safari . They were recommended to me by a colleague. Jamila assisted me promptly with all information needed. When I arrived in Kigali she met with me to discuss the tour and gave advice and tips for the day. On the day Cedric collected me at the hotel, and drove me to the Volcano national park. This was a beautiful drive through the countryside. Cedric was a super tour guide and provided good insights on our way there . The trek itself was amazing!!!! We then drove back to Kigali and stopped on the way back for a light and delicious lunch. Thank you Jamila and Cedric!!!Written October 25, 2023
- jasmine22l0 contributionsMt Bisoke + Gorilla TrekI had a wonderful visit to Rwanda with big thanks to Sifa and her team at Heritage Safaris! I came on a work trip and received a recommendation to Sifa from a colleague in Kigali. Sifa was incredibly helpful, flexible, and responsive in helping me develop a suitable solo itinerary for my dates and interests, and accommodated even when I had last minute changes with my work. I ended up doing the Mt Bisoke Hike and the Gorilla Trek, which were both amazing experiences. My guide Fred was very kind, deftly navigated me through the park permit center, shared interesting stories, and brought me to eat at a very delicious local spot. I'd highly recommend Heritage Safaris for your trip to visit the beautiful country of Rwanda.Written July 7, 2023
- T4055XCrohitk0 contributionsMemorable trip to RwandaWe would highly recommend Heritage Safaris. We had a three day visit to Rwanda that covered Kigali and then two days at Volcanoes National Park for gorillas and golden monkeys treks. Every aspect of the trip was very well-organized. We were met at the airport and escorted through immigration and baggage claim to our waiting driver/guide, Fred — who was an excellent traveling companion during our visit. He is knowledgeable, experienced, reliable, funny, and considerate — as well as a very sensible driver. Heritage Safaris took care of our visit to the Genocide Memorial in Kigali and the Dian Fossey Research Center, bookings at Radisson Blu in Kigali and Five Volcanoes Lodge at Volcanoes National Park, and all the logistics for the gorillas and golden monkeys treks. We always felt we were in good hands, all our questions were answered promptly, and every step on the itinerary was on schedule — and flexible when we needed it. Both hotels were excellent. All the staff at Heritage Safaris were efficient, responsive, and courteous. They ensured that our bucket list trip was truly memorable. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!Written June 18, 2023
- Getaway8269530 contributionsFULLY RECOMMEND THIS TRIPIt was a fantastic experience. Safati Tour in Africa is something that you must to do in your life. Heritage Safaris was very responsable, puntual and our guide Oliver is a very knowlegable man, who made our experiences amazing. He knew about all the species in the park, its wildlife. He expleined very well the kind of skin of the Hippo, its behivour, etc. He took us to the ways to try to finf Lyons and Leopard, unfortunately we could not seen them. However we saw, Bufalos, Hippo, Elephants, Zebras, antilopes, crocodriles, girafes, monkeys, lots of birds, African Fish Eagle, pumbas, etc...Written June 15, 2023
- H749WFrachelk0 contributionsGreat Easter Get-AwayMy friends and I had a thrilling 4 day adventure trip to Dubai, with Heritage Safaris. Their attention to detail and choice of activities was impeccable. The selection of activities will surely give you a full experience of Dubai; from the dhow cruise dinner on the Dubai marina, to the city tour, the desert safari, the Atlantis aqua venture waterpark activities, and the visit to the museum of the future made our trip a memorable one. We also had an amazing experience shopping in the malls and got to experience the Dubai Fountain Show at the Dubai mall. We did not have to worry about airport transfers, we were also picked and dropped to and from the planned activities. We cannot forget the amazing and professional tour guides who took us around and gave us the true Dubai experience. The choice of Hotel- the Copthorne Hotel was a good one and a walking distance from some of the big shopping malls around. The hotel staff were hospitable and very professional. All this to say, I would choose Heritage Safaris for my trips again and highly recommend them for an all rounded enjoyable traveling experience.Written April 14, 2023

- kevincB337HH0 contributionsAmazing Ziwa and Kabalega Tour!My wife and I did the Murchison (Kabalega) Falls 3 day tour, with a trip to Ziwa rhino sanctuary. It was fantastic. Our guide Danny was a joy. He was knowledgeable as well as responsive and attentive to our needs. We just enjoyed spending time with him, talking about the culture, politics, etc of Uganda and the world. Danny became a friend, not just a guide. He was able to arrange a last minute night drive, which was amazing. Danny went out of his way to see that we had a great experience, and if we are fortunate enough to go back, we would hope to have him as our guide again. This was the first wildlife tour we had done, and Hussain put us at ease through all the logistical discussions.Written February 13, 2023

- 255devendram0 contributionsThe Animal Kingdom in Rwanda and UgandaThe 10-day tour of Rwanda and Uganda provided us a trip of a lifetime which covered the Volcanoes National Park of Virunga(Rwanda) and the three national parks of Queen Elizabeth, Kibale and Murchison Falls in Uganda. The trip was brilliantly planned and executed without a single mishap. Swaib Muyaaeera was a very responsive and professional Guide Manager. The lodges where scenically located, provided superior class of facilities, and very good overall service. The accommodation was exemplary in terms of cleanliness and comfort. The driver Fred was exceptional because of his precision over the English language, knowledge of the parks and African affairs, extreme safe driving with concern for our convenience over the rugged roads, love of African and Blues music we liked, perfect punctuality throughout the trip, and a commitment to give us the ultimate experience we were looking for. He was of great assistance in fulfilling my photography interests. We enjoyed our conversation with him and found him extremely helpful and concerned for our welfare. I am more knowledgeable about the peoples of Rwanda and Uganda because of Fred. The game drives proved to be awesome. The daily schedule was well spell out, adequately described and completely adhere to. Among the 82 countries we have visited, this premier-priced trip was one of the best. I plan to utilize Heritage Safari again next year.Written November 18, 2022

Could not ask for a better organized, more thoughtful and engaging guide / your company.
Everything was so well organized from the preparations on what to bring (saving much angst) through to helping us get the kind of trek we wanted.
I cannot recommend them enough - just do it!

I hiked Bisoke Volcano, trekked to the Golden Monkeys, and canoed Mukunga River. I left at 4:30 am from Kigali on Saturday and returned on Sunday at 7:30 pm. A full weekend!
This is the beginning of the rainy season, so trail up to Bisoke Volcano was very muddy! Very, very muddy! Maybe the muddiest I have hiked and I have hiked around the world. Walking sticks and porters were indeed helpful. Good to have high hiking boots with gaiters or rubber boots. Those can actually be rented. Also good to have gloves to avoid the stinging nettles, which, believe me, really sting. Long pants, long sleeve good too, with something warm for top (10 F) and rain jacket and water. Hiking up is tough with elevation but hiking down is tougher with mud. Takes about 5-6 hours in total.
Five Volcanos did a great job cleaning up my very muddy shoes and socks after that trek while I enjoyed a delicious lunch.
I spent the night at La Locanda, which is the economy choice. This was a simple, lovely hotel, tastefully decorated, with excellent meals. Rooms are spartan but comfortable. The common area is warm and music-filled from a turntable playing La Vie en Rose.
Trek to Golden Monkeys was easy and really enjoyable. Easy hike in to the bamboo forest close to the edge of the park. Easy to find the group of 30+ golden monkeys feasting on bamboo shoots this time of year. The moms are having babies at this time of year so we got to see some little babies. The monkeys have been habituated to humans so it's really an intimate, peaceful experience. We spent about an hour quietly walking around and then departed. Great experience.
I spent a an hour or so then at the Ellen DeGeneres Annex of the Dian Fosse Museum, which was definitely worth the $20 donation. Very interesting, very informative, though I would check against the Wikipedia entry for Dian Fosse.
The canoe trip on the Mukunga River was a lot of fun and a great way to see a variety of birds and crops grown in the area. I was in one canoe and the guide in another. The river winds through the countryside with a decent, but not too fast current. There is a small class 1 rapids under the first bridge which was fun. There were also two short portages. Finally, a section of the river that the guide called "the bamboo experience" in which the river narrows, current speeds up slightly, and you have to navigate a bit more carefully, was definitely better than any Disney World ride :) The trip took about 2 hours or so. We got rained on but I didn't care since I was wearing my bathing suit and it wasn't really cold.
Finally, I of course need to say a few words about my guide and driver during the weekend. Mr. Tuma was safe driver and most excellent companion providing interesting bits about the area and letting me sleep when I needed to. He took good care of me for those 40 hours or so.
All in all, hats off to Heritage Safaris for a great weekend,
