A Wonderful Coffee experience - Must do activity if you are a coffee lover.
Signing up for this trip I wasn't sure what to expect. After all, 8 hrs is a lot of time, a whole day activity. Well, suffice it to say - it was a wonderful. My guides Tessy and Gisele met me at Question Coffee in Kigali. After a complementary coffee, I joined them and our driver on trek that would take me to visit not just a farm where coffee is grown, but also a coffee washing station where beans are washed and processed for shipment. At the farm and processing station I was greeted by the staff, primarily all women, who explained the entirely natural process they use to grow coffee in their collective. I learned a lot, and suffice it to say, appreciate that behind each bean is a lot of care and attention. Now, more than ever I'll make sure to purchase coffee that is as ethically grown and processed as I witnessed in Rwanda. Suffice it to say, a very memorable experience that I highly recommend to coffee lovers who visit Kigali and/or Rwanda.

      One of a kind!
The tour is one of a kind! It’s the only one to do if you appreciate good coffee. To understand what goes into a simple cup at home through this tour is awe-inspiring. The women led experience is top notch with tour guides that make it fun and engaging.

      Keziah is truly amazing!
Keziah is truly amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed my time learning from her about "honey" coffee and the diverse aromatics, scents, and flavors that make Rwandan coffee so dynamic. I feel incredibly privileged to support such an outstanding social enterprise that not only does good but also maintains a high standard for its products.

      Very Comfortable Cafe
Our time there was short, but the coffee we enjoyed sitting on the patio was excellent. A worthy enterprise in support of women entrepreneurs to be supported.

A beautiful snapshot into coffee life, cultivation and processing in Rwanda
We met our wonderful guide Patti at Question Coffee Cafe in Kigali where we were greeted with freshly brewed coffee and croissants. From there, we drove with our own car (although transport can be also organized by QC) to Kayonza city where we stopped to order lunch at the Women's Opportunity Centre. Then, we drove to the TUK Cooperative farm where we picked up Agnes, the cooperative's president. In this first stop, we were greeted by a group of lovely lady farmers who sang, danced and illustrated in detail the coffee cultivation process. Subsequently, we drove with Patti and Agnes to their washing station where we given an explanation of coffee processing as well as a tasting session. Finally, we drove back to Kayonza where we had a nice lunch. At the Opportunity Centre, there was also a souvenir shop with local handmade items. When we returned to Kigali, Question Coffee offered us a coffee gift and another delicious coffee! The whole experience was educational for coffee lovers but also very insightful in regard to the dedication and hard work of these proud Rwandan women. The drive itself is an experience, particularly the part from Kayonza to the coffee farm - you literally drive through innumerable banana plantations and pass by several small rural villages. We appreciated the human connection and we recommend this farm trek to anyone. Also well done to Question Coffee for organizing the activity in a professional and informative way!

Visit Rwanda and have a great coffee at Q’s store in Kigali. The perfect gift for home.
Stopped in the Kigali store on way to airport Wednesday 2/16 to pick up a few bags for gifts. Had one of the best cappuccino’s in my life at Question. Wish I had known about their Coffee Masterclass before our last day. Just one more reason to return to Rwanda. Incredibly friendly and warm staff at Q Coffee. Rwanda is fabulous-hospitable people who are glad you are visiting, spectacular nature and wildlife. Visit as soon as you can! Q Coffee is also available in Kigali Airport gift shops

A great experience tasting and learning
We loved our experience smelling, tasting, and learning about coffee! We also loved how it’s women-run and operated, and the staff was just lovely. The caramel affogato was heavenly ;-)

      A wonderful day trip
I am a huge coffee fan and this day trip helped me to learn a lot about the very long process that is required to fuel my mornings. The farm is about 2 hours outside Kigali, and I had a great conversation with the tour guide, Smayah, as we drove. She developed the tour and her story was inspiring. The coffee cherries are processed March through June, but I didn't feel like anything was missing for my visit in January. The tour includes a coffee or espresso before you leave and a 250g bag of beans when you finish (I bought more!) A great day, well worth the money.

This maseterclass was fantastic! Better than I expected. I should clarify, that this is not a good choice for someone who wants to see a farm or the actual process. This is a classroom setting learning the ins and outs about history, flavor derivation (region, roasting, processing, etc.) The word I have used over and over with my friends is, "Fascinating!". For my class, the instructor and I compared four different beans, their scent and aroma and the many aspects of flavor. So informative!

Amazing coffee experience! Lea and Frabrice were an absolute pleasure and I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rwanda. Even if you are not a coffee lover you should still book this experience as it is worth it! The coffee shop itself is also really beautiful and the entire staff was nice and welcoming! Thanks again!

This was one of the most-interesting things that I did in Kigali. My guide, Patrice (Patty), taught us so many interesting things about coffee. She even picked coffee cherries from a tree outside of the coffee shop and showed us the beans inside. We learned about the whole coffee process, from start to finish. I never realised how much human labor goes into producing the coffee that I drink every day! I also enjoyed the coffee tasting and loved that we each got some ground coffee (or coffee beans) to take home with us. Highly recommended for anyone with a few days in Kigali.

Patricia was the guide for our private group and she was so amazing. It was a really nice way to learn more about the coffee production process whilst supporting the female-driven initiative. Lastly, I really liked that we got to take a bag of our favourite coffee.

Question coffee is a game changer in coffee industry in Rwanda. As a Rwandan I had a chance to be part of coffee master class lead by Sumaya. This was one the best experience I have ever had in 2019. I was able to learn a lot on coffee making and tasting. The instructor was very friendly, experienced in coffee and really take her time to make sure that all the participants get the best experience. I will do this again and again.

As a ardent coffee drinker, a colleague recommended that I check this place out. And I must say, it never disappointed. Got to learn about the coffee value chain, the work that goes into ensuring quality to the tasting part. I really sucked at differentiating fragrance and smell amongst the various types of coffee.. But that's just me... You will totally love it here .
