We (8 ladies) spent an amazing 12 day tour from Windhoek to Victoria Falls this October. These 12 days were unforgattable for all of us. We have seen so many wild animals, the accommodations, programs were perfect. The guide Sammy is one of the best one, he is professional. While planning the tour Derek in the office was very friendly and did his best to give us the perfect service. We loved our tour and now planning to go back but only wiht BlueCrane Safaris.

BlueCrane safaris made our tailor-made intensive trip in Namibia amazing and unforgettable. We enjoyed the beautiful natural sceneries, the desert, the beach, the national park, etc. We saw lions eating, elephants crossing the river, and various kinds of birds flying around us. Danny, our tour guide + driver, was very kind, professional and helpful. He took care of every detail during the trip. He cleaned the vehicle every morning and was always very cautious while driving. He knew clearly where and when we could see the animals. Danny is the best safari driver I’ve ever met. I’ll definitely recommend BlueCrane Safaris to my friends.

As a frequent traveler, I was lucky to cover almost 40% of the globe. In the last 20+ year, I have interacted with many tour companies and Bluecrane Safaris became the TOP of my list. This is consistent with Bluecrane Safari's track record of almost all excellent reviews. My evaluation is based on destination, communication, cost efficiency, well-coordinated excursions, upscale accommodation, and overall service quality. Namibia is a beautiful country with varieties of colorful landscape (ocean, desert, mountain) and wildlife (dolphin, whale, flamingos, big 5, and more). Bluecrane Safari checks all these criteria with one extra, emergency handling. Additionally, their tour guides are very attentive to clients, try the best to accommodate reasonable requirements, and always talk professionally even if some might treat harshly. I definitely will return to Namibia with Bluecrane Safari. Bluecrane Safari hosted a 13-day Southern Africa tour for my group of Aug- Sep 2024. We had a great time until Sep 1, our day 2 in Namibia. One of our vehicles crashed and some got medium to significant injuries. During the long and intensive rescue process at a very remote site, we did observe that our tour guides are professionally trained to handle emergencies. Fortunately, we had brand new and solid-built safari vehicles. Otherwise, it would be much worse. The sad accident was no one's wish and hopefully no one will ever have to deal with this. However, accidents do happen. Remember travel insurance, tightening seat belt, front sitter be alert of road and driver's condition, practice basic crash self- protection procedures, and seek best medical facilities if emergency happens for future travel reference. Our lives and wellbeing are priceless.

I almost got killed by using Bluecrane Safari for my tour on September 1st 2024. On a perfectly sunny day, with no wind and no other car in sight, the Bluecrane Safari driver lost control of our vehicle while making a right turn. Our vehicle crashed through the fences and rolled down to the bottom of the hill(~ 300 feet). I, along with two other passengers sitting in the back seats, were thrown out of the car window onto the rocky grounds because there are no shoulder seat-belt in the back of the vehicle. We were taken to the hospital at Windhoek by ambulances. Fortunately, nobody died. Among the 5 passengers in the car, 3 suffered serious injuries including broken ribs and broken femur. I was incredibly lucky and only suffered minor head injuries. However, I continue to be traumatized by the horrifying event until today. After the accident, Blue Crane Safaris refused to pay any expenses including medical expenses, or lost & damaged items since according to their contract, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES they are responsible for any death, injuries or losses whatsoever. If there were any external factors that caused this tragic accident, for example, rainy day, strong wind or another at-fault vehicle, I would not blame Bluecrane Safari and will just move on. However, there were no other reasons for the accident except for the reckless driving behavior of the tour guide from Blue Crane Safaris Namibia. This is a horrible accident that shall not happen at all. People’s lives are priceless, Bluecrane Safari shall be avoided at all cost!!!

When we decided to visit Namibia we started reading up on tour operators Blue Crane Safaris had such good reviews we decided to email them with an idea of where we wanted to go/see/do and asked if they could provide an itinerary. Derek Jacobs the owner replied very quickly and that was the start of a 10 month communication when we decided to book a self drive tour with them. Nothing was too much trouble and any emails were replied to promptly. When we arrived in Windhoek we were picked up by a company representative and taken to their offices to pick up our car and go over the itinerary. Jamie did the handover which was very in-depth and she gave us all the relevant information we needed as well as a WhatsApp contact number. Some of the accommodation on tour was suggested by Blue Crane and some we chose ourselves, it was a good mix. We had an absolutely fantastic holiday it couldn’t have been better, everything went like clockwork thanks to Blue Crane. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better to we were upgraded to the Bush Camp at Okonjima on our last three nights which was a fantastic surprise, it was amazing. It was really nice to meet Derek when we handed the car back at the end of our holiday. The personal service provided by the Blue Crane Safaris team is second to none and we highly recommend them.

My husband and I took a 13 day safari in Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. It was absolutely wonderful. Bluecrane Safaris took care of all the details, so all we had to do was enjoy the trip. Our guide, John, was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and fun to be with. The places we stayed were terrific, and best of all, we saw so many wonderful animals. Bluecrane was great in all aspects of my two weeks in Namibia - Markus my guide was outstanding, the hotels, perfect, great food and an exceptional visit to Etosha National Park - actually saw two sets of lions and a set of leopards mating, black rhinos, an aardvark and more. I have been to over 150 countries and this was one of my best trips!

Blue Crane‘s speciality is not budget vacations, especially when it‘s about private guided tours with upscale lodges. However, when we compared their offer with others, the price was just slightly higher but included more items than the friendly competitors, such as meals, entry fees and activities. We have never regretted our choice. Derek did a great job perfectly organizing our safari, incorporating our special requests and promptly answering our questions. Looking back, the tour was well balanced between activities and possibilities to stretch our legs. The lodges varied greatly in style and price level, but all of them were carefully chosen, providing a valuable addition to the overall experience. Frank was our perfect tour guide. He was always anticipating our needs and got things going. His experience is a very valuable asset. Frank knows where and when animals can be seen, what forms and procedures are required at checkpoints and borders, where every pothole is between Windhoek and Vic Falls. I am so happy to enthusiastically recommend Blue Crane Safaris! From our initial emails with Derek, who helped us plan the perfect tour for our group of 5, to the trip itself, with our amazing guide Me-Gusto, the folks at Blue Crane went above and beyond to make this a remarkable visit. I'm a travel writer, and have traveled extensively around the world—this was absolutely a first-class experience. Me-Gusto was wonderful company, and taught us about Namibia's natural history, wildlife, botany, culture, history, and geology. He got us to the right place at the right time for amazing photos, and took into account the individual interests and abilities of everyone in our group.

My experience on this trip echoes Kevin and Tina's review of last month, April 2024. We were a group of 4, a couple and two singles so lots of space in the car. Frank was our super guide. It's a brilliant mix of culture and wildlife with stunning landscapes and unforgettable moments - being surrounded by wild horses, looking down on the desert elephants, climbing Dune 45, imagining life in Kolmanskop, sunrises and sunsets........ so many moments. If you want to see Namibia, you'd be hard pushed to find a tour that's better than this one. Excellent value for money and memories.

Blue Crane Tours is an excellent tour operator with a professional, attentive and experienced team. I went on the 15 day Namibian Highlights tour - everything went very smoothly. Jamie in the front office promptly answered my queries as I booked the tour and Frank our tour guide was very knowledgeable and attentive to the group. There is a lot of time in the car but there are frequent activities and a diverse landscape to keep you entertained.

We chose the 15-day Safari which gave a good balance between culture, history and nature. We discovered that Namibia is very varied, even the climate - we travelled from the cooler, even foggy climate of the coast (in April) to baking temperatures in Damaraland. Taking this trip, bear in mind that there will be a lot of driving, but even the long road journeys were interesting. Our guide/driver Markus was very informative and looked after us well. When we were planning the trip, Derek in the office communicated with us promply and effectively. Blue Crane Safaris are not cheap, but we feel our money was well spent. Accommodation was upmarket. Food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. At the coast, try the oysters! We have always lived near the sea, but never had so much good seafood. Inland we were able to try a variety of game meats. We felt really spoilt on this trip.

Derek was in constant communication with us from the first day of our trip up until we met up with our tour guide Marcus(Marco). Marco was an exceptional guide and host. He made sure we had everything we needed during our 6 Day 5 night excursion. I really appreciated his attention to detail throughout the trip by making us feel extremely comfortable and not wanting for nothing. His knowledge of each area we passed by along our routes to the Namib desert and all the way to Etosha was amazing!! I greatly appreciate the extreme patience and exceptional customer service. If there was something wrong with the rooms he ensured we had a new room, he ensured the waiters at each location we stopped at took great care of us. Marco noticed things we did not and took care of it smoothly. If you are looking for a company to tour with sifting your stay in Namibia BlueCrane Safari is a definite!
