It was my first time playing with the wind. In just a few days, I was able to stand up and do some ride stuff with JN's advice. Mauritius is a great place for kitesurfing and the instructors Nico and Kevin did a splendid job getting us on the boards. It was always very good fun with them and they had a broad selection of gear so we always had the optimal sizes of kites available. The lagoon on the east side of the Le Morne Brabant pensisula has a huge standing areas and at this time of the year gets a very steady trade wind from south east. Still we saw the one or other day with 3 btf or less and then it doesn't make much sense to be on the water. The kiteschool is flexible, so based on your reservation you compare the forecast with the real wind in the morning with them and finalize the game plan over the phone or Whatsapp. The south west of Mauritius offers a lot of different sites and beaches, for my taste it is the best area on the island. In case you don't kite you still have plenty of other things you can (and should) do. I found the temperatures in June very pleasant with ~28°C (air) and ~24°C (water) and only some little rain showers at the coast. It is a bit like a bath tub and still you don't get flambeed on the water by too much sun. This makes is an ideal spot with a very good kiteschool for starters like us. If you are advanced you can always move out towards the reef and catch more wind and waves.Written July 28, 2019

Rental of kite is very good value. The two instructors are very helpful and are always trying to share their knowledge. Good vibes, i highly recommend the school to people that want to learn or simply rent equipment.

I’ve always wanted to try kitesurfing and finally gave it a go. Have had an amazing time learning to kitesurf with Nico and his team, it’s been great fun. They are very experienced, knowledgeable, patient and overall greate teachers. Importaly they have been rigorous with the safety aspect of kitesurfing. Even gave me a great deal for the kiting equipment. Every time I had a lesson I had to drive for like 2 hours to get to Le mourne, but it really worth it!

Great kite lessons - communication via WhatsApp was great and I was able to get an appointment at short notice. Price/performance ratio is top notch. I booked two-hour kite lessons on three days. I was able to learn with Darryl. My level wasn't good at the beginning, I had already had 20-30 lessons and was level 3, but I couldn't really ride. After the 6 lessons I could steer safely, ride slowly and quickly and up and down wind was no longer a problem. I would book there again at any time. I'm very sad that I wasn't able to learn with him for longer. Thank you very much Darryl.

We had a great time at Kite Lagoon Vibes. Nico and his friend James are really great. They are perfect instructors, engaged and give very good explanations and insight. Material is in good condition. Good value for money. Nico and James will tell you when you are independent and then just rent you material so you can further practice on your own but even then they provide guidance and help as needed. Would highly reommend this school to everyone
