About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jose G0 contributionsGreat Cape Coast Castle tour from TakoradiHighly recommend Kweku and would take any other tour with him. We arrived in a cruise ship so returning on time was critical. Other tours were late but Kweku and driver Steven got us back 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled time -despite traffic, rough roads and a 2 hour drive back. And the tour to Cape Coast Castle was amazing. Kweku gave excellent, interesting historical and current insights into Ghana. He even got us a sampling of local treats. Our group of 5 are all very happy!Written June 6, 2024
- tyishae20180 contributionsCape coast, assin Manso, makola market and museumI would like to say Issac took good care of me as a solo traveler from accra to Cape coast to assin Manso. We did stable over 6 hrs of traffic which was tough but he assured safety and made sure I was comfortable at all times... U.S travelerWritten May 15, 2024
- wendyruns20100 contributionsGreat day of history and culture! My guide Kweko was exceptional. Very patient as I asked a time of wording about history and place. He took me to all the shops in the market and even gave me a lesson on how to bargain and specific items. I highly recommend the tour to learn more about Accra history, culture and people!Written April 30, 2024
- TRBtravels0 contributionsExcellent Tours! What a great experience! I decided to book several last minute tours during my last week in Ghana. I am so happy I booked with Nyonkopa Eco Tours. The first tour I booked was the bead making tour. I was picked on time by my tour guide Issac. He has a wonderful personality, very outgoing, personable and knowledgeable. My day was spent learning about the bead making process and I even made my own beads and met the owner who was extremely talented and very nice. The bead facility is very beautiful, well kept and serene. I also booked a day tour to Ada Foah and visited Nkyinkyim Museum and did an Island tour. Both were amazing and again Issac did not disappoint. I highly recommend this company, they have excellent customer service are on time, knowledgeable and have excellent tour guides. I was traveling solo and felt right at home. Thanks for providing a wonderful experience.Written March 21, 2024
- stephaniesC9026HX0 contributionsGreat two day trip with wonderful guideI have had two great days with Nyonkopa Eco Tours and especially with my guide Isaac. I felt very comfortable and safe all the way. It was like discovering a new place with new friends - and I am very grateful for that. Thanks Nyonkopa Eco Tours, thanks Isaac!Written February 25, 2024
- Trina B0 contributionsPleased with that tour with MichaelMichael was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and helpful. He was knowledgeable about the areas and sites we toured. Went above and beyond.Written December 6, 2023
- gmam19880 contributionsMust do experience that you will not forgetI completed the canopy walk at Kakum National Park, and I visited Elmina Castle and Cape Coast Castle with Isaac as a tour guide. Everything was easy and straightforward from booking the trip until the end of the day. The company confirmed pick up time and place, and Isaac picked me up from my hotel and dropped me off there at the end of the day. Right away I felt comfortable with Isaac. He was kind, accommodating and very knowledgeable about the local areas and the attractions. Any questions I had, Isaac had answers. He made sure that if I needed anything he would be able to take care of it. Isaac encouraged me to do the full canopy walk and kindly took photos for me, which I am very glad to have. Isaac took care of all the fees for the park and the castles - which came with their own local guides - and he accompanied me through everything. Isaac's timing was perfect as we arrived at Kakum before it was very hot outside, and we got to the castles before bigger tour groups and could see them without having to wait for a big group. He was patient with me and looked after me very well. I would highly recommend booking this tour.Written December 3, 2023
- 545sarahg0 contributionsGreat ExperienceI did a fabulous half-day fantasy coffin tour with Kweku with a friend. Kweku was a great guide and went out of his way to make sure that the trip was as good as possible. Before the tour, he communicated over WhatsApp and was very responsive to any queries we had. We visited the original fantasy coffin workshop and Kweku made sure that we got as much as possible out of the visit, prompting when there were extra things about the coffins that would be interesting to know and making sure we saw everything. We then went to the Artists Alliance Gallery which was a great place both to look at Ghanian artworks and crafts and also to buy a few souvenirs (without having to barter as everything had clear price tags!). The trip finished with a walk along the beach. Kweku also made a point of pointing out other sights in Accra along the way so it felt like we got two tours for the price of one! He added little extras like buying us his favourite street food and dropping us off a good restaurant for fufu at the end of the trip. In addition to this, he was like our own personal photographer/videographer for the day so we got lots of pics and videos to remember the trip by! Very highly recommended!Written August 23, 2023
- daneep20140 contributionsExcellent group!Communication was great seeing as I booked very last minute. Our guide Isaac was so helpful, considerate, and knowledgeable that we booked a second tour with them the next day! The Kakum rainforest is a must see when in coastal Ghana and for Black Americans, especially, the castles are important history.Written June 16, 2023
- Vacation647602179530 contributionsAwesome and AuthenticNyonkopa guided me during my whole 3 week stay in Ghana. They took good care of me! As a solo woman traveler, safety is a priority! I felt very safe and welcome. Nyonkopa also provided me authentic cultural experiences. I really recommend it!Written April 21, 2023
- rosaeA8462EE0 contributionsHighly recommend a 4 day customized trip with guide Kweku!I can higly recommend to take a trip with Nyonkopa. Our guide Kweku was flexible and creative in creating a 4 day tour based on our interests. Further more he was super friendly and made sure he provided us with the best time. Together with my (elderly parents) we visited some nature sites and cultural heritage sites. If we wanted to stop along the way to buy fruits or take pictures it was no problem at all. The communication and payment went smooth and fast. He is used to working with American and European tourists and understands their cultural background. Absolutely good value for your money. Would take a tour with him again without a doubt!Written April 2, 2023
- Meander151768635140 contributionsHighly Recommended!!!We highly recommend this tour! We were able to see a significant portion of history and sightseeing. Issac was very accommodating and full of knowledge.. and I asked him a million questions. My favorite part was seeing the Makola Market from above .. that was an amazing experience as well as the history. Thx you Isaac for your hospitality and sharing tour knowledge!Written March 1, 2023

- rhiank1290 contributionsA perfect dayThis was such a perfect experience. Organisation beforehand was seamless, I had already done some of the suggested activities so Kweku made me a fully customised itinerary based on my interests. He arrived on the day bright and early and full of infectious enthusiasm, and everything was just so smooth and wonderful. Kweku was very patient and always made sure I had everything I needed, and arranged some activities that I had wanted to do but can be complicated to organise. I also really loved talking to Kweku about his work and how he is so committed to supporting local communities. A beautiful day made better by Kweku's care and professionalism, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to everyone coming to Accra. If you're thinking about booking, don't hesitate, the experience won't disappoint.Written January 22, 2023

I did the Boti Waterfalls Tour and the Shai Hills Reserve Day Tour with Isaac. I can not recommend both tours highly enough! I am a solo female traveller and my guide Isaac made me feel safe and welcome the entire time. Not only was he very patient, attentive, outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable- he also went out of his way to make me experience ghanian way of life (e.g. stopping by the side of the road for me to taste local baked goods). Apart from Isaac, I also loved visiting the various stops. I will never forget my visit to the Mogo Hill, the Aburi Botanical Gardens or the Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm, where I learned a lot from the various guides. Thanks a lot again for these two memorable days!

Our tour was amazing! First to the botanical garden where we took so many pictures and the guide was so knowledgeable then we were off to the cocoa farm. Both were amazing but NOTHING can compare to the Boti Falls!
I was afraid of the steps but I was able to concur them down and back up!
The falls were peaceful and beautiful and simply amazing!
My husband and I took so many pictures for memories of Ghana!
So happy we booked this tour and Michael was awesome! He stopped and got us local snacks, water and fruit on the way home!
Overall we would give this a 10 rating!!!!!

We really enjoyed the outing. Kweku, our tour guide, greeted us with a big smile and friendliness. He was personable, knowledgeable, and willing to answer our questions. I loved experiencing the Boti Falls. We were offered a canoe ride, but I preferred to enjoy it from the beach area. The Umbrelle Rock excited me, and the pics made my husband and I adventurous! Kweku did a good job of explaining each of the points of interest as well as how much exertion would be needed. For example, to get to the waterfalls, Kweku told us there would be 250 steps down and back up. The roads are very, very rough for much of the travel. However, the driver maneuvered like a professional! Highly recommended!

Fantastic itinerary, great transport as well (bumpy roads but brilliant driver and comfy van). Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and took our ages into account in refining the tour, such as the best option for accessing Umbrella Rock. The guides at the sites were informative as well, a great day out from Accra!

This tour was amazing! I was a little skeptical at first because there weren't many reviews, but decided to take a chance because it was the only one to include all of the stops my group wanted to make (gardens, cocoa farm, boti falls), and I'm so glad we did! The communication from the travel company was excellent, and our tour guide Issac was incredibly kind and helpful on the journey. We had a fantastic time and learned so much about Ghana. If you're considering visiting any of these sites, I highly recommend this company!

Travel to Boti Waterfalls was an added bonus experience. We traveled through a plethora of regions where the landscape transposed from throngs of people to near desolate with cascading colors.
Boti was refreshing! Once you descended down the 250 steps to reach the bottom it's like the whole world opened up. It was breath taking. You must do the canoe ride and if possible jump into the water.
Aburi Botanical Gardens was very educational. I come with limited knowledge of trees, plants and the eco system. The learning was relevant. I have a greater appreciation for where spices come from, how God's green earth truly does meet our needs, Martin, the botanist did a superb job. The hollowed tree is a gem.
Cocoa Farm, yes! I love dark chocolate. What was most remarkable is cocoa in its natural state prior to being sent to the market.
Overall, I appreciate the combination of the three experiences. My tour guide, Isaac, definitely enhanced the experience as he provided commentary all along the way. Your education begins as soon as your your journey starts. An added bonus, Isaac is personable and an awesome photographer as well as videographer.

Isaac was our tour guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable and just emitted positive energy. He was simply amazing. The tour started with the Aburi botanical garden. The peace of mind that place provided was great. There was a great many of lessons taught concerning the plants and trees we use daily. The tree of life is phenomenal you have to see the story it tells. The hollow tree is a must see. The cocoa farm was educational. It was good to see how we get out chochote and other products. The Boti Waterfalls was absolutely breathtaking. Be prepared to get some exercise. Make sure you bring something to drink and wear some comfortable shoes. Isaac have a hidden talent in photography. His ability to capture the scenery is awesome. It was a great trip. I highly recommend their services.

Travelling to Ada was on my wish list as the end of my journey was getting closer.
When we arrived in Ada we took a short boattrip to Maranatha beach camp.Being there felt very relaxt and later on we enjoyed a nicely prepared meal. After that we went and joined the other visitors at the bonfire while listening to reggea music. All in all a very pleasant ending of my journey with Nyonkopa Eco Tours.!!

A truly wonderful, comfortable, safe way to see these amazing sites. It wasn't clear to me at first that this tour would be just me in a private car (I presume that a small group would travel together, but I was solo), but that made it even better. Michael was an excellent tour guide: polite, practiced, and fun. The drive itself is a useful way to get a sense of Ghana outside of Accra, and the sites you visit range from interesting to stunning. Highly recommend.

This tour was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide Kweku was wonderful. He was very informative, kind and he made sure we were comfortable the entire tour. The views at the umbrella rock were absolutely breathtaking. The cocoa farm was extremely informative and you actually get an opportunity to taste the cocoa. Experiencing the waterfalls was an indescribable experience that you must experience for yourself if you visit Ghana. When you Ghana you must book this tour, you will not be disappointed.
