- whynotgroovee0 contributionsMy 40th Birthday - A Dream Come TrueI've have been waiting my whole life to make it to the Motherland and I could not have had a better escort. The Freelancenana Travel teams was flat out phenomenal. If you are looking for service, fun, history, excitement, knowledge, culture, good food, class and most important, love then look no further. I came with a group so we did a customized private group tour of Accra and the Cape Coast. We were only there 6 days but gained a lifetime of memories. I don't want to spoil all of the fun and surprises but if you can imagine it, we did it! I don't have enough kind words to say about the Freelancenana Travel team so i'll just say THANK YOU! Do yourself a favor and book with NANA, tell them "the Groove" sent you and he'll take it from there!Written August 31, 2024
- Voyager080725423910 contributionsFirst TimerNana and his team were excellent! They made my first experience in Ghana one for the books and an experience I will never forget. I would 1000% recommend them to anyone and would use them in my future trip to Ghana. Medaase!Written August 20, 2024
- jovitav6250 contributionsBest time of my life!Nana and his team were amazing! I knew that I was going to love coming to Ghana, to be engulfed in my culture, values, and traditions that I didn’t know existed. Everyone was so respectful and treated us like royalty! Nana and his team are my new family members and respect them immensely! The entire trip was well done and we had so much fun 🤩 I can’t wait to come back soon (hopefully in December) to see more things I hadn’t seen while I was there. Thank you so much Nana and Freelance Travels! See ya’ll soon 🩷🇬🇭Written August 11, 2024
- lbirks900 contributionsGreat Personal TourI booked this tour the night before, so I appreciate their availability to provide me a tour. Given that it was only me, they adjust the tour to be the Elmina Slave Dungeon and a tour of Elmina. Both tour guides were very knowledgeable of the community's history. I greatly appreciated this cultural tour.Written July 8, 2024
- Wanderer630421847060 contributionsMust doExcellent walking tour with of the park Elmina township, highlighting it’s unique history, culture and architecture. Very knowledgeable tour guide. The tour of the castle was excellent as well.Written June 26, 2024
- Happiness350761104580 contributionsNot worth it!It's not worth the money! Short and low zip it would've been fun if u could've gone more than once. It was short and not that high. Also they have nothing to stop you so I had to put my hand out to stop my face from hitting the cement wall, but my feet were not so lucky they slammed into the wall! It hurt really bad all they said was sorry! Never again! I came to celebrate my birthday.Written March 14, 2024
- donnat5170 contributionsWonderful educational and exciting!!!I really enjoyed this experience! I think Nana has a wonderful itinerary and every day is filled with a great experience! The food was spectacular and learning about the history of my ancestors was priceless. Prior to going on this trip there was so much that I did not know or understand! This trip was educational, exciting and exhilarating. If you get the chance….. gooooooooooo!!!!!!!Written January 8, 2024
- Sophia P0 contributionsGhana and Freelance Nana Travels are a match made in heaven🇬🇭Nana Preston and his team are the epitome of professional tour guides. I’ve visited a number of countries over the years, met a lot of wonderful people but none more welcoming and accommodating and professional as Freelance Nana Travels. We had an amazing adventure throughout Ghana visiting the historical and cultural sites but they also went the extra mile with our nightlife activities. They were even accommodating when we had difficulty making our way to the next excursion because of our lack of sleep. They were ready and prepared for the unforeseen and handled each situation with consideration for our comfort and pleasure. I highly recommend Freelance Nana Travels for all your West African travel needs. So much so that we will venture with him and his team to South Africa later this year. We also intend on bringing another group to Ghana to experience the hospitality that is unmatched. Do yourself a favor and join a incoming scheduled tour or allow them to customize your own Ghana adventure, you will be glad you did.Written January 8, 2024

- nikiaf20200 contributionsBEST TRIP I’VE TAKEN SO FARI actually spent 9-19-23 to 10-3-23 with these amazing people and I am still raving about my experience!!! My guides were knowledgeable kind great guys that really made sure I enjoyed each day I spent there. From the private cooking lessons to group activities everything was prepared and planned with the experience I wanted in mind. Nana, Prince, Sisco & their team made sure I not only was immersed into the culture of Ghana but also the nightlife and beautiful spots you can’t see anywhere else in the world! When you travel with Freelancenana you become family and they definitely treat you as such. They’re a top notch company that can work with anyone to make the experience unforgettably unique. On a budget no problem they’ll to everything in their power to make the trip enjoyable and to your specifications. When I go back next year I’ll definitely be booking with them. - nadetoro0 contributionsAccra thru the eyes of a local…Nana and Prince made sure our overall stay in Accra was fantastic. They went above and beyond and showed us Accra from the eyes of a local. I highly recommend booking with Nana for a tailored tour of the city.Written October 19, 2023
- anavZ8274YS0 contributionsA magical experience in the most beautiful region of Ghana! It only gets BETTER the more you travel with Nana! This was my second time traveling with him. Given the incredible experience I had with him and a friend at Elmina's Bakatue Festival, I decided to contact him for a 4-day hiking and camping trip in the Volta and Eastern Regions of Ghana. And even invited a friend along who hadn't previously met Nana. Well, where to start? It is hard to capture the incredible 4 days we all had together and what we experienced. For starters, Nana's kindness and way of going above and beyond for the trip was visible from the beginning. The trip started as an idea my friend Nick and I had, and Nana was doing everything to bring it to life. He provided the tents and sleeping bags, the pots and pans for cooking, he even got some board games for the evenings at the camping site! It was incredible. Now to the best part: the actual trip. The road trip was not only SO much fun, but it truly felt like I was traveling with family. Nana's ability to have conversations, and make you feel comfortable leads to feeling so at ease and able to truly be present enough to enjoy the actual experience you are about to have. He really makes you feel like everything will work out, he has incredible knowledge of the routes and knows pretty much everyone in these areas (I call him the Mayor of Ghana). A noticeable aspect of the trip is that every single person we encountered was happy to see Nana. Further emphasizing that he not only crafts these incredible experiences for others, but that also does it in a way that helps support other local guides, businesses, and people in Ghana, which I think is a beautiful thing and says a lot about Nana's heart. We hiked every day and experienced unforgettable views, and incredible adventures from the monkeys in the sanctuary, the Wli Walls, and the other 3 hikes we did around this trip. Nana truly fit in everything we wanted to do and did not disappoint. Towards the end, we spent a night in the Eastern Region and did kayaking as well as a speedboat tour. Both are incredibly worth it! (If you want to see more images and experiences about it head to Nana's Instagram!). Nana's ability to be flexible while maintaining professionalism, providing us with the adventures we were seeking and welcoming us with open arms makes for such an unforgettable time. I think this might've been the best trip of my life. And I don't say this lightly. I'm just incredibly thankful I got to see Nana again and travel together to explore such a gorgeous region (Oh yeah please look up pictures this region is BEAUTIFUL) . Don't overthink booking this trip with Nana - it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. The fact that I came back for a second trip with him should be testimony enough of why you should go on your first! THANK YOU NANA <3Written August 23, 2023
- Passenger388815619690 contributionsAn absolutely magical experience! As a traveller that usually prefers to have everything in his control, I was a little skeptical of the tour in the beginning to be honest. But I decided to trust my friend who had booked a tour with Nana before and was very happy with it. Right before the trip, communication was very smooth and Nana designed the itinerary completely in line with our wishes and preferences. It doesn’t have to be the itinerary that is given here at TripAdvisor - for example, the three of us did a four-day hiking/camping trip to the Volta/Eastern Region. The trip itself, I don’t know how to put into words. Nana is the best travel guide I’ve had so far in my life - not limited to Ghana - such an easy-going, generous and fun person. Right from the beginning, it felt like we’ve known each other for ages, not a sign of restraint that I usually like to maintain. We started off with a hike to the Wli Waterfalls where we already had the best time. After a fun night including cooking with a camp stove, we started the next day with two hikes: to an incredible viewpoint at first, to Mount Afadjato in the afternoon. The following two days we went for another hike, a speed boat trip as well as a kayak trip on the Volta Lake. The time in between (driving, eating, resting, whatever) that you wouldn’t consider special at all deserves extra credit. I’ve never had so much fun for example during drives - be ready for some great music and dancing! Nana’s positive attitude during this whole trip was truly infectious!! Back to my concerns from the beginning: they were completely unwarranted. On our own, without a guide like Nana who knows basically every activity, every person and every hidden gem in this region, we wouldn’t have been able to get this unique experience. Thank you for everything Nana, we‘ll surely be back for another tour!! 🙏🏻Written August 21, 2023

I was introduced to this company initially on a tour to Boti Falls and I felt so comfortable with Nana that I booked this experience as well!
I honestly cannot describe how this entire experience made me feel. As a black American searching for her ancestry, I couldn’t have had a more eye opening/spiritual experience with anyone else!
I talked to chief(Nana), a beautiful 97yr old elder, prepared and ate a local Ghanaian dish, learned about the captivity, torture and selling of my ancestors and I even got baptized in the same water they were bathed in before being sold off.
I mean, there was so much that happened in this tour that I’m still processing it. They took AMAZING videos and pictures of the entire experience for me to cherish forever. I am forever grateful for this experience ❤️
