    Great tour!!!
I so enjoyed the full day with Stellar tours. He knew so much about Ghana history. We went to the bead market, checked out the three palm trees, walked 250 steps down to see the twim boti waterfalls (which we had to walk back up...😐I have to get back in the gym😬) sat under the umbrella stone for a spell while sipping on some refreshing palm wine (I could have taken a nap). Great experience and I would definitely recommend Stellar tours😉

    SHOPPERS DELIGHT!!!!!
This excursion was taken on Dec. 3, 2019. We booked Stellar Tours for all of our paid excursions and was quite pleased with their service. My wife and I were travelers from the state of Maryland; and it was more of a sightseeing adventure, rather than a big purchase one. After all you can only carry so much back on the plane. This tour gives you a great sense of how Ghanians shop. The Makola Market was truly fascinating. Our driver Kelvin helped us to maneuver the in and outs of the market, as well as take us to more private shopping options. Whether local or foreign, this was truly an adventure and worth the cost of the tour. Just do your best to better your bargaining skills. We were picked up from our hotel on time; and the vehicle for transport was very comfortable. You can't go wrong with this service.

A Must for Any Historical and Cultural Travelers!!!!!!
(Apologies to this tour service for this delayed review; we were getting through the holiday season) The Review: Again, Stellar tours are the best; Also, our driver and guide Kelvin is second only to the Pope, who really loves what he does. We traveled to Ghana to explore and see first hand the places and conditions for which our ancestors left. Let me say that touring the Jamestown area and fort was sobering. Many here live in the same ways that they did hundreds of years ago; But the reason, that this tour is so special, is that you are actually placed under the tutelage of those who live in the area. This was so invaluable. We did this tour on December 2; we visited the slave fort, the slave trading house; the surrounding village to experience the culture of the area, which is different from life in the Marriott Hotel. Most important is that, on this tour, we felt we were thrust into the pages of a National Geographic magazine. This tour is worth every dime; please take water with you, you are walking a long time in extreme heat. Also, be prepared to offer a tip to the locals who are helpful along the way, as a nice courtesy it's not mandatory. At the end of the day, tour was the most impactful to the point of overwhelming as to taking in all of the sights, sounds, and smells. Thank you Stellar tours for this wonderful experience. We went to Ghana to honor the past of our slave ancestors; thanks to you for helping us in that endeavor. The Jernigans - Severna Park, MD. USA.

Forget the others: THIS IS THE RIGHT ACCRA TOUR!!!!!
(First let me apologize for the delay in this review; we visited on Dec. 1, 2019; the recovery from the Accra excursion and the Christmas holiday season took its toll;) The Review: This tour was simply terrific. As an African-American couple seeking to learn of our African roots, this was simply educational. I taught African history during my tenure as an American educator; so many of the facts that were given, I had some familiarity. However, there was a plethora of cultural and historical information that was invaluable for this trip to Accra. Our tour guide and driver, Kelvin, was absolutely exceptional in explaining all the stopping points and the cultural facts related to the tour. Transportation; The vehicle was clean and comfortable for anyone who is not use to the extreme heat of Africa. We left winter conditions in Maryland in the USA. We were impressed with Kelvin's ability to maneuver the frantic traffic of Accra. No outsider should attempt to drive there. This is the service that you should book. The vehicle picked us up on time; and please never forget your bottled water from the hotel; we didn't trouble Kelvin for water but that's our fault we should requested a bottled water stop. We also appreciated Kelvin's assistance in obtaining the local currency and helping us to make sure we understood some of the valuations. The overall review, of the various sections of the City, its museums, and the important stops was invaluable. The time spent at each venue was appropriate. For any first time or multiple visitor to Accra, you should book this tour first. It is worth every dime. To Kelvin's superiors: Please triple his salary, he deserves it!!!!!

    PERFECT AFTER A LONG FLIGHT!!!!!
{First let me say Kudos to Kelvin; I have waited to do this review because I needed to recuperate from the long journey via London from the states to Accra.} This service is pricey especially in that the trip from the Airport to the hotel was about 2 miles at best. However, if you have endured a 15 hour flight plus a cumbersome customs processing , this service was worth every dime; my recommendation here is for airport pick up services to your hotel; After an exhaustive trip, when we came out of the airport terminal and there the sign with my name on it; that was a welcomed relief. Kelvin our driver was so friendly and welcoming. The vehicle was clean. He gave us needed information for getting our adventurous excursion started. I had experienced Stellar tours in Chile; and when I booked them I figured that I could not go wrong. If you are not worrying about all transportation costs; I do believed you will get excellent service with this tour provider; Thanks for making the start of our tour of Accra, Ghana trouble free. great tour of accra
Kevin was the guide and he was absolutely wonderful, he brought my parents to off the beaten track places, to markets, art galleries, artisans, and to visit a school that specializes in taking children off the road and giving them an education, and was happy to adjust the itinerary to suit their preferences. They had a beautiful day. So he would deserve 5 stars. Yet, the price is very high, too high even, and I have heard you can find similar tours for much cheaper. I booked it because I was looking a bit last minute and happily my parents were very happy, so it worked well, but with more time, I'd recommend to explore other options too.

    Great adventure
This trip consists of three main points: 1. hiking to the top of Afadjato Mountain (great view) - the climb quite steep (45 min to the top if you are in good shape, or over an hour if you are not), at least tennis shoes are recommended (the guide has only flip-flops) - take some water and some hiking snacks - luckily, shade from the jungle protects you from the sun; coming down is much easier - in case of rain the path gets slippery - animals seen: 1 squirrel, 1 green monkey, pair of bats (on the top), couple of butterflies, ants, millipeds, other bugs 2. short hike to Wli waterfalls (lower part) - there is a hiking trail to the upper waterfall, not a part of this trip (takes 2-3 hours, so it is a separate day trip) - very easy path, interesting though, crosses the creek that flows from the waterfall many times - BTW, you will cross over to Togo many times on this path, no border signs, no border control (and no visa requirements) :-) - the walk is 15-20 minutes in each direction, possible stay at the waterfall/lake, swimming possible - on exit be sure to buy bananas to bribe the monkeys on the next stop 3. Play with monkeys at the Tafi-Atome Monkey sanctuary - quite close in a nearby village; chief of monkey family climbs on your hand and calmly east banana from your hand - after he cannot eat more, females from his group also jump to your hand to take the banana; they are not so gentle because they are affraid, so in haste they might unintentionally scratch you - nice walk through part of the jungle close to the entrance, possibility to see other monkey groups The only problem with this trip is the transportation infrastructure. To call them roads would be an overstatement. In case you wonder if you have kidney stone, take this trip - if you do have them, this is when they will fall out. If you do not, at least you will be sure. Try to demand a better car, emphasis on suspension system and comfortable seats.

    Phenomenal experience
I was blown away by the authenticity of this tour. I’ve taken cooking classes in my travels around the world and let me just say, this was the best. I felt welcomed and it was personal. I was taken to the busy market and felt what locals do everyday. We cooked in a real home and ate at the table like you should when experiencing any cooking experience. I now know how to make jollof rice and light soup and rice balls and more, the right way! The patience and the conversations that we had were amazing to top it off! If you want to really see Ghana culture and experience it, please book this tour and you won’t be disappointed. It was the highlight of my trip! If you’re solo, it’s even better!

3 day Ashanti tour where we learn about the culture of the Ashanti and see many interresting sites.
Starting Monday 22 me and my father took the 3 day Ashanti tour. I personally had no expectation of the trip as this was more for my father who has always had a dream of visiting Africa. The day before the trip I called to double check that everything was still on. The tour-guide was extremely friendly and flexible. He agreed to my request to start the trip at 07:00 rather than 6:00. When our tour started it became clear that my elderly father would be unable to participate in some of the activities, but our tour-guide was extremely accommodating and offered to adapt the trip to our needs. As described on the site we headed to Kumasi in an airconditioned and ample van and stopped at Manhiya Palace, The art Centre, The Prempeh Museum and the Okomfo Anokye sword site. With all these stops you learn more about the Ashanti as a people and as a kingdom. Our guide prepared us in the bus by explaining some of what we were about to see. Where my father was unable to travel or participate, our tour-guide arranged for him to wait in the car or near the car somewhere in the shade. Sometimes he would stay with my father and sometimes our driver would. When the day was over we checked into a fine hotel in Kumasi with a pool. However because we would depart early in the morning there was not much time to explore the area by ourselves. The next day at our request we departed slightly later than planned. On the second day we visited Assin Manso Slave River site, To me this was the highlight of the tour and the most spiritual experience. You start of with some history detailing how the slaves were captured from the upper northern regions and transported to this site where they would bathe in African waters for the last time before being transported to the castles along the coast ultimately to be transported and sold overseas. You also perform a ritual where you walk barefoot to the river and have a moment of silence for the hundred-thousands if not millions who were bathed in the river or never even made it that far. The ritual also entails a moment where you’re allowed to stand in it and make a wish while offering a coin to those who were there before you. I found this experience to be incredibly spiritual and the entire experience made me feel more connected to the country and the people. After, we departed to cape coast castle. This structure is very impressive, and even more impressive is it’s history. It’s important to take the castle tour in order to really appreciate the history of the castle. Unfortunately my father was unable to do the tour, however our guide was incredibly gracious and walked him around a bit to take photos and then sat with him until I finished doing the tour. I can not say often enough how incredibly flexible and accommodating our tour guide was, and I am very thankful with his help with my father. After visiting Cape Coast Castle we headed to our resort for the night, which was even more luxurious than the previous one. The next day our trip Continued to Elmina, where we visit the Elmina castle. Unfortunately my father was again unable to participate with the tour, but once again our host was incredibly accommodating and stayed with my father while I did the tour of the castle. After this we decided to cut our trip short as the next part would involve much physical activities that my father would not be able to partake of. I can’t thank our guide and driver enough for being so accommodating and for making this an experience I will never forget and will do again next time I visit Ghana. I wanted to immediately place a review but the Tripadvisor website was having longlasting issues and it was impossible for a while.

Tour of Accra - very interesting and friendly guide
It was a hot day, when isn't, so the air conditioned car was very welcome. We were driven around but also got out to see things as well as to have a bit of a walk. We walked by the fishing area where the finish community lived and had their boats, which was very interesting. We visited the mausoleum, a craft market as well as driving through the different areas of the city.
