    Road trip of a lifetime
The trip to Erta Ale and Dallol was one of the toughest road trips I ever had. There was a payment issue with another tour member, which stranded the tour process for a couple of hours to settle it and there were so many detailed things to do on the way and so many people to deal wit. Ethio Travel and Tours managed all the journey flawlessly, nevertheless.

    Great experience!
My friend and I chose to visit Danakil Depression & Erta Ale volcano, and we used ETT for transportation. The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly witnessing the active Erta Ale volcano, a rare and mesmerizing experience. Highly recommended!

    Amazing experience!
We started our trip to Debrelibanos and Portugal Bridges at 2:00 am with our guest Sophia. We were looking at the beautiful natural vegetation and landscape. We entered Debrelibanos at 1:30. We saw a place and an ancient tower and we also saw animals like chilada baboon and had a very pleasant day with sopihiya.

    Unreliable service in Ethiopia
I wouldn't recommend Ethio Travel and Tours (ETT) as the planner for your travels in Ethiopia for the following reasons: 1. ETT is irresponsive as soon as they get money from you. They were eager to communicate with me and answer all my questions promptly when we started talking. Yet, when I paid them in full for all our agreed-upon services, they started ignoring my emails and WhatsApp messages. 2. The company works with non-trustworthy local guides. One time, my guide was late for 1.5 hours for my tour. Another time, one of their guides promised me a partial refund due to changes in the initially agreed program, which never happened. 3. The company takes money for the services they don't provide. We agreed on a three-day Danakil Depression tour for three days. Yet, they provided me with a two-day tour only. When I asked for a partial refund for making the tour two days instead of three, they never replied to me regarding this inquiry. 4. The company lies and holds information in secret. They promised to run a Danakil Depression tour even if I was alone. Yet, when I landed in Semera and was about to start the tour, they informed me that I had to wait for one day until other people arrived. I couldn't wait as I had only one weekend for that tour, so I missed one day, as my tour became shorter and I was forced to wait for others to come, about which I was informed only when I was about to start my tour. Overall, my experience in Ethiopia could have been better, and I wouldn't recommend anyone trust ETT. If you go to Ethiopia, look for more reliable companies than ETT to avoid unpleasant surprises along the way.

    The Portuguese Bridge is stunning!
I had a fun adventure with guides Ibrahim and Amir! The drive to Debre Libanos was stunningly beautiful and Ibrahim taught me Amharic as we drove. We were lucky and got to see the Gelada Baboons. The Portuguese Bridge is more beautiful than I had imagined and I loved getting to explore that area and have lunch overlooking the Blue Nile River. In the morning I was picked up from my hotel, which was very convenient. We drove to their main office and did wait about 1.5 hours before leaving, but I think this delay was mostly related to the other clients having a flight delay. I felt safe as a solo female traveller. Overall it was such a great experience!

    Everything happened as programmed.
Absolutely! Meseret was amazing and helped me build my personalized itinerary from scratch with all the activities that I was most interested in. We worked together through the “What’s App” app. She was very responsive and readily available, energetic and supportive.

A great experience going through nature
This tour was probably the highlight of Ethiopia from Addis. My tourguide Haben was terrific and quite knowledgeable. I got picked up in the morning from my place and transferred to the office which is where I met other tourists. Then from there, we started the tour. It was a quite long drive. We went to Debre Libanos monastery. I am not Christian but the architecture over there is quite interesting. The monastery is very orthodox and it has few rules, one of them is something I never heard like no intercourse for 48hrs before heading into church. Then after that, while on drive to Portuguese bridge we spotted few Gelada baboons which are quite fascinating. Near to bridge, we stopped by for authentic Ethiopian lunch which is really delicious and has some great views. Finally we went to the Portuguese bridge and the place where you see waterfalls. This is great viewpoint and great place for picture.

    Lovely time in the desert
Afar region is simply stunning with a variety of natural landscapes - deserts, salt lakes, hot springs and more. During my visit I was also able to view lots of villages and see how rural Ethiopian people live. I was met at Semera Airport by Aki, a highly professional and friendly guide. I was very fortunate to also have the world’s most skilful driver who navigated some very tough terrain to get us where we needed to be safely! Excellent food was on offer due to a cook as well. ETT were easy to contact when it came to planning my time here, with strong English and quick response times. While there were some hiccoughs along the way, ETT were able to be flexible with the itinerary and making suitable arrangements so that no highlight was missed. They also arranged a part-day tour for me in Addis Ababa that went very smoothly. I recommend Afar and ETT for some truly unique sights!

    3 day danakil depression tour
5 out of 5. Awesome tour. Once in a lifetime experience. Slept outdoors, under the stars. Trekked to a volcano. Tour guides were very considerate of each guest and very attentive. Easy meals, simple sleeping arrangement, made it back at scheduled time. No complaints.

    Definitely worth
Overall, a great package of highly interesting places. Tour guide was a remarkable source of local history and knowledge. Always providing essential information throughout the trip. The Danakil Volcano Trip is not for you if you want 5 star luxury and haute cuisine. If you do want an extraordinary experience, it is for you. The hotels which ETT suggested were great. All in all we enjoyed very much and would surely return to Ethiopia and recommend ETT travel agency.

    Lake Wonchi
Albeit long the destination was worth the travail getting there. Took a boat ride on the lake to an island there. There was road construction on the way slowing our progress but hopefully future travelers will have smooth roads. On the way back we were stooped by military authorities who apparently were displeased by our speed of transport. After looking at our passports and hearing the driver's explanation that this was a tour we were given permission to continue back to Addis Ababa. I would live to add photos of my trip but my phone was stolen on my last day in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

    The trip has it all
I know that the holiday was quite complex, but all went pretty much to plan. It was an excellent trip and very memorable. I would like to thank you personally for your patient and attentive support both before and during the holiday. I have made lifelong friends and created lifelong memories which will be hard to match. Thank you to the ETT Team for creating the space to have so much fun.

Very reassuring to have ETT to organize all of the details of our travel
Ethiopia is an amazing country with its fascinating history and impressive culture and our guide Robel has done his very best to show us every corner of his lovely country to us. Although we had joined an 8 day tour, we could visit many of the important sights, thanks to Ethio Travel and Tours for the correct itinerary. The hotels were all decent 3 stars in good locations and flights between long distances helped us a lot to spare more time for sightseeing. I really enjoyed my time in Ethiopia.

    Day trip
Hello, just want to thank you for your great planning. We had the amazing Maria as our tour guide and she made us feel. She was incredibly knowledgeable and provided a well-balanced day for us to enjoy. We got complimentary city tour of Addis. You can rent a vehicle for full day Addis Ababa sight seeing at $30 USD including fuel from Ethio Travel and Tours as well.

I did the Day Trip to Debre Zeit/ Bishoftu. Sigo picked me up from the hotel and took me to the coffee shop near their office to scan my Viator ticket. We had a great conversation about religion as we sat in the traffic. I met some of the ETT staff at the coffee shop and they were all personable and friendly. They was talking in their language but it was a lot of laughter and good energy while I waited on my tour. My guide for the day was Mamo. He was very kind and a fun guy to spend the day with. We had lunch at Kuriftu Resort and Spa which was a nice treat. I really appreciated the fact that Mamo liked taking pictures. I got some really cool pictures of the day without having to take out my tripod. Mamo was a very safe driver and he was very patient in the Addis Ababa traffic that would drive me insane! Later in the evening after my tour I got a WhatsApp message asking me if I made it back safely and offering me an invite to a farewell dinner. I met a third driver named David who was just as kind and patient as the other two drivers. When the dinner show started David said he was going to the office and I should call him when I was done. I told him it didn’t make sense for him to drive back when I could just walk back to my hotel. The farewell dinner was around the corner from my hotel. David was insistent that I call him, so I finally said ok just so he wouldn’t feel obligated to stay. Shortly after he left I got a call from the office telling me to call them when I was ready. I explained to them that I didn’t want anyone to have to drive to pick me up and take me around the corner. As a solo female traveler I really appreciated ETT making sure I was safe and comfortable with every driver that I was paired with.

My father and I had a great time travelling with Hallie to Debre Zeit. It is the perfect one day trip if you are looking to get away from the city. I highly recommend this tour.

Takes a bit of time to get there but it is worth it. We had coffee next to one crater and was rowed out on another, and I did some rowing, then it was time for lunch which was at a resort next to another water filled crater, which was nice, followed by a two man canoe trip. A great guide ( Belete ), kept us informed. A great day out.
