- 106fidelisk0 contributionsA Nostalgia Tour in Addis AbabaSisay is endowed with vast knowledge of the history of Abbysinia. His guidance across the historical places in the city was a riminiscence of my days in MA Course unit on the History of the Nile Civilization!! We visited the church that was built by Menelik II after the battle of Adwa against the Italian troops!! Every site that we went to was a place of indepth-learning. Sisay is an amazing tour guide.Written October 24, 2024
- Happiness7477690 contributionsSisay gave us a guided tour of Ntoto. We made Injira and visited the Saint George's Cathedral Church in Addis Ababa.I enjoyed every bit of Addis Ababa. - wambuam20200 contributionsAddis a DaySisai is fun, cool and super easy. This combination worked to make exploring Addis a special experience with him for he has an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of the flower that Addis is. From vantage points in Entoto for the views of Addis to the market, museums, Addis University, among others, a trip with Sisai has you enamoured by Ethiopia. The guy even recommended some novels. Try Sisai and thank me later.Written October 18, 2024
- elenavG4662UM0 contributionsA great experienceSisay is a serious, skilled, knowledgeable, reliable and very experienced tourist guide. He led a group of about 10 people to some of the most iconic places in Addis (St George Cathedar, Entoto, etc), and knew how to answer to all our many questions as to the history and culture of these places. One can easily see that he has a diploma in tourist studies from the University of Addis Ababa, as one has the feeling to be accompanied by a scholar. And on the top of that, he is extremely kind, nice, and generous. I highly reccommend him!Written October 18, 2024
- JessN930 contributionsMaking the most of our layover!Traveling back to the US from India with some friends, we had a layover of about eight hours and went on this approximately five-hour tour. Sisay and the driver met us in the airport parking lot and that went very smoothly. We visited the Merkato, the Bata LeMariam church, a juice place, and the Yod Abyssinia restuarant. Sisay was extremely informative and great to talk to about just about any topic. The Merkato and the church were fascinating places. The juice bar had great vibes. We all had a ball. Probably the best tour I've been on in my life.Written October 13, 2024
- katlehokanos0 contributionsA fantastic day in AddisWe only had a day to spare and Sisay made our stay in Ethiopia. He is knowledgeable, a fantastic companion and fun. We went to Entoto, the St George Cathedral, the market, Addis Ababa University Museum, and then ended at an Ethiopian restaurant. It was a diverse and fun tour. Very worth it.Written October 12, 2024
- shantidavid0 contributionsIncomparable Addis Ababa tourHow to express just how special and valuable was our experience with Sisay touring Addis Ababa for the first time? We had a vanishingly short duration in the city and having never before visited there was so much we wanted to see. Armed with some details of what we were interested in seeing, Sisay was waiting for us at the airport as promised when we arrived. Our tour of the mercato was truly eye opening and special, and capped with a stop at the best fresh juice stand you're likely to encounter anywhere. Special mention is also warranted for our visit to the Bat Haile Mariam church. Sisay arranged a special tour of the church for us, including a journey to the crypt where the tombs of King Menelik II, his wife, daughter (and successor) and the daughter of Emperor Haile Selassie are located. The visit was capped with a traditional dinner featuring Ethiopian musicians and dancers and Sisay got us back to the airport just in time to catch our flight out. I promise if you engage his services Sisay will not disappoint. As someone with deep knowledge, love and reverence for his singularly beautiful country, Sisay will only make you wonder why you hadn't visited sooner. I know I look forward to returning as soon as possible and seeing more of Ethiopia with Sisay as my guide.Written October 4, 2024
- andywarrensmith0 contributionsPerfect experience with limited timeAddis is somewhere I had always wanted to visit. The opportunity came where I had an afternoon/evening layover at bole and wanted to make the most of it. Sisay and Adefa tours really came through and showed us the Mercato (very unique market) among other things. It was really a dream come true for me and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to see Addis Ababa.Written October 4, 2024
