Amazing tour conducted by Yhun Eijgu of Liyu Tours. In 1 day we were able to see several impressive locations in Addis Ababa. I was able to get such a significant impression of the city and the people. To be noted that Yhun was so knowledgeable about the sites we visited including their historical facts.

This was a good tour for someone who is in search of a light trip to explore Addis Ababa’s main landmarks. We were able to learn a lot about the city’s history and culture from Yhun (I hope I got the name right) and then continued the trip with another guide named Amanuel. Both were informative and had a great knowledge of the history of Ethiopia. We loved the coffee shop stop & the aromatic perfectly prepared macchiato. We also had a glimpse of the famous merchato as it was raining so we passed by it and Amanuel did all the explanation and story-telling job. The National museum was interesting as well. The tour ended with the church on mount entoto where we had a panoramic view of the whole city from an altitude of 3,000 meters above sea level.

We got lucky on two counts : We chose Ethiopia as our destination and we chose Liyu Tours to show us around. We did Addis, Bahir Dar, Gondar and Lalibela over 7 days. At each location, we had local guides who were extremely knowledgeable and who knew the local spots that we would have otherwise missed. We enjoyed the company of Aman (Addis), Abebe (Bahir Dar), Girum, assisted by Sisai and Alex (Gondar) and Balay (Lalibela) who made us feel safe and welcome. A special shout out to Girum who arranged for an impromptu birthday party at the Four Sisters restaurant at Gondar. Ethiopia is an awesome country - we just scratched a bit of its rich history, culture, cuisine, wildlife, its rugged landscape. Our interactions with the local people, especially the school kids was wonderful. From the 3+ million year old Lucy located in Addis to the scenic (and extremely clean) Lake Tana - the source of the Blue Nile, to the monasteries dotting its periphery, the palace complex of Gondar, the Gelada baboons we spotted while on a hike at Kosoyye, the fabulous rock hewn churches of Lalibela. This was an unforgettable experience.

My daughter and I had an outstanding experience due to the fantastic organisation of our customized 8-day trip including Lake Tana, road trip Bahir Dar to Gondar, Simien Mountains, Lalibela, Harar and Addis Ababa). We met so many lovely people on our way and were very impressed by the knowledge of the local guides. We always felt welcomed, safe and more as a family member than a tourist. We highly recommend this travel agency and will for sure come back.

My mother and I had an excellent experience and time with Liyu. They responded super quickly and were very reliable. I asked for customisations to one of their trips, which they were happy to organise for us. The whole trip, which inluded many domestic flights, was organised very well and all guides at each location were excellent. We had a fantastic time visiting the local sights, learning about the history of the country and meeting its lovely people. Would definitely book with them again!

I really enjoyed this tour of Addis Ababa, I had a long layover on my way to my next destination and this was perfect to get a quick feel for the city. We visited a view point on top of the city, a church older than the city itself, a museum, a coffee shop and a large open air market. Amanueal was super knowledgeable and a great guide who made my short time in Addis really enjoyable.

I only had two days in Addis Ababa and both days I took a tour with Liyu and I cannot recommend them enough! This day tour was on my second day (after the food tour the previous afternoon). We stopped at the National Museum of Ethiopia to see Lucy's bones, one of the main Greek Orthodox churches (St George's Church), Mercato, the largest open-air market in Africa, and finally Entoto Park with a gorgeous view over Addis. It was fascinating to learn more about the Ethiopian Orthodox church and way of life. Both our guide and driver were FANTASTIC! Cannot recommend enough! :)

I only had two days in Addis Ababa and both days I took a tour with Liyu and I cannot recommend them enough! The food tour I did was in the afternoon from about 2-6pm and we made numerous stops along the way. We stopped at a traditional meat restaurant that served up fresh meat along with Injera as well as traditional curries eaten with the Injera. Absolutely delish. We went to a smoothie place where they made a layered smoothie with mango, banana, avocado & papaya. We also had some traditional Ethiopian coffee with a biscuit (kind of like fried dough) as well as some local beer and wine. HIGHLY recommend this tour and Liyu!

I was traveling solo and Liyu Tours made it one of the best holidays I ever had. Each guide was from the region I visited, making it sustainable for the local operators. I really support that. Each guide was of the highest quality. Every hotel and guesthouse had something special to offer. And, of course, the food! Can I give this company more stars????

The tour is incredible, the experiened and knowledgeable guide gave me all what I expected to see, red heart monkey in entoto mont. , rspectavulat Debre Ribano Church, Portugese Bridge.. Liyu Tour offer the best quality in reaonable price, if I visit Ethiopia again, Liyu will be my only choice.

So lucky to go with Liyu tour, every thing were arrange well, included vehicle, accomodations, meals...so that I did enjoy the tour, I would like to join their tour again. Guide and driver were all responsible and took care of me in every detail, thank you.
