          Expensive Zimbabwe!
Whilst we saw a reasonable amount of game in the Chobe national park on the day of our trip (giraffe, elephant, hippo, kudu, buffalo warthog, malibu stork and impala) We were very much part of a string of game drive vehicles all crowding round to look at game. The lunch was mediocre as would have been expected at a 3 star Cresta hotel. Our guy was friendly and helpful. We were told we could pay by card but on the Botswana side we were told it was cash. We then had to try and find a working ATM. (Which was difficult) Zim Immigration tried ''our card machine isn't working' but knowing the system we insisted on paying by card for our second $50 visa. Be warned to get a double entry visa at airport or border for $70 or be stung for 2 x $50. No one will advise you! And insist on paying by card . .. We found Vic Falls to be very expensive with the US$ not going very far!!

8 day tour from Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park, Elephant Sands, Chobe National Park and Maun
I can’t praise Africa Zim Travel & Tours more highly. They are a boutique tour operator that specialises in custom travel experiences. They built a tour itinerary around the dates my husband and I provided, and included all the stops and activities we wanted to include on our African safari adventure. Quite often along our adventure, we crossed paths with the big bus operators, and we were so pleased that we went with Africa Zim Travel & Tours, and did not have to share our safari with 30 other travelers. We opted for an all-tent experience, so that we could hear the sounds of Africa at night. But we could easily have upgraded to other accommodation if we had wanted. Initially we requested a range of accommodation options, all of which were great value for money, but we settled on tenting. We booked an 8-day tour from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe to Maun in Botswana. We were met by our awesome host, Stanford, at Vic Falls airport. He was our trusty companion, driver, animal spotter and most gracious guide for the duration of our trip. Africa Zim Travel & Tours has a supportive and symbiotic relationship with other small local operators. We were seamlessly handed over to other expert guides for the specialist adventures we had requested, like a game viewing Zambezi river sunset cruise, a 2-night stay over in the heart of Chobe National Park and another 2-night stay over in the Okavango Delta. Stanford was always there, with his infectious smile and glowing personality, to collect us and take us on the next part of our adventure. One advantage we were extremely grateful for, because of going with Africa Zim Travel & Tours, unlike the other big tour options out there, our tent was always built and furnished before we arrived. No need to erect our own tent at each stop. The Africa Zim team are really professional. There is a solid team of back-office members, who always respond to emails within hours. They are supported by a team of highly experienced tour guides who take us lucky travelers around Africa and make dreams come true. Our experience was first class from beginning to end. Thank you to everyone at Africa Zim Travel & Tours, for making our holiday unforgettable.

          Chobe day trip
Shearwater and Chobezi delivered a super efficient and well organized trip. Great game-viewing from a boat in the Chobe river (morning) and Game drive vehicle in the (afternoon) and a delicious lunch in between. Highly recommended experience for a day from Vic Falls

Incredible 7 day trip - attentive, organized, thorough, professional guides and company
We joined the 7 day tour of Hwange National Park, Chobe National Park and Victoria falls. We had a fantastic experience overall. We expected to be part of a larger group but the majority of the time it was just the two of us and our excellent guide, Stanford, who took very good care of us. For some of the game drives and activities we joined with others at the various lodges, but all of the experiences still felt very personalized. The lodges we stayed in were very nice, comfortable and upscale. In Hwange national park, all our game drives were only with us and the guides so we got a lot of personalized attention / explanations. In Chobe it was busier and more people on the game drives, but still very nice and the scenery there was stunning. The food at all of the accommodations was excellent. While lunch generally isn't included, we usually didn't feel like we needed to buy anything extra and just had a few snacks, as so many of the other meals were so big. Both river cruises were exceptional - the wildlife on the Chobe river and the sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi river. November was a nice time of year to go - things were relatively quiet, but we could still see a lot of animals, and while the water was 'lower' at Victoria falls it was still very impressive, and possible to go to Devil's pool on the Zambia side. Our guide was very organized, always gave us the information we needed, was always coordinating various logistics and plans (even optional activities), tried to personalize/customize things and give us options / flexibility when that was possible. He also shared a lot of nice information about the different cultures we were encountering. All of the staff from those working in the lodges, to those in the national parks, were incredibly helpful and welcoming. While the tour isn't cheap, it does feel like a good value for your money when you consider all of the different things you're getting to do and experience. The communication with the company was always prompt and professional. Things which could be improved - while we knew that drinks we're not included (we expected this meant alcohol mainly) - in some cases, we also had to purchase other non-alcoholic drinks like water. Much of the time, the guides or those leading the game drivers also provided that, but there were a few instances when we were at the lodge during the day, when we had to purchase it ourselves. I would just recommend asking the guide(s) for additional water when it's available, or probably make sure to buy some extra when you're in the town so you don't need to just buy from the lodges which are more costly. Conversely though, some of the activities themselves do include their own drinks / alcohol (like the sunset cruise or some evening game drives, which is very nice). Visas - a bit more explanation about which visa to purchase when arriving to Victoria Falls airport in the welcoming instructions would have been helpful, especially if a person wants to take advantage of an optional activity where they'd cross over into Zambia and need to re-enter Zimbabwe an additional time (like Devil's pool). I bought the double entry visa but should have bought the "Kaza Univisa". And at the airport even when I asked for clarification, they sometimes withhold this information unless you ask directly for that visa by name, which would have saved me some money if I'd known exactly to ask for that. Some additional information about some of the optional activities in Victoria falls could be provided in the initial instructions too which could help someone plan accordingly. We also purchased trip insurance which we were told is mandatory to have (and generally a good thing to have) - but in the end, no one verified if we did or didn't have it which it was said that they would.

          Trip of a lifetime
We loved the day trip to Chobe ! We stayed in Victoria Falls for 3 nights and took this 9 hour day tour to Botswana . The tour included transfers , river cruise , lunch and an 90 minute road safari. We loved it . The only issue was the Zimbabwe entry visa which we had to pay 2x ( double entry visas are not permitted for Canadians) . It was still worth it.

Wonderful trip, very well planned. Lots of great memories!
From booking the tour and coordinating with office staff with Africa Zim Travel everything went smoothly. They answered all our questions when we had them. Always a very timely response. Our driver Pamela met us at the airport when we arrived in Victoria Falls. We were taken to Bayette Lodge which was excellent and the food was great while we stayed there. Everyone at the lodge was polite, friendly and the service was great. Our first activity was the sunset cruise on the Zambezi River and it was wonderful, all the drinks you could have and yummy snacks! We saw lots of elephants, hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife. The next day we went to Victoria Falls where Mackson was our guide there. Very informative. The next day we went to Chobe National Park and stayed at the Chobe Safari Bush Lodge. The rooms were excellent, food was fantastic and we went on two game drives, saw lots of animals. Also went on a sunset Cruise which was my favorite of the whole trip. Saw so many Buffalo, hippos, elephants, Impala, water monitor, snakes, many birds and too many other animals to mention. After 2 days we went to Elephant Sands Reserve. I had read other reviews on TripAdvisor and had some concerns about the place being run down. But to my surprise it was very clean, the tents were roomy and the beds were comfortable. We saw lots of elephants up close. The next day we went to Maun and stayed at the Maun Lodge. Again, the accommodations were wonderful, clean and comfortable beds and excellent food and entertainment in the evenings. While there we did the Okavango Delta morocco tour. OT was our driver for the day. He did a great job driving us down some very wild roads, and waited for us while we did our boat tour. OT also packed a nice lunch for us to have while we were out for the day. He waited for us so when we were ready to go back we could do so. This was a nice paced trip and I would not change any of the places where we stayed. We did go to a Boma dinner one night in Victoria Falls. Our table was in a great location for the viewing of the show, but the food was mediocre and there was too much noise. But it did celebrate the African culture.

Unreal experience - cannot recommend enough!
Best safari i've ever been to. The team was INCREDIBLE and service was amazing. Camping was so comfortable and the food was phenomenal. Leo, our amazing guide, showed us everything we wanted and more (33 lions including them stalking on the savannah, leopard, swimming elephants, and 20+ other animals) - he was an expert spotter and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience and learned a lot about the animals. Genuinely caring and amazing person. Cannot recommend enough.

          Awe-inspiring National Park
Pick up at 7.30 return at 6.15 and a full day it was. Morning travel to Botswana. 3 hour river cruise, buffet lunch then 3 hour game drive before returning to Victoia Falls in Zimbabwe. River views and wildlife spectacular. Getting bogged in the Kalahari desert was unexpected but part of a great game drive. Overall....SENSATIONAL

          An amazing experience
What an amazing experience, we had the time of our lives We we're picked up in Victoria Falls by Andy, our lovely and knowledgeable driver/guide who taught us so much about this part of Africa and it's culture. We drove to Kasane and Chobe where we had two morning drives, an afternoon drive and a river cruise. There were elephants, giraffs, impalas, kudus, hippos and buffalos galore. There were a number of colourful birds and we got to see lions with cubs, lions playing with prey (a baboon) and even a leopard. The next stop was Elephant Sands were you can sit by the fire and watch the elphants up close. This was an amazi g experience although the smell could be quite interresting. And by the way, in winter, bring warm clothes. At night the temperature went down to about 5 degrees celsius and there is no heating in the tents. The last part of the trip was in Maun and the Okavango delta. On the way there, there were a lot of animals along the road, impalas and elephants and a large herd of zebras. When we got to Maun we had a land back afternoon and evening before going on a mokoro (canoo) trip in the delta combined with a walking safari. This was such a peaceful and different way of seeing the animals. The walking safari was maybe the only letdown on the whole trip. We did not see many animals except some zebras and wilderbeest from a distanse, but the mokoro trip made up for it. The accomodation on the trip was also very nice and the staff at the lodges were great. Thanks to Andy for making this trip such a wonderful experience and to Pamela for organizing everything. Thank you so much.

A trip of a lifetime! Thank you!
AMAZING. From start to finish Africa Zim Travel were EXCEPTIONAL. We did the 7 Day Hwange, Chobe and Victoria Falls tour (although added an extra day to the end). Pamela walked us through the booking process all over email - tailoring a few things to our needs. We added an additional night to the trip; we had two children (9 and 10) and Pamela secured family rooms at 3 of our 4 hotels; and there was one vegan dietary requirement. None of these were an issue before or during our trip. Pamela suggested switching one of our days in Hwange from two AM/PM tours to one full day tour too. We were wary of a 10 hour day with children so had initially opted for the shorter tours, but we are so thankful that she suggested we do a full day. We saw so much more and children loved it. One thing we hadn't realised, was that we would be assigned a guide who would be with us throughout the trip. We were met at the airport by Stanford - who turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. He has left a mark on our family and we all miss him!! Stanford was responsible for all our transfers and joined us on some of our tours too. We learnt to realise that his presence on the tours ensured a far better experience and we are very grateful for that. He taught us so, so much throughout the trip - not just about the animals, but the culture and life in Zimbabwe and Botswana. He went above and beyond for us during the trip arranging a few extras too. The lodges all exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious. The tours were all fruitful with plenty of sightings and some fantastic Rangers. Everywhere we went felt safe and friendly. The border crossing was smooth. All the pre-trip info covered what we needed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!!! This package (and I know they offer others too) was a nice combo. Hwange and Chobe were different and I'm glad we experienced them both. The itinerary was full, and we slept well each night! We added an additional day at the end to enjoy Vic Falls and recover and we're glad we did that. It felt like a lovely end to an active holiday and created a nice balance. Thank you Africa Zim Travel!

          Amazing experience!
We did the 8 day trip beginning in Victoria Falls ending in Maun. The comunication with Africa Zim was good, the tour was well organized. It was a wonderful experience, everything worked, the hotels are very good and confortable, the dinners were delicious, the car is very confortable and the best was our guide Muto. He made sure everything was ok and has so much knowledge about animals and culture. The safaris were amazing, Chobe is a especial place with so many animals and the Okavango Delta was incredible! We loved every second!

Incredible Safari experience in a single day
The Chobe day trip turned out to be even better than I could ever imagined. After transferring from Victoria falls to Botswana her guy began driving us through The preserve. At first we saw in Impalas as soon afterwards there was a single elephant. Then things began to pick up. A group (herd?) of elephants came walking across the road among the three or four Safari Jeeps. Everything from a bull to a baby came within a very few feet of us and meandered around for a while. We moved along and soon came upon the Lions. It was midday and they did not see too energetic but they did saunter around a bit. A couple of them were lying next to the brush and we pulled up within three or four feet of them for photos. We then saw giraffe in the distance before we headed over for the buffet lunch. Lunch was okay but afterwards we went to our small boat and took to the river. Down the river we saw a hippos by the dozens, elephant feeding along the bank, crocodile, all kinds of birds and of course many Impala. This was a full day which we booked through get your guide with Africa Zim travel. The guy was excellent and the entire experience spectacular.

Even better than the best reviews.
Absolutely fabulous. Expected this tour to be good after reading all the reviews but it exceeded these expectations. Was picked up by very charming driver ( we picked up 3 other guests) who drove us to the Botswana border. He was most informative and helpful ( as are most Zimbabweans I’ve met). At the border we were picked up by a Botswana company which does the safari. In the morning our very informative guide took us on a land safari. Saw loads of elephants and lions - incredibly close by ( a couple of meters sometimes) giraffes and lots of various antelope, buffalo sorts, lots of birds. Then went to a good buffet lunch on river. ( lovely location) where we then caught our boat ( with the same guide )Our boat was luckily small ( there were some large double deckers) which meant we could again get super close to the animals. Cruising slowly up the river is stunning ( even without animals ) but seeing herds of elephants, water buffalo, crocodiles, antelope sorts, hippos, birds etc is just fabulous. And we came literally in touching distance of the elephants. So what you see in the photos is really true. This day packs in so much, yet is most relaxing, fun experience crossing border, good buffet lunch. And of course the good guides really make it. It’s a brilliant day and excellent value

Just returned from a 10 days five star journey with Africa Zim Travel. Very good communication before the journey to tailor the trip to be just right for us. Quick and reliable responses. During the journey, our very special guide, Stanford, went many extra miles to make sure that we had a pleasant trip. He was knowledgeable and very ready to answer all kinds of questions whilst sharing his country with us. Always funny, safe and pleasant company. We had so many breathtaking moments, with excellent guides paying full respect to the animals in Matobo and Hwange. What a beautiful and interesting country with kind, welcoming people.

My friends and I booked this tour because we wanted to see Victoria Falls, the Great Zimbabwe, and safari. We thought rather than trying to book separate flights why not drive? It was a great experience to be immersed in Zimbabwe and we had a wonderful trip with Blessing and Sheila! The hotels we were booked into were all very nice. I think our favorite was seeing the elephant walking through the parking lot after dinner in the Hwange Safari Lodge! We walked suspension bridges over Mutarazi Falls (2nd highest waterfall in Africa), toured the Great Zimbabwe which is such an awe inspiring place, tracked rhinos and visited prehistoric caves with Ian (who is basically the Zimbabwean equivalent of the crocodile hunter and an absolutely fabulous guide!), saw what felt like a million elephants in Hwange, and then finished the trip in Victoria Falls where we swam in the Devil's Pool and did a sunset river cruise on the Zambezi. It was an incredible trip and we all had a great time! If you are planning to go to Devil's Pool or just Zambia in general be sure to get the dual multi-entry visa for Zimbabwe and Zambia, it will save you money (we didn't realize you could get one visa for both.) Also be sure to bring cash with you. There is a shortage of cash in the country and you can't get it outside of Victoria Falls without waiting in long lines. They use American dollars there so you can bring cash from home or get it in Vic Falls. Frequently credit card machines were down or didn't work with international cards outside of Vic Falls so cash was essential.
