Exciting, physically challenging river rafting experience!
This was a heart pumping once in a lifetime experience. Not for the meek or people who aren’t into adventure. 19 rapids many at level 5. Guides were amazing, knowledgeable, and very, very skilled. Many of us were thrown into the water but retrieved in an expert fashion. Several boats went over but due to the safety orientation everyone knew what to do. The only downside of this was the 250 metre very steep hike into and out of the gorge that had people of all ages exhausted. You must be very fit for this hike up and down. Nice wrap up at the top with beverages and food.

    So much fun!
I went whitewater rafting with Wild Horizons on the Zambezi River out of Victoria falls in August. I was a little nervous however the professional and experienced team quickly put you at ease. I was picked up at my hotel by Bruce and then met the rest of the team at the Lookout Cafe where they gave you a safety briefing and a cuppa before heading to the river. We started at rapid 11 due to the high water. A long, steep walk down to the river where we boarded the rafts and practiced the key skills for the adventure ahead. The river is magnificent. we did about 10 rapids ranging from grade 2/3 to 5. It was so much fun. Exhilaration followed by sections of calm river where you could take in the amazing scenery with Zimbabwe on one side and Zambia on the other. Sugar, our rafting guide was fun and kept us safe. We fell out once but were quickly gathered back into the raft to enjoy the rest of the trip. It was a steep walk out however the guides are there to help you clamber over rocks and lend a hand should you need it. A nice hot lunch was provided after before being dropped off at your hotel. I am so glad i chose to do this. It made my trip to Victoria Falls and Africa. Wild Horizons were a great company to take you on this adventure. If you are thinking of doing it. DO IT! you won't regret it.

    Great day at Victoria Falls
On Sunday, September 10, my wife and I spent a wonderful day with our guide "Happy" from Wild Horizons! First "Happy" took us on a walking tour of Victoria Falls and did a great job of telling us about this magnificent wonder of the world! Next he took us on a tour of the town of Victoria Falls and to have "lunch with a local" named Margaret. After lunch he took us back to our lodge to rest and clean up. Later in the evening he took us to the Lookout Cafe for a great meal with a stunning view. After dinner he returned us to our lodge. Happy had a long day, but he was gracious, informative and we felt very safe with him! Thanks Happy for a great day!

    Amazing Tandem Zipline Experience
My 7 year old daughter and I did a tandem zipline and we just loved it!!! The view is astonishing and the staff members are very nice and helpful. My daughter loved it so much, that now is asking to come back next year to do tandem swing :) Highly recommend this activity even for those who are afraid of heights.

    Probably wouldn't do it again
This experience was fine but not exceptional. Our tour only had two stops on it--the old baobab tree and the bridge over the gorge. Our guide was engaging and knowledgeable, particularly about the history of the bridge, but it felt like there wasn't a lot to the tour. Additionally, our party of three was accompanied by three staff from Wild Horizons--a tour guide, a photographer, and a third individual whose purpose was a bit unclear (but was very nice). Overall, it made for a slightly strange dynamic. In the future, I think just a guide would probably be sufficient.

    A unique experience
Our kids loved the experience and grateful for the very professional staff. A special thanks to Bhuzani who made it so much fun. The kids immediately felt safe with him as he kept boosting up their courage to face the challenge. It is reassuring to note that safely is their first priority.

An experience you will never forget
My 16 year old son and I had a wonderful time. The climb down to, and up from, the rapids was physically demanding but well worth the effort. Nonstop action. The staff was fun and attentive.

    Great team & daredevil experience
Easily one of the craziest experiences of my life. Certainly not for everyone since many rapids of the tour are class 4-5 (out of six) and the water is extremely powerful. Nevetherless, the staff was top notch and knew every inch of the Zambezi river. Stewart and his team were extremely professional and ensured that all of us had a great time from start to finish. So if you are keen on some adrenaline and don’t mind being tossed around by the rapids and to swallow some Zambezi water, I can only recommend you give this a try!

    Activities at Vic Falls
Rating at poor may seem a little harsh as the arranged pick ups and transfers went on time, smoothly and with very polite drivers. It all went wrong with the activities. We had booked the fast ( jet )boat trip and the bike ride trip . So on arrival at their offices at the Lookout Cafe we were prepped for the boat trip, given life jackets etc and asked to sign a disclaimer. This we did in good faith not knowing what was to come. Bit of history, I have done the white water twice in the past so know what the walk down into and out of the gorge is like but down from the Lookout was something else. Starting with the first steel stairway which in fairness was ok but then onto a very steep steel stairway , not for the faint hearted, especially with stair treads in poor condition and an inadequate handrail which had actually broken away from the support post at the base of the stairway resulting in the rail being in my mind particularly dangerous. From then on were a long series of very , very irregular steps , very steep at times formed out of smooth stone and concrete, slippery and crumbling In a lot of places until we reached the bottom where we had to negotiate huge smooth wet boulders. Climbing and slipping down on your bum to work your way to the waiting boat . After a short while getting organized we set off heading under the bridge round Danger Point above into what they called the boiling pot. We sat there for a few minutes then set off back under the bridge back to where we started. 5 - 6 minutes max. They secured the boat and asked us to remain seated whilst they fiddled with the engine , apparently one of the jets had become blocked up ??!!! About 10 minutes later we set off again but literally 1 minute then back to the docking bay. After a further 7-8 minutes looking at the engine off we go again under the bridge to the boiling pot, sat there for a while then back to the docking bay 4 - 5 minutes then that was that. Ok so the trip was VERY , VERY restricted because of the amount of water coming over the falls, should it have gone ahead ?? PLUS concerns with the engines, the safety factor had been pushed to one side or even abandoned so as to offer something rather than cancel and offer refunds . Had there been a break down I'm sure we would have been swept uncontrollably down through grade 5 rapids to Mozambique!!! Of course we the had to make our way back to the top but being aware of the pitfalls slow and cautious was the way to go. My wife and I , both 65 fairly fit and up for most things , managed ok, the three other passengers all over 60's struggled. Serious attention should be paid to the access down and this hazard should be explained in detail before signing the disclaimer so it's clear to all ages the possible issues and with water levels so high some consideration on safety BUT, a big BUT, it would seem that some things come before the safety of the clients ? The following day we had booked the bike tour which unfortunately had to be cancelled because of issues down at the Lookout offices they arranged something later in the afternoon but we had already got something else organized. They then suggested being collected on our final morning at 6.45am doing the tour and back which was impossible as our airport transfer was booked for 10.00 am It would be nice if Blue Horizons would offer a refund as they cancelled in the first instance, it's not a fortune but have organized with our tour operator to donate any refund to local clinics , schools or groups. Vic Falls is a massive tourist destination and truly a fabulous place. Care and safety of visitors I'm sure is paramount in everyone's mind but for me I think there are some things that could and should be improved . We will be back . K & B

    Mistreated By Wild Horizons
The Helicopter flight was fun and well done. However, Wild Horizons acted unethically and mistreated us. We used Wild Horizons to pick us up at the airport to take us to our lodging. Upon pickup, the driver asked if we were interested in a Helicopter flight over the falls. We answered "yes". The driver said we could stop by the Wild Horizons office to buy tickets. We said that was not necessary, and the driver replied that it was on the way to the lodge anyway. (It was not "on the way".) I thought this might be a way to get us to purchase tickets without having a chance to compare prices. I was right. At the Wild Horizon office, I specifically asked the sales person if Wild Horizons offered the best price for the Helicopter flight (12-13 minutes). He replied "yes", so we purchased two tickets. Later, we discovered the same 12-13 minute helicopter tour on Viator for $14.15 per person less, including taxes, park fees, and fuel surcharge. We returned to the Wild Horizon office and asked for a $28 refund as the Wild Horizon representative had not been truthful at the time we bought the tickets. The Wild Horizon salesperson denied he had told us that Wild Horizon had the lowest price. Then, he and another Wild Horizon employee started yelling at us and telling us they do not match prices. I explained that we would not have purchased the tickets if the salesperson had told us the truth originally. The Wild Horizon representatives continued to yell at us, deny what we had been told, and act unprofessionally. Not wanting further verbal abuse, we left the office. This behavior was inappropriate. Customers should never be subject to verbal abuse, even if Wild Horizons was not going to meet our request for a refund due to their salesperson's misinformation.

Lots of wildlife to be seen
We booked with Wild Horizons as they close to our hotel on the river. Initially we were a bit reluctant however once we were on board we were offered G&T’s with nibble. The guide was very knowledgeable on pointing out the wildlife in particular the numerous birds. Saw plenty of hippo and elephants.

We Fell in Love with Zimbabwe and it’s people
Best Guide - Zondani, so insightful and a true storyteller..could listen to him all day. What a pleasure🤗! Every tour/experience was magical and we certainly hope to visit again. Sunset river cruise, Victoria Falls tour and Flight of Angels helicopter tour left us desperately wanting more and in awe of nature and it’s absolute beauty. Thank you so much for everything. Zimbabwe and it’s people are absolutely wonderful❤️

    Fantastic trip
Picked up from our hotel and taken to river. Little bit confusing as many groups and many boats but got on the correct one. Everyone had a comfortable seat and table. Good selection of inclusive drinks. Saw a large group of hippopotamuses which was very exciting. Lovely sunset. Hot snacks were also provided which were tasty and excellent quality. Perfect end to our trip to Victoria Falls.

    A Must Do
Took a 13 minute flight. Pick up from our hotel. Everything was explained very clearly. Video/photograph package available. Flight is incredible and you see the river, falls and gorge. Gives a real insight as to the geography which is not so apparent from the land. Staff are all very friendly would thoroughly recommend.

I was so excited to do this adventure, and I wanted to have a video of my time there. I paid for the video and went out to have fun. It was wonderful, a little tiring but I did have fun. The company told me that they would email me the video to Dropbox, and sure enough, in a few days it was there. I didn't open it right away and continued on my vacation. And when I eventually opened up the video, I was NOT in the video. I am in the very first 2 minutes of the video, walking up to the first platform and I am NOT in the rest of the video. I feel this was a rip-off - so beware!

Overall OK experience. The zip lines were fun, with a couple providing excellent views of the gorge. Staff were friendly and we had no issues with safety or briefings etc.

BUT they put us in a group of 22, so it took forever to get through the tour. Lots of waiting around. We were easily caught up by the group of 2 who were following us - and the guides refused to rebalance the groups.

Summary: average zip lines, poor admin / group management, excellent safety

Canopy tour was really fantastic. But I paid $ 50 for the photos/videos, but after 2 month I didn't receive any. I've send a lot of e-mails but there is no response from Wild Horizons. I really want to receive the photos/videos were I paid for or my money back!

Our family of 3 did the canopy tour and had a great time! The guides were the best. Both explained all the techniques and safety aspects of the activity and made sure we were well looked after. I really liked that the canopy tour broke the zip lining up into smaller sections but still had incredible views of the river. It’s perfect for newbies to zip lining as two in our group had never done that.

We added 3 days in Victoria Falls onto the back of a 3 week African safari and it may have been the best part of the trip (all of it was fantastic). We loved everything we did with Wild Horizons. It started with a dinner at the Lookout Cafe as the sun was going down. The views of the gorge and bridge were breathtaking and when the nearly full moon came up during dinner, we were all scrambling for our cameras to try to capture the moment. The food, service, and ambiance were all top notch and the prices were quite reasonable. What a wonderful first impression! Then, a couple days later, we went on their canopy tour which was also highly recommended. It was great fun, with more amazing views of the gorge, and our guides (Gift and Sebastian) were awesome! Safe, entertaining, and so helpful. They made it such a great experience. Thanks again to Wild Horizons!

A cleverly designed canopy tour to allow you to admire the amazing views whilst enjoying the fun of zip lining. It was a good option for my daughter who has a condition with low muscle tone so not strong enough for the white water rafting adventure but exciting enough for her thrill seeking personality. the guides were excellent and with one in front and one behind we were well cared for

Don't miss this experience when in Victoria Falls! As an almost 70 year old, I had some reservations about doing this, but Nacho and Knowledge, our guides, made it fun and safe. Safety was their first priority and then making sure that we were comfortable and having fun. Nine ziplines later, we were "experts". The views from the ziplines were worth it by themselves, but our guides made this a "don't miss" experience.

God damn, what a rush! Did the canopy tour followed by the bigger zip wire across the gorge. Great fun. If you’re afraid of heights, the canopy tour is a great warm up for the main zip wire. Fantastic experience and the guides, Michael and Gift were very professional and safety conscious. Well done, I’d highly recommend. 😎😎
