About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- travel4free0 contributionsTrip of a lifetimeWe loved the day trip to Chobe ! We stayed in Victoria Falls for 3 nights and took this 9 hour day tour to Botswana . The tour included transfers , river cruise , lunch and an 90 minute road safari. We loved it . The only issue was the Zimbabwe entry visa which we had to pay 2x ( double entry visas are not permitted for Canadians) . It was still worth it.Written November 23, 2024
- Trymore M0 contributionsZimbabwe experienceThis is the best tour operator, everything was on point. Their guides are amazing. We enjoyed our safari. They are timely.Written November 14, 2024
- 560medhas0 contributionsUnreal experience - cannot recommend enough!Best safari i've ever been to. The team was INCREDIBLE and service was amazing. Camping was so comfortable and the food was phenomenal. Leo, our amazing guide, showed us everything we wanted and more (33 lions including them stalking on the savannah, leopard, swimming elephants, and 20+ other animals) - he was an expert spotter and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience and learned a lot about the animals. Genuinely caring and amazing person. Cannot recommend enough.Written September 8, 2024
- NeilSchier0 contributionsAwe-inspiring National ParkPick up at 7.30 return at 6.15 and a full day it was. Morning travel to Botswana. 3 hour river cruise, buffet lunch then 3 hour game drive before returning to Victoia Falls in Zimbabwe. River views and wildlife spectacular. Getting bogged in the Kalahari desert was unexpected but part of a great game drive. Overall....SENSATIONALWritten September 7, 2024
- HatStephens0 contributionsA trip of a lifetime! Thank you!AMAZING. From start to finish Africa Zim Travel were EXCEPTIONAL. We did the 7 Day Hwange, Chobe and Victoria Falls tour (although added an extra day to the end). Pamela walked us through the booking process all over email - tailoring a few things to our needs. We added an additional night to the trip; we had two children (9 and 10) and Pamela secured family rooms at 3 of our 4 hotels; and there was one vegan dietary requirement. None of these were an issue before or during our trip. Pamela suggested switching one of our days in Hwange from two AM/PM tours to one full day tour too. We were wary of a 10 hour day with children so had initially opted for the shorter tours, but we are so thankful that she suggested we do a full day. We saw so much more and children loved it. One thing we hadn't realised, was that we would be assigned a guide who would be with us throughout the trip. We were met at the airport by Stanford - who turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. He has left a mark on our family and we all miss him!! Stanford was responsible for all our transfers and joined us on some of our tours too. We learnt to realise that his presence on the tours ensured a far better experience and we are very grateful for that. He taught us so, so much throughout the trip - not just about the animals, but the culture and life in Zimbabwe and Botswana. He went above and beyond for us during the trip arranging a few extras too. The lodges all exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious. The tours were all fruitful with plenty of sightings and some fantastic Rangers. Everywhere we went felt safe and friendly. The border crossing was smooth. All the pre-trip info covered what we needed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!!! This package (and I know they offer others too) was a nice combo. Hwange and Chobe were different and I'm glad we experienced them both. The itinerary was full, and we slept well each night! We added an additional day at the end to enjoy Vic Falls and recover and we're glad we did that. It felt like a lovely end to an active holiday and created a nice balance. Thank you Africa Zim Travel!Written June 7, 2024
- markc1750 contributionsIncredible Safari experience in a single dayThe Chobe day trip turned out to be even better than I could ever imagined. After transferring from Victoria falls to Botswana her guy began driving us through The preserve. At first we saw in Impalas as soon afterwards there was a single elephant. Then things began to pick up. A group (herd?) of elephants came walking across the road among the three or four Safari Jeeps. Everything from a bull to a baby came within a very few feet of us and meandered around for a while. We moved along and soon came upon the Lions. It was midday and they did not see too energetic but they did saunter around a bit. A couple of them were lying next to the brush and we pulled up within three or four feet of them for photos. We then saw giraffe in the distance before we headed over for the buffet lunch. Lunch was okay but afterwards we went to our small boat and took to the river. Down the river we saw a hippos by the dozens, elephant feeding along the bank, crocodile, all kinds of birds and of course many Impala. This was a full day which we booked through get your guide with Africa Zim travel. The guy was excellent and the entire experience spectacular.Written May 24, 2024
- JaneS9620 contributionsEven better than the best reviews.Absolutely fabulous. Expected this tour to be good after reading all the reviews but it exceeded these expectations. Was picked up by very charming driver ( we picked up 3 other guests) who drove us to the Botswana border. He was most informative and helpful ( as are most Zimbabweans I’ve met). At the border we were picked up by a Botswana company which does the safari. In the morning our very informative guide took us on a land safari. Saw loads of elephants and lions - incredibly close by ( a couple of meters sometimes) giraffes and lots of various antelope, buffalo sorts, lots of birds. Then went to a good buffet lunch on river. ( lovely location) where we then caught our boat ( with the same guide )Our boat was luckily small ( there were some large double deckers) which meant we could again get super close to the animals. Cruising slowly up the river is stunning ( even without animals ) but seeing herds of elephants, water buffalo, crocodiles, antelope sorts, hippos, birds etc is just fabulous. And we came literally in touching distance of the elephants. So what you see in the photos is really true. This day packs in so much, yet is most relaxing, fun experience crossing border, good buffet lunch. And of course the good guides really make it. It’s a brilliant day and excellent valueWritten May 14, 2024

There’s also quite a bit of free time to explore Victoria Falls town or go for a helicopter ride (extra cost) if you want. All in all good experience.Written February 26, 2024
- jandaniel990 contributionsMixed bagMorning was very poor with a guide driving us around the park, but giving very limited information. Afternoon boat trip was good with a friendly knowledgeable guy at the helm, giving info about all the animals Lunch venue was a poor choice, with only barely edible foodWritten January 31, 2024
- 44lus0 contributionsAfrica Zim is worth recommending and trustingeverything was ok, contact, trip, organization, very good hotel. Trips to Chobe with VIC are highly recommended I recommend Africa Zim Travel & Tours and especially Pamala's help. She was very supportive.Written January 12, 2024
- MargaretHeidiAnn0 contributionsExcellent day at ChobeThe entire day was the highlight of our time in Victoria Falls... well, apart from seeing the falls! We saw an abundance of animals on both the river and land safaris: hippos, crocs, elephants, birds, zebra, giraffe and LIONS, to name a few. Our guides were well informed and personable, and strove to make our experience unforgettable. Lunch at the hotel was delicious and I had one of the best curries I've ever had. I would do this again! Oh, and the border crossing was typical Africa and I loved it. Just relax and go with the flow. You'll be well taken care of!Written December 16, 2023
- 131terried0 contributionsDon't waste your money with this company. poorly maintained and you are nothing but $$ to them.If this is your first game drive/safari, you may like it. If you experience REAL game drives/safaris with another company, you will know it this one is nothing but a tourist trap. The boat ride was good, we saw a lot of animals. Lunch was ok, not great, but better than a sandwich. Now, the truck tour - AWFUL. One seat was broken, seats were hard as a rock, views were obstructed by very high and almost level seats. Anyone in the second or back row can't see anything in front. The driver does not say much nor does the driver look for animals. It was like an amusement ride. We drove parallel to the river, the same river we cruised on, therefore saw the same animals. Then he drove parallel to that road, about 100 meters away, no animals. They can pretty much guarantee you will see elephants and then that's all they are interested in showing you. The rest of the time is driving along the river roads, not into the reserve any farther. The driver will say it's not the right time of year, or there has been a lot of rain, whatever excuse he thinks of. I asked why we didn't go into Chobe, and instead stayed along the river. He said that's what they (meaning all companies) do. Funny thing, we saw lots of trucks when we entered, but no other trucks running back and forth along the same area. They were all deeper into Chobe. All this company does is drive you along the river, make sure you see the elephants and tell you they can't drive any other roads. Extremely disappointing. And don't forget the seats are hard as a rock and you can't see over them. The driver never stopped to explain anything, Go with another company. I saw another review that said the seat was broken from September, so they can't be bothered fixing or maintaining their vehicles. I felt like nothing more than cattle being rounded up. Lesson learned - with this company, you are nothing but $$. Put you in the back of a very uncomfortable truck with limited viewing and hard seats, give you a (less then) two hour ride running on roads parallel to the river then take you back. No talk, only lecture about how you won't see anything but elephants. The reason you won't is because they don't take you into Chobe, just along the water. Kruger was a much different experience.Written December 3, 2023
- michaelsS1451MH0 contributionsPerfectly put togetherZim worked in conjunction with our Tanzania tour operator Sursee Safari's, to put together a epic 18 day safari. It combined Tanzania, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Victoria Falls. Blessing our transfer guide made sure everything went smoothly, watched out for my 78 year old mother, and added bungee jumping for my 21 year old daughter at the last minute at Victoria Falls, and still made everything work out effortlessly. Words cannot describe how good this tour was and what an amazing time we had. Nothing really prepares you for the experience of being these animals in the wild. The tour includes a variety of activities each one of which will impress you more the one before. Our guide and companion Pamela was lovely and great fun to travel with. She was very helpful nd insightful along the way as well as accommodating to our specific requests.
Would be an amazing adventure to do with children as well.
I could not recommend this trip more. So well worth it.

We made the 8 days tour together with our driver and guide Cosmas, a really professional guide, knowledgable about the different countries in southern Africa. He is an expert about the parks and the animals, his personality makes it easy even when you need to spend hours in the jeep.
We started in Victoria Falls, local game drive and then Chobe river safaris and cruises.
Then to Maun and Okawango delta via Elephant Sands. Even if we enjoyed a lot the programme, we suggest that the long transit to Okawango delta is improved. Too long time is spent in the car from Chobe to Maun just to spend very little time in the delta. Also we believe the activities in the Delta must be improved.

Right from the start when he picked us up, our guide was very friendly and helpful. Everything went smoothly and as discussed beforehand. He always adapted the programme to our wishes and we also had time for last-minute plans. The time flew by, even on the long car rides. The hotels and the rooms were always the best and the tour guides were also very good. I can recommend them as we were happy as can be.

We did the 8 day trip beginning in Victoria Falls ending in Maun.
The comunication with Africa Zim was good, the tour was well organized.
It was a wonderful experience, everything worked, the hotels are very good and confortable, the dinners were delicious, the car is very confortable and the best was our guide Muto. He made sure everything was ok and has so much knowledge about animals and culture. The safaris were amazing, Chobe is a especial place with so many animals and the Okavango Delta was incredible! We loved every second!

Blessing delivered a fantastic service guiding us for the entire trip.
Our trip was from Victoria Falls to Maun and included games drives & boat safaris. Accommodation and meals were of a high standard, and the transport, driven by Blessing, was very comfortable and safe.
We would highly recommend Blessing and Africa Zim Tours to anyone looking to visit one of the most beautiful parts of the world.

My husband and I went on a 8 day tour with a guide from Africa Zim and everything was absolutely flawless. Our guide, Muto, was courteous, yet funny and always on time to pick us up and take us to different activities put together by Africa Zim. Initially I had my reservations as their website wasn't easily accesible and I felt that generally there was a lack of communication. But they were able to address my concerns via email and the itinerary they put together worked out really well. If I could make any suggestions, it would be a good idea to send a follow up email to customers a month before their arrival just to reconfirm the final payment and airport transfer. One other thing I suggested to Muto was to add an extra night in Elephant Sands as that was one of the highlights of our trip. All in all, I would definitely recommend Africa Zim to our friends and family!

From booking the tour and coordinating with office staff with Africa Zim Travel everything went smoothly. They answered all our questions when we had them. Always a very timely response. Our driver Pamela met us at the airport when we arrived in Victoria Falls. We were taken to Bayette Lodge which was excellent and the food was great while we stayed there. Everyone at the lodge was polite, friendly and the service was great. Our first activity was the sunset cruise on the Zambezi River and it was wonderful, all the drinks you could have and yummy snacks! We saw lots of elephants, hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife. The next day we went to Victoria Falls where Mackson was our guide there. Very informative. The next day we went to Chobe National Park and stayed at the Chobe Safari Bush Lodge. The rooms were excellent, food was fantastic and we went on two game drives, saw lots of animals. Also went on a sunset Cruise which was my favorite of the whole trip. Saw so many Buffalo, hippos, elephants, Impala, water monitor, snakes, many birds and too many other animals to mention. After 2 days we went to Elephant Sands Reserve. I had read other reviews on TripAdvisor and had some concerns about the place being run down. But to my surprise it was very clean, the tents were roomy and the beds were comfortable. We saw lots of elephants up close. The next day we went to Maun and stayed at the Maun Lodge. Again, the accommodations were wonderful, clean and comfortable beds and excellent food and entertainment in the evenings. While there we did the Okavango Delta morocco tour. OT was our driver for the day. He did a great job driving us down some very wild roads, and waited for us while we did our boat tour. OT also packed a nice lunch for us to have while we were out for the day. He waited for us so when we were ready to go back we could do so. This was a nice paced trip and I would not change any of the places where we stayed. We did go to a Boma dinner one night in Victoria Falls. Our table was in a great location for the viewing of the show, but the food was mediocre and there was too much noise. But it did celebrate the African culture.

What an amazing experience, we had the time of our lives
We we're picked up in Victoria Falls by Andy, our lovely and knowledgeable driver/guide who taught us so much about this part of Africa and it's culture.
We drove to Kasane and Chobe where we had two morning drives, an afternoon drive and a river cruise. There were elephants, giraffs, impalas, kudus, hippos and buffalos galore. There were a number of colourful birds and we got to see lions with cubs, lions playing with prey (a baboon) and even a leopard.
The next stop was Elephant Sands were you can sit by the fire and watch the elphants up close. This was an amazi g experience although the smell could be quite interresting. And by the way, in winter, bring warm clothes. At night the temperature went down to about 5 degrees celsius and there is no heating in the tents.
The last part of the trip was in Maun and the Okavango delta. On the way there, there were a lot of animals along the road, impalas and elephants and a large herd of zebras. When we got to Maun we had a land back afternoon and evening before going on a mokoro (canoo) trip in the delta combined with a walking safari. This was such a peaceful and different way of seeing the animals. The walking safari was maybe the only letdown on the whole trip. We did not see many animals except some zebras and wilderbeest from a distanse, but the mokoro trip made up for it.
The accomodation on the trip was also very nice and the staff at the lodges were great.
Thanks to Andy for making this trip such a wonderful experience and to Pamela for organizing everything. Thank you so much.
