About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- shankam20240 contributionsVictoria FallsFrom the time we were picked up at the Victoria Falls airport to the time we were dropped off at the airport our vacation in Victoria Fall was curated beautifully by Wenhau Tours. Our host and ground handler Wengayi together with Cannan were excellent with our accommodation, sightseeing tours and the choice of restaurants. Our time in Victoria Falls was well planned allowing us to absorb the beauty of the country. we (7 friends from Sri Lanka), had a memorable time couldn’t have asked for anything better. Thank you !!Written May 14, 2024
- Dreamer318218376230 contributionsA drive by not really a tourToo expensive, too short and lovely guides. Book early or you will be cheated of your time. The balancing Rocks was the best part!Written April 24, 2024
- GrandTour206766897350 contributionsGreat sights of Harare and surrounding areasThis was a very good tour. I saw sights of Harare and the surrounding area that I wouldn’t have any other way. Craig and Jerry were amazing!Written December 8, 2023
- DayTrip298417111600 contributionsTerribly mismanaged, never ever againI was really looking forward to my 2 day trip to Great Zimbabwe especially since I was flying up to Harare just for this excursion. However, I only learned less than 24 hours before the tour’s scheduled departure that it would be canceled due to insufficient number of passengers who booked. The communication is lacking as well. I wouldn’t have found out if I hadn’t called the day before to confirm my pick up location and time. I didn’t see any communication from the tour operator via email or phone. While the tour sales agency Marriott Bonvoy Activities and Viator both share part of the blame, it is ultimately incumbent on Wenhau to communicate proactively and directly with the traveler. When asked for solutions, the operator proposed doubling the price of an already exorbitantly priced tour just to continue. This practice felt very discriminatory towards solo travelers and did not seem very fair given that it was not my fault that they decided to risk it and see if there would be more bookings.Written November 5, 2023

- 012traveler0 contributionsExcelllentIt was good, that we not only saw the highlights of Zimbabwe, but also went through regions, where the common people live. Our guides, Trish and Andy, were very friendly and competent and could answer most of our questions.Written July 4, 2023
- I5624IFkarend0 contributionsGreat way to explore HarareThe tour was a great way to see the city and learn about the area. My tour guide, Trish, was very friendly and did a great job showing the highlights as well as focusing on aspects that I was more interested in.Written June 7, 2023
- 462michaelj0 contributionsHigh-quality Zimbabwe travel logistics service with the personal touchIf you are looking for someone to organise your travel logistics in Zimbabwe, Wengayi is THE MAN. We jokingly called him Chief because he knows everyone, has amazing contacts, can make almost any problem disappear with a single phone call. Travelling in Zim is not without its occasional speedbumps so you need someone like Wengayi to help navigate and ensure that your eyes are focused only on the beauty of this country and her people. Wengayi organised transfers, hotels, Vic Falls tours, boma dinner, sunset cruises, special (unexpected) upgrades and most important of all, his sense of humour and warmth belies his professionalism. Cannot recommend these services highly enough.Written May 15, 2023
- tdwtdw0 contributionsOverpriced tour that is not good value for the moneyIt was entirely too expensive for the amount of time it lasted and for what was provided. There were additional entry fees for the Balancing Rocks and to enter the museum. Those fees should be included considering the high price of the tour. Lunch at the end was also not included. Again, it should have been based upon the extremely high price of the tour. I would not recommend that others take the tour. It could have been done easier independently.Written March 2, 2023
- Susan M0 contributionsInteresting and great guidesOur tour and guides were fantastic, warm, friendly and full of knowledge, it was great to see all the Harare has to offer outside the city, and great to hear about the history of Zimbabwe. Be prepared that Harare it’s self is quite declined.Written May 4, 2022

- JCWLosAngeles0 contributionsWonderful Guide in HarareI returned with my family after a 44 year absence to visit Harare where I grew up. From the response to all my initial questions, I knew I would be in good hands. Wengayi managed to fit in all the personal spots I wanted to visit even though a flight cancellation cut our time short, and looked after us from airport pick up to airport drop off. He is enthusiastic and knowledgeable and our interesting conversations ranged from life in Zimbabwe, to politics and history. He is a fabulous guide and wish we could have been with him longer! My family and I highly recommend him.Written May 18, 2019
- tangentandcord0 contributionsAn accidental treatOur main intention was to visit Victoria falls. Since the direct flights were full we ended up spending two afternoons in Harare. Our tour guide Mr. Nkuem Mthunzi, introduced us to Mr. Nhau Wengayi, his past mentor and current associate to help us make the best of the time at Harare. Mr. Wengayi is a mature and highly experienced tour operator and guide. He adopts a highly flexible approach. He is able to fine tune a visitor’s activity depending on when his incoming flight actually lands. He is able to get bargains from hotels and places of interest alike and is happy to pass on the benefit to his clients. He received us at Harare airport after we cleared immigration and customs; took us to our hotel and was ready to drive us to Kuimba bird sanctuary. This outfit adopts orphaned or injured irds, nurses them in captivity and trains them to fly. Their philosophy is, “ if during the flight exercise a bird flies away to live free, that is what we were wishing for all the time”. They show visitors around cages and have a flight session every evening. Mr. Wengayi took us back tour hotel and was at hand bang on time to take us to our early morning flight to Victoria falls. He met us again at Harare airport on our return from Victoria falls, found a place for us to stay at attractive rates, took us to wild is life. A facility that rescues baby animals and ensures their survival He took us back to the hotel and waited while we had a short nap before getting to the airport late in the night. He even called our room to make sure we did not oversleep and miss our flight. He was talking abour retiring soon. In the interest of future visitors, I hope he postpones the dayWritten February 10, 2019
- lindamN9190RF0 contributionsVictoria Falls and Chobe National ParkAn amazing trip to see the Victoria Falls and a vast array of animals and birds at Chobe National Park. The large herds of elephants and the rainbows over the falls were a particular highlight. Stayed at the lovely and peaceful A’Zambezi river lodge right on the river where we also enjoyed a lovely sunset cruise to see heaps of hippos. Had breakfast watching the monkeys and occasionally a warthog. Wengayi and the team were just fantastic and we felt very safe - highly recommended!Written January 27, 2019
- IonicBond710 contributionsWonderful trip to Victoria Falls and Chobe national parkHad a wonderful trip to Vic Falls and Chobe national park in Botswana with Wengayi and his team. Wengayi is a great guide - it was great to learn from him not only about the sites but also the history of the area, the people and the politics. Everything worked very smoothly and efficiently and we felt very safe despite some of the current problems in Zimbabwe. The falls were just spectacular and I have never seen some many animals in the wild as we did at Chobe including thousands of elephants, impalas, baboons, monkeys, warthogs, a small number of giraffes and an vast array of birds. Want to come back and do a longer trip!Written January 27, 2019

Comming in and out of Zimbabwe can be completed for many people. Wengayi has direct knowledge and connections to allow him to come into the secure airport locations and be your personal liason between customs and you. Absolutely made the process easy. Due to Covid19, on our way out we had to overnight in Harare. Wengayi arranged to have the PRC test performed at our hotel, then took us on a personal tour of the city. Thank you Wengayi!
