About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- elsidla0 contributionsThis is the best man to show you the best of TunisiaI have just finished a really excellent nine day solo tour of Tunisia with Jamel. We visited all of the best sites in the country over almost 2,500 miles with Jamel doing all of the driving. Jamel is very friendly, easy going, experienced and knowledgeable and he was able to customise the tour to meet my needs including my preference to not be surrounded by other tourists and for my evenings alone. He is very keen to do his utmost to show the best of his homeland. He is also a very good and safe driver. During our long journey we never seemed to be short of conversation over a very wide range of subjects and even though he doesn’t realise it his command of English is exceptional, much better than many of the guides I have been in the company of before. It felt like travelling with a friend which really made for a memorable experience. Jamel is likely to offer you one of his standard multi day tours so I recommend you to study it carefully and add other areas of interest such as the Bardo Museum which shouldn’t be missed. Also, if you enjoy a full itinerary make sure you start at 8am because 9am starts can limit opportunity. Jamel lets you book your own accommodation, which is great, but he has a rather irritating habit of telling you when he thinks the hotel you have booked is not very good. When asked why he didn’t recommend hotels he replied ‘because you didn’t ask!’ so, MAKE SURE YOU ASK!Written September 15, 2024

- ashamim0 contributionsBespoke tour of TunisJamel designed a four day whirlwind tour of Tunisia for my wife and me through Carthage, Sidi Bou Said, Kairouan, Douz, Matmata, Sidi Driss, El Jem and Sousse. He is truly a great guy, fun, patient, timely and flexible. He was knowledgeable about all the sites. His English is excellent. I would highly, highly recommend him for your trip to Tunis!Written May 31, 2024
- innesab0 contributionsExcellent guide for multi-day private tours in TunisiaWe just finished 10 days private tour in Tunisia. Jamel helped us to plan and organize the tour. He was our transporter and guide. Jamel is a very knowledgeable and experienced guide. No questions have been unanswered, no agreements have been unfulfilled. He was always on time, very proactive in addressing our needs, and, at the same time, was giving us enough time and room to consume the information and enjoy the scenery. I strongly recommend Jamel if you are looking for a guide for Tunisia multi-day tour.Written November 12, 2023
- X2157DPcarolinec0 contributionsAmazing experience of TunisiaMy sister-in-law, who is a travel agent, booked a four day tour of the major sites in and around Tunis with Jamel who was absolutely wonderful. First of all, he is an excellent driver. He maneuvered his way through the chaotic traffic with skill and patience making the daily road trips to the various sites pleasant and stress-free rides. Jamel is very knowledgeable and way he explained the history of the archaeological sites was fascinating and made them come alive. It was amazing to discover just how many changes the territories of modern day Tunisia have undergone over the millennia. Jamel is very flexible and adapted the tour according to the weather and our individual wishes within the possible and even organized a wine tasting afternoon at our request. He was also so kind as to organize a mechoui with grilled lamb meat and salad to accompany the wine. Of course this was extra but it was well worth it and perfectly rounded off the end of our 4-day tour. As well as speaking Arabic, he is very fluent in English and French which we conversed in and also mentioned that he is fluent in Italian. So to anyone looking to truly experience Tunisia, I highly recommend Jamel who is one of the best tour guides I have ever had during my travels. Thank you Jamel for making the trip to Tunisia such a memorable experience.Written June 10, 2023
- 725simenm0 contributionsDay trips from TunisWe did two day-trips with Jamel from Tunis, and both days were great! He took us to Kariouan, El Jem and Monastir on day 1, and to Dougga and Zaghouane on the next. Very knowledgeable and great English skills. Safe, reliable and a great guide for any historic site in Tunisia.Written March 6, 2023

Jamal added a lot to our experience in Tunisia , he took my two daughters and I all around his beautiful country.
He was very polite, spoke good English , very knowledgeable with the history of all the locations we visited , knows where and when to take us to any famous sights , and where to stop to rest on the long drive , no problem with his drive at all and in addition to that he was very generous and nice with the girls , got us a lot of tunisian snacks and tried his best to keep the girls engaged and listened to all of our requests .

Before booking Jamel, my husband and I considered several options for touring: self-directed/self-driving, pre-packaged private tour, or a customizable tour by Jamel. I am really glad we selected the third option. My reasons are:
1. Jamel drove, making the trip more relaxing for us
2. Jamel knew the best sites to see and for how long
3. Jamel adapted to us – particularly my need to stop the car and take pictures of seemingly common things like camels, sheep and voting ballots.
4. Jamel, and the people he introduced us to at various sites, shared stories of themselves, their culture, and their history. This last point is what makes Jamel the perfect tour guide.
After touring with Jamel, I want to shout from the roof tops to all intrepid travelers, “Come, meet the amazing people of Tunisia. Their history is deep, their hearts are broad and the countryside expansive.”

Dear, 4 questions:
1. for the first day, the time that we arrive TUN international airport is around 1pm, could we catch up the schedule of first date trip?
2. if accommodation is included, how much is the additional price? Or could you quote the price for 2 person 7 days (the same schedule) for me?
3.when is the estimated end-up time for the last date trip? will we end up the trip in TUN international airport?
4.there is elderly person (75 years old) in my trip, could we start the daily trip at 6-7am and end up at 5-6 pm from second date?
thanks
