About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- dcg29290 contributionsGreat Tours - One Stop Shopping for Tunis/Sousse SitesWe did three Saharasky tours: a) half-day Dougga tour with Bouhedine from Tunis (Medina); b) full-day Kairouan and El Jem tour with Nour from Sousse; and c) a half-day Carthage tour with Nour (from Sidi Bou Said).(Kais was our driver for all three.) We also had the company arrange for cars from Tunis to/from Sousse. Both guides were very knowledgeable and good company and the vehicles, meals and other practicalities were all handled smoothly (not always easy during Ramadan). Also have to give Bouhedine a shout out for helping us collect our missing bags from the airport (which we were told were still in Paris). We couldn’t have gotten them from the lost luggage locker without her!Written March 22, 2025
- K2742EQmanojs0 contributionsSimply the best!!!Really good experience. The tour guide Mr. Mahmoudh had deeply rooted understanding of history of all the places we visited. He really made this trip very interesting with facts and stories that made this trip a memorable and enticing one. His articulation and usage of terms were top notch. Strongly recommend this if are on your solo trip as you get to tour with people from various backgrounds who are as curious as you.Written March 17, 2025
- rajbanisetti0 contributionsGreat trip , enjoyableGreat trip, lot to learn, know and enjoy the experience. Definitely recommend The duration is perfect We get to see lot in a day Thank you very much.Written March 15, 2025
- 718nathanl0 contributionsGreat trip from HammamatVery good driver. Very helpful and even though English was not fully comprehensive. It really was a great experience with good value for money. He arrived early and didn't place limits on times and no issue if the time ran slightly over. Very flexibleWritten February 27, 2025
- 991Manny0 contributionsStar Wars Location Tour by incredible guide MustaphaMustapha was my guide for my solo trip to see specific Star Wars locations in/around Tozeur. His Star Wars knowledge of these locations made my trip very memorable. The itinerary was comprehensive, Mos Espos, Camel Neck, Mides, Chott El Jerid (Lars Homestead) per the program. What sets Mustapha apart is that he took me to a little known location outside of Tozeur that was a panoramic view of a canyon used in the original New Hope film seeing it from two perspectives (top view and a 1km walk inside the canyon). It was difficult to get there by 4x4, but he knew how to navigate the roads. Amazing. My honest opinion is that if you would like an English friendly guide/driver who specializes in Star Wars, Mustapha is a must pick. His WhatsApp is +21628402923 and he is willing to answer any questions you have regarding potential Star Wars related ideas.Written February 27, 2025
- 991Manny0 contributionsExcellent one day tour of Tozeur plus Star Wars spotsI went solo for this one day trip. The tour was action packed and hit the main locations per the itinerary. I loved Mides (so close to the canyon), Mos Espos (go now before the weather and Mother Nature reclaims the movie set), the Camel Neck, and the Lars Homestead (rebuilt in 2011). The ride was very comfortable and Saad was a good driver, wanting to please making sure you had enough time in the different places. Note that Saad doesn’t speak English, but we made the best of the trip by using Google translate. As mentioned he was very attentive and friendly.Written February 27, 2025
- rosya910 contributionsGreat tour, worth the traffic jams 👌I booked so that I could join a group tour as I find solo travelling daunting enough. Sadly, the group option was not available and I had to upgrade to a private tour. No regrets though. Bouhdid and Mr Mohammed the driver were highly professional and nice. Lunch was pretty much as expected at a popular corner cafe. My personal favourites were the coffee shop in the markets and carthage ( roman baths were atmospheric). I wish I'd seen flamingoes near the lake but I was pleased to hear they come to Tunisia often. Perhaps I'll come again with a huge suitcase next time for all the amazing local products to buy. Thanks againWritten February 26, 2025

Our day with him was simply amazing I would highly recommend himWritten February 1, 2025
- EXPS240 contributionscarthage is aliveit was a great experience , we had a wonderful time. it was amazing to know more about history where everything happened. totalmente recomendado, eso si, no un lunes, ya que el museo de bardo está cerrado ese día. dorra, the guide, was very kind and patience, she had all the answer for us and took us to great places where to buy and eat . haithem, the driver, was very helpful and polite, he drove safe and calm. sidi bou said a top place to visit or even stay, such a very nice town. excelente actividad para la visita a Túnez.Written January 29, 2025
- Haja K0 contributionsVery good and memorable experience. The Saharansky agency is the best. From the start till the end. They picked me up on time from my accomodation as planned, very punctual. 9:00 is 9:00. Not a minute late. Then once arrived to desert, i ride a personal camel. At lunch time, we arrived at our camp where a personal tent was ready for me. The camp is huge with comfortable facilities. The afternoon we went out again on camel until sunset in the desert. Everything was good. Thank Mounir, Marzouk, Amda & Mourish( the 🐫)Written January 26, 2025
- 646GeoffS0 contributionsDesert WildernessWe selected this tour to get a unique glimpse of remote Saharan desert wilderness and in comfort. It was well organised throughout. The driver & then 4X4 guide were amiable & efficient. The drive into & around the desert was just what we were hoping for & we got some wonderful photos & memories, alone in the vast wilderness of blue skies & keen winds with shifting sands. The lunches in Matmata were good & the drivers were always at our service to stop whenever. The camp itself was strange: it certainly IS remote & very well positioned with great views up the sands for sunrise & sunset. THe staff were friendly & helpful & the food was indeed delicious. The camp itself is NOT however LUXURY! We had it to ourselves which added to the feeling of remoteness but the tent was very cold so we asked for gas to get the heater on for an additional sum. The bar & restaurant were tatty, stained & faded &, worst of all, we were awoken at 4.30am in the morning as one of the staff blared out very loud music from his company 4X4. Nobody stopped him & only apologised at breakfast. A bad end to our stay & needless stupidity! We were both glad that we took this trip but it could so be improved & the camp was certainly not luxurious!Written January 26, 2025
- Camper319248605200 contributionsThe guide makes or breaks this tour. We were lucky! My girlfriend and I went on a 3-day trek into the Sahara desert from Douz over New Year's Eve. Our goal was a silent, relaxing start to 2025 close to nature. All of our expectations were fulfilled. Everything was perfectly planned and executed. The food was amazing, and the accommodation was nice and exactly what you would expect. However, the success of the entire tour depends on your guide. We were lucky to have Amir. He is a young Bedouin who is one of the few people who still lives as a true nomad. You can sense his love for the Sahara. He shared many stories about his passion for the desert and his dedication to preserving it. Unlike some other guides, Amir treats his camels like his own children. While some guides treat their animals poorly (even hitting them). Amir's gentle care for his camels was wonderful to witness. This was extremely important to us, as we wanted our vacation to be as sustainable as possible. If you're planning a similar trip, ask for Amir - he's the best choice you can make.Written January 8, 2025
- drsksingh0 contributionsSmall group tour from Hammamet to Carthage, Medina Tunis, Bardo museum and Sidi Bou SaidBouhdid our guide and James our driver picked us pick 5min early. Great start. Boudid is very friendly and genuinely looked after our small group all day. He is very knowledgeable but even more so passionate about his countries heritage. It’s quite infectious! The tour itinerary felt just right. A full day of sight seeing without feeling rushed. Boudid took us to many shops which is staffed on these tours but neither he nor most of the shop keepers made us feel uncomfortable when we didn’t show interest. The lunch was a Tunisian wrap which e all enjoyed. The car was a people’s carrier and we were a group of 5. Tunisian history is fascinating and Bouhdid’s guidance was very much appreciated. We ended the tour at picturesque Sidi Bou Said. After a drizzly start to the day, we enjoyed a glorious sunset from its viewing point overlooking the bay of Tunis.Written January 5, 2025

Very well organized and a great price. Mohammad was an excellent guide, and his knowledge of the Roman ruins was impressive. I had great drivers all days. The camp in the Sahara was beautiful, with kind and attentive hosts. I booked a private tour and so was not rushed at any part of the tour, as well as the guide being willing to make changes based on my likes/interests.
I also was able to add an additional day at the end of the tour without any issue. The office staff were great working with me to meet my schedule and needs. I highly recommend.

We did a 5 days tour between Tozeur and Douz Desert and we had an unforgettable time. Our guide Malek was perfect, kind and always smiling he was able to speak French, English and Spanish and he knows the region history, always adding interesting facts when visiting places.
We love taking pictures and he was very patient and helpful to show best landscapes. We will probably visit Tunisia once again and for sure he will be our guide again.
Merci Malek, Merci Saharansky Tours

Hi, I'm thinking about joining a group tour or a private tour.
I have found 6day-tour on 'travelsun' site.
I was wondering if your plan includes most of the places they visit.
If not, I would like to know if you can organize a plan similar to that.
I would just like to see most of Tunisia.
Thanks

Thinking about a visit in June after Ramadan. Would you pick us up at airport? Drop off in Sousse at the end. Best airport to depart from Sousse? Four people in our group.
