About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 350ericay0 contributionsInformative and entertaining tour!I highly recommend this tour. Jiji was a great guide, giving us tons of information on each site, while keeping us entertained the entire time. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. Unless you already know a lot about Carthage already, it would be very difficult to understand each site without a tour, and this is a great option!Written February 4, 2025
- Rachel S0 contributionsVery informativeCycle tour was amazing. Our guide ‘Gee Gee’ was extremely knowledgeable, going above and beyond to show us as much as much possibleWritten August 7, 2024
- W9862PSjosephm0 contributionsOutstanding Guided E-Bike Tour Through HistoryOur guide GG was the best. Very knowledgeable and thorough! First time on e-bikes and it was fun and easy. I would suggest getting helmets as part of the tour to cuts through traffic. GG gave us a complete history of Tunisia from the Phoenicians, Berbers, Romans and Greeks right up through the Turks and Christians, from the Crusades to the colonization by France. He also gave us a brief history of the current culture and climate of Tunisia. He was spectacular and answered every question enthusiastically. The tour covers a lot of ground on the e-bikes, I believe GG and the E bikes are essential for a solid experience of the ancient city of Carthage.Written July 30, 2024
- Susan F0 contributionsJibrane was very informed and helpful. E bikes were great! He talks very fast though / information overload a bit. GotJibrane was very informed and helpful. He talked a bit fast so it was information overload a bit. A plasticized card with important dates of the several empires that ruled in Tunisia would help - hard to keep track of who’s who when. Plus guide doesn’t have to repeat dates all the time. Got off to a late start as the girl thot had the key to e-bikes overslept. But they compensated by giving us free T- shirts. Jibrane was friendly and a joy to work with.Written June 12, 2024
- Roving2923560 contributionsA fabulous tour of Ancient Carthage with GigiMy wife and I recently went on a walking tour of Carthage with Le Lemon Tours. Our guide was Gigi and he was fantastic. Excellent knowledge and super friendly. I didn’t tell him but I was there to do research for my PhD on Ancient Carthage. I wanted to hear everything from Gigi without him knowing that I may have already known what he was telling us. He is such an excellent guide that I learned new information from him having already studied Carthage for over a year. Gigi was king enough to order a taxi for us to get to our hotel and even waited for the taxi to arrive.Written March 1, 2024
- H3022YMashleyb0 contributionsCycling - Fun and Educational! Highly recommendOur bike tour of Carthage was one of the highlights of our Tunis trip. I am not a cyclist (my husband is), and we were both completely happy. I loved that we had e-bikes and kept it on boost for most of our tour. My cyclist hubby wanted to work a little more, so kept his off. Our guide, Jiji, was awesome. He spoke English very well and was very informative. We love history and asked lots of questions that he was able to manage with no problem. It was just the three of us since we were there in January and not a lot of tourists visit that time of the year. It was the perfect day (20 C, 70 F) and we had most of the sites to our selves with few other visitors at all. Most of the tour was through residential neighborhoods with little car or pedestrian traffic, Be prepared to deal with some crazy Tunis traffic on the way back, but what's Tunis without some crazy drivers?!Written January 27, 2024
- patrickmR5651GS0 contributionsPerfect way to see CarthageThe perfect way to see Carthage. Our guide was friendly and informative, and the ride was fairly relaxed along quiet back streets. We visited all of the main historical sites including the Punic Port and Baths of Antoninus. The sites are located over a vast area so cycling is a fantastic way to get around. The Le Lemon Tour office, the start and end point for the tour, is easy to access via taxi from both the city centre and the coastal towns. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Tunis.Written December 2, 2023
- ravery5310 contributionsLovely tour that combines physical exercise, history, sustainability, and outdoor enjoyment! This was a standout guided tour! I had iffy experiences with other tours in Tunisia, but Le Lemon gave me a great experience with its standout tour guide and itinerary. Cycling around the Carthage Archeological Sites is a perfect idea becaue of the nature of the Carthage sites --they're spread far apart, which makes it hard to cover all the major sites on foot. Le Lemon's bicycles makes the experience far more convenient and it's also lovely experience to cycle outdoors in the perfect weather. Our tour guide Jibrane was friendly, upbeat, and knowledgeable. He's also a polyglot and was able to converse with me in Chinese. He was great to talk to and gave us a very comprehensive overview of not just Carthaginian history, but also general Tunisian history. I felt really immersed in the experience. The price was also very reasonable.Written November 18, 2023

- saskiav4990 contributionsSuper Nice experience, highly recommendedWe’ve seen so much of the beautiful Carthage. We really liked the fact that we visited some places the big tourist busses didn’t visit. The guide told us many interesting things about the history in a fun way. The bikes were fine, in fact we would have loved to do some more biking. Just one advice; start earlier then 10 o’clock, because of the heat.Written September 15, 2023

- 462shanym0 contributionsDon't miss out!Lemon tours is the best way to feel like a local. Moving around from one shade to another while exploring all the hidden gems and taking shortcuts to avoid up hill and traffic. Even it was on short notice, and already mid-day, our knowledgeable proffesor teacher (guide is an understatement) AbdelKarim helped us discover a 3000 years old culture which made our Tunis trip meaningful. It was fascinating to see and learn about the melting pot of traditions in one place. Tunis is a very unique country in the Arab world, and inspirational for openness and tolerance, where Jewish, Christian and Muslim history comes together. Wish we had more time with Abdelkarim. The tour was really nice ! Jiji was very knowledgeable and explained everything, so it was easy to understand and you can tell that he does it often.
Definitely consider the 7€ upcharge for an e-bike, as the tour also includes cycling up a mountain, which can be very exhausting ( you will break out in a little sweat, trust me ) so maybe also bring sportswear ?
It was really nice and its very relaxing to cycle inbetween the spots and just enjoy the scenery and the breeze.

We had a great guided tour with Gigi. He showed us the highlights available on the Ancient Carthage day pass ticket. We had read about ancient Carthage before our visit and he answered questions that we had about the sites and the history.
Most of the sites are extremely ruined, and not very well signed, so it was very helpful to have Gigi describe how the sites would have looked in their prime. He had some artistic renderings to paint a clearer picture. I particularly appreciated his interpretation of Tophet, as there were no signs there at all.
I recommend the bike tour if possible, as you get to visit the ruin of the Roman forum and ancient Carthaginian houses on top of the hill.

Great visit with our guide Gigi, very friendly and knowledgeable of the sites visited. We went in early May, a bit before the high season so the locations were not overcrowded. The itinerary is very nice throughout the neighbourhood but a bit hilly. I recommend booking electric bikes. Great value for the price!

The tour provided by the tour guide was very thorough and knowledgeable. The guide was able to teach us the history of Carthage and answer many questions.
We booked to have e-bikes as we had a group of people in their 60’s and the weather was very hot, unfortunately the tour vendor could not give us the e-bikes and we had to use the normal bikes after paying an extra $10 CAD per person to have e-bikes. We also arrived and the bikes were not prepared for us. They were all covered in dirt and we had to pump up our own tires. During the bike tour we had one bike have the chain fall off, one bike that wouldn’t change gears, and one that got a flat tire. We had to leave one person behind for a while so that the tour company could drop off a new bike for them (which then was an e-bike).
The tour was very hot and there were a lot of issues with the bikes, but we did still enjoy the locations we went to and the guide himself was excellent. The girl working at the location was also very nice and was able to call cabs for us and tried to help with the bike issues the best she could.

Thank you very much for your review.
We deeply apologize for the e-bikes misunderstanding, we have not been notified of your upgrade and the issue is currently being investigated by GYG and the reservation system we use. We don't have many of them and most were booked elsewhere.
We are really sorry about the dust on some bikes and if we knew that accepting your help to pump the tires (that deflate rather quickly due to the heat) would inconvinience you to this extent we wouldn't have done that.
Please note that the flat tire happened while on tour, as shattered glass on the streets aren't really rare we must actively avoid them.
As you said it yourself the weather was very hot and thus we are exceptionnally on minimum staff, but we still did our best to accomodate you and tend to your requests. We are really sorry the tour wasn't a 100% perfect and we will dilligently work on improving the issues you stated here so thank you very much for your review.

We took a bike tour through the wonderful city of Tunis with Le Lemon Tour.
We were guided by Mr. Jibrane Dhaouadi with a tourist and cultural bike tour through the neighborhood of Cartage, his precious explanations on the historical information of the ancient city of Cartago.
The bicycles and safety equipment were in excellent condition of maintenance and conservation.
I recommend this best experience in Tunis - Tunisia.
Thank you so much Le Lemon Tour.

Visiting family in Tunisia, we contacted "Le Lemon Tour" to enjoy a guided bicycle tour of the archaeological points of interest in Carthage.
We did this visit as a group and we had Gigi as our guide. In addition, another person from the agency accompanied us at all times to do the work of cutting off traffic and enabling us to do the route without fear of traffic, as well as monitor the bicycles and repair/change them if necessary.
The visit can be done with a touring bike, mountain bike, or with electric assistance. Gigi made it very easy for us to understand the places we visited, telling us a lot of details and information about them.
As for negative points, we can indicate that Gigi loves what she tells the group so much that she went over the established time for the guided tour. For me it was not a problem, but be careful if you have appointments or reservations after the tour.
Thanks for your work. We really liked the guided tour.

It was great to cycle around Carthage sites. It makes a lot of sense to do it by bike, the sites are a bit far to do by foot and it's more fun than driving. The cycling is not difficult. We used mountain bikes; city bike are also fine as long as you have different speeds.
We've learnt a lot during the tour. Our guide was great, very passionate, knowledgeable and fun. It was definitely one of the top highlight of our trip to Tunis. I highly recommend!
The guide spoke in French and he also speaks Italian. Tours can be done in English too. All the staff was extra friendly and helpful.
