About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- MR_KIM_GR0 contributionsAn awesome experienceI had one of the best experiences with Habari adventure. Our 10 days stay in Tanzania was nothing short of excitement and adventure. This would not have been possible without our guides Steve. Our guides were like walking encyclopedia, with immense knowledge of Tanzania, wildlife and everything one needs to know. We kept bugging them with curious questions and they were so happy detailing out interesting facts to us. The safari every day was so rewarding, we saw lions, leopard, cheetah, elephants, zebras, antelopes, gazzels, wild boars, warthogs, buffaloes, wilderbeasts girafes, hyenas and so many more animals and birds. The guides knew exactly where to take us for best sighting of game. Each and every lodge we stayed at, the safari, everything was top notch. People were extremely hospitable, warm and welcoming. We danced and sang and enjoyed our stay to the fullest. If I ever return to Tanzania, I would chose Habari Adventure without a second thought.Written February 16, 2025
- dstudiod0 contributionsThe most incredible experienceWe did 10 days Tanzania Safari tour with Habari adventure. Steve our tour guide / driver came to pick us up at Arusha Kilimanjaro airport. Besides plane being late he waited for us patiently. He welcomed us with big smile and cold drinks much needed on hot day. We had best experience with Steve. I am a nature lover and had high expectations of seeing all the animals. I shared my expectations with Steve and he made sure that I got to see and spend enough time taking pictures and videos of all the wildlife . Steve shared lot of informations about all the animals, birds, bugs ,Plants in the national park and the Masai people. He is very knowledgeable tour guide and excellent driver. He loves nature and also is writing books in his free time on birds. I would highly recommend him for your visitWritten February 13, 2025
- carolrV8330KW0 contributionsBest experience of my lifeThis January we did the Machame 7 day climb, followed by a 6 day safari with Habari adventure. From the first contact to the final drop off at the airport, we had nothing to worry about. For the climb, Habari adventure provided us with an excellent crew. The 5 guides, led by Leon, did everything to bring us to the summit in best conditions. King MK the cook was amazing, there are no words for his skills. Everyone of our porters had a big contribution in our succeeding, because of their positivity and smiles that were always present. During the subsequent safari our driver/guide Hillary showed his great experience in locating the sometimes almost invisible wildlife. Thanks to him, we could make some amazing pictures of The Big 5 and lots of other animals and birds. The glamping tents accommodation during this safari through Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro were very nice. It was a once in a lifetime experience which we shall cherish forever.Written February 12, 2025
- directord20230 contributionsHABARI ADVENTURE THE ROCKWe had a wonderful experience from the minute Innocent picked us up at the airport. The trip was well organized with unique planning tailored to our family’s wishes and much more. The itinerary allowed us to see all our desired sites including the great migration, Ngorongoro, the big 5, and more animals than we could have imagined. Hillary was the best guide with great expertise and knowledge, as well as welcoming us to Tanzania. Our two daughters (9 and 12) were already asking to go back and if we think Hillary could be our guide again. This is before we even left the airport. They enjoyed his sense of humor, knowledge and kind heart. This trip created many special memories for our family and Tanzania has a special place in our heart. We look forward to going back!Written February 9, 2025
- Zajaczek0 contributionsUnforgettable SafariWe booked two adventures with Habari but Safari deserves a separate review. We booked a three day camping safari (Park Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara). We have been picked up by our guide/driver Hillary from our hotel. We had a Safari jeep all to ourselves which was a very nice surprise. Hillary was very professional and knowledgeable. Spending three days in his company was truly a great pleasure. Our priority was to see a lion being on the safari before (different park with different company) we have been unlucky to see any. Hillary delivered beyond the expectations. Not only we saw lions but all big five :-) We couldn't have been more happy. For three nights we stayed in the Heaven nature campsite. The campsite is basic but has everything you need. Izrael was making sure we were happy and looked after. Delicious food and a very friendly atmosphere. As always Habari delivered a perfectly organised adventure. We didn't manage to go to Serengeti so we will be booking that with Habari again and hopefully we will have more laughs with Hillary.Written February 3, 2025
- Zajaczek0 contributionsKilimanjaro adventure with the best team😃⛰️I spent a lot of time researching companies looking for a local company. Habari was constantly being recommended by a lot of people on Kilimanjaro Fb groups. I emailed Stan and not only was he the nicest person to talk to he had the best offer. We booked a 7 day Machame and a 3 day Safari. We have been picked up from the airport even though we arrived a day earlier. We met our guide Oscar at the hotel for the equipment check. Everything was perfectly organised. We had two amazing guides with us Oscar and Innocent looking after our wellbeing ( we had twice a day medical check). We had the best chef Novat cooking delicious meals every day( it's amazing what he can cook on the mountain) You just can't lose appetite because the food is too good. Osman our waiter was a pleasure to be around and greeted us with the biggest smile. The whole crew including (Islam, Hussain and the rest of our porters) was just amazing, highly professional and a big asset to the company. It's nice to know you are supporting a local company who does invest in the future of the local kids.We had a amazing time with them and we wouldn't succeed without them. BIG ASANTE SANA. We definitely will be booking more adventures with them in the future.Written February 3, 2025
- felicianl20250 contributionsBeyond AmazingIf I don’t say thank you, I’ll be missing out. For the incredible value of your service, Habari Adventure, I honestly feel I should pay you more. I have a big debt of gratitude that I can’t fully repay, but because being happy with a great company is my top priority, I ask you to consider me. I won’t be late to return to Tanzania, and I look forward to being with you again soon.Written January 25, 2025
- felicianl20250 contributionsSimply the BestI chose Habari Adventure with some doubts, but I don’t regret that choice for a moment. In fact, I would have blamed myself if those doubts had stopped me from choosing them. With the long-term happiness they’ve created for me, I feel like a true bond has been formed. The joy of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with Habari Adventure was beyond incredible. Reaching the roof of Africa with such a great company, expert tour guides, and a caring team was an experience I will always cherish.Written January 24, 2025

- leorenj0 contributionsExceeded all expectationsi could not believe that in this world, some people can do such wonderful things. Maybe I haven’t traveled a lot, but based on my trip to Arusha, I can confidently say that Habari Adventure made it unforgettable. They truly became friends to me, taking me to so many fascinating attractions across Tanzania. My golden memory was the guide’s detailed and captivating explanation of the wildebeest migration while we were in Serengeti National Park. Habari Adventure exceeded all my expectations!Written January 24, 2025
- laurenkE6824LY0 contributionsIncredible team!Habari team, never lose! I can’t recommend Habari Adventure highly enough, they made our trip to Tanzania unforgettable. Our guides Leon, Ray, Michael, and Omari were knowledgeable and professional while keeping the vibes high. The whole team (guides, chef, sous chef, sanitation, porters) made our Kilimanjaro climb so fun and safe. Thank you Habari!Written January 22, 2025
- jkbajwa10 contributionsAmazing hike and safariThe best company to book a Kilimanjaro hike and safari with, we had the best team of guides, porters and chef for our 5 day hike. They made the hike for us so enjoyable. We had the most knowledgeable safari guide through this company. We saw the big 5 and so much more because of himWritten January 21, 2025
- saritc20170 contributionsAmazing Habari - 7 days Kilimanjaro Machame route + 2 days safari - WOW.We got Habari as a recommendation from a friend and right from the planning Stan was amazing at every stage On day 1 of the trek we met our guides Godi and Justo who had all the best advice and support needed to succeed the climb. With us came an experienced and professional team of 13 who were there to take care of our every need and want before we even knew we needed it. They went above and beyond to make sure we were safe, comfortable and happy throughout every moment of the trek. After making the dream of summiting come true, we then went on a safari with Habari’s experienced guide Michael. Clearly with a lot of experience, Michael was patient with every question and has endless knowledge about the many animals that he was able to help us spot throughout the safari whilst again, going above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Thank you so much to the entire Habari team for making our time in Tanzania, on the mountain and in the safari as apwecoal and unforgettable as it was, we will always remember it!Written January 15, 2025
- 171kry_tofp0 contributionsOne Team, One Dream – Habari Adventures! What an adventure! "One Team, One Dream" truly sums it up, and with Habari, you can never lose. After careful consideration, we chose Habari Adventures—and honestly, it was the perfect choice. It all starts with a pickup, included in our package. Despite arriving earlier than planned (not a day before but 3 days before the start), the driver took us to our self-booked hotel. The day before the climb, we finally moved into the accommodation provided by Habari—and it was fantastic. The moment we saw the swimming pool, we couldn’t wait to dive in and relax! As two active travellers in our early 20s, my friend and I were hoping to join a group. Unfortunately, no one else signed up for the 7-day Machame track. Initially, we were a little disappointed that no one was joining us, but in hindsight, it turned out to be a blessing. Our guides, Abdi and Benzon, were highly trained and flexible, adjusting to our quicker pace without needing to accommodate a larger group. I’ll admit, I was the slower one, but they were incredibly patient and encouraging! One surprising aspect of the trip was the size of our support team. Even though it was just the two of us, we were accompanied by a total of 11 staff members! Their attention to safety, comfort, and guidance was on another level. And the meals—wow! I never expected to eat such incredible food on a mountain. Multiple courses served on (literally) silver platters? Oh, Man, Excellent! The sleeping arrangements were just as impressive: warm, CLEAN sleeping bags, comfortable and CLEAN mattresses, and windproof tents. Everything was meticulously organized to ensure our comfort. Even with some language barriers (not that significant) among some team members, their friendly smiles and positive energy kept us motivated. As our guide often reminded me, "Don’t get excited"—and thankfully, I didn’t! The breathtaking views and changing climate zones can sweep you away if you're not prepared. Habari’s professionalism shone through in their twice-daily medical checks, which provided extra reassurance during the climb. The only hiccup? We were so quick on one section that we reached the summit before sunrise. Unfortunately, the high altitude and extreme cold made it impossible to wait for dawn. It was still a magical moment, but in hindsight, pacing that part more slowly might have been better. Overall, if you’re looking for a reliable, professional, and well-organized company, Habari Adventures is the obvious choice. From start to finish, they made this journey unforgettable. At the end of last year, we began to think about climbing Kilimanjaro. I sent out many enquiries asking companies for their thoughts on taking a family of 5 - 2 adults and 3 children aged 15, 13 and 11 - to the roof of Africa. Understandably, every company had reservations - everyone apart from Habari Adventures.
Stan Wilfred's response was so warm and positive that we decided to go for it and we are so very glad we did. Our experience with Habari Adventures was simply incredible and their service was faultless.
Prior to our trip, Stan was professional, knowledgeable and hugely passionate about ensuring we had the best possible trip. He helped us to tailor the itinerary to give our children the best possible chance of summiting and he had a wealth of advice on everything from flights and training to kit and tips.
Everyone we met from Habari was warm, friendly and had a great sense of humour. They all loved working for Habari and described it as one big family that we soon felt we became a part of.
Taking your 3 children to the top of Kilimanjaro is a very daunting experience but they did everything they could to ensure we were well-fed, comfortable and - most importantly for me - safe. Their guides are so experienced and we trusted them completely. With the twice daily health checks, we knew we were in good shape for summiting. Summit night was incredibly tough but our team of guides and porters were simply amazing - carrying our day bags, constantly encouraging us and intuitively knowing when to give us a break and when we to keep pushing us
Standing on the roof of Africa with my family is one of - if not the - greatest experiences of my life and we are so grateful to Stan and his whole team at Habari Adventures.

I completed the 8-day Lemosho route and successfully reached the summit! Habari Adventure provided exceptional service, with quick and detailed responses to all my emails, making the preparation process stress-free. The guides and staff created a fun and positive atmosphere throughout, and the meals were always creative and delicious, never repetitive.
The sunrise at the summit was breathtaking, and I was able to create unforgettable memories with an amazing team. If you’re considering climbing Kilimanjaro, I highly recommend Habari Adventure for a safe and unforgettable experience!

Every group climbs the same mountain and stays at the same campsites, so it might seem like a good idea to just choose the cheapest option.
Or, you might feel like a tour group with a slick website and a big advertising budget might give you some extra confidence or luxury.
Climbing Kilimanjaro is certainly an unforgettable experience with any tour group, but Habari is the best team to get you to the summit. Here’s why Habari is different:
1) They’re local and contribute to the community. There’s someone to answer emails and phone calls in English, so no worries there. Check out the Habari Foundation to see how they give back.
2) The guides and porters are exceptional. Unlike how some other groups operate Habari, has a group of porters who train and work together with Habari. This isn’t just a group of dudes that they picked up in the parking lot. The porters have a camaraderie and cheerfulness that makes a hard hike much more enjoyable. By the end of the trip we truly felt like family.
3) Habari is the right size. Our group of hikers (seven new friends) and the Habari team was small enough to fit comfortably in some crowded campsites. One group in their custom-printed yellow tents seemed way too big for my taste.
4) The Habari guides are exceptionally experienced. Emmanuel was always correct with the best advice and we had the best summit sunrise due to his perfect timing. Our group all made it to the summit.
5) Habari knows the tricks. They always managed to secure the best camp site in the middle of the crowded mayhem.

The Habari team is unparalleled! They took amazing care of myself and 3 girlfriends (ages 35-39) as we climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro on the 8 day Lemosho route. Everything was professional, clear, and fantastic.
We had great communication with Stan prior to the trip, including gear guides and rental and what to expect. Ali (who was wonderful) picked us up at the airport, took us to the gates to begin the trek and picked us up at the end. Our incredible guides, Joseph and Awalli, chef MK, additional guides Evance and Deo, waiter Abu, porter Ramadan, photographer Decha, and the entire team made us feel like queens. They helped us with anything we needed, joined in on our frequent spontaneous dance parties, were always ready with an encouraging smile (especially Abel) and patiently answered our hundreds of questions. They took care of every detail, allowing us to focus on the climb and enjoy the experience. We felt like family by the end of the trip and it was so hard to say goodbye. I can't thank them enough for helping us all successfully summit and having a dance party with us at the top!
Kilimanjaro is like nothing I've ever experienced. There is nothing like starting out in the dark, with the beauty of the stars overhead, and getting to the summit just as the sun rises over the horizon. We were lucky with the weather with clear skies and little wind at the summit, and only one day of rain over the entire trek (we went at the end of September).
I can't recommend Habari enough. They are an incredible team to journey with and they truly care about the mountain and the community. They only hire local guides and porters so your money goes to the actual community who live around the mountain. They also have a foundation for local children's education. Our guide Joseph helped us pick up trash for an entire day as we climbed (it felt so good to get some of the rubbish off the mountain - please pack out what you pack in!). I am so grateful to them for our amazing, incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience and I miss them all. <3

If anyone is looking to go hike Kilimanjaro or go on a safari or just visit Tanzania in general - book everything through Habari Adventure!! I came to Tanzania as a young, solo, female traveler and was well taken care of the entire 16 days I was in the country - from the moment they picked me up from the airport when I arrived to the moment they dropped me off at the airport for my departure. I cannot thank Habari Adventure enough for the life-changing experience I had in Tanzania.
I did the Lemosho 8 day hike and had the most incredible time with my amazing guides - Justo and Michael. They both were attentive to my every need and always talking, laughing, singing, and dancing with me - helping make my mountain experience something I will always dream about reliving and more impactful than I could have ever asked for! My chef, Eugene, was a God send and I will never understand how he could make gourmet meals and snacks in a tent on one of the worlds tallest mountains! All of my porters were also incredible - the work they do is awe-inspiring and something I will never forget; and they did it all with a smile on their face and love in their heart!! I had a very successful climb, that culminated with a sunrise summit, and I owe it to the Habari Adventure team. Their are a lot of companies out there to choose from, so please let this be your sign to go with Habari.
My 4 day safari post-hike was also nothing short of incredible. My guide, Hilary, was not only knowledgable about the different parks and animals and where to go, but very, very kind and caring, making sure I was always okay and having a good time. As a young female who was alone for the hike and safari this was much appreciated. I saw the big 5 plus so much more!! Hilary taught me a lot and was always patient with me and let me set the pace!
Lastly, Habari Adventure is a local company that gives back to the community it is in - Moshi. I had the pleasure to go to one of the orphanages they support and spend a day their playing with the kids and learning about what they do. This was one of, if not the most, special and fulfilling things I have ever gotten to do. Book with Habari and make sure you have an extra day to go share some love and smiles and hugs and soccer skills with these amazing kiddos.
Thank you Habari for everything. I will be back - that's a promise!!

I usually don't write reviews, but the Habari Adventure team did such an outstanding job with my group's Kilimanjaro climb and subsequent 2-day Safari that I feel compelled to share my wonderful experience. Each member of the Habari Kili team (Guides Leon, Rayson, Josto, Waiter Abu, Chef Jimmy, and too many porters to name) contributed to the success of our summit. We felt safe and pampered for 8 days. A particular challenge of my group is that our ages range from 20 to 55, and we all have different fitness levels and hiking experiences. The guides worked together to accommodate all of us. We basically had cultural and Swahili tutors at our fingertips for 8 days.
For the Safari, ask for Octavian. I have spoken with other visitors at the hotel who felt they got a good driver but not a good animal guide. Octavian is both. He obviously loves the animals, and it shows. If possible, ask to stay at the Farm House Valley Lodge. My girlfriend is so in love with the 500 acre coffee plantation/lodge that she is already making plans to take her mother there. As for me, I will be contacting Stan at Habari for Gorilla trekking in 2026!
Habari Adventure is run by Tanzanians, and they support a local school. Those attributes plus their reasonable rates were what made me select them in the first place. I am glad I did.

As a family of 5 (aged 23 to 61) we chose the Lemosho 8 day route with Habari. From the outset Stan was accommodating and promptly answered any questions we had. During the hike, Leon was our lead guide and we were impressed by the whole team and found them to be warm, encouraging and genuine. We felt supported and safe at every stage and we had a 100% summit rate. It was my mums birthday on day 5 of our trek and the team surprised her with a birthday cake they’d had brought up from Moshi! I’d happily recommend Habari to anyone thinking of climbing Kilimanjaro and you have the added benefit of knowing they are a local company.

Dear Carly,
Many thanks for your feedback about your current trip with us. We are pleased you and your Family had a good time during your Kilimanjaro hike with our team, and we will certainly let them know. It's great to hear that the surprised cake was amazing, we are so happy being part of your mother's birthday celebration and a life time memory and able to share a lot of knowledge and passion about Tanzania. Looking forward to welcome you and many friends again in Tanzania.
With Love,
Caroline.

Would absolutely recommend Habari Adventure Group for a Mt Kili climb! We were looking for a more intimate, personal experience versus typical large group tourism type climb. We were a group of 5. From start to finish we received exceptional care! Above and beyond anything we could imagine. My Garmin watch needed to be charged and I lost my charging cord. Our guide Leon contacted another group, had a porter take my watch down to Barafu camp, once fully charged (5 hours) the porter went back down, picked up my watch and brought back to me at Kosovo camp so I could have my watch for summit night. This is just one example of the care Our group received. All I can say is they all were kind, caring, passionate and gave us the courage to overcome any doubts we had in making it to the summit, and….all 5 of us made it!

Habari Adventure - Class Act.
I did summit Mt. Kilimanjaro on New Year’s Eve, thanks to the dynamic duo, Joseph and Ramadhani.
You will be spending “long days” with your tour guide – sometimes 8 hours of trekking in one day. So you better hope you two get along. With Joseph, it was a piece of cake – and included non-stop laughs from start to finish. Personable, perfect English, very smart. Made you feel safe at all times.
Ramadhani is the “motivator”. He exudes warmth, comfort and has this natural ability to nurture and re-energize you during that final push to Summit.
I also wanted to mention Derick. His title was waiter. But in reality he took care of every detail to make sure you were comfortable and customized it based on what he saw you liked. Grateful to wake up to hot coffee room service, tussling in the tent as to whom is going to put my gaiters on, the multiple force feedings - but Madame, you need your energy! This is all in play – our sense of humor was very compatible and he was top notch.
I watched other guides, from other companies, along the way – to them – it was another day at the job. My tour Guide’s demeanor was I am here to help you achieve your dream.
Details matter:
It was a well-run operation. The team is competent, and no detail was missed. Before we left for summit night, I remember the guides inserting new batteries into my head torch, making sure all my summit gear was on correctly – i.e. tightening my gloves around jacket to make sure no cold air got in.
When my toes were starting to freeze, they (in a matter of seconds) removed my hiking boots, inserted the toe warmers, and put my hiking boots back on. That’s how exhausted I was, and that’s how caring they were.
I recorded most of my trip, because I knew it would be something I would want to enjoy, forever.
When I hear one particular song – that they sang. Jambo Bwana - Hakuna Matata the Kilimanjaro song - I can’t help but feel happy.
I will remember the team forever.

We had a great experience with Habari Adventures. We did the 8-day Lemosho route and a one day safari with them. Communication was easy and prompt and our trip was completely stress free due to their professionalism. Our guides, Modi and Mfaume came to meet us at our accomodation the day before the climb, they explained everything we needed to know as well as checked our equipment. We were able to rent everything we didn’t have with us. Our whole mountain team were amazing from day one and we soon became one ‘big mountain family’. We couldn’t have succeeded without their help and support, and for that we are truly grateful. Our safety and comfort was everyone’s priority; we had health checks 2x daily and a briefing at the end of the day to help us prepare for the next day. Modi and Mfaume were both very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about Kilimanjaro’s flora and fauna. Our whole group summitted succesfully and safely, and it’s down to our team and guides’ support, knowledge and experience.
We cannot recommend Habari Adventures highly enough. We went with them because of the thousands of positive feedback we’d read online. They treat and pay their employees fairly as well as provide excellent service. Thank you again for a truly unforgettable honeymoon. Asante Sana!
