Guide and places visited - Thomas AKA Uncle Thomas was excellent. He helped us see the big 5 and a lot more. He was very friendly and helpful. Thomas took the time to explain the history and the background of each place. He also answered all our questions patiently.
One of our kids has mobility issues and so uses the wheelchair. Thomas made sure that our child was as comfortable as possible and even helped with the wheelchair all the time.
He also made sure all of us got enough time to take our pictures and videos during the game drives.
We visited Mount Kilimanjaro, Tarangire, a Masai village, Southern Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. Each of these places had something new to offer us.
Operations-
Right from the start of the planning, Savannah Explorers had detailed discussions with us to plan our itinerary. All our needs were discussed in detail. After the original planner quit Savannah Explorers, Soraiya took over the planning. She was very meticulous in checking our itinerary and found out a couple of issues and sorted them out by working with us. We are very thankful to Soraiya as well.
Everything was well-arranged. The hotels booked were pretty good. All the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The rooms were all well maintained, except for minor issues with the bathroom, phone or a/c.
However, we had two hiccups which made us lose a few hours on two days (one, at the NCA gate where our permits had not been paid for and two, with the hot air balloon organization whose guys came almost 2 hours late and so we had to miss it the first day and fly the second day which reduced our Ngorongoro game drive time). We understand they were partner organizations that had the issue. Savannah Explorers did their best to resolve it in time. But we still lost precious hours.
All said, this was a fantastic trip and something all of us will cherish the rest of our lives. We highly recommend this trip (keep in mind it is a very expensive trip and it may be cheaper to go at other times of the year. We did this trip during the last week of December and the first week of January).

Thank you Savannah Explorers for an unforgettable trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar. The six days of safari were incredible thanks to our guide Maulid, who showed us the most amazing sights and shared his considerable knowledge with us. We felt completely safe in his hands and he took care of everything.
All the accommodation was of a really high standard.
And lastly, thank you to Soraiya at head office for her outstanding work. We booked our holiday almost three years ago but due to Covid it was cancelled twice. Each time all communication was excellent and rearrangements were all handled with great care and expertise.

We are a family of 5 (kids 14, 12 and 9) who took our trip over the christmas and new years holiday. It was amazing! I can't say enough good things about Savannah and our guide Osman. Savannah (Albert) were prompt, responsive, accommodating and helpful. We went from Kilimanjaro to Arusha to Tarangire to Manyara to Serengeti, Ngororo and then to Zanzibar. Along the way we got to visit Maasai and Iraqw tribes and stop for other things as needed. All of our connections were planned with proper guidance and timing - any hiccups were quickly and flawlessly resolved by Albert. The accommodations were what we had discussed in our program and the experience overall was incredible. I really appreciate all that Osman and Albert did for us - they made it a truly memorable, once in a lifetime experience. the kids had a great time too - the vehicle was better than expected and we had so much fun together! I will definitely recommend them to other people. Thank you Savannah

An unforgettable experience made possible by Savannah Explorers! Albert was amazing from the beginning of planning out the trip and was always available to answer questions. This was a 7 day safari: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro then 7 days in Zanzibar. Our driver Gerald was amazing, professional, knowledgeable and just great company for 7 days. I don't know how he did it, but he made sure we saw all the Big Five and even a Cheetah mom with her cubs. Our accommodations were incredible, especially Marera Mountain View Lodge and Matawi Serengeti Camp. I can't say enough about Gerald and the entire team at Savannah Explorers! I definitely recommend this company to anyone and make sure you ask for Gerald to be your guide!

Savannah Explorers surpassed our expectations!!!!
An exemplary service by Albert [sales agent] and by Abia [safari tour guide] and by Abraham [Zanzibar tour guide]. All of them are ultra responsive and strive to provide the utmost service to their patrons.
Will refer them to anyone/ everyone, whoever wishes to visit E. Africa.

From the moment I started the contact with Savannah Explorer , I had the best experience. I had a super help from Albert that is managing the English communications. Nothing was too hard for him! Any time I sent an email he was always kind and responded even late at night . I kept asking ,changing our itinerary and he helped us in any way we needed! I trusted his suggestions . We had to cancel the trip two times due to Covid but this July we did it.
We went first to Kenya and crosses Isabenia border with Tanzanian and there when we met our super fantastic Guide, Gerald . We spent 8 full days with him , driving through all the parks , he is a very experienced guide who can detect animals from
far , plus a very hood photographer. I can only say fantastic words about this company . You will not regret using them. Thank you Albert and Gerald for making this vacation the best we ever had! Regards from New York.

We selected Savannah Explorers after reading a lot of reviews for our safari trip in Tanzania with extension in Zanzibar! Our selection was the best. From the beginning, the communication with the office staff (Thank you Micky!) was really smooth, they helped us plan the best possible trip for our needs! Also within our trip, whenever we wished some help from them, they responded very quickly! And then our safari guide, Maulid! What to say about this man! He is the best! Except for being a great guide that assisted seeing the Big Five and all other animals with his great skills, he is a great person to be with for days! We earned a good friend after all! Thank you Maulid and Savannah Explorers, hope to see you again soon!

The Safari was amazing, especially Tarangiri in which we saw also giraffes, big elephants and lions trying to hunt Gnu.
