About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- cooperadrian0 contributionsNew year on zanzibar, thanks Matty. After our Tanzanian safaris Rupiaadventures.com especially Matty helped us sort and book our last part of our holiday on zanzibar in a couple of wonderful hotels, golden tulip airport and for the final 5 days we went to TOA hotel and spa, where we were greeted by Sega the hotel manager, and were treated like King and Queen. All staff high quality Directly on the beach 4 pools Food is of great quality.Written January 12, 2025
- cooperadrian0 contributionsWhat to say? Helped out and arranged all in our time of need. After being left on safari by our previous guide due to them not being paid by our tour operator. We contacted rupiaadventures.com ( Matty) as recommended by Joseph our Kenyan gude on +254 706 629051. We quickly arranged our ongoing safari, and through Tanzania to the safari parks mentioned in this trip, we had a high-quality safari vehicle with a top quality guide ( Stanley) . We camped on the Serengeti and in high class accommodation. This company also organised our flights from Arusha on to Zanzibar for the last days of our holiday. So so helpful and accommodating with our needs.Written January 12, 2025
- GuercioBruno0 contributionsImpressive SafariThe safari in Tanzania is simply the best. All the parks are amazing, the environment is perfect to feel the wild life going on right in front of your eyes. Ngorongoro the the highlight. The booking and treatment with Matt were really good from the first contact. I really reccomend it.Written January 11, 2025
- GuercioBruno0 contributionsAmazing time on the Mt. KilimanjaroThe climbing was awesome. The crew was amazing in all aspects, the food was good, the treatment as well. From the first contact with Matt I had all suppport needed. I really reccomend it.Written January 11, 2025
- R4354FYalexanders0 contributionsA professional experience that made our Tanzania Safaris easy and smoothOverall, a very well organized professional experience. Matt, the owner, was incredibly flexible and accommodating when planning the trip. He was very communicative and responsive and helped make this trip stress free. Some notable points - we ended up booking directly with Matt outside of trip advisor, as it enabled a more customized experienced. We stayed in lodges during our safari, but Matt also booked hotels before and after the safari, including rides, to enable easy stays and transfer from Kilimanjaro airport. Pros: Mvuli Lodge was incredible. Beautiful views, highly caring staff, and brand new accommodations. Food and service were both great. Ngorongoro is absolutely worth the trip. Breathtaking in all respects and wildlife everywhere. Cons: Jua Manyara lodge was pretty much a hostel with a private bathroom. Acceptable given the short planning timeline and busy season, but, if at all possible stay at Mvuli Lodge both nights. Minor, but there was some confusion among drivers as we were passed off to several different drivers and guides over the course of three days. It wasn't really a problem, but it did result in some downtime. Recommendations/Expectations: Stay at Mvuli Lodge for as much time as possible. The parks are a couple hours from Arusha, if you stay in town before or after the trip. So when figuring out flights, factor that in. Bring cash. USD or shillings are generally acceptable, but most places don't take card. Plan for some tips, waters, and coffee purchases. We stayed in Mvuli Hotel in Arusha for our bookend stays. It was definitely acceptable, but nothing is reasonably nearby, so expect to just eat at the hotel restaurant and hang in your room. Personally, I would say that Ngorongoro is a must. Lake Manyara and Tarangire were both amazing in their own rights, but I could have went with one and not the other. Instead, if you can get Serengeti into the itinerary, do that. We didn't go, but we came across other travelers that did, and their pictures were incredible.Written January 3, 2025
- T1247KOgracem0 contributionsBeyond Our ExpectationsFrom the beginning booking with Matt who offered suggestions was willing to accomadate to my request it went so very smoothly. Once on the ground Pendael the guide, driver was extremely knowledgeable about the animals, birds and trees. He also seemed able to predict which path the animals would take so that I was in a position to view these wonderful animals. Samuel the cook made some delicious meals an and was a source of information about modern African history. Their colleague Silas , in Kenya was also very knowledgeable and respectful of the animals. This trip far exceeded my expectations. I saw the Big 5 and so very much more. The wildebeest migration is a bit overwhelming so many animals. If I ever make it back to Africa I will be traveling with Rupia Adventure. I will recommend them to my friends and any6interested in Safari.Written December 21, 2024

- 553emilianam0 contributionsExcellent journey to TanzaniaI recently returned from a 5 days safari arranged by Rupia Adventure in Tanzania - the safari covered Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Manyara national parks. Because I had fixed dates and could not change them, I ended up in a one-person safari, which actually worked out fine. I had the guide and the vehicle to myself, which was great. Long story short - I had a great time and would absolutely recommend Rupia Adventure. Two people contributed to taking this trip enjoyable. The first is Jolanda, the consultant who worked with me in setting up the itinerary. She was responsive, easy to work with, and diligent - even though I had some questions about the trip and the various logistics involved, she was absolutely helpful at every point, right up to the point where I left Tanzania to go back home. The second person who made a huge difference was Enock, my guide. Blessed with an upbeat, cheerful, and infectious personality, Enock was absolutely great on the long rides. His ability to spot animals was uncanny, as was his knowledge about the various species of birds and animals on the safari. He made sure things were in order, went out of his way to make things comfortable for me, and helped me gain a whole new perspective on wildlife. Even when we had a minor accident (our vehicle got stuck in a waterhole in Manyara for a while), Enock was there trying his best to get things back on even keel. At no point did I feel unsafe or in danger. He helped me get to another vehicle which brought me back to the lodge, while additional equipment was brought to the site to extract the stuck vehicle. In the bargain, I got to make a couple of new friends in the vehicle that gave me a ride. All other facilities made by the company were great. The lodges were clean, functional, and well-maintained. Actually, a couple of the lodges were rather luxurious, which was not what I expected but was happy to see. The arrangements were made with care, attention to detail, and worked out very nicely for me. All in all, a memorable 5 days in and around Arusha.Written December 17, 2024
- evodym20240 contributionsGood safariFrom the first conversation with Matt for the trip planning to the last animal sighting with our guide Gerson, Rupia Adventure made this trip, "The Trip of a Lifetime". The game drives, Bush camps, Lodges, cultural tours and knowledge of the animals and the land, nothing could have been better. Food was great, service in all of the camps was wonderful. I would recommend Rupia Adventure to anyone who is looking for a Safari experience that will be talked about for years to come.Written December 12, 2024

It was great that Matt picked us at the airport to bring us to Mvuli Hotel directly. Everything very smooth and easy. During the drive we stopped at the Cultural Heritage Center in Arusha, a (quite touristic) place where you can experience and buy a lot of local craft and art.

The transfer between Arusha Airport and Kilimanjaro Airport went great. The car was large and comfortable and the driver (his name is Diomondé I think) was super nice! Reservation with Rupia Adventure was quick and easy via whats app.
Very good experience for me! I highly recommend

I find it difficult to understand why Rupia adventure is rated 5 stars for this service.
The latest reviews seem very old and maybe things were better before.
For our part, we used one of their vehicles twice for a trek in Kilimanjaro and for a visit to the Hot Springs then transfer to the airport.
The vehicle was a Volkswagen Passat type sedan I believe and not a minivan like almost all taxis in Tanzania.
So the trunk was of course too small to carry our large suitcases and bags and we had to force it to fit. In addition, a huge subwoofer, the usefulness of which we wonder, cluttered the trunk.
In addition, the vehicle is in fairly poor condition, no air conditioning, rear seat belts not working, grab handles above the doors torn off, etc. conditions which given the state of the roads and the time spent in the car, were not to provide a most comfortable trip.
The icing on the cake was that during the first trip, the front brakes failed due to completely worn pads. Iron against disc braking completely useless of course with a terrible noise and shift to the left each time you brake a little hard.
The driver stopped several times to check the damage but still told us that everything was fine and that the brakes were working! A big joke!!
We had a few scares but luckily he was driving slowly and we arrived, certainly slowly, but alive!
During the second trip 3 days later, the brake pads had been changed but not the discs.
Frankly, such a vehicle is unworthy for transporting passengers.

The airport transfer from Kilimandscharo Airport to our Hotel in Arusha and at the end of the holiday in the other direction worked perfectly.
The driver was a nice guy and the car was nearly new.
The company is reliable, the schedule was right.

It was great to have someone waiting for us at the airport and bring us from kilimanjaro airport to Arusha. Everything went smooth and it was well organized. There even was a car seat for our two year old son. On the way back we had to leave in the middle of the night for an early flight and they were well on time with picking us up. Can recommend using their service!

A review for a taxi transfer? Good cars, english speeking driver and the morst important topic: punctuality. Our driver was 10 Minitues before the agreed time at the airport and at the end of our Tanzania journey at our hotel. No waiting for the taxi - everthing perfect.

We used this service twice in Tanzania. Booked long before the trip. Flight got moved back to nearly midnight. Communicated this and they were still waiting outside the airport after our arrival. It was a dark ride through Tanzania, as there are little to no street lights. It was a bit odd that we had to stop for gas but we didn't make it to our destination safely!
The second trip was to the airport. It seems the original time they gave was a bit too close to departure time so they showed up early and communicated that they were there. Went well! Would use and recommend again.

Our pick up from Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha was just perfect. Matt was already waiting for us in front of the airport, kindly helped carrying our luggage and provided us with Wifi during our one hour drive to Arusha to let our family and friends back home know that we arrived safely.
