Itinerary
- 1Our driver-guide will pick you up from agreed Point at 03h30am then drive to Mikumi National Park, the trip will take 5-6 hours of drive, arrive in Mikumi mid-morning, and direct to the game drive, while in the park you will have your hot lunch at Mikumi NP Banda restaurant. then proceed with the game drive, before you start driving out of the park. After the game drive, you will prepare to return back to Dar es salaam and arrive around 19h00 this will depend on the time you left the Park. Watch for giraffes, elephants, zebras, and buffalo against the backdrop of the mountains that surround the park—the 1247 square mile (3230 sq. km) park is contained by the Uluguru mountains, the Rubeho mountains, and the Lumango mountains. Break for lunch at 1 pm, then spend the afternoon on a second game drive: explore the varied terrain of the park, which includes a floodplain, the ‘little Serengeti,’ and hippo pools where the enormous creatures wallow in thick mud

- Luci_Kp0 contributionsIncredible experience with big catsIt was our second time going on safari with tailspotters and once again we were not disappointed! We saw so many lions again including some up close and..ahem...intimate moments! Also saw two leopards including one setting up for a hunt- just magical. Santiago's experience and understanding of the animals behaviour means you get an incredible experience. Can only recommend!Written October 24, 2022
- 19frazerm0 contributionsBest safari ever - so we've been twice!Santiago is an incredibly knowledgeable guide who can spot animals when they are incredibly well camouflaged and hiding, he knows their behaviour and will make sure you're in the right place to see amazing behaviour Also really nice guy!Written October 13, 2022
- rubenv5340 contributionsGreat experience in Mikumi National ParkI had a really great trip to Mikumi National Park with Halifa. He’s a very friendly guide and taught me a lot about the animals and the nature of Tanzania. He knew where all the different animals were and showed me around the park. We saw a lot of elephants, giraffes, impalas, zebras, wildebeasts, buffalos, hippos and even a pack of lions! I would definitely recommend going on a game drive with Tail Spotter Safari! It was an experience I’ll never forget.Written November 24, 2020

- Siobhan Mary Q0 contributionsAmazing Experience and Wonderful Guide! We had an amazing trip with Santiago a few years ago to several national parks in Tanzania! Excellent value, great fun and we are still in contact with him:) Extremely knowledgable and helpful guide who we are delighted to still call a friend! I would recommend Santiago and his company for travel without hesitation! Have a great time :)Written January 24, 2020
- RCTRCT0 contributionsTrip of a lifetime!Santiago brought 10 of us on a brilliant 3 night trip to Tarangire National Park, Ngorogoro Crater and the Serengeti in July 2014. We met Santiago that summer in Ifakara and he really went above and beyond for us. He helped us plan all of our travels, brought us on an amazing safari, brought us hiking to Udzungwa and literally packed us and all of our bags onto the TAZARA rail and made sure we made it back to Dar es Salaam. Santiago is a wonderful guide - the perfect combination of being extremely knowledgeable and always up for a laugh! I 100% recommend him and his company!Written January 23, 2020
- P5003FDlaurao0 contributionsDream Safari with SantiagoI was lucky enough to tour with Santiago in 2014. Santiago went above and beyond each day we were with him. Not many guides will stop and buy you road side avocados and mangoes (the best you've ever tasted!), will help you with the rest of your stay (booking trains, getting from rural Tanzania to Dar) and be counted as a friend six years later. I have recommended Santiago to anyone I know going to Tanzania. They have all had the same excellent experience. He is a knowledgeable guide and a great companion. Thanks Santiago!Written January 23, 2020
- qWeRtZuI900 contributionsUnforgettable experience with an outstanding guideWe are Bruni+Klaus from Munich, and with our guide Santiago we had the best Safari ever. Spotting the unspotted, this is exactly what happened during our 4 brilliant days with him. It was amazing to see how he was spotting every single animal around whilst driving us safely through the wilderness. We could feel his passion for his business and felt safe with him all time. His knowledge about the animals and his ability to predict their behaviour is just unbelievable. We will never forget these 4 wonderful days in a different world, far from civilisation, but full of adventure.Written January 6, 2020
- 19frazerm0 contributionsAmazing, 10 starsWe spent 9 days and went on safari and did hikes in Ruaha, Matema, Mikumi and the Uluguru Mountains. Santiago has a real passion showing everyone the magic of Tanzania. He really understands the ecosystems and animal behaviour so will show you things no one else does and he makes every moment really fun. Don't play the tractor game with him because he will win.Written December 16, 2019
