My family and I had a wonderful time in the Mikumi national park in January. Our guide Isaac made myself and my family feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. Isaac had excellent communication skills and was very tuned in to our individual requirements and interest and responded appropriately throughout the tour. He was very well informed and was able to answer any questions we had during the tour and above all he added immensely to our family’s experience. We had a 2days Safari from Dar es Salaam and we enjoyed a lot. It's a 6h drive from Dar. We left early in the morning and in the afternoon we visited a Masai village. It's was really nice to see and understand their lifestyle. In Mikumi one day and a half was enough. We saw giraffes, elephants, zebra, lions, wilder beasts, buffalos, hippo, crocodiles and antilopes. Some of them had babies :). We stayed at Morio Hotel and it was good, including the food. We enjoyed it so much especially because we had an honest and nice guide. The price we had was cheaper than other offers of 760 USD for 2 that we have received. Some other guide lied to us before, trying to get money he didn't deserve. The best would be to ask recommendations from other tourists. The park can also be reached by bus.
