About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- ChristineMarokko0 contributionsBetter don't book it.Doesn't serve all promised stops. If you are unlucky you wait all day. Audio didn't work. The announcement said every 30 minutes. It runs every hour and some. No real hop-off hop-on. Some stops don't get served, misinformation and lies from stuff. No timetable, can't be sure if you ever get back. App is not working, real-time? Joke!Written April 30, 2023
- mochila3430 contributionsWorst case you will need to take a taxi home from outside the city as the bus won't come!Their driver did not follow the route that is printed on the leaflet and on their pickup signs. It clearly says the bus will stop twice at Cap Spartel (before and after Hercules cave). I walked from the cave to the Cap and then had to wait almost 2 hours for the next bus loop while the 2pm bus should have been there within 15 minutes. That next loop's bus also did not go back to the Cap to pick up any potential person who relied on the route. So it was not a simple mistake. I confronted the driver but he said he can't do anything... Worst case you need to pay for a taxi because you will be stranded 1h outside of the city. I even confirmed twice with the girl at the selling point that I can do the walking part. What a horrid way of treating paying customers.Written December 8, 2019
- Helen F0 contributionsNeeds some workClearly a fairly new operation, staff wonderful, but there is no information other than the map that you are given, no headphones! It would have been helpful if the places listed were announced by the guide so that we knew where we were on the tour and said as much. The tour did not take in the Kasbah and Almadina which is really great for tourists. For only the equivalent of 13 Euros per person though it is a great way to get around as it is a hop on hop off tour. I am sure that things will get better as the staff are young and eager to make things work. For this price you get 48 hours of being able to travel on 2 routes. We were only there for the day but had a great time, even if we had to walk a lot to see the things that we really wanted to see.Written August 6, 2019
- Rebecca G0 contributionsBest way to get an overview-or detailed view, on YOUR time!My father and I were only going to be in town for a couple hours so none of the private tours were going to work with our schedules (too long or at the wrong time). We happened to come across the Port location for City Tour Tanger's hop on/hop off bus after getting off the ferry and could not have been happier. Not only are they inexpensive (2 tours for only 13 Euro-as of March 2019) but our guide, Amine, pointed things out to us and gave us the tip of sitting in the front seats on the second level of the bus so we could see better (no one else was on the bus when we first got on). The recording was a little hard to make out so if you don't have a friendly guide, that could be a bit of an issue. However, you can get on/off at any of the 11 stops within the city or 9 stops outside the city for more info (stops are bright red along the curb and easy to find). Plus, if you stay on the bus and only do the inner city tour, you only need an hour. If you only do the outer city tour, you just need 2 hours (assuming you stay on the bus). You'll need at least 3 hours to do both tours (without getting off the bus) and should allow more time to get off at whichever stops you want to see more of. Our visit only allowed for one circuit of the inner city on the bus (one hour) but still gave us such a great overview, it was exactly right for us. Stops are as follows: Circuit Tanger Ville (inside the city, 1 hour circuit; 2 buses run from 9-11 and then one bus runs after 11): - Port - Place 9 Avril - Palais Moulay Hafid (1) - Tombeaux Pheniciens - Palais Moulay Hafid (2) - Place Faro - Sahet El Ourname - Tanger City Center - Villa Harris - Monopolio - Marina Circuit Port Grottes D'Hercule (2 hours from what I understood-we didn't have time for this one): - Port - Socco Alto (1) - Parc Perdicaris (1) - Cap Spartel (1) - Grottes d'Hercule - Cap Spartel (2) - Parc Perdicaris (2) - Golf - Socco Alto (2)Written March 29, 2019

It was a great way of seeing the Hercules caves and Cap Spartel.
However, the route map is not up to date meaning that although it appears to stop at Cap Spartel, continue on to Hercules Caves and then loop back round to Cap Spartel it actually doesn’t do so.
We had to wait for 2 hours at Cap Spartel for the next bus even though we were told we could get on the bus as it looped round. This was thankfully not catastrophic as there are three services and we had to wait for the last, but had we originally got on the third service and left stranded this would have incurred us getting a taxi back (200MAD). In fact, some passengers also waiting for the loop back to Cap Spartel had to get a taxi back to Tanfier as they had a time constraint.
Make sure you get this explained as there seems to be a different location for the second Cap Spartel stop. Eventhough the bus stop clearly says 4 AND 6 (I.e. first Cap Spartel stop and second Cap Spartel stop).
When we complained the staff were passing blame/ blamed us for not speaking to the driver.
Overall poor experience.

The Blue Route around the city is well worth it, and the free wifi makes it easy to look things up while going around. Also the seats have USB ports. It is a very good way to see the sights and the non-touristy areas outside the medina.
The Red Route to the Hercules' Caves... it is ok if you have time left over and fancy a ride out of town and back. The caves themselves are unimpressive, and the 60 MAD may be better spent elsewhere. When they say 15 minutes, take it, or the next bus it is hours later and nothing else to see unless you plan to have lunch, then it is ok. At Cap Spartel, the bus stops at the top of the hill, tells you you have 5 minutes, but it (at least on my bus) they did not say they will pick up at the bottom of the hill, at the famous sign. So it was a big rush to go down and try to come back up in five minutes.

Being a regular traveller I can rate this service as one of the best Tour Bus Hop on - Hop off One can see the whole city in your comfort zone . The one hour blue orbit take you around all important points in city.
The 2 hour Red orbit trip is even more fascinating .
Strongly recommend for all age groups travellers.

This was a great deal and wonderful people who bent over backwards to make our day enjoyable. When comparing experiences with friends who opted for a much more expensive experience here, we by far got the better deal. The audio was good in English, the buses were clean and the camel ride on the beach they arranged was amazing - with again very helpful, fun guys who ran the camels. Our whole group gives this tour an excellent value tour.

I'm a little confused by this service.
The positive:
Like all major cities, this is the best way to "program" and survey the sites to visit.
-The staff is super friendly.
The negative
Actual hours are different from those advertised in the prospectus, on the newsstands and on the app. The first bus of the grand tour starts at 11 am while everywhere it is indicated at noon. They announce a 2-hour rotation cycle and then verbally announce that a bus will pass every 30 minutes without warning that these buses can go in both directions of the circuit and that stops in both directions are sometimes not in the same place.
It's very difficult to understand, I know, but it's also complicated to manage on the spot.
It should be added that the signs of some stops on the circuit in the city have been removed and that it is therefore impossible to locate these stops.
We are left in the void and we must manage his visits well so as not to be mistaken and sometimes wait 45 to 50 minutes.
It would be great to have a schedule posted on the stops and more complete folders.

I would recommend doing both tours for this city bus. The one along the coast has absolutely beautiful views and stopping at the Hercules Cave was amazing. The app for the City Tour bus doesn't work so you can't track where the bus is. Would be good if it worked. I wish they had a bit more history to share about Tangier as it was brief. Also the scenic route has no narration which is too bad. Or maybe it wasn't working that day?

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We got great instructions about bus timing and where to get off so that we could make it to a destination we needed to visit to buy train tickets. Omar, in particular encouraged us to wait on the bus while waiting to transfer to the other line because it was cold and rainy outside. He was very kind.

Was a nice tour but lacked a bit.
This takes through all important and picturesque places. A lot can be improved though, The waiting times between red and the blue route was almost an hour and on a hot sunny day we had to stand and wait, it is a fixable issue. Lack of time table at the stops and there is very little info on the app.
But its great alternative to visit almost all of Tangier in a day.

I'll get to the point- the Red Route has no commentary. You learn nothing about the parts of the country or city outskirts you pass through. The map you get is poor. All in all, the core purpose is not delivered. Expensive too. It is just plain lazy.

When we wanted to board the bus using the tickets from this booking, we were told the tickets have already been used!! After several phone calls and wasting one hour of our valuable time, they finally figured out what was wrong and let us go by the next bus. Their representative was very nice and patient but helpless herself as Julia Travel refused to help. As such ours was a day trip and wasting time at their booth and not knowing what was going on was not a good experience.

Is there English audio on the bus? On the official site it does not say it but on here it does.
