About
AGAFAY DESERT:
The excursion starts in the morning from Marrakech and your first adventure will be at Agafay, the closest desert to Marrakech. A hilly barren landscape in the foothills of the Atlas, the Agafay Desert is a playground for quad bikers and buggy enthusiasts with a backdrop of often snow-capped peaks.
LAKE:
The next stop will be at beautiful Lake Takerkoust where we will have a Moroccan mint tea break. This lake is a popular weekend destination where you can go boating or take a little swim.
MOUNTAINS:
From the lake, we will drive with the 4×4 via the Kik Plateau to the little mountain village called Imlil. We will follow a little-used mountain road to Imlil where you will have lunch at a local guesthouse. From here you will have a beautiful view of the Mizane Valley. After lunch, you will meet a local guide for a 1,5-hour walk in the area. After the walk, you will transfer back to Marrakech.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- F175ILdylanw0 contributionsHiking was only around 2.5 hoursThis tour seems to focus heavily on upselling, which detracted from the overall hiking experience. While the scenery was lovely, the actual hiking time was around 2.5 hours, and we made several stops at shops and marketplaces. If you're looking for a more immersive experience, I’d recommend opting for longer hikes that focus more on nature.Written October 10, 2024
- bikramb050 contributionsPerfect hike to Toubkal - it couldn't be better! We were in a group of 12 hiking Toubkal, and both our guides, called Mohammed, made this experience one to remember for our lifetime! Everything from the stay at Imlil Lodge, the food, the guidance on the trek, food at basecamp and lunch stops along the way were taken care of. Mohammed also set a pace for us on the final ascent that was manageable by everyone, and made sure we reached the summit in time for sunrise. They are wonderful people and we will remember them for giving us the time of our lives! Don't think twice before booking this Toubkal adventure with them. They deserve everything!Written October 5, 2024
- J7004YHnathanc0 contributionsA great experienceWhat an amazing experience we have had, our guides (Both called Mohammed) were the most knowledgeable about the Atlas mountain range and shared stories and information with us about the surrounding landscape as we trekked through! The accommodation provided was beautiful and very welcoming, we were served so much amazing food but the guides team of cooks and the hospitality throughout the trip was impeccable. A great experience throughout, and I would recommend!Written October 5, 2024
- 319cedricv0 contributionsAmazing experienceWe recently returned from our 3 day trip to climb mount Toubkal and our first 4000+ high mountain. We have had an amazing experience thanks to our guide Mohamed and muleteer (and chef) Omar. We highly recommend Mohamed if you want to have fun and make jokes. Be sure you like Berber whiskey (tea) because you will have to drink a lot of it. Tanemmirt Mohamed!Written October 3, 2024
- KatieB23460 contributionsFantastic experience climbing Mount ToubkalWe recently trekked up Mount Toubkal with our incredible guide Ibrahim. As relatively novice trekkers, Ibrahim guided and supported us every step of the way. He was so funny and as a female only trip of 3 girls, we always felt safe and secure with him. Our cooks were also absolutely fantastic - we couldn’t believe the quality of food they could make half way up a mountain with so little utensils! The trek itself was stunning- the photos just don’t do the mountains justice. There were also multiple opportunities for cold water swimming in the waterfalls and rivers along the way which was a great way to soothe the tired muscles. We loved it and would highly recommend to anyone thinking about giving it a go!Written October 3, 2024
- anitamC2021TL0 contributionsEnjoy the cool and quiet mountainsA wonderful day in the Atlas Mountains. Stunning views of the mountains and green valleys, enjoyed along with the kindness and gentleness of the Berber people. Youness, our driver and guide, showed us his village and opened his family home to us. An absolute treat. Thank you.Written October 2, 2024

- johanbB2123LK0 contributionsFour day hike with Jbel ToubkalWe went on a four day hike in the Atlas mountains with Mohammed Sarqzi. We had a great time, Mohammed was a fun and knows a lot about the mountains and the Berber culture. It was also nice that we could adjust the trip depending on what we wanted along the way. The trip was very well organised with a car picking us up near our hostel. Along our trip we had many lovely Morrocan meals made by Mustafa.Written October 2, 2024
- Y1442WXmattb0 contributionsIncredible ExperienceEvery single aspect of this trip exceeded expectations and made for a truly memorable experience. We had a great group of people climbing with us and this was made better by our two guides (Mohammed & Mohammed) who were great fun, set a perfect pace and also provided really useful information throughout. The trip was organised perfectly from being picked up in Marrakesh until being returned there after a fantastic few days, which included brilliant food being provided throughout. Cannot recommend this trip enough.Written September 30, 2024
- lisandrod3350 contributions11/10 experienceI can't stress how amazing this experience is enough! Big thanks to both Mohammeds (who are the best guides you could ask for!), Garina, Hamza, Hassan, and company for making us feel at home at Toubkal!! We had a great time enjoying the beautiful Atlas landscape and we got fed like absolute kings and queens during the whole trek. My friends and I really recommend this unbelievable experience to whoever is eager to summit beautiful Toubkal. We are completely chuffed. If you want to experience the real Atlas mountains you have to go with both Mohammeds. A sincere thank you! We can't wait to be back.Written September 28, 2024
- adrianaO4496GF0 contributions3-day trip in the AtlasWe had a fantastic three-day hike. We completed a loop from Imlil, passing by Cascades gelées d'IGHOULIDNE and reaching Toubkal's summit at dawn on our third day. We camped near the refuges, enjoyed delicious local food, and explored breathtaking parts of the Atlas Mountains. Mohamed, our guide, and his team were brilliant. They took excellent care of us, cooking plenty of delicious meals, ensuring our well-being, and making sure we always had everything we needed. Mohamed knows the area like the back of his hand, and his passion for this region is contagious. I'd love to return to see more, and I highly recommend Mohamed and his team if you're considering a trip to the Atlas.Written September 25, 2024

- 748frasert0 contributionsTour of Atlas MountainsWe did a 4 day trip in the Atlas mts with Mohammed Sarkozy as our guide, Hussein as cook and Shakira the mule. It was amazing, even better than I had imagined and so nice to be guided by Mohammed and the team. So friendly and genuine, their joy in their jobs is infectious. Maybe not Shakira but she seemed happy too!! Thankyou to you all and good luck.Written September 23, 2024
- 750vickic0 contributionsGreat tripWe had a privately organised 12-day tour of Morocco using a private driver Contracted through Toukbal Guide. Our driver, Lahcen, was very polite and accommodating, ensuring we had a very comfortable journey. His 22 years of driving experience meant he knew where to stop for best panoramic photos along the road. We would highly recommend using this company.Written September 21, 2024
- Stephen T0 contributionsA memorable experienceWe climbed Mount Toubkal with a local guide - Hassan. He helped us a lot and supported us along the way. You may consider him a senior, but he is still young at heart! Afterwards, we had the pleasure to meet Younes, a local driver who took care of us for three days, driving us from Imlil to Merzouga and back to Marakech. He was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. I wholeheartedly recommend him for anyone planning a Moroccan adventure. Younes if you are reading this, a big Tenmirt! Hope we will see you again in the near future!Written September 20, 2024

We went on the ‘High Atlas Adventure’ day trip which we booked through the Riad we are staying with. Our guides name was Ibrahim and he was friendly, knowledgable and looked after us very well. He went out of his way to ensure we were happy with everything along the way and we loved the trip. We had lunch at Riad Kasbah which is a beautiful place and we were really looked after there too.
