It was really a fun experience putting together the perfect first vacation in Morocco with Tilila Travel. They gave me suggestions, guidance, then made sure we were being set up in quality accommodations and had great guides who spoke English in each city. And don’t be afraid to say “I want the very best” or “I need this to be more economical”. There is so many options in each city you can go lavish in one then be economical in another. Really a good experience. I have been telling my friends about Tilila. Our personal guide and driver Fatah, managed our schedule, provided extra information along our drive as well as fun diversions from the schedule. I feel like I have a good contact and friend now in Morocco. It is the right way to discover a country… Not having my husband take on a strange new transit system and not having to put up with the stress of driving in the strange traffic with different customs and laws. So much better of a vacation.

We normally prefer to explore overseas destinations on our own, but for Morocco we decided that it would be less stressful to have a tour company take care of us and we are definitely glad we did! We just came back from a 7-day/6-night tour of Morocco arranged by Rough Guides through a local tour company called Tilila Travel. Overall it was a great experience. It was good value, the tour company and driver assigned to us were honest, trustworthy and responsive, and the hotels and local day guides that they arranged for us were all good recommendations. The tour company assigned us a driver named Tawfiq for the entire duration of the trip. Tawfiq is a terrific asset to the company. He is a safe and thoughtful driver and we felt safe in his care. Also, although he was not a formal guide he knew a lot about the places we visited and shared many interesting and useful insights about Morocco. Tawfiq also made sure to call ahead and ensure the hotels could meet us on arrival (which sometimes required a porter to carry our bags uphill or down very confusing alleyways in the old city), as well as meeting and handing us off to local guides. Tawfiq was available on WhatsApp (for Americans, it is a helpful texting/phone app overseas), so we had no problems arranging daily logistics for pickup, etc. We didn't have enough time for the full 9-day tour, so the tour company was very helpful in helping us modify their initial "best of" recommended itinerary to match our flights and preferences. Our tour started in Tangier where we were picked up at the airport, and continued over 7 days to Chefchaouen, Volabilis, Meknes, Fes, Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakesh, and included drop off at our departure airport at Marrakesh. I would note that we did most of our communications arranging our trip directly with Mohamed, the owner of the tour company. Because of the time we had and the way the different cities are laid out, our itinerary did make for some long drives which they thoughtfully broke up into 1-3 hour segments. Our driver Tawfiq was very helpful planning rest stops and meals along the way, and you should not be shy about letting your driver know if you need to take a break. The hotels that they arranged for us were all quite good, clean with helpful service and good-to-decent breakfasts. I guess there is always a fear of getting sick but we were pretty lucky and no one had any digestive problems even though we ate out almost every day at local restaurants outside our hotels. The tour company also arranged for local licensed guides with expertise in specific locales. These local guides covered a full day in Fes, a half-day in Marrakesh, and 1 hour in Volabilis (ancient Roman ruins) and 2 hours in Meknes. You do not need to pay these guides separately, but it is customary to give them a tip. The guides were generally pretty good (special mention for Amal in Fes), but you should not be shy if you need them to slow down or speak more clearly. One point I think worth mentioning is that in the bigger cities, the guides included stops at various shops, including shops selling berber rugs, leather goods and ceramics. I have been on trips (e.g., Venice) where you find yourself in high-pressure sale situations. This is not that. These stops give you a view into the local culture and economy, and if you are interested, a chance to buy from respectable sellers. If you really do not want to be taken to any shops or merchants, you should say so, or ask your guide if you need help (although normally the guides will sit outside the shop and let you shop at leisure). Our fees included an English-speaking driver and large van, rooms each night at a 4- or 5-star riad-style hotel, breakfast was inclusive. The expense also included hiring the local guides. The price quoted by the travel company was the actual full price. No hidden fees or taxes, etc. You will need to pay for your own meals and drinks outside breakfast, entry fees into any sites, and tips.

We had never used travel agents before this trip, and it proved a very worthwhile thing to do for travelling in a country we knew nothing about. We had organised our own stay in Marrakech but hadn't felt confident in undertaking the remainder of a packed itinerary to three other cities by ourselves. I chose to use a respected travel company (Rough Guides) and they have chosen an excellent partner agent in Morocco (Mohamed at Tilila Travel). Mohamed put together a detailed trip that followed the dates and places that I had asked for, but with added improvements. He called and suggested those small improvements and the resulting booking and payment was very smooth. Mohamed chose Tawfiq to be our driver for our 5-day trip and we had a lovely time with him. Tawfiq was very welcoming, very considerate and knowledgeable and we comfortably spent long hours driving across Morocco with him. He always took our needs into consideration, made sure we had all the necessary stops for toilets and photos, was always on time to collect us and made sure we were safely handed to guides and hotel staff at key points. He was always ready to answer our many questions about protocol, and to discuss culture, customs and life experiences. We would thoroughly recommend Rough Guides, Tilila Travel and Tawfiq to anyone else booking a holiday in Morocco.

My husband and I did a 6 night private tour with Tilila Travel in late January 2025. Mohamed responded to our initial email very quickly and did a few calls with us before we booked the tour with him. He was patient and answered all our questions in detail, and came up with a suitable itinerary in a webpage which was very useful. We were comparing costs and service levels between two agencies, and do not regret our final decision to go with Tilila. In particular, our driver Tawfiq (who is an upbeat and intelligent young man) is a pleasure to spend time with and took good care of us. He drove safely and was very punctual, accommodating, proactive and helpful throughout the entire trip. He helped us to purchase and top up a SIM card, helped with our bags, took lots of photos for us, loaned us coins for using the washroom, and made sure we got to Merzouga in time so we could watch the sunset during our camel ride, among many examples. On top of that, Tawfiq is knowledgeable about Morocco, and shared freely with us about his thoughts on various topics such as history, local culture and politics. We find it heartwarming how Tawfiq takes pride (deservedly so) in Morocco and that he treats us as his guests. He very kindly invited us to his family home, where we got to meet his parents, eat some sweet dates grown on his father's farm and some very delicious bread baked by his mother. We also listened to music by local singers and musicians recommended by Tawfiq during our road trip. We became friends by the end of the trip. The local guides who took us around Marrakesh, Fes, and Chefchauoen were well selected and gave us very good tours of their cities. We particularly enjoyed the old city of Fes - never seen anything quite like it in all our travels. There were some minor hiccups in the trip (we forgot to drop by one or two places, and the food got quite repetitive especially for vegetarians which isn't Tilila's fault), but there was nothing that took away from the entire experience. We recommend going with Tilila Travels if you're still considering. Thank you Mohamed and Tawfiq and we hope to go back to Morocco again.

We have spent about two weeks in Morrocco following an itinerary that was planned by Mohammed. The whole trip has been fantastic. The hospitality of the Moroccan people has been exceptional. Friendly and helpful service is in every hotel, every restaurant, and shop we have visited. We have had an excellent driver, Fatah, who has been a joy to spend time with. If you want a trip that is well planned with excellent guides along the way you should work with Mohammed and Tilila Travel

Our family of four (kids aged 17 & 12) has just returned from a wonderful 16 day/4500km tour of beautiful Morocco with Tilila Travel. He was especially great with our kids too, joking around & keeping them buoyant on long, tiring days. We really appreciated his fantastic translating & advocacy skills when we had a couple of hiccups along the way. Some of the mountain roads were quite steep, winding & narrow but Tawfiq’s steady driving was impeccable. Spending many hours together travelling in the van we got to hear so much about the history & culture of Morocco from him, you just couldn’t get that experience any other way. It was the best experience!! a friendly driver picked us up at our hotel and after a trip of ca. 40 minutes we arrived at the location , the location was situated at the end of all quad and tourist attractions and felt authentic, i did the tour with my husband and son, they both drove their own quad and i was assisted by a fantastisc quide, we had a full 2 hours tour and saw the breathtaking sunset which really moved me, the guide took the time to learn me how to drive during the break which we had. My son had done some more quad tours but he said this definetely was the best! the guide took some wonderful pictures, we can recommend this tour!!!

From the first time I contacted Tilila Travel, Mohamed answered every email right away. I told him where we would like to go and what we wanted to see. He sent me a possible itinerary for 14 days including sights to see and options for places to stay. For the next several months I asked many questions and wanted changes made to the itinerary. Shortly before leaving I needed to add 2 more days to our itinerary because our arrival was going to be earlier than originally planned. Mohamed willingly made changes to the itinerary to accommodate our earlier arrival. Mohamed was always patient, ready to help and offered suggestions. He was very professional and easy to work with. Mohamed met us in Marrakech at a sidewalk cafe the last afternoon of our adventure. He wanted to know how our trip had been. We had two excellent drivers, Tawfiq and Mustapha. Both were so much fun and took care of all our needs. They took care of our luggage, checked us into the Riads or hotels and made sure we had everything we needed. If something came up we knew we could call them but we never needed to. They even bought a stool so that it would be easier for me to get into the van. They made sure we did everything that was on our itinerary and even had extra ideas on things to do or see if time permitted. They were always on time or early to pick us up. One of our best meals was the night we went with them to dinner at one of the local restaurants that they were going to go to. When they took us to the airport Tawfiq was able to get us in the terminal past the long line at the entrance. Also both were able to go into the terminal with us to help with the luggage and questions at the checkin counter. Tawfiq and Mustapha made our trip to Morocco special. It would not have been near as much fun without them. Thank you to Mohamed, Mustapha and Tawfiq for making Morocco such a memorable trip and sharing your culture with us. This is an extremely reliable agency. Mohammed who is the executive in charge was a pleasure. Our trip went off without a hitch. We adapted some of the original plans before we left. Mohammed made some further changes on the itinerary when we were in Morocco with out any further charge and with graciousness not usually seen. Our driver Yassin was a perfect gentleman.....A pleasure too be with and well informed. His English was perfect and his patience appreciated. The trip from Casablanca in one day trip to Fez while long ,was so worthwhile. Our day trip from Marrakesh to Essaouria and overnight in Ouarzazate were remarkable and well worth doing. Morocco is indeed a pleasure . It has a constitution and king that inspires tranquility among its many religious and ethnic groups and it seems to be working well.

I can recommend Tilila Travel for solo explorers! I traveled with Feysel, a young driver based in Marrakesh. We explored Morocco for 8 days and saw the desert, the blue city of Chefchaouen, the marketplace in Fes, Aït Benhaddou, Casablanca and the Roman ruins in Volubilis. Tilila booked me into modern, clean, comfortable, private rooms each night and Feysel would pick me up the next morning to continue our tour. He was a great guide and knew all the clean restaurants (with western bathrooms) to make stops at. Feysel was very accommodating and must have stopped (or tuned around) at least a dozen times for me to get the perfect picture of a casbah or vista. What a great trip to a beautiful county! We took a customized 6 days private package for a family of three that covers Merrakech, Essaouira, Atlas mountain/Ourica valley, and Agafay desert. So in 6 days we are able to explore Merrakech, see the coast and beach in Essaouira, the mountain and ber ber village in Ourica valley, and camel + quad ride with desert dinner and show with private guide, private driver and cars. We had a lot of free time to explore anything we want and able to make connection and friendship with our guides who are very friendly and very accommodating to our needs. Definitely recommended for first time visitor to Morocco like us but the service is very good and experienced that we are considering to have Tilia travel to arrange the next specific trip to Morocco for our next family vacation. The sight and sound are amazing but what makes it memorable are the people who are kind and very considerate to our needs.
