- Sarah H0 contributionsNot our highlight.Felt a bit discombobulated! I thought the locations were very good on this trip and we seem to spend the right amount of time at each one ,although the way that the trip was ran fell short of what we expected information about the history of the area ,food ,people could’ve been presented better and more consistently which would’ve don rounded experience . personally I didn’t like The blasting of loud music the Minibus ,was a bit much. Possibly a trip for the under 50s!Written September 2, 2024
- preciousb5820 contributionsDefinitely recommend! It was a very nice experience , definitely recommend! As two women travellers , I did not feel unsafe at any moment. Only downside for me personally was the cats. They wandered around while we had dinner. I got scratched by one but the guide was very helpful into treating it.Written August 19, 2024
- Amymh50 contributionsFantastic !Very interesting and enjoyable tour. Was the best thing we did in Marrakech. Excellent value for money. The hike was only really an hour of walking - good for my 60 year old father. Take water with you as we needed it on the bus and for the walk (although there is chance to buy some). Ismail was a very good guide, giving useful information whilst not going on and on. As a female traveller you are fine in shorts and vest top. Really recommend!Written August 19, 2024
- john p0 contributionsGreat trip - worthwhile, especially for the taste of local mountain lifeMy daughter and I had a great day out to the Atlas Mountains, with our amazing guide Omar (who, btw, everyone seemed to know!). We weren’t sure what to expect and the drive out does take some time (it feels longer coming back but you can have a nap at least) - but the experience is totally worth it. The camel ride is worthwhile whilst you are there and it is good to learn how the camels are looked after (important whenever animals meet tourists). The real highlights were the mountains themselves, the local people (e.g. in the breakfast stop where there was no hard-sell) and - above all - the food we had which was provided by a local family and was truly tasty - a hot pot of potatoes, vegetables and chicken - reminding me of home-cooked Mediterranean food from my youth. A great experience and great value for a day out.Written August 17, 2024
- PattersonDuddy0 contributionsBest excursion & Camel ride in Morocco 🇲🇦What a perfect and fantastic day. We were picked up at our hotel door by our fantastic guide Issmail and our driver Ibrahim. Our trip was explained in detail, and all aboard were ready for a great day. Stop one was an amazing Camel (Dromedary actually 🐪) ride that lasted over 45 minutes with full costume provided. Then on to beautiful mountains & valleys (3), with a stop at a Berber woman’s coop where we were treated to delicious hand made spreads and Moroccan tea. Later after a breathtaking hike to the waterfall, we enjoyed the most delicious traditional Berber meal (best meal of our European/African trip actually) and a 9.5 hour excursion in total. Awesome!!!! ☺️ 110% recommend 🥹👍🏼☺️ Thanks Issmail, you were marvellous 👍🏼Written August 7, 2024

- andrewsA5137WT0 contributionsRespite from the Marrakech Heat in the Atlas MountainsOur trip to the Atlas Mountains was (as you can probably guess by the other reviews) lovely. Abdul picked us up at 8:20 in the morning, meeting us with a firm handshake and a toothy grin. He hurried around the city, picking up the other visitors and, of course, our tour guide Ismail. Before the city had stirred, we were out of the Medina and well on our way to the first stop of tea and a camel ride. We drove for a while listening to pop hits from the late 2000s and early 2010s until we arrived at a farm---squads of fancy geese, rows of olive trees and date palms and pomegranates. Even a peacock. They dressed us in traditional Moroccan garb and put us on the dromedaries for a 20-minute ride. When we came back, we drank tea and Ismail taught us about the animals: how far they can walk, the ins and outs of dromedary ownership, even their historical import. When we had questions about them, I was surprised at how much Ismail knew about them (and their Asian cousin the camel). I had a lot of fun riding the undulate friends. Next stop: argan oil co-op. We ate breakfast (the amlou was superb) with more mint tea. Then, they showed us how argan oil was made: the labor intensive steps of picking, shelling, crushing, roasting, milling, setting, filtering, etc. After explaining this, they brought us downstairs to their shop to show us their various products. The shop was quaint and sheek with mirrors and glass and inlay lighting, as any beauty shop worth its salt. There were soaps, perfumes, pure argan oils, mixed oils, and much more. Our next stop was a Berber (Amazigh) village where Ismail walked us up a river and to a waterfall that flowed into it. While we walked, he told us about Amazigh cultural practices, beliefs, origins, and more. What I appreciated most, however, were not the facts or the information, but the degree to which Ismail cared about the locals. He interacted with such care for the children, respect to the women, and camaraderie with the men. I found him endearing and lovely. We ended our time in the village with a large meal of tagine, couscous, khubz. There, we were accosted by a group of conniving cats who were, apparently, too good to eat our the bread that fell on the ground. They jumped on our chairs and made to claw at the chicken on our plates. After shooing them and tasting the tagine, I understood why. It was genuinely the best tagine I've had in Morocco, and I've had it everyday since I've arrived. If I were a cat, I'd want to eat it, too. Go and enjoy this excursion. Beyond what I've mentioned, the views are smokey and massive, the drive is pleasant and smooth, the price is unbeatable. Abdul and Ismail were charming.Written August 4, 2024
- Steve H0 contributionsAtlas Mountains trip - excellent itinerary and guideThank you to Ismail (guide) and Abdul (driver) for a fantastic excursion to the Atlas Mountains. We visited… Souk - as it was a Tuesday Argan oil co-operative where we had breakfast and were pitched to, we bought some oil. We then travelled further into the mountains for a trek up to a waterfall which was beautiful but very just, even Ismail said he’d never seen it so busy. The water was cool and we got some fantastic pictures. The walk was around 3km and took about 90 minutes, lots to see along the way. For lunch we visited Ismail’s family for tajine, the best we’ve had in Morocco so far. Fantastic views from the roof terrace, very peaceful compared to Marrakesh! Then it’ was back on the minibus for a nap while we were transported to the camel ride. There actually not camels but dromedaries (one hump) knowledge learnt from Ismail. The ride was long enough in the heat of July (37 deg) and was very peaceful. We then had mint tea and traditional biscuits before boarding the bus back to Marrakesh. A fantastic day trip to the Atlas Mountains with a very knowledgeable guide, whose French and English are excellent. I can highly recommend this company and the tour we did. Great value as breakfast and lunch are included in the price. Thanks from Steve, Emily, Ben and Izzy - UKWritten July 30, 2024
- Roving5409100 contributionsMemories for a lifetime🙂We had the best experience with Ismail and the driver, Abdul. The lunch at his families house was the ising on the cake. Very good guide with lots of information of muslim traditions and way of life. Especially his knowledge of the bebars was thrilling and exciting. The original marked, the bebar breakfast and the stop at the original souk marked was spot on for us. The ride with the dromedars was longer and better than excpected. A big part of the sucsessful day was the companionship with peapole from 6-7 different countries. HIGHLY RECOMENDED Jim, Marit and Majkare, Norway..Written July 29, 2024
- D9286IWanital0 contributionsMemorable day in the Atlas Mountains 😊Our experiences of the Atlas Mountains , the Agafay Falls, camel rides and Berber village was amazing. Our guide, Ismail, explained the traditions and significance of the places in great detail. The camel ride and dressing in traditional outfits was fun. Views were breathtaking, as was the trek towards the waterfall. Thou rally recommend this tour. Our driver was skilled to navigate the winding roads and felt very safe in Ismail’s and Abdul’s house. To end the day we had a meal at Ismail’s family home, who welcomed us and catered for our vegetarian needs. A day to remember. Thank you Ismail 😊Written July 28, 2024

Absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. Ismail and hesham were genuine, warm knowledgeable and good fun. Excellent confident safe driving in a well conditioned bus. Imail even mended my shoe 😃 The trip itself was vastly underpriced in my opinion, great value for money. The itinerary was brilliant a real taste of Morocco.

A fantastic experience which is highly recommended. We were picked up and dropped off at a mutually agreed location.
Mustafa, the tour guide is highly knowledgeable and funny. He shared some interesting information along the way, including historical and cultural. The drive was safe and comfortable . We had the opportunity to get to know others on the tour and everyone was friendly. We even met some people from the UK.
Mustafa stopped and purchased water for everyone along the way and we had some delicious nuts and mint tea on arrival at the Atlas Mountains. We dressed up in local berber dress and went for a camel ride which was lots of fun and there was plenty of opportunity for photos through out the tour.
Lunch was bread with various delicious dips; argon oil, olive oil, honey and a peanut dip. Dinner was prepared by Mustafa’s mum which was delicious and substantive; couscous, veg, chicken, salad.
We saw the women’s co-operative where argon oil was made by hand. There was a variety of handmade products (inc soap) available to purchase.
We weren’t expecting the hike, which although was wonderful, may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
Definitely value for money. A bargain in fact! A wonderful experience.
