About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 318thadm0 contributionsAtlas Mountains adventureFantastic hike with amazing views at every turn. Our guide, Samir, was AWESOME! He was knowledgeable about the area, looked out for all members of our group, and was incredibly personable. I highly recommend any of the trips into the Atlas mountains with this team.Written February 16, 2025
- Q4806KWtomc0 contributionsThree Days in the High Atlas: Dust, Sweat, and SunburnIf you want to understand a place, really understand it, you have to walk it. Feel the dirt under your boots, the sun clawing at your skin, the wind cutting through your jacket like a dull knife, and the magnificent mountains dropping your jaw over and over. The High Atlas Mountains don’t just reveal themselves to you; they test you, wear you down, and, if you’re lucky, let you in. We started as strangers. Me and Rory, a pair of best friends catching up, joined by Frans and Sofie from The Netherlands and Myrna from the UK, all of who were doing their own wandering. Within ten minutes of the meeting, the mountains had done their work. Small talk gave way to shared laughs, conversations unspooled easily, and before long, we were sharing mints and tea like old friends. Something about the altitude strips away pretension, makes you honest. Maybe it’s the thin air, or maybe it’s just the fact that you’ve got little to no signal and no escape—only each other and the road ahead. Samir, our guide, was everything you want in a mountain man: calm, steady, the kind of guy who could probably survive out here with nothing but a knife and a good pair of boots. Then there was our cook (Abdulla), a quiet operator with simple skills and a donkey for company. He kept us fuelled on simple tagines and flatbread, the kind of food that under any other circumstances, might feel unremarkable. But up here, after hours of walking, it was energy-packed and appreciated. The mountains themselves? Brutal, rugged and beautiful in equal measure. Snow-capped peaks sliced into the sky, the sun burned fiercely by day, then disappeared into a freezing, endless night filled with unspoilt views of the stars. The villages—Imlil, Tinerhourhine, Aït Aïssa—felt like they had been there forever (except those damaged by the recent earthquake), stone and earth blending seamlessly into the landscape. It was humbling, walking through places where life carried on as it had for centuries, where people worked the land with their hands and lived by the rhythm of the seasons. Accommodations were exactly as they should be: simple, functional, no frills. You sleep where you sleep, and if you’re lucky, there’s a shower that’s more warm than cold. But that’s part of it. If you’re the kind of person who needs turn-down service and a pillow menu, this isn’t for you. If you’ve walked mountains before, if you understand that comfort is relative and the best sleep comes after a long day’s trek, then you’ll be fine. If there’s one thing I’d change, it’d be a deeper connection with the Berber communities we passed through. A chance to sit down, learn about their history, their traditions, their food—not just observe but truly engage and gain a little more insight. I’d pay more for that, especially if I knew the money was going where it should. And one last thing: if you’re booking this through some big platform, know that a chunk of what you pay never reaches the people making it happen. Tip your guide, tip your cook, and acknowledge the ones who make the journey possible. Because when the trek is over, when you’re back in the madness of Marrakech, drinking a beer and peeling off layers of dust and sunburn, you’ll realise that what made the trip wasn’t just the mountains. It was the people, the stories, the long silences broken by laughter. And maybe, if you’re lucky, you’ll have left a little piece of yourself up there, tucked into the winding trails and the cold, star-soaked nights.Written February 15, 2025
- Marjoo_970 contributionsWhat an incredible experience, thanks to our guide Mostafa! We booked the 3-day hike to climb Mount Toubkal in February. Due to heavy snowfall, we were unable to take the planned route from the Tamsoult Refuge to the Toubkal Refuge. Instead, we completed the Toubkal climb in two days. The organization was very helpful in offering alternative options for our third day. In the end, everything worked out perfectly, as our guide, Mostafa, gave us an unforgettable experience with a scenic hike through local villages and the beautiful nature around Imlil. Our guide: Mostafa Mostafa is an absolutely amazing guide and person! He kept us motivated throughout the climb (which was much needed due to the cold and the physical challenge) and made sure we felt safe the entire time. He speaks good English and has extensive knowledge about the area, the people, and the local wildlife. He is kind and social, yet serious and focused when needed. All of this makes him the perfect guide for this adventure! 👌🏻 About the Toubkal Climb We completed the climb in two days. Day 1 Our pick-up was near our riad in Marrakech. Upon arrival in Imlil, you can inform the guide if you need to rent equipment such as crampons. The guide will then show you the trail on the map before you begin the first part of the hike. This part of the hike takes you from Imlil to the Toubkal Refuge (a 1,500-meter ascent over a 15-kilometer distance). Along the way, there are several small shops where you can buy drinks and snacks, as well as a longer stop for a delicious lunch. By evening, you arrive at the Toubkal Refuge. Keep in mind that it can be quite dark inside, so bringing a flashlight is highly recommended. Day 2 You’ll wake up early for the final ascent to the Toubkal summit. Make sure to eat a good breakfast before setting off! We know it can be difficult to eat much so early in the morning, but we didn’t eat enough and felt dizzy due to low energy levels when we reached the top. After breakfast, you put on your crampons (if it’s winter) and begin the ascent to the summit. In February, the temperatures were very cold, so we highly recommend bringing multiple layers, a hat, gloves, and a wind-resistant jacket and pants. After reaching the summit, you descend back to the Toubkal Refuge for lunch. On the same day, you continue hiking all the way down to Imlil. It’s a long and challenging day (1,000 meters of ascent, 2,500 meters of descent, covering a total of 25 kilometers), but after conquering the summit, you’ll find the strength to push through! 💪🏻 At the end of the second day, we stayed overnight in one of the lovely guesthouses arranged by the organization. Day 3 On our third day, Mostafa took us on a beautiful and relaxing hike around Imlil. If you want to experience life in the Atlas Mountains but prefer not to climb Toubkal, we highly recommend booking one of the other walking tours. There is so much to see in this area, and the locals are incredibly warm and welcoming! Final thoughts We had the best time and hope you get to experience the same! Hopefully, this review helps you plan your own unforgettable adventure. :)Written February 14, 2025
- V151RAzoew0 contributionsFunny experienceWhat started a bit of an mis communication day concerning the transfer!! However, this company soon made it the most funniest day.. The trip is very good and the tour guide Abdeul was just amazing. What a funny young man and very caring. Also, the guy who drove us back down the mountain because we was on the wrong trip ( he drives a nice black Skoda) thank you for you kind generosity of driving us back to our correct bus and guide. Atlas Mountains are a must see for the experience and rural life. The food for lunch was also very tasty and delivered very well by Abdeul. Thank you to all involved.Written February 5, 2025

- PaulM129590 contributionsIdeal 3 day hikeWe had a great time on our 3 day hike in the Atlas. Kamal was an exemplary guide: he set a good pace, he had great local knowledge of the area, and we even had a pitstop at his home for a mint tea on day 2. The mountain views were beautiful, particularly on Day 3. We travelled as two friends (male and female) with no hassle. Hassan cooked hearty meals for us each day. We had good accommodation on both nights. Bed linen and towels are provided. Although TripAdvisor technically "confirmed" our trip at the time of booking, we had no communication from our pick-up guy until 5 minutes before our scheduled pick-up, so bear that in mind while you're waiting! Overall, I'd definitely recommendWritten January 22, 2025
- S4701EKjamesh0 contributionsAtlas Mountain1. Hassan was amazing (our guide) 2. The trip could have been better, it was quite disorganized (not our guide’s fault) 3. We paid for private (did group, just book the group it was for the best) 4. This is not an easy hike (8 miles each way, 4,000 ft of climb) (5hrs per day) 5. You’ll make a stop for lunch and one stop for drink. 6. Base camp is at 10,500ft (3500 meters) 7. You start the day at 0930 - arrive by 1130. Start the climb around 1200 and get to base camp around 1700. 8. The next day you summit at 0500 (wakeup 0330) 9. Breakfast after summit 1000 10. Arrive back at beginning at 1800. 11. Taxi/bus pickup is quite disorganized so be prepared for that. 12. If you’re doing this in the winter you need some serious winter gear (rent poles, crampons) you don’t need an ice axe. 13. Overall, absolutely amazing experience but know what you’re walking into.Written December 30, 2024
- Robert Alexandr... P0 contributionsamazing tour, good valuethis is an amazing choice for a one day tour around morroco and for an immersion in the local culture. the guide was extremely toughtful and careful what we askedWritten December 24, 2024
- Roving260837129470 contributionsfun experienceit was such a great experience with Hassan and his team , we ride quad and camels then visited argan cooperation before eating local food and enjoying a show in the evening. thank you!Written November 16, 2024
- JohnF56420 contributionsA great and challenging adventureTour was well organised. Food and care throughout was excellent. Not a lot was discussed at the start but everything was well taken care of. Use of the mules for additional baggage was extremely handy and we could leave larger Items at the starting village The guide was very good. He kept the group at a good pace. Pace is fast cause of time restrictions between day and nightlight. The refuge had great food. Beds were comfy. We brought a sleeping bag which I would reccomend in the winter months. November was extremely cold. Good winter wear and gloves necessity. Poles were on offer to rent. I would advise doing this. Crampons were available to rent also Would highly reccomend. But would advise a good level of fitness.Written November 16, 2024

- cristi8880 contributionsFantastic Agafay Desert Experience! We booked it just a few hours before departure, and I was immediately contacted by our guide who made sure we had all the details to meet him easily. We started by riding the quad bike through the desert with a beautiful view. afterwards went on a guided visit to an argan oil production cooperative, where the entire production process was explained, and we were offered tea and got to sample the amazing natural products. Then we went back to ride the camels, which was definitely a unique experience. The traditional dinner of tagine and couscous was delicious, and dinning at sunset in this beautiful scenery with a lovely show is definitely a must do. Khalid Imlil, our guide, was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience smooth, fun, and even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this trip and would definitely do it again.Written October 27, 2024

Our trip to Imlil was awesome. The camel ride and meal was nice. Sayd was an excellent guide and very informative. We actually signed up for a cooking class but made the best out of the confusion.
